PoliticsRe: Delta State, IGR More Than All States In The Southwest [COMBINED] Minus Lagos. by Obiagu1(m): 3:20am On Dec 07, 2013
plaindealer: Not the ones on NL...
Lol, go to culture section and see where one is from.

Sorry bro, I still need an answer.
Why is SW regressing?
PoliticsRe: Delta State, IGR More Than All States In The Southwest [COMBINED] Minus Lagos. by Obiagu1(m): 3:14am On Dec 07, 2013
plaindealer: According to you...

The whole SE people on NL are from SE today and from SS tomorrow...abeg make I hear word..
SE guys are proud of their states and will claim no other state unlike you guys that are all from Lagos State.
PoliticsRe: Delta State, IGR More Than All States In The Southwest [COMBINED] Minus Lagos. by Obiagu1(m): 3:11am On Dec 07, 2013
plaindealer: The SW is regressing, but Lagos collects more than the entire SE x 4 and even Ogun collects more than the whole of SE combined...

Abeg move...
Yes SW is regressing as shown by this new figures?
What will you call it? Progressing when the lowly Ebonyi overtook Oyo, oh great Oyo? cry
PoliticsRe: Delta State, IGR More Than All States In The Southwest [COMBINED] Minus Lagos. by Obiagu1(m): 3:09am On Dec 07, 2013
plaindealer: We are on the same page, you are all from SS and never from SE hence the whole attache thing by you all. You know your SE villages can not compete with the SW so you endlessly borrow SS to run your mouth with when in fact even SS is still decades away from civilization.

I asked your kinsman the OP to equate Delta's IGR with development in the region and he chickened out for obvious reasons, the place is all oil wells with zero development even with all their derivations, NDDC and all the other shady oil benefits...
Who doesn't know that One_Naira is from Asaba?

Anyway, it pains you guys badly when SS guys thrash your pride. Something you think only the SE do.

Guy times are changing, you've got to face reality! You guys are a hated bunch in Southern Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: Delta State, IGR More Than All States In The Southwest [COMBINED] Minus Lagos. by Obiagu1(m): 2:53am On Dec 07, 2013
Hopefully, we will not hear about IGR again after Ebonyi overtook Oyo.

The question is, is the SW regressing? They used to have a higher IGR.
May I ask:

Who are those that have been at the forefront of a SNC?

....This is my last post on you. I see are gettin' seriously knocked down. grin
Yorubas were, they championed it when Abiola was not allowed to assume office.
What is happening now?
How will you describe the current attitude of Yorubas to the SNC they introduced to us?
PoliticsRe: 'Let’s Go Our Separate Ways, Form Separate Countries’ - Dokubo-Asari by Obiagu1(m): 4:27am On Dec 06, 2013
Katsumoto: Because 6 months isn't enough to grab resources and there was little revenue from oil. But in 6 months, you did take advantage of what was available.
You just validated my demand you withdraw your uninformed analogy.

Yes 6 months is not enough but Katsumoto knew what would have happened had the Igbo remained in power.

We are not resource grabbers. If Civil service was merged by Decree 34, it is unfortunate, but it still does not equate to resource grabbing because it only opened up a nationwide talent competition of who gets what. Like I said, it was unfortunate.
PoliticsRe: 'Let’s Go Our Separate Ways, Form Separate Countries’ - Dokubo-Asari by Obiagu1(m): 4:20am On Dec 06, 2013
NigerDeltans want their resources back or they are out.

If you think you are not a parasite, help them achieve it.
No more spinning, no more beating about the bush.
PoliticsRe: 'Let’s Go Our Separate Ways, Form Separate Countries’ - Dokubo-Asari by Obiagu1(m): 4:16am On Dec 06, 2013
Katsumoto: The problem with you is that you try to be smart thinking that others are foolish. Or you are genuinely bereft of a thinking faculty.

If Ironsi's FG took revenue from all regions in Nigeria, assuming the Northerners never executed their own coup and Nigeria has been ruled by Igbo since Ironsi, who would be sitting on oil revenue from the ND? You can only talk about oil because 1) Your power grab lasted only 6 months 2) revenue from oil in 1966 was not the major source of revenue.
Now it is a case of 'If'? LMAO!

The point remains we did not grab the resources of the nation to use as we wished. It did not happen.
PoliticsRe: 'Let’s Go Our Separate Ways, Form Separate Countries’ - Dokubo-Asari by Obiagu1(m): 4:11am On Dec 06, 2013
I said it before, 1966 coup is the comfort zone of some people.
It has been over debated, torn into pieces and every molecule in it analyzed yet some people don't seem satisfied with it.

They still want the electrons, proton, neutron etc analyzed as well.

