Dear all why are some footprint farther from us and yet we still get them working on our dishes while some very close but very difficult to go green the likes of arabsat or badr 26 from lyngsat map they are very close but still no story from it but take hotbird for instance the map is higher north on the map and still we get it with good signal quality.nilesat is possible but yet atlantic 4A refuse to go green.
Baadaru,olofofo,adewest,pito and george over to you.From what i see if hotbird is possible all other birds should.I am talking about 2.4m dish here and not 2.4m and above dish like 3m etc

anybody on hotbird?Novasport7 is on on echolink.still watch it this morning but my jsc card on hotbird fail to show again.still cant find out wat d problem is .imagine i still watch it till late last night.

olofofo and adewest thanks i was able to hit 52-54% at peak on my jsc on hotbird.At 48-50% the cracking is minimal and the picture is not bad either.Thanks so much

olofofo, any improved lnb for that jsc hotbird may be like 0.1db

so what exactly can i do to make the signal pump up a little bit, now its 10.45am the signal is flunctuating between green and red 46-20% at peak i get stable 50%-48%.

Adewest its not motorised just the normal ground mount.

ola my jsc signal on hotbird is 48-50% anytime from 7.pm and above till early morning like 8am.at noon their will be no signal at all.on echolink receiver the signal is ok at least no weak signal recorded even at (21-28%) on echolink. skysports,sky calcio,novasports and other channels signal very much ok.

is badr really posible here in lagos and environs?I tried everything possible after nailing hotbird but to no avail.My astra 2d on 2.4m was absoultely amazing 100% signal quality but on badr nothing seems coming up .Pito I think i will need your advise here.

pito,if nothing seems to come up on my jsc on hotbird i may likely change to badr 6.I think we should get it much better than hotbird because based on lyngsat beam map badr is closer to us than hotbird and if we can get hotbirds here nothing stopping us .i will give it a trial.

all in my quest to nail hotbird in sagamu,it was a sweet experience,all transponders came up except jsc +1-8 on 2.4m dish.I purposely wanted the jsc channels and to add feathers to my cap at least nailing the long range bird with my 2.4 m cannon(GUN).

Olofofo and pito thanks a million but i need to work on my jsc tonight and if nothing good comes up may be i will consult specialist in badr 26E in respect of pito.
My highest transponder goes 70% some 60% some 40% (no cracks) and my jsc jump from green to red 23-48%

pito, can SD work like HD.

comparing etv south africa with multi tv well neither etv nor multi tv is bad but if you are to compare the cost of viewing the too i think viasat1 is better its mpeg2 but you need 1.8m to track it .You can enjoy Nigerian movies,sitcom,series,current american movies and comedy on that channel and moreso you can still enjoy cnn,france 24 and some epl though free to air.so i believe visat 1 is better.

issue of sport feeds well ,most people let me say 70% of people visiting this forum are not contributors in one form or other .They are here just to get information and once the information is there they just enter satellite market and start telling dummies out there that their is a sport feed i can give you ,just pay me 5000 naira or 2,500 you will watch sport at no cost.
so they make much money than people who discover the feed .its bad.

repetitions of questions and anwsers already answered don tired old members of the forum most of them come out in a little while because they are pissed off about the so call newbies.

FSTV decoder doesnt come with auto blind scan ,u can make good use of it only if you know how to input frequencies into the receiver.I have one and its working fine,but the only problem is :you can use it to track signal its very poor.

viasat is better than etv but u need 1.8m to get the signal,sport,news,comedies,series etc just name it but no christain channel oooooo ,so i think its better for now.
lately their signal is misbehaving.
2m national is back with good signal on 90-100cm dish ,with 70% signal quality.

According to a latest Bloomberg article, some non-media companies may bid for the next 3-year Chinese television broadcasting rights to EPL after the contract runs out with WinTV, a pay-per-view channel run by state-owned Guangdong Provincial Television. And where to watch next? CCTV. Below are some excerpts:

A group of non-media companies may bid for Chinese television rights to English Premier League matches as the world’s richest soccer league tries to gain viewers to build its brand, an official said.

The move follows the failure of the current holder, local pay-per-view television network WinTV, to attract significant subscribers and the reluctance of state broadcaster China Central Television to pay a premium for the rights, Phil Lines, the Premier League’s head of international broadcasting and media operations, said in an interview.

“I have talked to some people who are possibly putting together a consortium of advertisers who would like to buy the product and take it to free to air (on CCTV),” Lines said.

He declined to reveal the companies involved, saying only that they were “world-wide brands” in the sporting goods, soft drinks and alcoholic beverage industries. The contract comes up in 2010. If successful, the bidders would give CCTV the rights in exchange for free advertising during matches, Lines added

Enny,the 2m is misbehaving,no premiership as earlier advertised on their web site.for real 2m is working fine but 2m national is the problem.i just dey enter house now after 2hour skewing and bolting on 1.8m dish still no signal ,all i got is 12% on 2m national and on the other 2m i got up to 60% and RDV 80%.Habi this hitv don go block the signal again?
try to track 2m national in the morning ,the signal always come up then but afternoon it goes off again.

George my 2m national hit 62% with 90cm but its on and off ,presently its off may be tomorrow morning it might come up again.but 2m on arryadia is ok with64%
