Yoruba Muslims were never happy since that airstrip was approved and they have to push it to the national assembly. The deep division between Yoruba Muslims and Yoruba christians is something else. |
ckenneths:Anybody saying that flyover is not necessary does not know the place. Among all the five roads that connects Enugu city, Enugu Abakalili road is the busiest . Note that people from benue, taraba , Adamawa etc now use the road while going to Onitsha and Aba for business so as to avoid the 9th mile Makurdi road which is in a terrible state. From that flyover to inside the city should be six lanes with 8th lane service as service lane . |
Atuero:My brother let us tell ourselves the truth, I have been around since 1999 and can aptly rate all the governments since then. Ugwuanyi abandoned enugu city in the name of focusing on the rural area so we expect an outstanding performance from him at the rural area but apart from udenu and Nsukka I can boldly tell you that Sullivan and Chimaroke did better than him in other local governments. For example Chimaroke opened up enugu Ezike by constructing the Obollo Afor ogrute road which is about 12 kilometers , , Sullivan reconstructed nsukka Enugu Ezike road which is more than 20 kilometers. These two roads opened up Enugu Ezike and some part of igbo Eze south,. Is that what you want to compare with Ugwuanyi whose choice of road to construct depends on the prominent politiciam that lives along the road ? He constructed four roads in enugu state but all of them are not up to 12 kilometers. Ugwuanyi will be constructing roads in phases , village road o, he will do 1 km and call it phase 1 then later come for second and call it phase 2, for God's sake which serious governor does that ? As for ero Agu and unadu that you mentioned, nothing was done in those communities and I am telling you because my part of enugu Ezike shares boundaries with the two communities.. The proposed construction was on paper but didn't hit ground until he left office. Mba said he will do 10km of road per ward , even if he ended up doing only 5km , per ward, by the time he will leave office he would have done at least 70 killometers in each local government. Ugwuanyi is indefensible because he failed. He is building fire service in ogrute when what we needed was road infrastructure and health. I only gave him kudos in terms of education, yes he tried in that aspect for both primary, secondary and tertiary but in the area of infrastructure, he failed except in Nsukka and udenu not talking about how he left enugu without doing anything in the capital. |
EmekaA125:We are saying the same thing, enugu and infact no state in the south east is poor. When you have the human capital there is no way you can be poor |
Yvngex:Stupid question |
Atuero:Keep deceiving yourself, if Ugwuanyi has actually done anything in the rural areas , he would have won his senate election hands down . Apart from Idenu and Nsukka town tell me where he did anything meaningful. In Igbo Eze north he did less than 15km of road in eight years, in Igbo Eze south it is even worse, what about Igbo Etiti ? And that is fore a government that prides itself as rural oriented. I don't even want to talk about other zones because they received less . Ugwuanyi was a failure and unfortunately has gone down as the worse governor in Enugu state. |
Atuero:He didn't do much in terms of rural roads, despite neglecting the city in the name of focusing on rural roads. By the time Mba completes his four years, he would have by far outperformed Ugwuanyi in terms of rural roads not to talk about cities |
OkoAmarashy:.I don't know the reason for these unnecessary comparison, Abia is constructing some roads with 6ft drainages Which are covered and you think it is not a big deal ? I am from Enugu state but we don't have the type of flooding challenge that Abia do have so it should be a thing of joy for Abians if the menance of perennial flooding is being takled by providing quality drainages. The two states are not competing pls |
WizardOfNG:He lied and I bursted his lies, so I don't understand what you are vomiting here , either you prove me wrong or you run along. |
Biodun556:What concerns me with Abia, I busted your lies where you said that no state in SE can pay more than 70k and instead of accepting that you goofed you are asking me about Abia. Is that the bone of contention ? Lagos (a common patrimony) is una saving grace for that region. Ogun with all her IGR can't even pay 80k . |
[quote author=Biodun556 post=132647915]May be you are AI and not human "Supporting your people " "attracting investors kill economy" Even when Ogun state igr is bigger than the whole South East igr combined How many South East governors can pay 75000 naira minimum wage? Stop disgracing yourself, Enugu is paying 80k , Ebonyi is paying 75k while Abia and Anambra are paying 70k . Imo have not yet anounce their own while in south west apart from lagos paying 85k, no other state is paying up to 80k not even your almighty Ogun . Ekiti , osun and Ondo will struggle to pay 70 |
Biodun556: |
Slic1:Chimaroke actually recommend him to gburugburu, Chima is a genius when it comes to identifying quality leaders. |
eldoradoxx:Enugu is not a poor state, a state among the top 10 in terms of IGR can not said to be poor. Enugu as a state has never been poor and can not be |
okoloto:I don't understand you, opening what exactly ? We are talking about an existing road which is also in good condition and very busy , Mba is only dualizing it but you are commenting as if he is building a virgin road through the bush |
princepee:If you remove Enugu city (3 local governments) and isi Uzo, what remains for nkanu ? Someone is doing an infrastructure critical to the state and you are sectionalising it . Out of that 43km about 18 to 20 kilometers lie within enugu east local government. The construction of the same road by Sullivan Opened up Nike villages susch that you now lands inside the village going for 20m and above not to talk about those along the express or just close. Flats are being rented for 600 to 800k now in areas that used to be a typical villages with few none indigenous peasant farmers living there. Make una try to dey get sense for una comment abeg. |
