Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra state restated that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi cannot win in the 2023 presidential election. Soludo stated this in an article titled, ‘History Beckons and I Will Not Be Silent (Part 1)’ released on Monday. He stated, “Let’s be clear: Peter Obi knows that he can’t and won’t win. He knows the game he is playing, and we know too; and he knows that we know,” the article reads in part. “The game he is playing is the main reason he didn’t return to APGA. The brutal truth (and some will say, God forbid) is that there are two persons/parties seriously contesting for president: the rest is exciting drama! CAN PETER OBI WIN THE 2023 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION? BET NOW on www.naijabet.com “That many Americans may not like the fact that Joe Biden (79 years) and Donald Trump (76 years) are two frontrunners for president in their parties does not remove the fact that if both of them emerge as candidates, definitely one of them will be president in 2024. “As my brother, I wish him well and even pray for him. I told him during his courtesy call that my prayer is that himself or Prof Umeadi of APGA would win, why not? “That is from my heart, but I also told him that my head and facts on the ground led me to know that it’s probability is next to zero (what I cannot say before you, I won’t say behind you). “So I already told him my opinion. Indeed, there is no credible pathway for him near the first two positions, and if care is not taken, he won’t even near the third position.” CAN PETER OBI WIN THE 2023 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION? Former President Goodluck Jonathan, has debunked a purported media report that the aggrieved Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors were loyal to him. Mr Ikechukwu Eze, the Media Adviser to Jonathan, in a statement on Friday in Abuja, said the office’s attention had been drawn to media reports linking his name to the current troubles in the PDP. Eze said that Jonathan would have ignored the strange tale, since it was obviously baseless. “However, we are offering this clarification because we have been reached by many Nigerians who are concerned that such fabrication, with a vague and suspicious attribution, could be given undeserved prominence on the front page of some national dailies. CAN RABIU KWANKWASO WIN THE 2023 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION? BET NOW on www.naijabet.com “We are also not unmindful of the fact that, this being an electioneering season, bizarre tales are often contrived, propagated and weaponised to either smear others, or deliver cheap political advantage to the purveyors. “First, we would like to make the point that it is not out of place if there was crisis in a political party like the PDP, and a former president who served under the party’s platform, is called upon to intervene. “That being the case, we initially did not see anything wrong with the headlines in some papers indicating that the former President was being persuaded to help resolve the issues in the party. “However, we are dismayed that the seemingly purpose-minded headlines were only cast to mask the mischief of the sponsors of the story and hoodwink the unsuspecting populace.” CAN RABIU KWANKWASO WIN THE 2023 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION? BET NOW on www.naijabet.com Eze said the former president’s office’s attention was called to the provocative and insulting statements in separate, but similar versions of the story in different news media. He said the report, either claiming that “the whole thing we are seeing in the PDP … is orchestrated for President Jonathan,” or that “he (Jonathan) is encouraging governors Wike, Makinde, Ikpeazu, Ugwuanyi and Ortom, to behave the way they are doing, knowing that these five governors are fighting his cause”. “We believe that such duplicitous statements could not have emanated from the camps of those who truly wish the party well. “It simply shows that the so called ‘sources’ of the story are not disposed to the peace and unity they pretend to be seeking in the PDP. “How could anybody turn around in 2022 to accuse Jonathan of bearing a grudge against the PDP when the former president had campaigned vigorously for the party and its presidential candidate during the 2019 elections?” CAN RABIU KWANKWASO WIN THE 2023 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION? BET NOW on www.naijabet.com Eze said those who insinuated that Jonathan was not happy with the PDP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, because of whatever roles he played ahead of the 2015 elections, had forgotten that the former president actively campaigned for him in 2019. “The fact that Dr. Jonathan stood out as an exemplary politician who, throughout his political career, abhorred treachery and mean-mindedness, and played politics without bitterness, needs no gainsay. “Unlike many of his detractors, the former President has, out of office, progressed to a higher level of statesmanship, faithfully applying himself to causes that promote peace, love, unity and progress, across the entire west African sub-region. “It is Dr Jonathan’s wish that the PDP is able to resolve its internal crisis, unite all members and have a good showing in the forthcoming 2023 elections. “We wish to however point out that it will be difficult to achieve this aspiration if some forces in the party continue to engage in mudslinging, disinformation and manifest tendencies that negate the values that are dear to loyal party members,” Eze said. The Transition Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State’s comparison of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola to former United States of America President, Donald Trump, on Sunday, led to exchange of words between it and the All Progressives Congress. A statement by the spokesperson for Ademola Adeleke, the state’s governor-elect, Olawale Rasheed, admitted that the chairman of the PDP Transition