Will they charge you certain amount When contacting them through email.

LoyalRoyalty:
I can confidently say congratulations to you because from the information you got from UKVI, your visa has been approved. The current trend is for refusal letter to be sent via email to an applicant even before such an applicant receives passport collection mail from TLS. Since they told you that a decision has been made on your application without you receiving any refusal letter. Your visa has been approved. Congratulations once again. TLS has no official phone number. Here is the link you can use to contact TLS https://pos.tlscontact.com/los_en/contact-form?type=complaint

Biometric center?

twojul:
Hello everyone. I did my biometrics on the 8th of October and tomorrow 2nd November will make it 17th working days since. My planned trip is on the 26th of November. I haven’t received any emails for pick up or even refusal. Is it advisable to call or email tomorrow to find out what’s taking so long or should I just be patient. I’m worried they’ll hold that passport for too long and I need it to travel back to school on the 26th of December.

You are such a good writer..

Soknown:
There is an orientation program called preceptorship, through which the trust introduces its mode of practice to new staff, monitor the progress and allow feedback from new staff, It is a six-month program, The last class involves a presentation to the group and the facilitators. I made a PowerPoint presentation on time management in the delivery of healthcare, as there are a plethora of activities to be done within a short time-frame, I touched on prioritization, delegation, and collaboration in delivering safe and effective healthcare to patients.

A day prior to the submission of documents, we had a family meeting sort of, to discuss and take into consideration all factors that will enable a smooth and seamless process. We considered the weather, transport, clothing, documents, packaging, and food till everyone was onboard, and understood parts to be played. The children understand no jumping around in the name of playing.
On the day for the submission of documents at the consulate approved contractor in Ikeja, my family was there on time. They went through the document scanning, submission, and then biometric screening. It was not all smooth as I had painted it to them, as they spent about six hours. When they got back home in the evening i told my wife to start saying goodbye to relatives and friends. I told her that i paid for priority service which means they will get a response within 5 working days and truly four days later she got the SMS alert to come for collection.
Immediately I started looking for available flights against the next week. when i checked BA, it was cut-throat fair about £4000 for three, i asked if she wouldn't mind Turkish airline, with some hours layover in Turkey, when she said yes i booked it, Turkish airline straightaway, LOS to LGW with a 1-hour layover in Istanbul, the total cost was about £1600 for three seats. I sent the ticket codes to her to print out.

On the departure date, she was driven to the airport by her Sister. It was difficult checking all those luggage in but they got it done, I advised that she should allow the luggage handlers to wrap all the luggage with cellophane for a token, this ensures the security of the luggage and the safety of the contents but she rushed through checking in and totally forgot about the wrapping of the luggage. Anyways by 2000hr, they lifted off. I slept for a few hours, I woke up at about 0430hr to check through the flat again to make sure everything is top-notch.
They had a 1-hour layover in Istanbul and by 0930hr they touched down in Gatwick’s south terminal. I have been at the terminal since 0700hr. She sent a message when the plane landed, i knew they have to go through the immigration protocol and all but when they have not come out by 1100hr I became worried, i started calling her but she was not picking her calls, i must have called a hundred times within that time frame. I became worried, angry, and hungry. They finally came out at about 1130hr. After all the greetings, hugs, and kisses, She told me the airline lost one of her bags, so she lodged complaints with the baggage department and then airport police, they gave many forms for her to fill, which were filled and submitted and given complaint acknowledgment copies. In my mind was thinking, I advised you to allow the handlers to wrap the luggage, I was less concerned about the missing bag honestly until when they were settled and comfortable that she told me the load belongs to our aunt in Tottenham, how are we going to explain it that out of about 7 bags, it is the one that does not belong to us that got lost. I took control of the luggage cart and wheeled towards the car park at the south terminal. I hailed Uber online but the Asian driver was not audible enough on phone nor was he able to locate me despite the correct description, he later canceled on me, I was livid with anger. I had to call Blue Arrow in Gatwick, this driver locate me without any issue. We loaded the luggage and in 20 minutes we touched down in my flats in Redhill, he charged £18.
I brought the luggage to the flats by myself. They were so tired after the long hours flight, They just showered, ate a little and all went to sleep in the afternoon. While they were sleeping, calls were coming in from everywhere from family members that knew about their trip. I was answering all calls while trying to arrange the luggage.
Later on in the evening, I introduced them to the house, the gadgets, safety devices, and all, the children sat to watch cartoons while I sat with my wife to discuss and reminisce. The evening rolled into the night and the next morning the children were surprised that there was no power outage.
The next day was Sunday so we geared up and got a taxi to Holmesthorpe Avenue, RCCG Kings tower Assembly. I used to be a popular and regular face in the church until i realized bank shift pays double on Sundays. The church was so happy to see my family and they got taken in immediately. My church members are actually an amazing set of people.

