TravelAnyone Hear Ever Heard Of An Azawkh? by obong(op): 11:38pm On May 22, 2006
hello gang--

I love pets and i'm in the process of getting a dog (or two) and I want an azawakh (www.azawakh.com). They may go by different names in nigeria, but are essentially dogs from the sahel region. they arent many in north america but frankly i want to see if i can get one directly from africa since they offer a larger range of colors than those from europe or america.

any here from the sokoto area of nigeria or know anyone that can locate one of these dogs for moi. email me if you are able to help.

thanks

it's a good idea. the first thing i to contact an entertainment lawyer in nigeria to see how it'd work out. i imagine you can get the songs from the owner,s either the music companies or the producers themselves for a price. say 10% o fwhatever your download price is

PoliticsRe: Open Fight Between Obasanjo And Atiku: Bad For Third Term! by obong(m): 2:33pm On Apr 08, 2006
atiku is now a turncoat? at least we know you don't seek wahts best for nigerians. you are saying he is a coward, yet nigerians should stay away from one of the most important issues in our lives.

every politician is selfish, but so what, as long as he is doign what is best for nigeria. no policy, program o anythign will benefit nigerians if we cantt stabilise our democracy. atiku is a hero and needs backers

in light of what has happened, i can now see that obj did in fact give up charles taylor for hisown selfish gains. to endear himself to the west and not get opposition to hs 3rd term bid

its just an old cult, why is everyone so fascinated with tis xtianity stuff. its clear someone a long time ago decided what story would be told and what would not be, and today the same group is doing it again,. by diggin up old caves to find scrolls that were supposedly lost, just to further generate interest in this cult
TravelRe: Will Lagos Ever Be Like Abuja? by obong(m): 2:36pm On Apr 06, 2006

TV/MoviesRe: South African Movie Industry Vs Nollywood by obong(m): 2:35pm On Apr 04, 2006
obong, you can'nt just admit the truth u have seen many post giving applause to our movies any way, we all have different ideas, did u c the latest for Leon Schuster (Mama Jack) its hilarious any way thats your opinion and if somebody deserve credit s/he must given that credit.

reba, you can't see the difference between style over substance. lik pointed out, its the same with literature. how many people hhave read gordimer or J.M. despite them winning the nobel prize. yet ask any africa about the works of achebe and soyinka and they know them well. same goes for south africa movies. they are good in style, but frankly the world, outside of the few prizes it wins in the wes,t isnt paying attention to SA movies. tell me, since no bollywood movie has won and oscar, would you consider the south african film indutry superior to indias?

but either way, it's a difference of opinion. hopefuly some blacksin south africa will also start making movies as well
TV/MoviesRe: South African Movie Industry Vs Nollywood by obong(m): 7:45pm On Apr 03, 2006
but how many peple bother to watch the south african movies, despite its accolades. ultimately the oscars are subjective. but people buying your movies in droves is likely a testiment to thier ability to connect with the audience
TV/MoviesRe: South African Movie Industry Vs Nollywood by obong(m): 2:56pm On Apr 03, 2006
without better protection for copyrighted materials, nigerians wont invest time and money in these pictures. the government has a hand in this area as well
PoliticsRe: Will Nigeria Ever Have A Female President? by obong(m): 12:13am On Apr 03, 2006
why do we need a female president. we need good president, regardless of thier gender. that weak women in liberia is a bad example of a good president
TV/MoviesRe: South African Movie Industry Vs Nollywood by obong(m): 5:12pm On Apr 02, 2006
Yeah. Our culture is too primitive. Example: there are educated Nigerian mothers who will tell their daughters who are being abused and almost killed by their husbands in front of their children that "suuru" (patience) is the answer. We see that in the movies too. The movies reflect the primitive state of our culture.

this is clearly someone that has never lived outside of his country of has any self respect for his culture. the same stupid advice that you say nigerian mothers give their daughters is given to american daughters by thier mothers. it has nothign to do with primitive culture, but stupidity. OJ simpson's wife was given the same advice by her family and she ended up dead.

nevertheless while i pray the quality of nigerian movie production improves, it has instrintic appeal becasue the stories are entertaining. even countries like ivory coast and senegal make better technical movies, but no one bothers to watch them because they are boring. though south africa makes good technical movies, and have won oscars, they are not that popular, despite the oscar tag. I hav had people from trinidad, jamaica, haiti, senegal, etc send me nigeria movies because they absolutely love them. Nigerian movies are akin to bollywood flicks, in that they appeal to a certain taste, one that seeks enertainmnt, moreso than merely technical skills.

Hopefully in time we improve the technical aspect, but don't lose the heart of story telling ability. think of it in terms of our literature. nigerians know how to tell a story. though south africa has more nobel prize winners, more people know of our writers like achebe, soyinka, ekwensi and the rest, and would have a hard time mentioning south african writers or pplacing them on the same level as nigerian writers

Obi's tenure will end in 2010, says Nnoruka

By Anene Ugoani (Enugu) and Rita Smith (Lagos)

Anambra State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Udechuwku Nnoruka (SAN), has said the implication of the judgment of the Court of Appeal is that Peter Obi's tenure will not end in 2007 but in 2010.

Nnoruka made the assertion while fielding questions from reporters at the premises of the Court of Appeal in Enugu shortly after the presiding judge, Justice Rabiu Mohammed, in the lead judgment, declared Obi the duly elected governor in the 2003 general elections.

Under the 1999 Constitution, he said, a governor's tenure is calculated from the date he took the oath of office.
