DomPerignon: A Thai ship has also been hit.
II thought they said Iran can not enforce a blockade?
Whose going to stop them?
The US Navy has been moved 1,000km away from the straits.
US and Israel are yet to have air dominance and Iran has started mining the straits as well as positioning anti ship ballistic missiles and drones along the straits.
If the Houthis could maintain a blockade over the Suez and chase a whole US Aircraft carrier fleet from the Red Sea is it Iran that was supplying the Houthis missiles and drones that can not ensure a blockade over their sovereign waters? Iran has a lot of underground missiles they stored. Without foot soldiers on ground, they won't give up. However, it means more casualties both sides |

Family › Re: The Life Cycle Of A Poor Child In Nigeria by occfx: 2:18pm On Mar 08 |
maasoap: Everyone born into poor family should just make breaking out of poverty their priority: Work hard, smart and intelligently. Don't marry early. Don't have too many kids. Delay building your own house. Delay buying that personal car if there's alternative. Channel your savings into having second or even third source of income. Let your money makes more money for you. Have three years target, five years goal, ten years achievement and measure the outcomes against your set goals. It may take time, you will eventually break out of poverty cycle. Stay away from gambling, excessive alcohol and womanising. A lot of sacrifices just to take another idiott out of poverty only for him to waste it and put the next generation into poverty again Working hard is good but you need guidance... A lot of people who meet you poor don't want you to come out of poverty. Don't marry early... Is risky, you may end up marrying the worst of women when you finally make it. Too many kids are expensive in Nigeria but you can have many children and still succeed. Delaying buying assets is expensive, car, personal house, are assets depending on the need. Every other thing you wrote is gbam. |
Family › Re: The Life Cycle Of A Poor Child In Nigeria by occfx: 2:11pm On Mar 08 |
YoobaNesan: You're born by poor parents amidst myriad of you to come take them out of poverty they couldn't do themselves. Not that there's a layout plan for you to achieve that, your birth is just a gamble that perhaps you may be the destiny child they've been waiting for as they rely on one of their old sayings - three generations don't dwell in poverty.
Society never lambast them for giving birth to the number they can't afford to feed but back it up for them with another useless sayings - we don't can't the number of someone's children.
If you're the first child, your living is eke out as you're constantly remembered your younger ones are there. You can't go out with your colleagues to play as you like, denied a lot of childhood activities as you become your younger one's protector and mini-parents.
They sing it to your ears that for every good thing they're doing for you now, you'll replicate same to your younger ones. A lot of pressure is put on you to quickly grow-up and succeed as an adult to come take over their responsibilities as parents.
And if you're the last child, you're brought up with the hope that you'll soon be enjoying one's your elder one's finishes school and secure a good job as most of family expenses had been exhausted on them and parents can't provide as before. All promises became futile as elder one's are still battling with their life struggles and now your struggle begins.
You grew up with a lot of abuses and molestations from neighbors and acquaintances as they vividly know there's no one to come to your aid.
You struggle your way out of life chaos and hustle then when you manage to maintain a bit of stability, you're faced with another predicament.
By this time, parents are now old and weak, no retirement/investment plan to fall back on but you.
Most times this comes with old age related illness, you spend, spend and spend the little you have even with some borrowing on them till you silently wishes they just die to get relieved from this.
All uncles, elders and sisters that made fake promises are nowhere to be found as everyone carries their crosses.
You rinse and repeat and the cycle of poverty continues... In the zoo, without one big thief, una no go come out of poverty. |

NaijaHelper1: It's beyond embarrassing. And very unfortunate. The thing is people feel that mediocrity and corruption affects the simple masses on the streets, but the thing is that mediocrity seeps into everything we do. As it is, Nigeria has no defense systems and nothing to show for it's oil wealth. If you trace the reasons why, mediocrity and corruption is at the foundation of that. We have nothing. We are just sitting ducks for when the west realises they have the power to wipe us all out and take what they need. I tell you, they never reason that matter. Anyday famine or natural catastrophe happens and the zoo becomes the heaven, they will just wipe everybody and occupy it |
