How much is it now?
#1075 to a dollar
Politics / Re: Keep Your Dollars So Tight, Don't Be Deceived. by Obaaderemi2: 4:30pm On Apr 22
I pity you. If you are a speculator and you bought dollars when it was high against the naira, you better cut your losses now. Between last night and this morning the naira gained #75 against the dollar.

By next month it would likely trade around less than #1000 to a dollar.

Monkey, the decimal you got was a percentage according to you. Then like a proper idiot you denied it was a percentage because you didn't write the % sign with it. Only for you to multiply it by 100 in a feeble attempt to convert % to % grin

Only for you to attempt to change the formula to another one which was completely wrong. Running from pillar to post like the monkey you are.

How did you pass your common entrance into whichever backward secondary school you attended? grin

I just gave you all the metrics. Both average, whole, and etc.

Again, I started in 2006 because that was the data available on CBN website. I don't want to be like that dummy newspaper guy who don't have fact at hand but instead said lot of statistical jargons to deny Buhari assertions.

So I used CBN official source so you won't question my statistics.

From the data predictor1 did, if you have any statistical brain, it is evident that PDP had the highest average. What exactly is wrong with you? What are we even arguing when the same chart from him clearly reveal PDP earned more on average and had more average selling price?

You need to calm down, listen, admit your wrongs, and argue like a sound mind.
He's arguing against facts? grin

Baller254:

just a combination of factors there's a 2 billion dollar Eurobond debt payment which eased a lot of investors, investor confidence is up thus higher FDI inflows,
increased tourism inflows, political stability and reduced insecurity has also cooled down currency speculation, good harvest, rains and a fertilizer subsidy program in the previous season has reduced the food import bill. another factor Kenya's exports were up in the last quarter of 2023 as the weakening of the Kenyan shilling last year made the country’s products competitive in international markets, higher diaspora remittances...

the kenyan government also has also got into arrangement with key trade partners to do trade in local currencies without using the US dollar
including government to government deals to purchase oil products without putting pressure on USD reserves.

a number of global organizations and regional embassies have set up their headquarters in Nairobi including some UN agencies hence the thousands of foreign employees working in Kenya bring in a lot of foreign exchange

Ethiopias recent civil war has shifted the investor attention in east africa back to kenya

if all factors remain constant its to be a great year for the kenyan economy.
Brilliant.

Ok. Maybe baller254 or generaldae can explain those "better economic management and policies" better
There's no better economic management. What they've done is not different from what Nigeria did. Ruto cut down on subsidies also just like Tinubu. Anyway, let me help you call rvp2018 aka mkenya. He's the authority on Kenya's economy here. And Obiano too, don't know if I got that right.

They've been doing that since the 1940s to build and keep their defence industry buoyant. If there are no wars and threats of war no one will buy weapons the way they're buying now.

If you mumu and you let them turn your country into a theatre of war, na you sabi.

For OP becoming concerned, it means it happens too often.
This is unusual. She likely was robbed of her childhood. Enquire more about her growing up. Allow her to enjoy herself but let her understand that it's not the norm among adults so she can fit in with her mates.
I watch cartoons once in a while and many of them have very good moral lessons.
She wasn't robbed of her childhood. In fact it shows she had a great childhood. I watch cartoon with my daughters a lot because I also grew up watching a lot of cartoons. Their mom doesn't watch cartoons with us because it wasn't really part of her growing up. The OP is lucky to have such a wife. She's a child at heart.

I curse your parents for not giving you the best gift ever, teaching you to know God would have been the best thing that has ever happened to you..
Reading how you spitefully talked about God shows that you have a heavy burden you're carrying. I pray he ease your burden and bring you closer to himself. May he forgive you for all the nonsense you wrote up there and the ones you've said before today.

Please resist every urge to quote me until you find God. Like I've said and will still say. Look for God, he is everywhere around you.

Exactly. Farmers produce and due to logistics mainly and Bandits in some areas, just distribute in a small circle, export to Chad. Niger, Cameroon or mostly have lots of stuff wasting.

If logistics were right, then we would have enough to export through the ports in Lagos or ensure more ports in.the South are fully functional for exports.
There's no way Nigeria can export as much yam as Ghana. I'm not sure what we produce is actually enough for Nigeria's huge population. Ghana is less than 30m people while Nigeria is more than 150m.

No, each particular country has its own peculiar "mess".
Kenya's problems can not be the same as Ghana's or Nigeria's. But the same pills given to Kenya or Ghana are the same Nigeria or Tanzania will receive as long as IMF is concerned. Honestly, the same kind of reforms are being employed by Tinubu and Ruto.

IMF is not blame.

IMF recommend painful treatment - chemo/radiotherapy and surgies.

Now mo.orons like you remember the painful treatment - dont remember who caused this (Buhari for you).

Now you're going to blame Tinubu/IMF (doctors giving your very painful medication) for the disease caused by Buhari.

Idiots like you fail to realize that IMF has been largely ineffective in Africa. You blindly believe everything foreign is good.
IMF's decision making is always a one-size-fits-all for poor countries. They've made so many mistakes in the past but have not learned a single lesson. They'll always leave Africans poorer with the kind of reforms they force your stupid leaders to take.

You thinking about 2027 politics instead of thinking how people's lives have been destroyed by this government. From last year September when he got into power upto this month already 70,000 Kenyans have lost their jobs as a result of his bad policies. Hustlers are closing down their businesses, international investors are running away from Nairobi Stock Exchange, Kenya power is on it's deathbed for the first time since Moi's era.

Petroleum products are at historic high despite the a drop in price in the international market. The guy can't keep off of people's payslip, it's deduction after deduction.

Kenya is at the worst point ever and Ruto will go down as the worst President in Kenya.
Exactly the same problems we are facing in Nigeria. These stupid African leaders take leaves out of IMF and World Bank playbooks and plunge their citizens into misery.

The IMF's World Economic Outlook envisions South Africa's gross domestic product reaching $401 billion based on current prices in 2024, compared with Nigeria's $395 billion and Egypt's $358 billion.
South Africa should even be doing better than that. If they hadn't succumbed to Dutch Disease they should at least be like Spain or Turkiye.

This man remains clueless about how to tackle Nigeria's problems and help the downtrodden.

Firstly, what's the essence of giving a certain rank of workers #55,000 wage for only 6 months?

Secondly, how will provisional money transfers to vulnerable people help the populace? How have they been determining who the vulnerable ones are? How has it helped in the past?

The Money Nigerians are made to pay through the noses in terms of subsidy removal is being frittered away.

Useless bigots, both ibos and yorubas open tribal threads and they are left there to cause insults and rile up one another, especially those of us who are forced to take sides from time to time. It's pathetic.

You've not been following, popizaino. The same rvp who said removing full fuel subsidy was the right thing. When I said it here that subsidy was necessary people like generadae and the same rvp said full removal was necessary. I even gave the example of Iran where almost everything is subsidized. I don't really support full subsidy but yanking it off completely like rvp and the rest were saying got us here.

Look at Kenya too. We told rvp ruto was a failure who was only there to play the imf script, he said we didn't know what we were saying. Look at Kenya after Ruto won.
