To be honest, most of you newbies ask already answered questions. If y'all genuinely wanna study in Germany, Research is one quality you should exhibit. Most of what is needed is on the first page of this thread. People asking for requirements should understand that different schools have their different criteria.

The least y'all can do is to check DAAD website which has option filters to help you out.

I handed over my passport, health insurance (Mawista) to the Germany embassy today here in Dubai and would be ready for collection on Monday morning.
I first sent an email for appointment on Sept 11, got a reply Sept 13 with appointment for Oct 7, and a decision mail Nov 3.
The problem is not our nationality but our Nigeria as a place!
It's sad and I pray you get the visa before scheduled exams for Winter 2020. A mate from Vietnam also got approval yesterday after applying in Sept.

You see what I was talking about. It doesn't end with y'all going to protest, the Germans are seeing current events in the country and regard the country as a dysfunctional place from where they can receive people. It's very political

I guess it's simply because you're a Fresher. A graduate has atleast proved him/herself by getting a degree

I have been having online lectures with full participation as well as presenting findings using WebEx. Try the app. Nigeria situation with AD is rather unfortunately. However, there's still restrictions in Germany. Most states in Germany will be locked down soonest for another month. Let us keep praying. All is well!

Is the school's request for a letter of motivation different from the one taken to the visa office?

They're different letters in the way that they are addressed differently but you can have some composition similarities. In my 2 letters, I hyped up the city where my school was located to appeal to their conscience

It's definitley the Pandemic (though other Political reasons dey one side). The current news coming from Germany about the tighter Lockdown measures gives it credence.
As I book appointment since April with 1st October for school resumption and the time has elapsed with no response, we wait another year. Hoping to be 3rd time lucky

Hello everyone, kindly advice me please.

I had AD before the pandemic which was canceled, I was told they'd reschedule me after the pandemic. The AD was for summer and now summer's passed and I have AL for winter.

The embassy hasn't said a thing about rescheduling, they keep saying they haven't started yet. My question is, do you think I should book again? Even though they specifically said not to rebook and I now fall under category B.
Should I keep waiting or go ahead and book again? Or they don't want to reschedule because summer has passed? Please advice.

To be honest, I don't think anybody here can tell you the mind of the German Embassy in Nigeria. I also got admission and booked for Category B since April while my Enrollment supposed to be 1st October. Except any other MIRACLE happens, I've already reduced my expectations for Winter Semester 2020

RESEARCH RESEARCH!!! You just have to be searching on your own. Check DAAD and ERASMUS website. German study will have you doing a lot if study and research so better build the habit while you're still here

They are selectively picking out the scholarship guys and prioritizing their visa application.

If you are a new applicant for the future " abeg " try to get scholarship if you want to fall in the super category A. Easy access, no stress.

And when we asked they said they have not started giving appointment so who are they students being attended to " Scholarship" guys.

If y'all couldn't read the writings on the wall all these while, here you have it. Europe only wants your best brains and if you know how politics works, they'll never come out to say "We are denying VISA". Y'all think is to go and protest at their embassy? They know what they're doing, The Truth is bitter. If you want Germany ASAP, get a scholarship or just be patient.

From what I gather, the story goes it was a mistake made on the part of the Greek authorities when he was issued a passport.

He did not change his name to gain acceptance in the country he emigrated to.

This is exactly what happened. If you even check 2013 draft predictions, you'll see he's referred to as Adetokunbo. The mistake was from the passport processing. The issue is Greeks don't have d and b in their alphabets so when you transcribe Adetokunbo in Greek, NT replaces D and MP replaces B. Antetokounmpo is still pronounced as Adetokunbo in Greek but Americans just pronounce the name as it's written

What I know is that, the embassy will chose when to start visa processes, they decide who gets the visa and when. Even with diplomatic passport, they can deny visa.

Embassy will not act on the fact that you have other means to fly (which are illegal). They will act based on the official information received from your government.

Since February, my friend just got passport for her daughter last week, just because of the situation.

You are righting Berlin while your own embassy in Berlin just start work fully.

House o, I've been off radar for a while and I'm just returning to this German matter. Please, I heard one has to book Appointment Date now for Winter sememster. Application hasn't even started for admission. Can someone please put me through?

LOL, I remember sleeping on the previous thread last year. Learnt everything about the application process in that thread. From certifying documents (thanks dailydolar and heybaby12), searching for courses on DAAD, utilizing UniAssist to apply, writing online English test on short notice and getting admission, booking interview, revising interview questions and going for the interview. Got Approval mail But No funds . God knows best why it didn't work out last year but I still thank Him for the experience and hope for the best. For everyone trying out this year, I wish you the very best.
