IslamRe: Black Man Receives Massive Racist Abuse For Marrying An Arab Woman by obailala(m): 5:44pm On Mar 24
UrVillageChief:
I like how you keep lying to yourself about this very topic. I love how you're pretending to not know that even in this our own Nigeria, a typical northern Muslim thinks he is more Islamic and pious than his southern counterpart. A good religion should be able to eradicate this. I'm not with any of the two religions but this is another area where Christianity triumphs. A southern Christain pastor isn't superior to those in the North and nobody can claim to be the head of all Christians in Nigeria by the virtue of his region being the best or the first to receive the religion.
Let's stop being economical with the truths, it's annoying.
The same way a northern Muslim thinks he's more Muslim than his southern counterpart and believes that no one except the sultan should be the head of Muslims is how the Arab Muslims think they are superior to the blacks and yes, a good religion would have addressed this. This should have been corrected since the days of Bilal, the first caller of the adhan
*Yawns*

I made my point clear, I'm not here to argue religion but racism.

Racism isnt an evil restricted to any religion. Some of the worst form of racism and racial cruelty humanity has ever recorded was perpetrated by people who tightly held bibles in their hands.

Western slave traders who inflicted some of the worst form of racism against blacks did so with bibles in their hands while preaching religion. So I'd be swimming in the same ignorance if I fall for the lame trap of trying to paint racism as a Christian vs. Muslim matter.

My point is that the worst form of racism ever experienced in the world were justified and propagated with religion. So on this issue, this shit has nothing to do with religion.

That ain't no religion, but ,a cult of the highest order.

Racism actually has nothing to do with religion. Just stupid ignorant people being ignorant... and this ignorance exists everywhere, regardless of the religion.

AsomughaChuks02:
Today, 17th March, 2026, Governor Professor Chukwuma Soludo CFR will be sworn in to office for a second term with pomp and pageantry all well deserved. He earned this honour after Ndi Anambra overwhelmingly gave him our mandate 21/21 with all his opponents in the election losing their local government areas while some like ADC and LP candidates even lost their polling units. Peter Obi the former governor lost his own polling unit to APC.

Now that the elections are behind us, today marks a new cycle of 4 years of the Solution is Here administration. On Sunday 15th March, a thanksgiving was held to thank God for the last 4 years and the next 4. Prominent Anambra sons and daughters graced the event including former governor Chris Ngige. Noticeably absent was Peter Obi who may have allowed his bitterness to get the better of him. Though in the country, he was a no-show.

Let's hope he will overcome his bitterness today and show up like the gentleman he pretends to be!
As a former governor of the state and as the most infuential politician from the SE, if he wasnt invited, Obi will be silly to gate crash a formal state event where he wasn't invited.

OBI never harboured any ill-thoughts against Soludo, but Soludo appears to lose sleep and bitterly run his mouth whenever he hears Obi's name. Perhaps he's just jealous of OBI's unprecedented popularity and amongst Nigerians.

givedemwotowoto:
Dangote has already reduced his petrol price due to public outrage and people asking tough questions, because everything I described was possible, while some people are still online explaining and defending nonsense
Defending?

I only explained basic economics 101 to you on why the price increased and you think that's "defending"? Well, it's not my fault if the elementary explanation I gave flew over your head for you to term it 'nonsense'.

There are several avenues for Dangote to reduce it's price if it wants to, they can simply choose to reduce their 'profit margin' and that can help reduce the price. But my point was that if NNPC chooses to sell crude cheaper than global prices to Dangote, then that's a form of subsidy. That is all I said, but if your brain chooses to interpret this as me 'defending' the price rise, then I cant really help you.

...by the way, the ever greedy Dangote didn't reduce his price because of any public outrage or tough questions, he reduced his price cos global oil prices dropped in the last few days.

PoliticsRe: What Does The Strait of Hormuz Have To Do With Nigeria's Rising Petrol Prices? by obailala(m): 11:49am On Mar 12
givedemwotowoto:
This one is different from subsidy payments. Let’s use a simple Math:

You sell tomatoes produced from your farm. It costs you N500 to produce each basket. You sell each basket for N1,000 locally. In the international market, you sell $2, that’s the global price.