Homeboiy:No, he joined Chimaroke's administration in 2003 not 1999 while Soludo became presidintian economic adviser in 1999. Again Soludo senior him as a governor with 14 months which I think is what the person you quoted meant. Mba is really doing well, by next year we will select who among him and Alex Otti is the best |
EmekaA125:.you contradict yourself by saying that South East thrives by IGR and still talked about most of the IGR being siphoned . So if most of the funds are going into private pocket how then are they thriving by such ? Anambra's IGR for last year 2003 is just 30b and I don't think such amount can finance any mega project in today's Nigeria. Note that informal sector which is the dominant in Anambra does not generate much IGR as you think. What generates significant IGR are fg institutions like schools , airports , hospitals etr, multinational companies, corporate businesses like banks, shopping malls, eatries , private universities etc The above is the reason why Kaduna generate more than Kano despite the heavy commercial activity in Kano , also why Ogun generate more than Oyo given that Oyo is more commercialized than Ogun and enugu ahead of Anambra despite Anambra having two commercial cities while Enugu has none. The person you quoted is right, south east thrives by foreign repatriation not IGR because the IGR of enugu in 2003 which happened to be the highest in south east is just 33b which is half of what Edo generated same year and quiet insignificant, just equivalent of 2 months FAAC allocation to the state not to talk about Ebonyi that generated just 4b on the said year. Foreign remittance and FAAC does the magic not any imaginary IGR |
With or without natural resources anioma state will do well. Note that they have the highest human capital resources in Nigeria Talking about people like Ned nwoko Tony elumelu Nduka obaigbena Pat utimi Austin okocha Jim ovia Ngozi okonjo lweala Just to mention but few unlike their fellow ogogoro deltans |
Ringstonermask:Okowa has more political relevance than Osinbajo in 2015, more than Jonathan in 2007, and probably more than Shettima in 2023. The only wining vice president that had more relevance than Okowa was Atiku himself, so I don't think that was the problem. |
Localemperor:"Distant third" was actually my problem, in as much as I totally agree that Sullivan is ahead, it isn't with wide margin. Chimaroke built institutions in Enugu state even his loots were invested within the state .. |
Localemperor:I thought the terminal will be multi floor like that of Lagos or even the one seyi makinde built in Ibadan. We need a grand project in Enugu state, I mean first class infrastructures like the ICC. |
Localemperor:You can't say Chimaroke came distant third, the truth is that the guy is being misjudged. Remove his doctorial brand of politics and I can tell you that the man really tried in enugu state. Note that Chimaroke took over from the military when there is no infrastructure and started laying the foundation for which his successors are building upon. During his regime, he attracted the Nigerian Brewery, made use of his closeness to president Obasanjo to see that the perm site for UNTH was started and completed. Other direct achievement from him include ESUT Parklane Teaching Hospital ESUT perm site at Agbani Agbani law school Ebeano tunnel Ebeano housing estate Dualization of Chime avenue Dualization of four corner Agbani road Construction of Obollo Afor Enugu Ezike road These are the few I know because I was not in Enugu during his tenure, He also started but could not complete the now about to complete international conference center The hospital close to the conference center. In terms of making or detecting good leaders, Chimaroke has no rival, note that he was the one that selected both Sullivan and Peter Mba The only governor he had no say about his emergence was Ugwuanyi and you know how he ended up. I am not a fan of Dr Nnamani but I believe he is not given the honour due him but then he ruined everything by his high handedness which I believe his Young age was a factor coupled that he had no predecessor to learn a lesson from. |
It is right to say that this administration is anti women, why sacking mostly women upon the fact that they are just 30% of the appointee not forgetting that Betta Edu was earlier axed |
immortalcrown:Everything has gone upward , you don't expect government to still be collecting 100 from Keke operators in 2024 when a drop now is 300. Making it possible for them to pay at ease using their phones and at their convenient time so long it doesn't exceed 3pm is an added advantage. Anambra is collecting about 1k daily from Keke drivers while Lagos collects about 2k |
immortalcrown:You are right but harmonized payment has its own merits, maybe you have never been harassed by these revenue collectors, especially those from the local government especially ndi Nike in Enugu east local government and eswama. The worst thing that can happen to you a business owner is to encounter revenue collectors who are actually collecting for their pockets not for government because the desperation and agressiveness will be out of this world |
Vado:But arms are being smuggled into Gaza as I type or are you saying Hamas have been fighting all these while with the supplies they had since last year ? Again I think Egypt would have granted sinwar access to pass on his way to Qatar if he had tried such earlier by the way other Hamas chiefs like Hanenia and co migrated from Gaza to Egypt at the onset of the war |
Depriest2020:Peter Obi never built a flyover in Awka , the only flyover he built was at Nkpo junction |
COOL10:But don't you think it would have been better if they have captured him alive ? I don't know why they should shoot him again since he was already injured and weak,. It would have been a great feat to capture him alive |
id4sho:I am a pro isreal but are you saying he couldn't have left Gaza even before isreali troops entered Rapha ? |
Anambra is becoming a den if cultists, competing with imo on who becomes the most insecure in south east. Soludo should leave whatever mediocre development he is pursuing in the state and focus on security. . |

Trying to please nsukka zone because of their electoral value.
Each time I talk about the substandard projects the governors and politicians from the south east gives her people, some of them always demand for my head, for daring to mention it.