SMH!
PoliticsRe: 'Let’s Go Our Separate Ways, Form Separate Countries’ - Dokubo-Asari by Obiagu1(m): 4:04am On Dec 06, 2013
Katsumoto: False to you. My point stands. And it remains vindicated by the actions of July 1966.
No it is not vindicated because the analogy is wrong.
Igbos did not appropriate the resources of the three regions for their own control.
Northerners did and that's the pain of NigerDelta people.
PoliticsRe: 'Let’s Go Our Separate Ways, Form Separate Countries’ - Dokubo-Asari by Obiagu1(m): 3:59am On Dec 06, 2013
Katsumoto: That's not a proper analogy.

[s]3 men (Igbo, Yoruba, & Northerner) shared 9 candles until the Igbo man took all 9 candles while the other two were sleeping claiming that he was a better keeper. The Northerner got angry and engaged the Igbo man in a fight and took all 9 candles for himself. Now that he has 9 candles, why would he revert to the original arrangement? If the Igbo man didn't get greedy and attempt to take all 9 candles, would the Northerner know the benefit of having all candles? Plain and simple - if you seek an advantage for yourself and someone else seizes that advantage from you, why will he relinquish it?[/s]
So can you withdraw your analogy and accept that it is false and uninformed?
PoliticsRe: 'Let’s Go Our Separate Ways, Form Separate Countries’ - Dokubo-Asari by Obiagu1(m): 3:49am On Dec 06, 2013
katsumoto thinks he is clever.
If you like, revert to listing who staged the coup.
The fact remains the Igbo did not take the 'candles', rather the North did.
So when Ironsi assumed power, are you saying the various cocoa institutions, plantations, oil palm, etc were not hijacked by the government?

OH MINE MINE, This Bro is making me LMAO. grin
Prove me wrong, bro.
PoliticsRe: 'Let’s Go Our Separate Ways, Form Separate Countries’ - Dokubo-Asari by Obiagu1(m): 3:45am On Dec 06, 2013
Katsumoto: Really

Who cancelled compulsory Hausa test in the North so that their sons could get civil service jobs?

Who implemented Decree 34?

Who organized and executed the first coup?

Who benefited from the first coup?

Who composed an advisory team comprised Francis Nwokedi, Pius Okigbo, and Lt. Colonel Patrick Anwunah (all Igbo)

Who made Pius Nwokedi, the sole commissioner for the unification of the Nigerian state?

Who benefited from the majority of promotions in the Army immediately after a coup even though there was a moratorium on promotions?

That someone else beat you at your own game doesn't mean you aren't responsible
Is problem of Nigeria not resource control?
Why do NigerDeltans want to leave?

You claimed the Igbo took the 'candles' whereas it was a lie.

The North kept increasing the Federal allocation and that is 'taking the candles' because the resources are at their mercy.
PoliticsRe: 'Let’s Go Our Separate Ways, Form Separate Countries’ - Dokubo-Asari by Obiagu1(m):
This is arguably a RIDICULOUS claim & a BLATANT lie. !

So if KATZ candles were to be the forms of Federalism that had prevailed, so who were the Northerners that truncated their life spans?...

Were they from planet Mars?

.....PLS Lets be as Straight as they come here.
Merging civil service and so on does not equate to claiming the resources of the nation by one region when in control of the government.
That, to me, is 'taking the candles' that belonged to the nation.
PoliticsRe: 'Let’s Go Our Separate Ways, Form Separate Countries’ - Dokubo-Asari by Obiagu1(m): 3:32am On Dec 06, 2013
PLS answer wisely :

-Revenue formula or not, Wouldnt there be a high margin of possibility of the federalism that had existed to be maintained till present had Ibos not drew the first blood?
Don't try to be clever.
The fact is that the Igbo did not take the '9 candles' as claimed by Katsumoto, rather it was the North that took the candles.
PoliticsRe: 'Let’s Go Our Separate Ways, Form Separate Countries’ - Dokubo-Asari by Obiagu1(m): 3:18am On Dec 06, 2013
Katsumoto: Reply to what? Who changed the revenue formula?

Since you know the answer, why not enlighten me?
But I don't know that's why I asked.
PoliticsRe: 'Let’s Go Our Separate Ways, Form Separate Countries’ - Dokubo-Asari by Obiagu1(m): 3:12am On Dec 06, 2013
Katsumoto, I am still waiting for your reply.
PoliticsRe: 'Let’s Go Our Separate Ways, Form Separate Countries’ - Dokubo-Asari by Obiagu1(m): 3:03am On Dec 06, 2013
Katsumoto: The formula has been changed a few times. The better question is who vested all revenue in the FG and the FG to distribute to states and LG.
I think both are important. Who gave more chunk of the revenue to the Federal and who allowed the Federal to redistribute the remaining income to the states and LG.
PoliticsRe: 'Let’s Go Our Separate Ways, Form Separate Countries’ - Dokubo-Asari by Obiagu1(m): 2:54am On Dec 06, 2013

Pardon my ignorance but who actually changed the revenue sharing formula?