There is flood somewhere in Australia where a lot of tomatoes are also produced, so demand abroad pushes global price to $4.

You still produce it for N500, nothing changed.

As a tomato company funded with the tax money of your community members, will you raise the price for locals to N2,000 just because the global price changed, even when your N500 production cost didn't change?
Yeah but if the company keeps its products at the same price, there's an 'opportunity cost' for that, and it's still a form of 'subsidy' or 'under-recovery' (which is the fancy term the NNPC under Buhari tried to use to mask the term 'subsidy'.

If there's an opportunity to sell at N2000 and make a profit of N1500 per basket, but the tomato company chooses to keep it's price at N1000, that additional profit of N1000 which the company forfeits to keep prices low for its community is still referred to as 'subsidy' in economics.

What is wrong with you as a citizen benefiting from your own common wealth…. Baba u pple should not be brainwashed by ur own goverment into to thinking that subsidy is an abomination ….. its a strategy of this govt because they know its the only way to truly give back to the pple…
I think Nigeria has grown beyond the subsidy argument. My concern is what the government should be doing with the funds allegedly saved from subsidy removal, not about reintroducing subsidy payments.
PoliticsRe: What Does The Strait of Hormuz Have To Do With Nigeria's Rising Petrol Prices? by obailala(m): 8:32pm On Mar 08
givedemwotowoto:
Nigeria doesn’t spend N1 in crude oil production, the oil companies do, and they will get their profit from their own share of crude. Nigeria sets its own price when they receive their share of crude, about 1 million barrels per day. If they sell to their international market, they must sell at the prevailing international market price. If they sell locally for local consumption, they can sell at a lower price.

Nigerians consume only 30% of Nigeria’s share of daily production. They still have over 60% to sell globally at the prevailing international market price, so what’s the problem? Why are already suffering Nigerians paying for the blockage on the Strait of Hormuz?
What you're asking for is basically 'oil subsidy'. The only way to keep pump prices low when it's expensive everywhere else is by subsidising.

If global oil price rises to say $100 and NNPC is instructed to sell to Dangote at $70 to keep petrol prices low, what that means is that Nigeria will be losing $30 for every barrel of oil sold (i.e. govt. paying a subsidy of $30 per barrel). So if 327,000 barrels (Nigeria's daily consumption amount) is sold to Dangote daily at $70/barrel, that's equivalent to ~$10million daily in subsidy to keep local petrol prices low.
PoliticsRe: What Does The Strait of Hormuz Have To Do With Nigeria's Rising Petrol Prices? by obailala(m): 8:25pm On Mar 08
givedemwotowoto:
This is a rejoinder to: Petrol Price May Hit N1,800 In Nigeria- Refiners Warn

20% of global oil passes through the Strait of Hormuz. We get it.

But here are the facts:

1. Almost all of Nigeria's crude oil is sweet crude.

2. Dangote Refinery has the capacity to process 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day.

3. Nigeria's daily consumption of crude oil is 327,000 barrels per day (or 52 million liters per day).

4. This means Dangote Refinery can process 100% of Nigeria's daily consumption locally.

So for the defenders of fuel price increase, explain to us why there is fuel price increase at Nigeria's petrol stations.

Before you come with Canada argument, let me preempt you:
Most of Canada’s crude is heavy crude and almost half of the 16 refineries can’t refine heavy crude, so the crude oil needs to be exported to the U.S. for refining. Because it is exported abroad, global oil price will affect it: you export at a high price due to demand, you import at a higher price.
Dangote buys the crude which he refines at the global oil price. So if the price of crude rises, Dangote also increases his prices.

I stand to be corrected by someone who works in the health sector on the level of a permanent secretary and above anyway.
Repairing faulty cars or air conditioners, or even outright replacement of certain items doesn't always constitute capital expenditure; those are operational costs.

By the way, the revelation of N36 million was made be the minister of health himself during budget presentation; so what exactly do you need a perm secretaries to clarify for you?
