Geopolitical zones is Alex Ekwueme idea during Abacha conference that later adopted by Obasanjo but never included officially in the constitution.

Obi does not even have a political party at the moment. One party state is bad for democracy and good governance but it has nothing to do with popularity of opposition candidate. If Obi is so popular people will be decamping to join him not run away from him and his party.