Like how much can you get this scaling machine ?

Cyberknight:

Buy a scale, one of the digital ones which you attach to your luggage and use to lift the bag/box/piece of luggage so it can read the weight. They are generally accurate - Game in Lekki Mall sells a very good one. Allow for a kilo or so to cover any variables in weighing equipment (e.g. if I have a 23kg allowance, I get my bag to weigh in at 22kg max), and try to make sure that each piece of luggage comes under your allowed limit because the airlines are strict about charging for excess baggage these days, they need money.

Secondly, I too am a frequent traveller and have luckily never been extorted or been compelled to "drop", but it can happen to anyone. I used to willingly "drop" 200 at Customs in the bad old days before they brought in the scanner machine and used to search your luggage by hand, when carrying the food our Nigerians crave in London or simply because I disliked people disarranging my carefully stuffed luggage (I used to prefer carrying just one piece of luggage, a big strapped canvas rucksack which I stuff tightly with my clothes, yet another smaller backpack, laptop, etc., and unpacking and repacking that thing on the Customs table na work).

Remember that the agencies at the airport have statutory powers, e.g. Customs is empowered to search your luggage, so is NDLEA and Immigration with those not-so-undercover pseudo-security service guys they have there to check your passport and ask routine questions such as why you're travelling, etc., and in a corrupt country like Nigeria these powers are open to abuse. If they want to extort or delay you or make your life difficult they will. The truth is they generally don't, but they can. Customs might decide to do a body search, Immigration might decide your visa/passport/passport stamp(s) appears fake. Only big men have full rights in Nigeria.

Educate us more.. How I weigh my luggages at home ?, second which one is cabin and check in ?
You can budget zero. I am a frequent traveller and I have never bribed an airport official in my life. If you’re a first time traveller, just be informed about all the airport procedures and keep a straight face, so you won’t be looking and behaving like a JJC when you get to the airport. Also follow all the rules. Weigh your luggage before leaving your house and also know the things allowed in your luggage (both cabin and check-in).

This way, you can stand your ground and refuse to let anyone fleece you. Trust me, they will try, but they will leave you alone if you refuse to give them anything... as long as you actually haven’t broken any rule. If you don’t do anything that would require “abeg”, you can pass through the airport without paying a dime.
For me, I will advise you to go for the one that has sent u CoS already. Remember CoS expires after 3 months. The second, u can't ascertain when dy will give u CoS, dey fit tell u story dat touch. No try amm move out with the first job.

Remember, u can't have two CoS from different employer at d same time. B4 d second job will give u CoS, the first employer will need to withdraw/cancel their live CoS.

Cumbria is in north of England. North of England is cheap base on cost of living. If u move into UK and leta u do not like the area u can relocate. Get another job after a year or two.

Concerning ur hubby, ur hubby can get a job in any county that he likes. He can work full time. He might decide to be visiting u every weekend.

The choice is yours...

But go with the one u have deir CoS already.

Hi everyone, I have been following this thread silently for about a year, I must say you are doing a great job here as I have learnt so much from so many people.

I got two band 5 job offers, one in August, COS released and it's for a job in Carlisle, North Cumbria (England). The other offer is in Bedford, just got the offer yesterday and the package is similar.

I have a family of 4 and very soon after myresumption there, hubby (a chattered accountant here in Naija) will also come over to search for job.

Now the question is; which will you go for if you were in my shoes and what are your reason. Kindly help me with adequate information that will help me make an informed choice.

Thank you.

During my Visa application I tick that am single bcuz not yet married. What I want to ask is that, when she start processing her own Visa application to join me. ***Will I still need to pay Immigration Healthcare Subcharge fee (IHS) for her ?*** because this new health and care visa state that health worker and their dependants will not be paying IHS fee anymore.

From next month IHS fee will increase..

Your spouse technically is under as a dependent visa which cover spouse and children

Still on the same matter. Is there anything like UK dependant Visa. I thought is spouse Visa.

mimilyrics:
Then the spouse can apply for a dependant visa but will also need to include legal proof of the marriage as well as evidence of a genuine and subsisting relationship i.e. Pictures, communication evidence etc.
