Aight.
And you are here calling me ignorant.
Good evening. I won't trobule you no more. I am convinced that you have never in your life seen the authentic financial records of the organizations you are defending. Even if you see the records you cannot interpret them. Also, you have not worked as a senior manager in any of them. So you are not privy to a lot of things going on. |

Which is kind of my point. I am arguing that the power sector has the same right you have, and other business people have. The right to set the price that helps them make a profit.
Not allowing them that right is why they are a mess, why they have bad things like estimated billing, and why they cannot supply or replace transformers and people have to buy it for them. By |

MadamExcellency: You did not do justice to my submissions. You don't quote a comment and refused to address the issues raised. Stop reading too much from academic resolutions on papers. These academic exercises are why Nigeria is failing. We need practical and workable formats like the workable one I narrated.
Let me rephrase my comment to enable you to understand better.
You have repeatedly implied that the DISCOs are not profitable. Who authorized you to advocate for them? We are discussing the inefficiency in both distribution and bill payments/collections.
For example, in my hometown, every community is connected to the National grid through Ultra High Tension (11,000KVA lines) to the transformer. A watt meter is connected to the UHT transformers, displaying the total monthly consumption, and bills are issued by the DISCO. However, the collection of money is not done by the EEDC but by elected community members. This arrangement is followed by a significant percentage of Aba mega city. Sometimes, the communities have surplus funds from donations and contributions for electricity projects. If the communities have extra funds, then how can the DISCOs be incurring losses unless there is inefficiency?
Furthermore, do you not think that the DISCOs' inefficiency is due to the large sums of money they receive from intervention funds provided by the Federal government? These funds amount to billions of naira.
There are no acceptable reasons to justify the DISCOs' inefficiencies. It is a result of mismanagement, severe incompetence, and neglect of duty. Reforms are necessary, and both shareholders and government representatives should take measures to ensure efficient management. |

Kukutente23: Oga, abeg rest You impress no one You know how many times I have caught you stylishly defending corruption o f APC and even blaming PDP et al for court judgements going against them? You fool no one. You claimed subsidy should go. Can you tell us one benefit of subsidy removal since last year? Just one without any lies or buts. Even WB had to backtrack on subsidy when it saw the effect on the economy with inflation running to 30% but to you, that subsidy removal still remains the answer. It shows you are not honest and you have an agenda beyond free market policies.
Secondly, even the telcos you are using as example have a price ceiling (N4.89) they cannot go beyond in pricing and a price floor (N1.63) they cannot go below which is set by NCC. Have you seen any telco begin to charge customers for the maintenance of mast because of such price controls?
The Discos are being subsidized to the tune of over 500bn annually. So how such Discos will claim they are not making money is totally off given that per unit, they are paid around N67 which is higher than what telcos can charge per minute.
All the above facts mean nothing to you because your agenda must agend. That is the fact |

MadamExcellency: The Federal government owns 40% of every DISCO in Nigeria hence the social angle interwoven in the partnerships. If the independent marketers can work with the government owned NNPC and deliver results, why not DISCOs if service delivery is their objective?
Have you asked yourself why treating malaria is cheaper and effective in Nigeria than in the US and Europe?
When the government removed the subsidy, they channelled the proceeds to where? Do you know why the government taxes goods and services (VAT)?
Go and ask the Discos why they are rejecting what they call excess power supply from GENCOs when there is still 70% darkness in their coverage areas. Have you asked why DISCOs prefer estimated billing to prepared metering?
Are you aware the DISCOs prefer supplying electricity to domestic homes during the day when they have gone to work and then supplying commercial areas at night?
The other day, you talked about bypassing meters and I was laughing at your comment, why? Here in Imo State, prepared meters are installed on Electric Poles and locked, it's visible to everyone crossing the road hence making them difficult to bypass without being noticed immediately.
Finally, there is a range in percentage that the DISCOs are required to charge the same with Fuel stations after buying the products at a heavily subsidized price from the Government. Very good analysis! |

