Why are you pained, some of you don’t know that Geopolitical zones are not recognised by Nigeria constitution and may never be recognised because the North always oppose it because they want 1 northern Nigeria. Geopolitical zones is Alex Ekwueme idea during Abacha conference that later adopted by Obasanjo but never included officially in the constitution.

PoliticsTinubu Encouraging All Governors To Decamp To APC Is A Sign Of Failure by Odingo1(op): 11:40am On May 23, 2025

PoliticsRe: I’m Expecting More Defections To APC – Tinubu by Odingo1: 11:34am On May 23, 2025
If the election is free and fair an independent candidate can win an election without belonging to any party. All the Politicians decamping have one vote and people will decide who to vote for. In Nigeria Governors rig elections and that is why their decamping is a big deal otherwise they all have one vote

Which Peter Obi? grin grin grin

Obi does not even have a political party at the moment. One party state is bad for democracy and good governance but it has nothing to do with popularity of opposition candidate. If Obi is so popular people will be decamping to join him not run away from him and his party. Politicians are scientists when it comes to elections...they flow with the popular wave...where they can win.

casualobserver:
the rejected secession clause, they staged the 1st coup, they promulgated unification decree 34 which abolished regional govt in all but name and referendum they shout about today!

"In 1966, the "unification decree," Decree No. 34, effectively abolished the federal system of government in Nigeria and established a unitary system, which removed the need for referendums, according to the Council on Foreign Relations. This decree was promulgated by General Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi, Nigeria's first military head of state. The decree aimed to discourage "tribal loyalties and activities".

The people that abolished regionalism are the ones shouting regionalism, the people that aborted parliarmentary system are the ones shouting presidential system is too expensive or it doesnt work.

what all of you are fighting for now is what Awo fought for but you opposed

On October 1, 1975, there was a ray of hope on the issue when General Ramat Murtala Muhammed (1938-1976) announced in a broadcast that he would hand over power in 1979. And true to his words he set up a 50-man constitution drafting committee under the leadership of Chief Rotimi Frederick Alade Williams.

A member of the committee, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, GCFR opted not to serve in the committee insisting that having written and participated in the making of past Nigerian constitutions, there was no more to add.
in other words there was nothing wrong with the parliarmentary system.
Clap for yourself, every problem in Nigeria is cause them, you people from the west and north are saints, you guys should continue with your lies.

PoliticsRe: The Truth About Nigeria’s Presidential Rotations by Odingo1: 7:31pm On May 01, 2025
TonyeBarcanista:
This argument of Switzerland doesn't apply to Nigeria.

In Switzerland the Federal Assembly elect a seven man Federal Council for a four year term. Each member presides over the country on turn by turn basis each year. It's more of a collegiate presidency.
We are talking about how to bring peace to Nigeria and prevent future crises that may breakup Nigeria. You know in Nigeria that there is Fulani forces that Control Nigeria to ensure or to dictate a particular trend. That is why herdsmen move freely all over Nigeria and take peoples life without any arrest, highest they settle Yorubas with presidency to keep on trend. The Igbos is fed up, The North Central is following up. To solve the problem is to adopt a model like Switzerland that have different ethnicities otherwise we keep on pursuing shadows in Nigeria and pretending that everything is Ok with current arrangement.
Nigeria should be regionalised with central rotational presidency among the geopolitical zones with 5 year single term or face possible breakup in no distant time.
PoliticsRe: The Truth About Nigeria’s Presidential Rotations by Odingo1: 7:09pm On May 01, 2025
TonyeBarcanista:
This your position is "faulty" not based on fact.

Irrespective of any zoning consideration, politicians advance their interests and they lobby behind the scenes for their interests. Buhari was Tinubu personal interests within APC in 2015, he lobbied for him to get the ticket. Atiku, Kwankwaso and Okorocha weren't. Though it was not zoned, every Chieftain advanced their political interests. In 2022 when it was zoned, everyone still advanced their interests within the sphere of the zoning arrangements.
For equity and peace to reign in Nigeria, presidency should rotate among the six geo-political zones in Nigeria not Yoruba-Fulani people thing. Switzerland is doing between the French, German and English territories for peace in their country not two tribes take all in Nigeria and concentrate all development in Nigeria in the South West and North West only.
PoliticsRe: The Truth About Nigeria’s Presidential Rotations by Odingo1: 7:04pm On May 01, 2025
TonyeBarcanista:
Your talk is pedestrian.

