Education / Re: Injustice For Engineering Graduates, Corpers by obialinaeze(m): 8:49am On Mar 08, 2018
TemiGod:
*STUPIDITY OF OUR TIME THAT MUST BE ADDRESSED*

*Medicine and pharmacy students are collecting around #95000 or above during NYSC while Engineering students are collecting the same money as that of other faculties whose courses are run for four years. What is the benefits an Engineering students stand to get from his five years spell on campus with extremely difficult courses he took most of which are mass failure courses, the rate at which cannot be found in other faculties? That is what I called a faulty educational policy. The machines and tools used by both Pharmacist and medical doctors were designed by the engineers which means without the engineers the field of medicine and pharmacy cannot thrive. No Country's development is .measured by the work of medical doctor and pharmacist per se but by their production power which is strictly engineering dependent. That explain why Nigeria and other African countries are lagging behind in technological development. No country developed by treating her engineers like the way Nigeria treats theirs.*

*After taking MTH 101, 102, 104, 201 and 202, EEE 201, 202, MEE 203, 204, 205 and 206 which are all mass failure courses because of their application in science and technology of which no courses in every other faculties (medicine and pharmacy excluded) can be compared with them, the government still deem it fit to pay me #19800 that he paid political science students, economics, education students, Law students, English students, dramatic art students, accounting students and other non-technology students. An ordinary non technology students of tertiary institution has never failed any course throughout his time on campus except the extremely dull ones who cannot solve simple calculations and memorise simple theories. Continuation of such policy will never yield a positive development am afraid.*

*China developed by absolving into their economy their fresh Engineering graduates through giving them series of projects right from their time on campus to which they would find solutions to the problems (in project form) and that would in turn becomes their field of expertise they would dwell on with the government constructing an industry to that effect. That's how they developed.*

*Any country that neglect her engineering students will never taste true development. We are going to fight the useless policy until something is being done. This mediocrity has to stop.*

*Am advocating for a policy change. Engineering and Technology students deserves special treatment as there is no true development without engineers*

*By Salaam Taiwo Afeez*

please the mods should do the needful and move this to fp
where one can jejely enquiry the work of road side engineers and they can do it better.

Johnny, Don’t be a dick! Well, this is extraordinarily amusing, John played more than 250 games for Arsenal during the mid 1900 ‘s. In an extremely well-known article, a daily newspaper in London printed the headline saying “ARSENAL TO PLAY TOMORROW WITH DICKS OUT“. As hilarious as it might sound, it went ahead to be a huge joke, which wasn’t forgotten for a long time!

Gov Obiano of Anambra State stormed Nando on a surprise visit to inspect the ongoing construction work at the SARS Abube Nando Bridge.

The bridge links up the all important 4.5km inter senatorial zone road connecting Anambra Central from Onye Agu Abagana through SARS Junction, Awkuzu - Abube Nando into the Onitsha - Otuocha - Ayamelum road in Anambra North.

The governor who was very happy to have met the contractor on site and seriously working, witnessed the launching of beams on the bridge.

Already, 4.2km of the road has been asphalted signifying that the project will be delivered in no distant time.

You can imagine the joy within the hearts of the indigenes of the surrounding communities... it's a dream come true!

will be 21 by Oct this year and a 400l student in a fed university. I am an introvert and find it hard keeping conversations with the opposite sex though recently I have been managing to crawl out my shell and be more free with the opposite sex though that has not been easy.

I have not known any girl since my teenage years and I find it somehow unfulfilling to graduate next year without knowing any woman throughout my 5 years in the university I

This is the problem. Anytime I am with a girl in my room(I live alone offcamp) and wants to make a move I feel very uncomfortable to the extent that my stomach starts making some disturbing noises. I can't explain the reason for the fear because I am sure that the girl wants what I want and I am also 100% sure she won't refuse. This has happened multiple times.

Recently I had this bae in my room. she came to collect movies from my laptop. she had no bra on just a short gown and her nips was pointing with her curved backside showing in the revealing tight gown.

she was clearly in the mood as she sat beside me and placed her head on top my shoulder with her warm nips pressing hard against me. I was totally nervous and my body became very hot, I just didn't know what to do or how to start the action as fear gripped me. I just disengaged from her and pretended to get something from my kitchen.

So naira landers, I don't know why I can't summon courage to subdue a woman despite the glaring green lights. I can't explain the sudden fear and nervousness that grips me whenever I am with a potential F-mate.

pls I want to know if the fear is common with first timers or is there something biologically wrong with me?

pls I really need this advice.
I have served (nysc). I am 28 years and I am still a virgin and I am keeping it till marriage. Brother, try and keep your virginity.