Good evening. I hate to do this, but you are a little abusive, and nasty. I am sure you are not like that in real life.
You do not need to lose your head over simple facts. What facts do you know? I own a prepaid meter and I am charged 67 Naira per unit. I load between 6,000 to 7000 Naira monthly, enough to power everything I use, including my pumping machine. On the other hand, the landlord next to my house does not have a prepaid meter. He receives a bill of 55,000 Naira monthly; and we are on the same transformer, using the same electric pole! Is that just? How can you defend your paymasters in this scenario? |

Becos if u didn't, u would know that the Cells in the human body die every single day as u age.
And Yes, including your Brain Cells.
And they can Regenerate themselves to form other healthy cells and Repair damaged tissues in the body.
Incase u don't know what tissues are, they are made up of CELLS.
So before you bash someone who is clearly trying to create awareness on something that can save a life.
Use ur brain if u even have one with it's cells in place. This is quite true! Cells die daily as human beings age, new ones are created, old and poor functioning cells can be recycled or ejected from the body(including the brain) through the process of Autophagy, which I explained earlier. |

MadamExcellency: Nairaland1's understanding of politics, economy and social welfare is poor and riddled with ignorance. Ask him how much the GENCOs sell the highly subsidized one kilowatt of power to DISCOs before giving the DISCOs the free-to-charge arbitrarily. Cost control is perfect when a commodity is subsidized. Imagine asking Petrol Stations to sell any price they like when the government is subsidizing the products.

How can asking for DNA test be an issue here? And moreover cant you see that some people wanted to throw the narrative to him that his son already has a will which he came up with a counter arguement?
Haaba!! I believe you re a man and ought to be logical in your reasoning.... You re accusing a man of killing alhis son when he was never told that his son had died. Infact he was deceived but only followed his intuition to get to his son's house only to discover that his son was already dead and already embalmed. His son's lawyer , some Alfa's, some representatives of top musicians and other were already in his house. Death certificate was already issue to his son's wife which she never revealed to him but made him carry the corpse all around town looking for police report and morgue to deposit the body. Only to be refused and had no option other than to go bury his son that night . Finally he was castigated by Nigerians for the rush and his son's corpse was exhumed for further investigation. What else do you guys want from this man? Obviously hi life as I can see now. Too bad |

obesse: And speaking about dementia and other chronic diseases, this is for people in their 40s, 50s, 60s and even 70s. The most effective way to significantly reduce the risk of dementia, parkinson's, Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, stroke, ulcer(yes ulcer!) hypertension, and all forms of cancer is Water fasting! No food, but clean water. People who know about this therapy water fast for 3 days, 7 days, 14 days and even 30 days, depending on their ability. But you need to add some salt to your water to prevent electrolyte imbalance. If you have not fasted before, start with 1 day water fast. The first 3 days are the hardest. After that, things get better. Try to reduce your level of physical activity, because you will feel weak or might feel dizzy. Currently, I do the 7 days water fasting every month, and my weight has reduced to the normal level(from 100kg to 77kg). The reason water fasting can heal the body is that it triggers Autophagy. When you deprive your body of food, the body would start feeding on the fat stored in your body, then it would start eliminating old and weak cells, which usually lead to cancel and replace them with new and effective cells. The brain will clear out malfunctioning cells(which can cause dementia and Alzheimer's disease) and creat new and better cells. Also, long term water fasting can help your body develop Stem Cells(which somebody mentioned earlier on this thread). If you like you can take multivitamins during the fast. WARNING: If you want to break a fast, take it slowly, because the digestive system has been on break and your stomach is smaller. If you take solid food after a long term fast, it might kill the person. Don't start with acidic fruit like Apple. But watermelon is excellent to break a fast. Then after 30 minutes, you may take a little soup. Some people take up to three days before they start taking solid food after about 21 days of fasting. God is great for He has given us an internal mechanism by which our bodies can self-heal, and we can be healthy and live longer. Respect to all the Medical practitioners on Nairaland. We all appreciate the tireless efforts you make to heal the sick. However, if there is anything that is incorrect or false in my write up, please don't hesitate to point it out on this forum. Thank you all! |
