The Russian Foreign Ministry has confirmed that Russian ambassador to Turkey, Andrey Gennadyevich Karlov, has been shot dead while speaking at an art exhibition in the Turkish capital.
Foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova made the announcement in a live televised statement, Sky News reports.
She said: “Today in Ankara, as a result of an attack, the ambassador of the Russian Federation to Turkey, Andrey Gennadyevich Karlov, received a wound from which he died.
“
“We regard this as a terrorist act. The murderers will be punished.”

The 62-year-old ambassador had been attending an art exhibition at the Contemporary Arts Centre in the Cankaya area of Ankara, along with other dignitaries and media.
The gunman was Mevlut Mert Altintas, a 22-year-old who had been working for the riot police squad in Ankara for the past two-and-a-half years.
He was off-duty when it was understood he entered the building using his police ID and opened fire on the ambassador as he made a speech.
A video showed him shouting, “Don’t forget Aleppo, don’t forget Syria! So long as our brothers are not in safety, you will not taste safety either. Only my dead body will leave here.
“
“Whoever is involved in this cruelty, one by one, you will pay for it.”

The gunman also shot three other people, although none were seriously injured, according to Turkey’s interior ministry.
Turkish media said he then climbed to the second floor of the building before a 15-minute shootout with police, during which he was killed.
A photographer from Associated Press who had been at the exhibition said the gunman had been wearing a suit and tie and had shouted “Allahu Akbar” before firing at least eight shots.
He had also spoken in Russian and smashed several of the photos in the exhibition.

The Senate on Tuesday began moves to remove the age bracket specification for recruitment and employment of job seekers in the country, in a motion sponsored by Senator Matthew Urhogide.
Uroghide while speaking noted that it was not the fault of job applicants that they were not employed earlier and should not suffer for it, adding that age and cognate requirements have lots of negative effects on eligible job applicants.
Also, Senator Stella Oduah who supported the motion stressed that the experience barriers should also be scrapped.
Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu stated that there is the need for transparency and fairness to fill the few employment opportunities available.
The Senate mandated MDAs to de-emphasize age bracket requirements for recruitment of first-time applicants while urging MDAs to adhere strictly to the Federal Character Principle as it relates to recruitment exercises.

Borno - At least 21 Chibok girls that were abducted by the dreaded Boko Haram terrorist group have reportedly been released.
According to Sahara Reporters, the girls were released in the early hours of Thursday, October 13.
More than 200 girls were abducted from their schools in Borno state in 2014 by the terrorists and while some of them had reportedly died, the rest remained held by the terror group.
Sources disclosed that the girls were picked up by military helicopter from Banki area of Borno state where Boko Haram militants dropped them off earlier on Thursday.
The release of the 21 girls came as President Buhari began a three-day trip to Germany to discuss assistance for the rebuilding of the northeastern part of Nigeria which has for years been ravaged by Boko Haram.
The names of the girls released were however not disclosed

I accptd bt later hangout with him same day bcs i was bored nd couldnt wait to see his face again. I realised he ws a traveller based in brazil as he told me evrything abt him with pictures in his phone...he evn told me abt his white gf whom he did contract marriage with nd all that. To cut the long story short, we started kissing at d bar, frm there to his hotel room. I began this job this Monday, I'm teaching PHYSICS and MATHS for senior secondary, and COMPUTER for Junior secondary. I take at least six periods per day, and the pay is 20K.
