Sorry for post my review on THE SOCIAL NETWORK late.

justkunmi:
The King's Speech
Black Swan
The Fighter
. . and ofcourse the other movies already on queue

@justkunmi
Anyone is fine by me.

Why is THE SOCIAL NETWORK getting a lot of low ratings here?

THE SOCIAL NETWORK was good if you ask me. Great acting from the likes of Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Armie Hammer, Rooney Mara and surprisingly Justin Timberlake. The story is based on a book called Accidental Billionaires.

The direction was good as well. Nice job David Fincher.

I'll give it an 87% rating.

@JK
Seems like a lot people like only action movies. But to me most of the action films that came out last year sucked eg. THE EXPENDABLES. Why can't action films be as cool as DIE HARD or HARD BOILED?

So, what are we reviewing next?

THE KING'S SPEECH & INCEPTION were the major winners at this year's Oscars with 4 awards.

THE KING'S SPEECH won Best Picture, Best Actor (Colin Firth), Best Director (Tom Hooper) and Best Original Screenplay.

INCEPTION won Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing, Best Visual Effects and Best Cinematography.

Other winners include THE SOCIAL NETWORK with 3 awards, ALICE IN WONDERLAND and TOY STORY 3 both won 2 awards.

@ijaw_girl & Sisi_Kill
Well done. I watched it live as well but I could post comments as at the time.

I just knew THE KING'S SPEECH will win Best Picture.
So, its 4 awards for THE KING'S SPEECH and INCEPTION. But THE KING'S SPEECH won most of the major categories like Best Picture and Best Director.
Its too bad TRUE GRIT won nothing despite all the nominations.

Congrats to all the winners.

@justkunmi
I doubt if INCEPTION will win Best Picture at the Oscars today. It might go to either THE KING'S SPEECH or THE SOCIAL NETWORK.
But I'm sure INCEPTION will win the Best Visual Effects category unless . . .

@Ogaga4Luv
INCEPTION was cool jare.
Whether complex, technical or confusing, INCEPTION is one of best films of 2010.
Have you seen 'FASTER PUSSYCAT! KILL! KILL!'?

THE LAST AIRBENDER wins 5 awards which includes Worst Picture and Worst Director at the 31st Golden Raspberry Awards.

@vescucci
The Golden Globes can be quite weird in terms of nomination. Sometimes I wonder why THE TOURIST got 3 Golden Globe nominations?

THE SOCIAL NETWORK. Cool.
I'll post my review tomorrow.

A friend of mine told me a film called PRIMER is more complicated than INCEPTION.
I'll go and check it out.

@lawyerchap
Nice predictions. Lets see what happens on Oscar night. 'Biutiful' may not win Best Foreign language film.

-SKYLINE - Its better to watch INDEPENDENCE DAY than this garbage. Why was it made in the first place?

-THE DISAPPEARANCE OF ALICE CREED

SKYLINE(2010) Nonsense. Trash. Garbage

WackyJ1:
Why do we have to wait? If it was in Nigeria we would have had those two sequels by next month

@WackyJ1

House
Psych

vescucci:
The Tourist turned out the most disappointing film ever. I suppose the script looked good but it was a poor film in the end to make the inevitable first meeting of Depp and Jolie. It looked like a Brett Ratner film. Predictable as hell. Sucked.

semid4lyfe:
The Tourist was a big disappointment

I mean you expect so much or at least certain expectations to be met from a movie starring Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie

@vescucci & semid4lyfe
The only good thing about the movie was the ending. Not a fantastic movie just ok.

12 Monkeys (1995) was weird. At least its better than Brazil (1985).

the list continues:
Donnie Darko (2001)
Eraserhead (1977) David Lynch!!
A Clockwork Orange (1971) Stanley Kubrick is a legend in making weird movies.
Shutter Island (2010)

I'll be checking out "Vanilla Sky" soon. **rushes to store to buy headache pills**
so we have to wait till 2014 n 2015
@ijaw_girl
Yes!!

Brazil (1985)
Ghost in a Shell (1995)
Blade Runner (1982)
Memento (2000) Christopher Nolan!! What more can I say.
Mulholland Drive (2001) Na wa for this David Lynch man sef.
2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) You have to be really really patient with this one.
Inception (2010) Christopher Nolan again!

ikechukz:
'vampire sucks' d movie really sucks more than vampires.worst comedy movie i've ever watched.

@ikechukz
Agreed!!!

The 83rd Academy Awards takes place on Sunday February 27 2011 at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles California.
Its co-hosted by Anne Hathaway and James Franco.

I must watch this one live on cable.

@vescucci
Nice thread. But why dedicate to only iice?

@ijaw_girl
"Avatar" will have two sequels coming out 2014 and 2015.
Who knows, maybe the sequels will be better than the first.

@spikedcylinder
Is it "Tom and Jerry: The Movie (1993)" ?

@Emmz

I don't have time to write long review for Scott Pilgrim vs The World.

Wack storyline, cartoonish fight sequences and nice visual effects, I didn't like this film so much.

I'll just rate it 69%.

vescucci:
Did you cross check the rest or only that one jumped out at you?

Pulp Fiction – 70%
Inception- 95%

@vescucci
"Inception" actually got an average of 85%. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-262653.1728.html#msg6598833
"Pulp Fiction" got 93%. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-262653.1632.html#msg6562387

Salt- 97%

@justkunmi

semid4lyfe:
Let's do Scott Pilgrim Vs The World please

E don tey wey I unleash the dragon and I bin don add some new adjectives to my vocab since that time

@semid4lyfe
I can't wait.

vescucci:
Choke. Choke. I can't breathe. Choking.

@vescucci
Na wa for you.

@topic
The King's Speech (2010)

So, "The Tourist" was abandoned.

Vieira:
Scott pilgrim
Green Zone
Max Payne

I'd rather review "Green Zone". The rest sucks.

vescucci:
Any Bookmaker would put odds of exactly 1 on Colin winning the Oscar. 127hours was ok but it wasn't all that jare. It was like a comedy and it shoulda been a moving tragic tale.

@vescucci
Are you sure it was 127 Hours you watched? Did you see it to the end?
Matrix revolutionz was released the same year with matrix reloaded -three months after matrix reloaded actually~
@ijaw_girl
Thank you for replying vescucci's question. I'm surprised Vescucci didn't know when matrix revolutions came out.
Its all good.

@vescucci
The original Star Wars movies released between 1977 to 1983 were far better than the 1999 to 2005 parts. Jar Jar Binks sucks.
