aguiyi: You are the fool here coz you're the one that foolishly said we are "benefitting" more from SS/SE to the extent that we need you. I then had educate you that if we are benefiting from anyone it is the likes of Shell and Chevron whom the bulk of Yorubas in the industry work for. These are international corporations that have footprints across the world. If our people don't work in their stations in the Niger Delta, they can be easily sent to work for the companies' other interests in the middle east . You be proper mumu. 1 Like |

aguiyi: You be proper ignoramus. No be those Oil companies Yorubas work in dey extract the Oil on the scale that generates the country's revenues? How many of those companies are owned or headed by an igboman? How much of all the infrastructure in the upstream sector of the Oil industry is operated by indigenous companies, besides Oil blocks? Na your papa own Shell and Chevron? You people make too much noise abeg. First succeed in kicking out those Oil companies then we can begin to talk. Obviously your kinsmen would rather stick to trading than obtain the qualifications that would enable them land a lucrative job in an Oil company like the Yorubas are doing, perhaps that's your real problem in life. Well, in that case, bad belle is allowed. 1 Like |

Nigeria needs to urgently move away from its over-dependence on Oil revenues and diversify. We have more than enough natural resources that if mined and developed/processes/exported can solve this problem ones and for all. Thankfully the incoming administration has indicated that it will tackle this problem head-on. |

But obviously Akpabio's projects aren't that many nor impressive coz you all are having to open one thread per project and still only a handful of projects have been completed and commissioned so far by Akpabio. patmaine: LOL. If that's you strategy it is already DOA (Dead on Arrival) coz mass-trading in a 2x2 in no way underscores economic dominance. The dominant Yorubas of Lagos need not compete with you all in your trading 'areas of strength' as we've chosen to devote ourselves to more worthwhile socio-economically relevant and professional areas of expertise, e.g. We would rather be Accountants, Lawyers, Doctors, Engineers, Professors, and focus on Manufacturing, Civil service, Service Industry, etc. As a matter of fact, the combined economic value of those traders in 2x2 that litter Lagos is a drop in the Ocean compared to the value of Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) that Lagos keeps attracting daily, so please don't flatter yourself. 1 Like |

sebali: Lol. What most people don't realize is that expansive Space/Land is more important to the Igbos than SS oyel . Not only is the SE landlocked, they are also running short of space -- the population pressure is majorly responsible for their penchant for spreading out beyond their borders -- that's why they clash with others over land. The SE simply wasn't blessed with good land. SS on the other hand has more than enough Land mass to accommodate the expansionist/hegemonic ambitions of the igbos. Their proposed Biafra must of necessity be run under a Dictatorship style of governance, to forestall further balkanization/breakup (which is bound to happen considering the multi-ethnic nature of the state). Politics / Re: Civil War Aftermaths: Ndigbo Urge Buhari To Rebuild Igboland by OduaVanguard: 3:28pm On May 21, 2015 |
size40: They were faking Jonathan of course. During the the first 3 years of his tenure the FG was persecuting and arresting MASSOB and other separatist groups, the igbos turned a blind eye to this coz it was their turn to "chop" at the Federal level. While GEJ's admin lasted, they didn't agitate for their "abandoned properties" that the ijaws and ikwerres confiscated in PH, Rivers. But right after GEJ'S loss to Buhari, they have started agitating again, screaming marginalization one the one hand, and Biafra on the other hand. Some of their leaders have gone as far as asking Buhari to intervene on their behalf in recovering their confiscated properties. And now they want Buhari to develop the SE? ? Here I was thinking the place is already over-developed sef going by the deafening noises we here from our NL resident Biafrans. Smh. 4 Likes |

Politics / Re: Why Ndigbo Should Support Senate Presidency By Dr Frank Ojiako by OduaVanguard: 1:19pm On May 21, 2015 |
Those in charge of our stomach infrastructure conjured some indefinable recipe. Dr. Goodluck Jonathan was fostered on us as our brethren. He became Ebele (instead of Ebelemi, I hear). He became an imitation Azikiwe. For the five good years the man sat as president, not one tangible project could be pointed to in Igboland that he initiated and completed. The concoction was served steaming hot and we fell to. Today, the concocted broth has gone sour just a few weeks after the elections. Shops and business premises owned by Ndigbo in Yenegoa, Bayelsa State, Dr. Azikiwe Ebele Jonathan’s home State, are being looted, burnt down just because of a commemorative rally for Isaac Adaka Boro. Very soon their houses will become abandoned properties. Did the above quoted incident really happen to Igbos in Bayelsa? Yorubas have never meted out such treatment to the Igbo trader in Lagos, yet his hatred for us is as high as Kilimanjaro. Whatever happened to the Lower Niger solidarity? Make Una do quick go Biafra abeg. Confused bunch. 1 Like |
