I have a list of words spoken by the richest man in the world before the pandemic and after. And here are my thoughts. Pls oo 1. Before 2015 public speech by the man him self Bill gates, he was asked what was his greatest fear. Out of all things to be scared of from nuclear war, business crashing, competition happening to micro soft, he choosed a global pandemic happening. 2. In 2015, he made mention on Ted talk tv, that the great risk of man kind is "a global catastrophe that looks like this......", ON THE SUPER BIG SCREEN WAS A VIRUS THAT LOOKS EXERTLY LIKE THE CORONA VIRUS. (How on earth did he get the image right out of billions of virus shapes) 3. He pridicted on the show that10million people can be killed by the virus. ( the same number he stated in 2012, 10million) 4. He continued by saying failure to prepare could allow the next epidemic to be drmatically more devastating than ebola. (In the first place how did he know that another more advance than ebola is coming and that with our ever advancing society, we wont be able to keepup. 5. He said the shocking one. He said, Ebola was controlled because it is NOTICEABLE on humans, also it DOES NOT spread through the air and lastly it DIDNT get to URBAN areas. (But what happened next? Lesson where learnt and the direct opposite of the weakness/ failure of ebola began happening in this other virus). 6. He continued by saying, Next time you might not be so lucky, you may have a virus, you fill well enough , while you are infectious. Of which infectious people can get on the plane or a market. (How on earth did he know all these?) 7. He then stated that the source of the virus can be natural phenomenum like ebola.....OR IT CAN BE BIO-TERRORISM (Ok why would he want to worry himself about the source. Also he said the first was natural but the second can be bio-terrorism.....corona?) 8. He finally gave out some solutions. He said , we have to be prepared using technology and science. Geting information acriss people to educate them. Using satellite maps to see where people are and their movement. In poor countries they should build a strong health system. Also he said we should look for a pathogen to create drugs and vaccine. (I want to believe that what is going on now) 9. He also said if we have a full epidemic , global wealth will be down by 3trillion dollars and along with millions of deaths. (Hmmmm....) Bill gates on CNN 27th march, 2020. Bill gates was interviewed for the second time on cnn and these are his words. In late april the number of infection/death will increase. It will take another month (may) to get the number down. (Did i just hear the month of May?) Also he talked about testing....He said, we are not testing the right way.... He said he fear the worst in africa, especially developing, populated countries like Nigeria. Where millions of casuality can happen and developed countries may not come for help, its going to be much tougher (I wonder why he was smiling saying all these?) He concluded that we have 6 to 10 weeks of isolatio. before result starts coming.. And that his own lab is creating a vaccine that will be administered to EVERYONE. ( Why do i have that feeling that this is the world's businss. #thinkingoutloud Na observations ooo . I beg ooo |
Jokerman:Touch......there means killing. But then why should an "anointed " man put his sheeps in danger of a contagious virus by calling a gathering that can wipe out a nation? That is potential man slaughter and that man should be arrested(arresting his keeping someone indoors for a particular amount of time till the person realise him or herself and think deeply about all they have done. |

If they had done their jobs well, people will not be ignorant. As at yesterday so many citizens of this great country , were still asking about the curfew and what need to be done. I expected all media should repeated in a language , REPEATED, announce current event as it takes place. As at yesterday i expected the guidlines ..highlighted on our screens on the curfew should be constantly on display. Our local news need very good I.T tech guys to work hand in hand. Using maybe powerpoint or something. No creativity. Forcing us to watch cnn and bbc. If that be even if you miss the news an hour ago, you can still come back and view it at any giving time. But all i see on our local stations are just talk, talk and talk and interviews from someone that sounds as if he crammed his speech. The media guys a trying but not good enough in fighting for recognition of their profession(budgeting), on creativity in broadcast(to draw the attention of people) and they should all be united. One person harrassed, everyone feel harrassed and march together. |

Angelfrost:But there can be another dele giwa, ken saro wiwa, and gani fawenhimi. If its all about the money then they should go into money fetching business or jobs. All am saying is journalism in nigeria is part of the factors destroying this great country big time becos of greed, $elfishness, and laziness. |
einsteine:So because of hunger you short change fact. Infact you kill fact for food. If finance is journalists problem to go all the way to seek the truth even if its to be on the hots spot. Then there are other ways , businesses , methods they can adobt to make money. This is important so noone can hold there tongue from the truth and the truth will set the nation free. Good always follow good. