They know what they do/did. As for me, I am not not afraid because I don't/didn't steal. What about you? Jonathan is best ignored because he is bound to become a non entity after may 29th How much could he and Mama peace have stolen. $10 billion? It is the corrupt goons around him that Buhari is going to have to shake down for the location $500 billion earnings. Half a trillion us dollars vaporised just like that. |
Obasanjo should stop giving excuses. The Corruption of Northern leaders and lack of leadership is responsible. The northern conservative elites are the most heartless set of people in Nigeria. Their poverty is the heartless version of the poverty you find all over Nigeria. The states are responsible for primary and secondary education. The bulk of the SW spending goes towards education and health spending and remains the only place where you find such with many regions piggybacking on the SW social services It is therefore laughable when some people are celebrating the fact that salaries have been fully paid. It simply tells me that they do not responsibilities in terms of education and health. |
Much ado about Nothing. 8 billion Naira for a ceremony! the money is enough to build a mini gas fired power plant to power all the street lights in a small city. All that money for 2 hours of nonsense. Why not just handover in aso rock with something small without all the razzmattaz( inauguration ceremony, inauguration ball, inauguration thanksgiving, inauguration jumat etc |
Money for shepke. |
before writing, the least you can do is to consider the historical perspective of the the subject matter. We did not have Subsidy fraud under Obasanjo even though he tried to remove it under pressure from Iweala masters( imf and world). The idea was to increase the amount of money for developmental purposes. However, we all know that the problem has never been money or lack. It is the morbidly corrupt nd incompetent leaders and politicians who steal everything in sight. There was no Subsidy on kerosene or diesel yet they created one. Waiver which Obasanjo introduced to allow for the importation of telecommunications equipments to hasten the development of GSM was turned into a bazaar for the importation of pots, pans, candles, cutlass. |
This man is the worst ever. They do not even bother to hide the corruption. It is "in your face" corruption. |
I am not deluding myself at all. It is not pessimistic to say that Jonathan has taken Nigeria beyond the precipice. It will take a miracle. Everyone is after easy money. Very few are creative |
buhari should simply look at all the ghost companies created after and take back the cheese from the rodents |
Send this rubbish to the scrap heap |
Through our arrogance, loudness and stupiidy( leadership and Followership), we have developed a stupid reputation. Even with stupid people, the leadership are mostly to blame. Else, our stupidity would have been restricted to Nigeria without needing to export it around the world ( because Nigeria would have been a livable place) Food for thought : the Sikhs have earned themselves a reputation of being peaceful even though they carry knives as part of their religious rites. Talk of packaging. |

We see hospital in akwa ibom We see eko atlantic in lagos We see kwankoso underpass We see ogun emergence as a manufacturing hub But Jonathan is sharing stoves after sinking good projects like Olokola LNG brass LNG These two projects could easily have created local hubs for domestic gas production and bottling. So instead of free useless stoves, people would have been rushing to buy gas cookers. You cannot buy what you do not have. VISION AND COMMON SENSE. |
Nice. First project in a long time to really make sense. Necessities first. |
lastpage:Read my stuff properly and digest it. Lagos does not have unlimited resources. In fact, lagos is one of the poorest states per capita. Now I will give a little lecture here. Lagos is constrained by funds. Fashola has thousands of thing he would like to do. If I am a member of a murder board to select projects from a portfolio, I will murder that fourth mainland bridge and drop it to the bottom of the pile. The money would be better spent on rail link and instituting a congestion charge ( like the city of London) between the island and the mainland. The objective being reducing the number of private vehicles and thus, the need for a new bridge every 30 years. Back to the point. I said that the business case is not ripe because the components are not there yet bearing in mind that there are more important things to do with money today. It does not mean it is not feasible but the benefit to cost ratio is low today. |
Make u tell your shoes to begin trek back. |
mrmetoo1:Nigerians love instant gratification. Most pay no taxes but want free stuffs. They tell you we have free oil. As if the oil is free. As if it does not cost the oil producing areas( not states) in terms of pollution, rampant insecurity and health damage. You say the government should do stuffs. I agree but someone has to pay it. Most of you spend N200,000 getting the latest iphone, spend N100,000 for private schools, N5 million naira on weddings but pay not one penny in taxes. Can you imagine what would have happened to schools, road, bridges, playground if all taxable adults only pay just 10% of their undeclared taxable income. In other countries , people pay Capital gains Income tax Sales tax / VAT Stamp duty Inheritance tax Dividends Tax on Taxes on Interest, rents etc MOT, congestion tax, road tax etc. Corporation tax That is why they have all those stuffs. If you have no skin the game, expect nothing. This will not make any sense to most but those who live overseas understand what I am talking about. The average Nigerian in Europe or America only starts earning money for himself in April. The equivalent of January to March incomes are taxes In other words, you are the government's biiitchhh for the first 3 months of the year. The fact is that many do not know their responsibilities as citizen and the leadership most often than not are chosen from this group. Fashola and tinubu are simply anomalies. It is like lightening striking the same place twice. |
ddami:I do not know what amosun is still waiting for. The Abeokuta central business district is very important to transition ogun from a manufacturing hub into a place with white collar jobs |
Ezenwammadu:That did not seem to have stopped him from manufacturing kerosene Subsidy. 7 billion dollars stolen. Sorry your Jonathan is exactly the problem. People will always take advantage whenever you find incompetence |
aresa:Dumbotron A vice is chosen to complement the principal and to polish off his rough edges. |
luvinhubby:Nothing opulent about it. Lagos is simply playing to her strengths. Lagos has little land for agriculture and few natural resources. This is where we go back to the saying. Lagos has the largest population in the country but still out performs them all. For instance, lagos government has more tractors available for farmers than most states. Benue state, kogi, Niger, taraba, cross river, and Ondo are some of the states that can easily outperform lagos.but most of them are beggar states today. the NW which is chronically dependent can turn the desert into a sea of green houses if they have a visionary leader and reduce that emphasis on that Arabic thing. If that is not enough to shame them all.... |

