From my experience with deities and kingship I have this advice if only you will take it;
1. You don't say no to the gods because it always have its consequences which may even come upon your children in future. Wisdom is the key and the truth in Igbo land, you don't take a staff of authority while your father is still alive(abomination)

Answer: play the game of the spirit by telling the elders that your father will hold the crown for you until your ready.
( let me give you an example, Arthur Eze in Ukpo if u've heard of the name when his father died as a king, he was next in line but his multibillion dollar oil empire was his problem coupled with him saying no will affect his entire fortune. He played their game by telling the gods that his not too conversant with their tradition and that his uncle should hold it for him until his ready) with that the gods have only two options left 1. If they insists and crown him, he may destroy their custom and they can't harm him because he said it earlier 2. If they refused the uncle from holding the crown, it means that a stranger will be in charge which is also no for the gods.
The bottom line is that Arthur Eze is over 70years now and his uncle is still holding the crown for him.

Pls don't mind my typo and am writing from my wife's account am not a member just came across your message and felt the need to assist.

Best Regards,
Xp

We need to ascertain some issues:

1. Are you interested in the Kingship?
2. What is your wife's opinion on the Kingship?
3. What leverage do you have in this situation? i.e. If you don't become the king, what happens?
4. What leverage does the village have over you? If you refuse their kingship, what can they stop you from achieving?
5. If you are interested in the kingship and have some sort of leverage, do you have the mental strength to insist it is done your way: kingship with no second wife?

Something like this happened in one of the South South states 5 years ago. The deity comes in form of a snake to the house of the chosen one. One gateman for AIT baff to go work na so e see python for em center table, being a stubborn man e lock d snake for house abandon the house for 1 week plus. Meanwhile, the chief priest say the gods have chosen someone. The village people begin wonder who na, during the town meeting the gateman was conspicously absent. Na so dem send messgae to em house, dem knock door no answer as dem peep see big snake for table na so dem gyrate go gate for AIT lift am for head straight to crowning.

JONNYSPUTE:
....Good morning folks. Sure we are all good and managing the effects of pandemic well?. To God be the glory.

This is going to be long because I will want us to read and understand it very well before commenting. Reason is because any decision taken is going to affect both myself,my immediate family members, extended and the entire community.

I have been thinking about the way forward since December last year.

It happened that we lost our king (Eze) 5years ago and the community has been in turmoil due to the inability of the elders to select a new king.

Reason is that it is rotational between my village and the other village.

My village is now supposed to bring out the next king and my compound has been told to bring out somebody to be crowned as a king.

I never envisaged or dreamt of becoming a king in my life because.
(1) My father is still alive.
(2)I'm not the most senior in the entire family.

But then, the elders met me last December and told me that the diety in the community has selected me to become the next king and that I have to pick another wife from the community before I will be crowned.

I told them point and blank that the oracle is mistaken due to the reasons I mentioned above but they are not taking it.

Now everyone in my village is against me for refusing the offer and saying I'm doing it be cause I don't want to hurt my wife which is true.

Now my question is,What do I do?
Should I damn the consequence and pick another wife and be crowned a king in other to make my community happy or should I forget about the whole idea entirely and allow the community sort themselves out?

I'm confused here. N B. My wife is aware of all this.

Thanks.

Please bring this to front page cause I'm no longer myself. So many sleepless nights and selfish advices from the elders in my community. I really need to hear the truth from people I don't know.
The deity can't tell you to marry another wife. Even if it does you can appease it,on ascending the throne do not reject it lest the deities come for all you hold dear. This no be christianity, think devil sef meet God to take permission to frustrate JOB. What stops him from meeting God over you cause your forefathers worshipped the dieties so you must. Note:Don't tell d elders because of your wife you can't be KING. PLEASE

Politics / Re: Rivers Locks Down Bonny LGA And Onne Community by Obakovicho: 5:59am On Jun 21, 2020
Dakad:
My able governor had good intension at the early stage of this virus in Rivers. However, his approach was totally wrong and that's what led to rise case. He started fighting with people instead of the virus and politicised the fight against COVID-19. Some of governor Wike's die harder fan will not agree with this but that's the pure truth.

My beloved Rivers was just below 20 reported cases of COVID-19 when ill advised pattern of lockdown was imposed in PH. Governor Wike imposed one of the irresponsible lockdown in PH if I may have that term. I tagged it irresponsible and without proper consultation with experts because, he gave an impression that the first lockdown is indefinite and the rational thinking people were running from pillar to post to prepare for the lockdown but in just 4/5 days into the lockdown without any reasonable reason, he relaxed with impression to allow people to restock and gave 2days and what happened? People throw caution into the air and started crowding everywhere just to buy stuff. I know some family that bought 30 loaves of bread. And all of the sudden just at the die minutes, he extended the relaxation for 3 more days. Then after just 3days into the lockdown, he finally open up everywhere. My wife is into food and the, I can categorically say that people were practically on top of each other during the
lockdown purchase

Now, it's logical to conclude that all those irresponsible pattern of lockdown made the asymptomatic carriers to be spreading the virus. Those states that attempted to do something that resemble lockdown even though I didn't support lockdown without reasonable palliative were able to curb the spread. It's logical that the incubation period of this virus is 14days, what a government that consult experts ought to have done was to impose minimum of 14days lockdown if any at all.

