Politics / Re: Samai’la Adamu Burga To Farmers: Don’t Rush To Sell Your Produce by obbasiasa(m): 5:24am On Sep 20, 2020
From the mouth of a government official, preaching hoarding of food stuffs, that farmers should not sell to neighbor state... What about if Niger-Delta decides to hoard crude oil until the international price is high, hope the country will still run?... Well just asking for a friend.

Politics / An Edo Based Lawyer Sues Edo State Government Agency For Aparting With 15k by obbasiasa(m): 5:28pm On Nov 18, 2018
Lawyer Slams N5m Law Suit Against Edo Staff Traffic Control & Management Agency

A civil right lawyer practicing in Benin has slammed the Edo Staff Traffic Control & Management Agency with a law suit, demanding for Five Million Naira damages for illegally towing his Honda CR-V and compelling him to part away with Fifteen Thousand Naira fine.

The matter was filed by F. C. Asiazobor, ESQ at the Federal High Court in Benin on the 16th day of November, 2018; on behalf of the Applicant who is also a legal practitioner, Darlington Enereba. Interestingly, the suit is also seeking an Order or Court to declare that Edo Staff Traffic Control & Management Agency (EDSTMA) has no legal right in law to impose fine on motorists. The suits seems to argue that fines are also imposed after a trial in law hence the arbitrary habit of imposing fines on road users by the officers of the agency is illegal and unknown to law. “It amounts to a rape of the judicial process as same seems to be an attempt to rob the judicial powers vested on our courts by section 6 of the Constitution”, F. C. Asiazobor said.

By the suit, the lawyers appear to raise the argument that, in line with the Federal Highways Act, 2004, the EDSTMA cannot operate on Trunk A Federal Highways in Nigeria.

Should the Applicant’s prayers be granted by the Federal High Court, road users in Edo State can go about their daily routines without having to face officials trying to extort them daily in the guise of carrying out their official assignments. It has become a ritual for officials of EDSTMA and the Road Safety to daily harass and extort huge amounts of money from road users despite the epileptic condition of the road networks in Edo State.

Isn’t it worrisome that a Road Safety Officer demands to see “road worthiness certificate” for a vehicle that is plying a road not worthy for the vehicle to drive on? Why should officers apprehend persons suspected to break the law and still impose fines on such suspects without any form of trial? Does that act not go against fair hearing? Why be a judge in your own course?

I believe this landmark law suit will bring legal answers to these troubling questions.

This has long been a way fraudsters (419) obtain money from innocent people, everybody should be careful and people should not join to MOB anybody when such alarm is heard
These people are normally group when one rise such alarm the others who pretend to be passerby join in
They demand they go test the person... from there other things happen
I just hope that police start clamping down on these people

Education / Re: Umar Musa University Bans Christian Gatherings Leaving Islamic Gathering Only by obbasiasa(m): 10:57am On Jan 22, 2017

Whether federal or state owned, it remains a public school so it does not alter the argument in any way. The poster might have not made the distinction between fed n state but it remains a school run n funded by public funds allocated for that purpose.
he clear called it federal try and read it again

Recognising it as a sharia state is not binding on all indigenes to the exclusion of all others. Sharia is personal law if u know what I mean so provided the school is government-owned with funds drawn from d federal purse, that exclusion of religious and tribal assembly is unconstitutional.
today is sunday and am in church, am not going to argue religious issue
My problem with the article is for the writer to call a state owned university federal
He should edit his write up and stop making excuses
Education / Re: Umar Musa University Bans Christian Gatherings Leaving Islamic Gathering Only by obbasiasa(m): 10:50am On Jan 22, 2017
freeze001:

The point is that it is state owned and there is no state religion to the exclusion of another. There may be a majority of one but even the minority are guaranteed freedom of association, lawful assembly and worship by the Constitution.
that is not the point
You can't deceive people because you want to prove a point
It's state owned and the writer should not deceive people by saying it's federal
Education / Re: Umar Musa University Bans Christian Gatherings Leaving Islamic Gathering Only by obbasiasa(m): 10:47am On Jan 22, 2017
daretodiffer:
There are Christians in Katsina who also pay tax

that does not make the university federal owned, so if you are passing news you should not add lies to make it sweet
Yes I know that there are Christians and pagans in katsina, but they never protest nigeria constitution recognising the state as sharia state
I presently live in katsina, and even stay very close to the university
So I know what happen in katsina very well even though am not from the state

Why will a University in a secular state ban freedom of Religion in school and publish their bias for all to see.

I make bold to ask, Is Nigeria an Islamic State?

Before you answer? Note. Every Federal government agency in Abuja has an original in-built mosque from inception. Name them-CBN, SEC, FIRS, University of Abuja, PTDF, FCDA, Federal Secretariat etc.

Aso Rock villa was modelled After Moroccan kings palace. With 3 standard mosques.

OBJ built a chapel in 2004 and All hell was almost let loose.

Now a FEDERAL university built with Tax payers money issues a memo making it obvious
I think you should confirm your news before spreading it, the university is state owned, actually Katsina state university named after the former president who built it when he was governor of katsina state, and it's well known that katsina state is a sharia state, if you don't know the difference between state owned and federal I wonder how u expect me not to take your news as fake

It is a federal university built with Tax payers money.

FYI, I left university 13 years ago. Not even my children will attend such school. Am only concerned because this is pure religious discrimination in a secular state with constitutional democracy
the university is state owned, it's actually katsina state university named after the former president, because he built it when he was governor of katsina state. And it's well known that the state is a sharia state, so am not surprised to see this memo

Phones / NEW!!! Blackberry 10 N Some Other Phones Can't Use Whatsapp From Dec 31st by obbasiasa(m): 6:34pm On Jul 03, 2016
As announced in our blog, we will soon be ending support for certain devices. At the end of 2016, we will no longer support the following platforms:
BlackBerry, including BlackBerry 10
Nokia S40
Nokia Symbian S60
Android 2.1 and Android 2.2
Windows Phone 7.1
iPhone 3GS/iOS 6
These platforms don't offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app's features in the future. If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer Android running OS 2.3+, a Windows Phone 8+, or an iPhone running iOS 7+ before the end of 2016 to continue using WhatsApp.
Once you have one of these devices, simply install WhatsApp and verify your phone number on the new device to continue using WhatsApp. Keep in mind that WhatsApp can only be activated with one phone number on one device at a time.
There is currently no option to transfer your chat history between platforms. However, we provide the option to send your chat history attached to an email. Learn how to export your chat history on: Android | iPhone | Windows Phone | Nokia S40 | BlackBerry | Nokia S60 | BlackBerry 10