Committee, Muyiwa Oladimeji, labelled Oyetola as another Trump at a function and justified the PDP stalwart’s position. The party accused Oyetola of working to frustrate-disruption of the handover of power on November 27, saying the incumbent governor, like ex-US president, denied ever losing election, alleging that Osun governor also orchestrated a fake election result tabulation to purportedly claim victory. It further read, “We first want to take liberty to list five reasons why the outgoing Governor is every inch a Trumpist and even likely worse as noted by Dr Muyiwa Oladimeji, an accomplished professional and Chairman of Ademola Adeleke Transition Committee. “We must point out further that when the July 16th results were out in public, attested and authenticated as valid, the Governor was still claiming a win. At a time his party members were already accepting electoral loss as traceable to several factors, the Governor was holding fast to his ‘anigbele’ agenda exactly like Trump who is still delusional and think he was rigged out. Any leader who electorally failed by all standards, whose loss was acknowledged by his leaders but who remains adamant and intransigent, is beyond a Trump. As he opposes democracy, his garb may become that of Italian Benito Mussolini. WHO WILL WIN THE 2023 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION? BET NOW on www.naijabet.com “Pressing the matter further, Trump, in pursuance of his ‘election denial’, launched out to manufacture fake votes and alibi to remain in power. In Osun, Governor Oyetola and his propagandists orchestrated a fake election result tabulation to purportedly claim victory. In fact, the search for votes was desperately pursued but for the democratic alertness of the mandate holder, Senator Ademola Adeleke. “We must elaborate further by calling attention to attempted mutilation of American governance structures when Trump discovered his political end had come. The many appointments and approvals centering even on national security that he gave few days to quitting office bear the hallmark of every steps, actions and deeds of Governor Oyetola. The Governor looks every inch a good students of Mr Trump. If that behaviour is not Trumpist, is it that of Brazilian Jair Bolsonaro?” However, Special Adviser to Osun State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Kola Olabisi, reacting to Oladimeji’s comparing Oyetola to Trump in another statement, advised the PDP TC chairman to update self about international politics and stop drawing mischievous comparison. Olabisi reminded Oladimeji that there was no basis for comparing Oyetola with Trump as the former is an ardent believer in the rules of law, being the reason why he approached tribunal, challenging the victory of Adeleke with indisputable facts and figure. He explained further that in a saner society, the governor deserved to be honoured for his dexterity and doggedness for improving the content of the nation’s legal knowledge with reference to the conduct of credible elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission in future. WHO WILL WIN THE 2023 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION? BET NOW on www.naijabet.com The statement read, “We won’t join the fray in insulting Dr Oladimeji just the way he had done to Governor Oyetola but we shall not fail to point to the PDP chieftain and Defender-in-Chief of a controversial governor-elect that it would be more dignifying for him to make his point(s) without necessarily describing a sitting governor as being ‘intransigent’. “Was Dr Oladimeji not worried that by the time he was vilifying Governor Oyetola on Thursday, another sitting Oyo State PDP Governor Seyi Makinde was busy praise-singing Oyetola at the joint flag-off ceremony of the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the 91-kilometre Osogbo-Iwo-Ibadan road with fanfare in Osogbo? “It wasn’t for fun that Governor Makinde did not bother to look at the venue of the PDP’s presentation of the one-legged transition committee report which is not better than a worthless piece of paper as the contents were predicated on conjectures and unofficial information illegally sourced from some disgruntled civil servants. “The PDP handlers and their governor-elect should desist from fouling the media space by strangely making indecorous and inapposite noise by shouting and roaring over the legal activities of Governor Oyetola in order to create a false impression against the people’s governor.” WHO WILL WIN THE 2023 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION? Prosecutors in Spain on Friday dropped corruption and fraud charges against football star Neymar and others accused in a trial over the Brazilian’s 2013 move from Santos to Barcelona. In a dramatic move, the prosecutor announced the “withdrawal of the charges against all the accused and for all the allegations” they had faced. Neymar, 30, had said he did not remember if he took part in the negotiations which led to an agreement sealed in 2011 with Barcelona over his transfer two years later to the Spanish side from Brazilian club Santos. Spanish prosecutors had sought a two-year prison term for Neymar, a key member of the Brazil team that will be heading to the World Cup in Qatar next month, and the payment of a 10-million-euro ($9.7-million) fine. The dropping of the charges is the culmination of a years-long legal saga over Neymar’s high-profile transfer to Europe. He then joined Qatar-owned Paris Saint-Germain in a world record 222-million-euro transfer in 2017. NAIJABET VIRTUAL ARE AVAILABLE 24/7, WIN UP TO 200K EVERY 3 MINS! PLAY NOW on www.naijabet.com Neymar had been one of nine defendants on trial on corruption-related charges, among them his parents and their N&N company, which manages his affairs. Even if he had been convicted, prison terms of two years or less are never enforced in Spain for a first-time offender. Investigators began probing the transfer to Barcelona after a 2015 complaint filed by DIS, a Brazilian company that owned 40 per cent of the player’s