This is wrong.

This is exactly what I was afraid of, and that all Northerners will be termed a Fulani Man and get attacked.

This is wrong. The attacks and killings should stop on all sides, because in conflicts every one is a loser.

Why can't we all just get along?I was born and grew up in the West and the Yoruba's have accommodated me very well.

I had my first 3 years of Secondary Schooling in the Old Sokoto State, and I lived with an Hausa family that took me as one of their sons.

I served and got my first Post-graduate degree from the East, and it is still the best time of my life,as I got treated as a son of the soil and many years later I still keep in touch and sponsor some youth programmes there.

How and when did all the love I experienced from these tribes to a stranger change?what are we doing to ourselves with all these hate?why do we hate each other so much?

Can we just get along please. If we do not get ourselves and act together, I see a Nigeria where our hate for each other will bring us all down.

God bless you for your helping hands. If people like you are many, someone like me won't be suffering.

Politics / Re: Why We Froze Gov. Fayose's Account - EFCC by obialinaeze(m): 9:53am On Jun 21, 2016
[quote author=kahal29 post=46768034]What Lawyers Say:

His account can be frozen—Sagay

The EFCC position was affirmed by Chairman, Presidential Advisory Committee on Corruption, Prof Itse Sagay, SAN, who said the commission had been empowered to freeze accounts or assets of anyone under investigation.

Sagay, who hinged his assertion on a Supreme Court verdict to buttress his point, said: “If the EFCC is investigating anybody and they have reasons to believe that somebody has acquired state assets for himself, they are empowered by the law to apply to a court to freeze those assets, including banking assets, pending the enquiry and possible trial. So, they have that power.

“For a governor, it is a unique situation, but the Supreme Court has already held that even if you enjoy immunity, you are also subject to being investigated. So, that would be one of the consequences of that investigation.”

EFCC can freeze a gov’s account during investigation —Ngige

Also throwing his weight behind Sagay’s submission, Chief Emeka Ngige, SAN, said: “If during an investigation the EFCC discovers that a particular account has been used for money laundering, the commission has the right to freeze the account pending the outcome of the investigation. It is not touching the account but just suspending the usage of the account.

“It does not matter whether the account belongs to a governor or not. I have said in the past that the Supreme Court had ruled in a past case that immunity shields governors from arrest and prosecution but not from an investigation.

“The apex court ruled that the governors have no immunity against investigation. The commission is empowered by the law to investigate governors and if in the course of their investigation, they find that an account has been used for money laundering they can freeze it.”

Lawyer and human rights activist - Tokunbo Mumuni, said:

“The fact that the governor is in power does not mean he cannot be investigated. This has been settled in the case of Fawehinmi vs. Tinubu. However, he has immunity from any prosecution. On the issue of his frozen account, if it is true, that means the anti-graft agency must have secured a valid court order. If this is not done, the exercise remains invalid and illegal.

“If the court feels that, indeed, there is a commission of a crime relating to the account or the owner of the account, the court has the power to freeze the account pending investigation. Like I said, there must be a valid order of the court, which must be the instrument to be executed.”

No big deal on frozen account —Chukwuma

Lagos lawyer, Nnamdi Chukwuma, said: “There is nothing big or serious about the freezing of an account belonging to a state governor. If it is his personal account, he is like any other bank customer, whose transaction is subject to extant laws. However, what is big is that the account cannot be validly frozen except there is an existing court order.

“The governor cannot claim political victimization, if the EFCC got a valid court order which will be based on the averment canvassed before the court. There is no court that can grant an order without being convinced of the facts presented before it.”

It’s illegal — Ozekhome

It is illegal and unconstitutional for the account of a sitting governor to be frozen while in office. The governor enjoys immunity under Section 308 of the 1999 Constitution and for whatever purpose, his account cannot be frozen. Section 308 of the Constitution grants immunity to the governor and his deputy just as it grants immunity to the President and his vice-president.

“You cannot freeze the account of a President while he is still in office just like you cannot freeze the account of a governor while he is still in office. You can wait till he leaves office. Since he enjoys immunity, the same thing applies to his finances and all his property.

“My take on this matter is that we should be very careful so that we don’t over-stretch our democracy or overheat the polity. The last time I checked, we are supposed to be operating a constitutional democracy that thrives on the rule of law as observers of human rights and not military dictatorship. I plead with President Muhammadu Buhari to call the EFCC to order as they are making Nigeria a laughing stock in the eyes of the international community " what is happening in Nigeria?
