All the 1992 - 1993 sets in south east are now dead except okwesilieze nwodo of enugu state. Enugu also have the only surviving governor of the '79 set in the entire country in person of Chief Jim nwobodo who is still politically active
Ogbonna onu' s death surprised me given that he was the youngest of them all

RIP to him

We have 2 mil ijaws in bayelsa,1.5 mil in rivers,700k in delta,100k in aks,100k in Edo and 400k in ondo.
We have 1.6 mil Igbos in delta,700k in rivers

1.6m lgbos in Delta ? Do you know the estimated population of Delta state ? It currently stands at 7m and anioma having 9 out of 25 local government should tell you something.
Igbos can't be less than 2.5m in Delta state, also consider that about 300k igbos from south east resides in Delta state.

As for Rivers, I don't know anything about that side and I don't chuck my mouth in what I don't know but generally I believe that igboid tribe are no 1 in terms of population in south south

As at 2009 - 2012 when I lived in a community in Anambra, at least 50 percent of houses in the community has boreholes and them made it free for everyone as long as there is light to pump water.

Anyone that tries to sell water in that community will attract a bad name for himself

In my three and half years of staying in the community, l never spent Kobo on water despite that our house didn't have a borehole.

Mg God so where are people from ibadan, ekiti, osun , ogun,?
My brother, when I was doing my NYSC, I met a lot of them . You can't imagine about 8 Yoruba corpers all claiming to be from Lagos still Lagos has the least number of indigenous residents.
In their sober moment, they will tell you the truth about their real state, Wale a man in his late twenties told me that he is from Ogun but only visited once when his father took him there as a kid and to think that Ogun is a stone throw from Lagos made me shook my head.

On the other hand, Gbenga who is from ekitit said he never visited at all
Very pathetic set of people

Well said on this needlessness of raking up of old issues.

Just to tag on to your post though, Ojukwu is on record as saying he understands why Awolowo did not pull Ala Yoruba out of Nigeria as he would have done the same in his shoes and has no bitterness towards him as a result. There is a video on the internet to that effect.
Well, I am not here to debate that, my concern is that for the past 10 years that I joined this forum, there is no single year or every six months that we won't see this topic on nairaland, likewise 1966 coup but after all said and done, we will only end up insulting ourselves as nobody will be convinced from either side, so why can't we move on

Tomorrow FFK will say his own and it will grace the front page and we will start all over again.
For how long shall we continue to run within a circle. ? .
In this country pinions have already been shaped and trying to convince anyone is like pouring water on a stone - it doesn't penetrate .
Politics / Re: Awolowo Never Betrayed Igbos During Nigeria’s Civil War – Bode George by Objectivist04: 8:14am On Apr 11
Nigerians, when are we going to get over this issue, every time we keep digging up invents if sixty years ago.

The truth is that we need to move on because no amount of repetition will change an already formed opinion.

The yorubas believe that Awolowo did not betray igbos and not even Ojukwu waking up from dead to debunk it will change their stand while the igbos believe that Awolowo betrayed them and even if Awo himself should wake from the dead to narrate his own part of the story, igbos will not believe him.

Seeing that the above is true, why are we disturbing ourselves by always digging up these stories to debate ? Are we not tired of all these ?

You see what Obi commissioned in the north ? You can find more than 100 of it's type in Agulu alone as almost every compound has a borehole.

Nigeria problem is beyond Peter OBi our problem is the system of government we are practicing which is Democracy. America that invented Democracy doesn’t practice it the way we are practicing it here but some of the elements we retained it and choose another way. A typical example if you follow the untied state system of government very well you will see that 2 party dominated Democrat and republican two different ideologies same thing here in Nigeria but our own ideology is tribal and power. Nigeria system of government play power too much every opportunity to use the power they make use of it. Look at the state governors look at the senators everyone play power to their advantage they don’t give a damn to any masses so now tell me how will OBi solve Nigeria problem
Did l hear you say America invented democracy ?

Exactly.. the Northern masses that desire positive change voted for the right man to do the job.
I see revolution coming soon to the North.. this crop of Northern elders will get the shock of their lives soon.
The question is when did northern masses start voting independently without the direction of their leaders ? .

He who lose the endorsement of northern leaders have lost the votes of northern masses

Tinubu might be stoned in the north during campaign.

The point is that while you lots are on Nairaland arrogating yourselves the job of spokespersons for the north, the real northerners are noticing what is happening and are getting impressed.