Rivers is now in no 4 on the table overtaken states like Ogun, Edo, Osun, Kano etc who tried to imposed minimum of 14days lockdown. Even Osun with 20 cases in a day at the initial stage of this pandemic is still below 100 cases if I'm not mistaken. It's obvious that the fight against the COVID-19 by Wike wasn't properly channelled. Before you come to persecute me I'm a stakeholder in Rivers whose business is adversely affected by this pandemic. And what all must be doing is to collectively see how this pandemic will be adequately handled by government at all level to ensure the negative impact is minimise and lives are preserved.

I love my governor zeal and passion but he didn't approach the fight against this pandemic with proper consultation with experts rather he was more interested in the political fight but unfortunately the virus doesn't not know political coloration. I'm sure we are coming out of this pandemic stronger by God's grace
My brother you are right but mind you onne and bonny are known as the hub of oil and gas in the state the govt left dem open where vessels and expatriates came in and mingled with the locals who had unfettered access to ph with reckless abandon

Ceaser's aggression is beginning to scale through the roof, yes he started barking at strangers very early i think at 6weeks or so and i started the socialization process imediately by making him meet other pups and people,, it seemed to have worked, as a stranger when he sees you he barks ferociously but i can command him to stay and sniff the person and thats it, he then becomes cool with the person....but since this week i noticed another side of ceaser
whether i use speaker to command him oga will still be barking, this evening a friend of mine whom owned a boerboel was courageous enough to stare him in the eyes continuously as he was still barking, and pulling me.. the guy kept coming closer slowly while maintaining eye contact and bent when he was in touching distance, he extended his hands touched ceaser, ceaser became calm i thought the guy had performed magic then boom! in a split second ceaser went for his hands i had to pull him back and the barking continued...this has been our storyline this week..he allows one to touch him as if he is cool then boom he goes for the hands.....well i have my work cut out for me not complaining tho,i had anticipated the aggression my only mistake was thinking i had successfully socialized him

‍⚕️ This is the case of Muhamed Abdul an Indonesian lucky guy.. first thing that save his life is not to remove the fish.. his father took him to a regional hospital but they weren't able to do surgery there so they just cut the body of the fish and let the head in his neck.
‍⚕️ Transferred to a big hospital , The delicate two-hour operation involved three surgeons and two anesthetists 'To remove the fish snout, one must be very careful because there is a large vessel in the neck common carotid exactly here..

Thank God for the courage of the op, and the honesty of various commenters so far.
Mine started with serious body ache. High fever for two days and I went to the hospital without delay. Doctor treated Malaria. This was last week Tuesday and PH was on lockdown. By Friday i had totally lost sense of smell, but can taste sweetness and bitterness. I was so scared. The fever subsided but the body ache remained. I was so weak that i could hardly climb staircase. On a normal day I do 10k plus steps every two days while excercising.
I could not believe this is happening to me. I already have bp problems and also on sugar medication. Scared shit.
I called NCDC but no response. By Sunday the loss of smell persisted. I cannot perceive my perfume, soap, smoke, anything. My husband tried to assure me its not covid but deep within me I knew I have got it. I was scared for my children and family. How do i really isolate when i still dish out food and they always come in to talk to me. By Sunday I called earlier and was told to come to elekahia stadium for test. I went there in the afternoon but was told by security that they were not around.
I went back to see my doctor and he simply told me to add home remedies. Crush ginger and garlic together, add to boiling water, and inhale the fumes while covered with a towel.
I added dogonyaro leaves. This became my medication since then. I just got better. Taste and smell started returning yesterday. Its not like anything i have ever experienced all my life.
My niece also developed symptoms on monday and was taking the same treatment. She is ok now.
Guys, covid 19 is real. God is just merciful to us here in Nigeria. I thank God for the opportunity to share this experience. I am still isolating from the aged and vulnerable.
Had same too some around nov/dec where u still taking your bp and sugar drugs?

I think this is one of the most truthful forum concerning the COVID-19 scenario in Nigeria.
There is massive community explosion and people are only able to talk freely because it's a faceless forum.
I have family members with loss of smell and /or taste as far back as February 2020. Never for once doubted it did not need an Italian to bring the virus to Nigeria ; Nigerians visiting China full ground!!
They did not shut down flight. Covid19 might have entered nigeria as far bk as november

Inhaling steam from boiling water laced with robb. Anti malaria and antibiotics. And for the smell and teste, strepsils on intervals. Lime and lemon grass with honey tea, works like a charm.
