Duke all the way. If he was going to show any corrupt practices he would have done so in Cross River. the fact is he has vision, somethign sorely lacking from our other leaders. and he has it in bucket loads
TravelRe: ADC Plane Crash In Abuja by obong(m): 9:26pm On Nov 01, 2006
Obong, here below is the info regarding the 1998 crash of ADC:

On 29 July 1997 a BAC One-Eleven 203AE landing at Calabar overshot the runway and an engine caught fire. There was one fatality.

The two other fatal crashes happened in 1996 (Lagos) where 145 people perished, and obviously the recent one claiming 96 lives.

ADC also crashed its both DC-9-30s in Monrovia where the crew was attempting a landing during a torrential rains in both scenarios. Luckily nobody there died.

All in all ADC Airlines PLC crashed 5 aircraft (1994,1995,1996,1997,2006).

There's no way in the world ADC will survive this time. The show is over!

sounds like a lie my friend. 5 air crashes. whyisnt that being reported. i hae heard of 2 (1996 and 2006), on here people are saying 3 and now 5? c'mon!

Otokx and Obong,
You two are indeed representatives of our people. But, Obong, you'd do well to apologise to Chxta. I don't like his views about the Niger Delta people and leaders, but we sure can get some other juicy stuff from him. Let us not throw punches, so that we will not be seen as weaklings in putting forth our points to buttress what we believe.

thank you my brother, but if these guys r unafriad of lookin glike bigots, i am unafraid of looking 'weak' by pointing out these madness. besides they are yet to address my points about who has ruled th ND until recently
PoliticsRe: Solution To The Niger Delta Crisis? by obong(m): 7:57pm On Oct 05, 2006
It's said in china that when two people are arguing, the one who throws the first punch is the one who knows that his argument is weaker. You obviously prove that point. The truth is, you know nothing about chxta, all you can do is hazard a guess at his character, his temperament, his mien from his postings. So your insults are wild speculations at best.
Alas, they are insults, nonetheless. So unfortunately for you, we all know now that in reality you're a rude, uncouth, ill-mannered and shallow person. These are not insults, you understand.

you're a joke my friend. yes indeed nairalan is a place for intellectual conversatioons and genocide and bigotry. what facts have your raised?. you are talking about how i addressed him without going to the points i raised. fact is i know his character from his many blogs, well as least the character he presents here, and based on that he is a bigot.

misquoting the chinese does not make your position the correct one. kep dwelling on what you percieve as insults and dont address my points. only simple minds govern themselves with contradictory proverbs
PoliticsRe: Solution To The Niger Delta Crisis? by obong(m): 10:18pm On Oct 04, 2006
have you read any of my responses. the blame ca be shared certainly, but the bulk does not fall on the footsteps of the ND leaders. like i said give me facts.

how long have the ND leaders controlled the reasources in thier region as they do today. ?

who has destroyed the traditional ways of making a livelihood?

you can keep saying im chasing shadows or whatever, but i'll call all you bigots out one by one.
PoliticsRe: Solution To The Niger Delta Crisis? by obong(m): 9:50pm On Oct 04, 2006
chxta, clearly you're a bigot and a fool.

so 2 shell workers represent all. how do you know these guys even work there. for all your know its seun or you posing as these psoters. how long have the leaderrs of these regiosn controlled the resources that we are talking about. you wish to blame the condition of the delta on these few leaders that propped up recently after democracy. you think in 6or 7 years they can fix years if oppression and neglect.

all those speaking about the underdevelopment of the delta, tell me, how long have the local leaders had a hand in thier development. be honest.

bastards like chxta should be lined up and shot, or better yet, quartered.

and please stop promotting that stupid blog of yours
PoliticsRe: Solution To The Niger Delta Crisis? by obong(m): 11:54pm On Oct 03, 2006
Let's put it like this, the military option can solve the crisis, if and only if the people that implement it are cold hearted enough to take lessons set forth by Niccolo Macchiavelli, Deng Xiao-Ping and a certain Iosef Dzhugashvili. . .