I think that is what i will relate to taking all 9 candles for himself.
PoliticsRe: 'Let’s Go Our Separate Ways, Form Separate Countries’ - Dokubo-Asari by Obiagu1(m): 2:43am On Dec 06, 2013
This shouldn't turn to 1966 coup and counter coup discussion that is a comfort zone for some people.

The fact remains, some people are unhappy with the union and want out.
So how do we go forward?
PoliticsRe: 'Let’s Go Our Separate Ways, Form Separate Countries’ - Dokubo-Asari by Obiagu1(m): 2:16am On Dec 06, 2013
atlwireles: Regionalism and fiscal federalism will work just fine. It worked from 1952-1966. Everyone says those were the best days. Then let's go back there.
Call it regionalism, call it confederation.
The closest acceptable option for us is the ability to control our own resources, our own fiscal and monetary policies and our own foreign affairs.

Any name is acceptable be it dissolution.
PoliticsRe: 'Let’s Go Our Separate Ways, Form Separate Countries’ - Dokubo-Asari by Obiagu1(m): 2:11am On Dec 06, 2013
The funny thing about this disintegration of Nigeria is that among the 3 regions in the South, SE is the most disadvantaged, yet we are not scared of disintegration and are ready to take our own destiny in our own hands.

We believe in our ability. You don't make progress without some suffering.

It's better for us to suffer to survive than to enjoy to die.
PoliticsRe: 'Let’s Go Our Separate Ways, Form Separate Countries’ - Dokubo-Asari by Obiagu1(m): 2:03am On Dec 06, 2013
shymexx:
However, to achieve the "confederation" status, you've to put disintegration on the table and use that as the bargaining chip for a compromise. Deal or no deal! wink

As for the raghead you cited - the guy's supporting the views of the other raghead-in-chief that was decapitated during the 1966 coup. His opinions are inconsequential.

Regionalism and fiscal federalism isn't going to work with Nigeria.
Now, I'm enjoying your posts...
PoliticsRe: 'Let’s Go Our Separate Ways, Form Separate Countries’ - Dokubo-Asari by Obiagu1(m):
shymexx: I'm going to be objective in this post.

Bruv, I'm Yoruba and I honestly don't understand why these Yoruba elites/politicians and the educated ones on nl are always scared of disintegration - despite being the most advantageous region in the country. I've been asking questions, yet the only answers I get seems to be about "Kiriji Wars"(Yoruba civil war) and how western and eastern Yoruba still have some friction. However, I honestly don't think that's enough reason to be scared about disintegration. And the darn civil war happened because the new "power" on the block, Ibadan, was trying to dominate everyone else back then - and the rest were not having it. So that excuse is just silly.

Perhaps, Yoruba's are benefiting from Nigeria. However, when I look at the SW - I don't think it's free from the curse of Nigeria. It's just as accursed as the rest of country. Despite the enormous potentials of the region. Yoruba's don't even need crude oil to survive - that's how blessed the region is IMO. And there's crude oil in the SW and loads of potential crude oil areas. So why are they scared of disintegration?

Anyway, when the rest decide to go their own way and take their destiny in their hands. Yoruba's would be forced to go create their own country. The madness is a tad bit sickening and silly now. I hate when people can't be independent for shit - always leaning on other people for survival, especially when the whole thing is just a never ending retrogression. Stand on your feet and take your destiny in your hands. And if you can't survive on your own - you don't deserve to live, period.

Shalom!
Kudos for your honesty.
I have never viewed it from the angle of a potential civil war in the SW.
I have always viewed it from the angle of economic uncertainty.
Like you said, that's not enough reason to remain in Nigeria. Nigeria is not working and we try to progress being a very inhumane and heartless society because love and oneness is not there.
Civil war fought in years back when Yoruba groups were still very much independent of each other is not likely to happen again when the groups are very much mixed now and see themselves as one.

We've not had a player who could score goals without many touches.

Iheanacho? Not really sure of that guy. I still have my concerns.
I hope he works harder defensively.

Yahaya: The best player in the U17 squad. I'm surprised Keshi didn't give him a chance now.

Nwakali: Second best player in the squad. Deserves a chance.

Isaac: I didn't watch much of him. So I can't evaluate him.

Alampasu: Deserves the call up.