Ilu Eeko. Simply pump in electricity and see the SW rise up. In order to criticise this project, I had to enter the mind of tinubu and Fashola. At the end of the day, I had to give up on the criticism once I discovered it. Unlike many here, i asked the question, why is the money not being spent in ikorodu or other rundown neighbourhoods? Then you realise that in order to fund those neighbourhood regeneration, the money has to come from somewhere. The state is already maxing out on its capacity to generate revenue The vision is beyond the comprehension of most people. This is a direct play for leadership on both the West African sub regional level but also on the continent against south Africa. This is a play to make lagos the commercial, financial, manufacturing, shipping and air traffic hub of Africa. If you doubt, look at the project for which funding is being sourced or are already complete 1) lekki airport ( funding being sourced and private sector being discouraged by the attempt by some unscrupulous people to wrestle MMA2 from a private investor) air traffic 2 lekki sea port ( started). shipping 3 lekki free trade zone( completed, tenant already in and vacancies still available ) trade and manufacturing 4 lekki oil and gas free trade zone ( ladol and dangote refinery already there, expect to see more players) . oil and gas, ship building, services etc 5 eko Atlantic banking, retail, insurance, hospitality & tourism, law 6 fourth mainland bridge ( to enhance transportation between the mainland and the islands. I believe that the business case for it is not ripe yet.) All these projects are inter-linked by a common strategy. To make lagos a world city. Being done in a different way but this is exactly how many countries develop. Be it dubai or Singapore. By doing interlinked projects. One project in a portfolio leading to the necessity(business case) for another project. Not the rubbish other governors and presidents do. Just build rubbish all over the place without any vision The 100,000 tree seedlings being bred to line the streets, avenues and boulevards. Credit : eko atlantic

Lagos incurs debt to build stuffs in much the same way Nigerian abroad incur debt to buy their houses or furniture. In fact, many use chase credit card to make purchases once in a while even when they have the money just to improve their credit rating. Unless you want to wait until you have enough money to do so when inflation would have made it more expensive. For instance, the money which Peter obi claimed to have saved in anambra state in spite infrastructural challenges, is smaller today than it was last year when he was boasting. That is based on the devaluation of the naira alone. That is before we start talking about the increase in inflation and cost of labour. So whenever any clown talks about lagos debts, I laugh because the lagos state debt management is as good as anywhere on the planet. |
Labour leaders? When our so called profs are incapable of making an argument. There was never a Subsidy. The government should simply cut off all the middle men |
ken4jj:That exactly is the problem with Nigeria. Most simply travel to developed countries for the easy life. Nigeria has the worst of almost everything |
Jonathan's Nigeria that is where a first lady commands the police and the military like house boy and house girl. |
Like someone said, Nigeria has run out of money. |
I do not know why people are bothered with yale. Like I said before anyone can give any title as long as she is kept as far away as possible from where she can cause damage. As much as soludo erred in fraternising with the banks and not regulating them properly, no one has ever disputed the fact that he can do better and do a job. But Iweala is your typical world bank /IMF agent sent down to do an heist job in her own homeland. Nothing upstairs apart from the packaging and the list of damaging economic theories given to her by her imperial paymasters. People like her typically see their countrymen as less than human. |
Mogidi:You can pose that question to the north and south-east. The SW earns her keep and can adjust quickly in case of a break up Learn about the sources of foreign exchange. Not only oil brings in forex The so called dead cocoa brings in $ 2 billion dollars annually. Money which can be used to buy products. SW Reparation will covers forex. Dmoestic manufacturing will cover imports. VAT and corporate taxes would easily change cover the cost. That is before we talk oil. Let the break happen you would know who owns what continental shelf and thus territorial waters. What many of These guys do not know is that the many of the oil blocks being operated falls within odua states territorial waters. |