sporting rights when he was at Santos, the club where he rose to global prominence. The firm claims that Neymar, Barcelona and the Brazilian club colluded to mask the true cost of his transfer thereby defrauding it of its legitimate financial interests. NAIJABET VIRTUAL ARE AVAILABLE 24/7, WIN UP TO 200K EVERY 3 MINS! PLAY NOW on www.naijabet.com Barca said the transfer was valued at 57.1 million euros, with 40 million euros paid to N&N and 17.1 million to Santos, of which 6.8 million was given to DIS. Spanish prosecutors believe the actual value was at least 83 million euros. – ‘I sign what I’m told to’ – Neymar gave evidence earlier this month, telling the court he had done nothing illegal and that he only signed documents his father gave him. “My father has always been in charge” of contract negotiations, he said. “I sign what he tells me to.” DIS also claims financial harm from the 2011 pre-contract agreement with Barca, claiming it had impeded other clubs from making offers and affected the value of the transfer fee. NAIJABET VIRTUAL ARE AVAILABLE 24/7, WIN UP TO 200K EVERY 3 MINS! PLAY NOW on www.naijabet.com But the player’s father, Neymar Sr, told the court the talks had been authorised by the Brazilian club at the time and that “it was Santos’ responsibility” to inform DIS, and not his. Apart from Neymar, his father and his mother Nadine Goncalves, two former Barca presidents, Sandro Rosell and Josep Maria Bartomeu, and ex-Santos boss Odilio Rodrigues Filho are among the defendants. Neymar’s lawyers insist their client is innocent, saying the 40-million-euro payment from Barca was a “legal signing bonus which is normal in the football transfer market”. Neymar is having one of his best seasons since he joined PSG and is expected to play a key role for Brazil at the World Cup in Qatar. He has scored nine league goals in 11 matches and made seven assists. He is expected to lead the Selecao into their World Cup Group G opener against Serbia on November 24 as the South American giants begin their quest to win the trophy for the first time since 2002, and the sixth in total.

The Leader, Yoruba Nation Self-Determination Struggle, Prof Banji Akintoye, on Thursday, claimed that the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu’s ambition was for “personal interest”. He said with his “emilokan” which meant “I am the next person” statement, it was obvious Tinubu’s mission to become Nigeria’s president was personal and not for the welfare of the Yoruba people. Akintoye, who is a Professor of History, disassociated himself from an interview he granted two years ago where he had endorsed Tinubu for president, saying the former Lagos State governor was contesting at the wrong time. In a statement on Thursday, Akintoye clarified that he is not endorsing Tinubu and would not vote for the former governor during next year’s election. The self-determination group leader also chided other Yoruba politicians seeking elective offices, saying they were doing so at the expense of Yoruba people seeking emancipation to achieve the Yoruba Nation. Can Bola Tinubu win the 2023 Presidential Election? BET NOW on www.naijabet.com According to him, I have no personal animosity towards any Yoruba person seeking election. But I am sorry for you. You are creating a legacy that your children’s children will be ashamed to know about very soon in the future of the world. The statement read, “Our brother, Tinubu, you are fighting for yourself alone when your whole family is perishing. There is fire on our roof as a nation. It is unbelievable that any Yoruba man would do to his people what you are doing to our people now. You have been carrying around a video of an interview that I granted Alaroye in the campus of Obafemi Awolowo over two years ago. They asked me that if there was no struggle for self-determination and you want to recommend a Yoruba person for President of Nigeria, who would I recommend? And I said yes! If that is so, I would recommend Tinubu, without any hesitation. But that is if the times are right, the times are not right, you know, I do not endorse any Yoruba man, Tinubu or any other for any elected position, any position at all in Nigeria at this time. I stand fully and without looking back, with the Yoruba struggle for self-determination for our own country, for Yoruba nation now! “That’s the truth of the matter. Dear Tinubu, please don’t deceive yourself. You cannot deceive our people. You think you can carry that kind of video around and deceive our people, our people are smarter than that. The world is watching you. Our history will judge that at a time when our nation needs to stand up and defend itself, you started to bring up an agenda. A personal agenda of your own before them. You are asking us to vote for you. We will not vote for you. Whether it is for the Presidency or the Senate or House of Rep or whatever, we will not vote for you. We would have taken our country out of Nigeria by then. So, we advise you now to return to your people. I am advising you now, return to your people and wash your soul clean. You are doing a thing that is unpardonable. “Tinubu, you are destroying the Yoruba future. You are creating a legacy for yourself that your children’s children will be ashamed to know in the future. We ask you to return. You can still save yourself now and your future. We are determined to take our country. And I’m standing solidly with the young people who are running around trying to take their country. Oh! you might say they are fighting themselves, that’s what young people do everywhere. That does not mean that they don’t want their country, they want their country. And the Lord God, the creator of All Nations, has given them that country, and very soon, the Lord will deliver their country into their hands. Then it will be their duty to settle down and begin to do for their people the kind of government that Yoruba people have been giving to their people from the beginning of time, a government whose objective is the improvement of the life of the people of our nation.”