Now your silly propaganda of Peter Obi hates the north will no longer stick.

Conduct elections today in Nigeria and you'll see the figures Tinubu will get from the North.

Before you start wailing rigging, Atiku is also from the north but he has never gotten block votes from the region ever since he started contesting. It was even last year that he did well because he won Katsina and Kaduna.

Tinubu jazz too strong. Forget all these talk

This guy came out to say it was his turn to be president and instead of us to rally round a strong opposition and ensure that sense of entitlement is not allowed in our leadership position, one idiot instead sprung out from no where and said he has all the solutions to Nigeria's problems since 1900. Unfortunately, an average Nigerian is dumb and emotional, so the idiot was able to easily convince them with dubious figures and emotional manipulation, thereby splitting votes for Tinubu to easily coast home to victory.

For Tinubu to make that declaration and he achieved it, he has won my vote for next election if God keeps me alive.

The baba weh weh de cook Tinubu jazz too strong. If I sabi that baba I go go patronize am sure
O boy , this Obi hatred is real o but kwankwaso also left PDP and contested on a different platform and you Agbadorians rated him above Obi, so isn't he supposed to have caused more damage than Obi ? So why wailing about Obi but quiet on kwankwaso whom you rated above Obi , shebi there is something you don't want to tell us ?

Northerners are very good in politics. Decoy is one of their most treasured fortresses. Politics is not as basic as the usual buying and selling of okirika clothes and spare parts. It goes far beyond that. It is also not about mounting 500 litre GP tanks in some places.
You are right politics is not about gulping Amala and ewedu nor sharing agbado and that is why notherners have dumped emilokon like hot potatoes

Define genocide and you will see that it's your Jewish slave masters that have been commiting genocide since 1947.

Besides majority of those killed at the concerts on October 7th were mowed down by IDF helicopter gunships.

Hence , why netayanyu and his genocidal maniacs in the IDF are killing Israeli hostages taken by Hamas since they will expose what truly happened on October 7th.

IDF has so far killed over 200k civilians in Gaza in what is documented as brazen attacks on civilians.

But here you are redefining the word genocide.[/quote

Islam and cheap lies, if they will expose what happened on oct 7 why are Hamas holding them, why not release them so they can expose what happened.
Are Hamas terrorists now protecting isreal by not allowing those hostages to go and expose their sworn enemy isreal ?
The truth is that all lies and all propaganda have failed in this war, hide in the midst of civilians and all of you will be wiped out, no amount of genocide cry will deter isreal this time around,l. They have called bluff of world powers and UN it is now fight to finish.
Hamas must be eliminated and no power on earth can stop that.

Dear Akwuobi,

Thank you for your feedback. Actually, this is not a competition. I was only setting the record straight about a false attribution on Nollywood, which was brought on my TL on X.

Having said that, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, which is a public corporation, and Statisense, which is a private firm, the wealthiest part of Nigeria is the Southwest. The zone with the highest average per capita income is also the Southwest.

Ondo state has the same population as Enugu state, but Ondo's internal GDP is more than double that of Enugu. Ondo has the same GDP as Anambra, although Anambra has a larger population. How do you explain that? Ondo did not have a seaport for years. They just got approval for one in 2023, which is not yet operational. So, their economy is not import-dependent. It is built on agriculture and manufacturing.
...........

Thanks again, and may God bless you.

#TableShaker
Lol, Ondo has the same GDP as Anambra ?
You guys allow this fugitive of a man to be deceiving you, ok if it is all about GDP lmo GDP is times 4 that of Ondo, lmo has by far more gas deposit than Ondo and have more educated populace than Ondo,. even physical development, imo is ahead.
So how comes Ondo has less poverty than imo

Even when Nigeria had regional system when there were few foreigners, SW was the most prosperous. You and I know this. Cut the pretence.
Ondo can never be more prosperous than Anambra, Abia, lmo and enugu., all these are false statistics.
Some two years ago they used to project osun and Niger as the states with less poverty but this time around both of them didn't make top 10, so the question is what then happened to those states ? The answer is that they were never in that position,
Now they have started using Ondo, the bubble will soon burst.
The truth is that there is no way a typical Yoruba state will have less poverty in this country with the rate of laziness in that region. You can't have the list poverty rate and all your houses are dilapidated with mud walls.

Leave it igbos out of this, the person he replied is a Yoruba person and he was very ryt in his response.