Why didn't 'Southerners' lose in 2011 when PDP suspended their rotational agreement to accommodate Jonathan on the basis on one term? Why did it happen in 2015 when Jonathan flouted the agreement which led to mass exodus from the party and sabotage? Every party is bound by their own internal arrangement.

APC never zoned to North in 2015, it was left open. APC only zoned to South In 2022 after they adopted North-South arrangement. Every party is responsible for marketing their choices.

PS: As at today, no political party has what it takes to unseat Tinubu in 2027 irrespective of who they field. I don't know of tomorrow but TODAY!
There is nothing like North-Southern arrangement, just say they adopted Yoruba- Fulani rotation between South and North because someone from North central cannot be given opportunity.
PoliticsRe: The Truth About Nigeria’s Presidential Rotations by Odingo1: 6:55pm On May 01, 2025
TonyeBarcanista:
APC never zoned her ticket in 2015. It was thrown open, hence, you had a Southerner (Okorocha) as part of the aspirants. Nigeria didn't zone yhe presidency in 2015 to the North, APC defeated PDP... PDP members worked against the party because it failed to honor its own rotational arrangement. If GEJ had won the story would have been different!

Let me ask, did you vote APC in 2015?
Why are you pretending as if don’t know how things work in Nigeria, this is the problem of Nigerians, they never say the truth but carry religion for head. APC and PDP before each primaries have already zone the presidency at background of who the delegates will vote for to emerge others are just ceremonial participants. If not tell one of these primaries that have produce a contested primary we’re the winner will have like 200 vote and runners up 195 to show that primary was not rigged or predetermined before the day of conducting the primaries. Let us be telling ourselves the truth, the presidency in Nigeria is a Rotation between Yorubas and Hausa-Fulanis and that is why Yorubas never supported Jonathan presidency and later gang up and boot him out.

Can someone from North Central win primaries in Northern Rotation or Yorubas support another southern candidate in the turn of Southern Rotation huh huh shocked shocked huh huh
PoliticsRe: The Truth About Nigeria’s Presidential Rotations by Odingo1: 6:39pm On May 01, 2025
TheChameleon:
Ekwueme Alex contested and woefully lost.

Same way with Ogbonnaya Onu who casted the 1 vote he got in APC primaries.

You try your might by contesting.

Buhari described them as dot in circle / 5 percenters. Tinubu said they will eat soaked bread in tea

Both guys are winners so maybe they described them perfectly cheesy
Keep on lying to yourself as if you don’t know that the primary was ceremonial to fulfill Inec requirement in 1999. Before the primary all the PDP delegates working committee agreed for Obasanjo. Ekwueme as the founder of PDP was giving BOT chairman, his participation is ceremonial.

You Yorubas and Fulanis should keep on rotating the presidency among yourselves and gaslighting others, nothing last forever, where there is no equity it will destroy that country.

because Nigeria killed Abiola who won the fairest elecrion in the history of Nigerian.
Yoruba were handed presidency on a plater of Gold, let Nigeria replicate that in the six geo-political zones in Nigeria to ensure equity, there is nothing like southern president but Yoruba president.
PoliticsRe: The Truth About Nigeria’s Presidential Rotations by Odingo1: 6:09pm On May 01, 2025
In 1999 Yorubas were handed presidency on a plater of gold to placate their crying about June 12 but after that they started telling everyone is that they work for it and earn it. Only two Yorubas contested in 1999 to ensure that a Yoruba man emerges as president.
PoliticsRe: The Truth About Nigeria’s Presidential Rotations by Odingo1: 6:00pm On May 01, 2025
You guys like lying to yourselves, the Rotation is between two tribes in Nigeria, Hausa-Fulani and Yorubas, the rest na sitdown dey look. Nothing like South and North thing. Proper thing to do in Nigeria is rotational Presidency between the six geo-political zones in Nigeria for equity. Nigeria presidency is not for only Yorubas and Hausa-Fulani people.