I doubt that that can happen nowadays. Until later, I'm out people.

even that force wont work. the feds have to implement a plan. only ideas and results will defeat the ND militants. if they produce a donald duke liek effect on the ntire region people will stop carrying guns
PoliticsRe: Solution To The Niger Delta Crisis? by obong(m): 11:47pm On Oct 03, 2006
Good point, and my question is still unanswered, MR obong are you justifying this kidnapping and killing of soldier as a means of getting attention in this region? you can't compare apple to orange. the issue in South Africa is totally different than the one in Niger Delta, corruption is not the same thing as suppression, what are the senators from this region doing? what is the governor doing, this people were elected to speak for the people, and yet they haven't done a good job. so if you want to kill someone or kidnap someone, go after IBB, your governor, and the senators

in nigeria the ND are bein suppressed also. its not just corruption. when they arrest your civil leaders, hang them, ahoot them, bomb your communities, destroy your farm and fishing fields, among other things, its certainly opporession.

ok, i agree some of the leaders of the ND are to blame. but frankly until recently they havent been given much of the oil money. with an increasing share we can see some positive changes in that region. the distractions like alams is simply a ploy by obj to make that region appear corrupt. from all appearances obj has stolen more than alams

a military solution will not work, so try as you might to flush them out, it wont end. did it work in israel, or aparthied south africa? Fact is if they gov doesnt come to the table to develop the region this will go on.

Some other guys are already asking me to marrying them but i've asked them to wait. I really love this guy am with but I can't wait for him forever can I? What do I do because i don't want to put the marriage pressure on him and at the same time, I want to settle down?

maybe this is the problem. if other guys are asking you to marry them, then ti appears that you have some sort of side relationship with those others guys and your boyfriend knows it and doesnt want anythign to do with you. idont see how these other guys want to marry you without you giving them something something

thankfully there are more sensible nigerians on here than foolish ones and they can see how great this is. development must come from all angels and this not only will open up chocalate sales to the tropics thereby oubling its potential market, but also raises the confidence of nigerians to do things.

this is non oil and shows we can create 'oil' with our brains.

for those whining about aids and malaria, what makes you think we aren't working on those things also?

Scientists Concoct Chocolate That Won't Melt

Chocolate is not widely consumed in the tropics, even though that's where most of the world's cocoa is produced.

The reason: It's too hot.

High temperatures in countries like Nigeria reduce chocolate into a sticky, gooey mess.

Food scientists have been trying to remedy this situation for decades, and now researchers in Nigeria believe they are close to achieving the holy grail among chocolate manufacturers: a heat-resistant chocolate that actually tastes like chocolate.

Melting point

Most brands of chocolate melt at temperatures between 77 to about 91 degrees Fahrenheit.

S.O. Ogunwolu and C.O. Jayeola, food scientists at the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria, have mixed cornstarch with cocoa to produce a heat-resistant chocolate that they say compares "favorably with conventional milk chocolate in terms of color, taste, smoothness and overall acceptability."

The starch acts as a chocolate thickener and prevents the outflow of cocoa butter—the natural fat of the cocoa bean—when the heat is on. The researchers found that using 10 percent starch was ideal and produced a product that was comparable to milk chocolate in taste tests.

The new concoction stays firm up to 122 degrees.

PoliticsRe: Donald Duke For 2007 Presidency? by obong(m): 2:21pm On May 31, 2006
duke is not perfect though, he has not performed wonderfully in the education sector and cross-river is still seen as one of the "educationally disadvantaged" states. also he is not all that detribalised( though by nigerian standard he is o.k, yet there are vestiges of tribalism in him. purportedly.) also, he has some scandals too. no evidence though, but a lot of people believe his hands are not clean in the issue of the death of his former deputy. these are all rumours. finally he is not that popular in his home state, especially with those from northern cross-river.

its good you pointed out tht these things are mere rumors and not the truth. ultimaely hs qualification from UPENN Law can be verified so I dont see the issue. the northern cross river peopel dont liek him because of nigerian ethnic issues. They want thier own man there, and not one frm the southern part of nigeria, despite the good things duke has done. and one of these good things is the job he has done in education, such as giving the young subsidized textbooks written by nigerian professors
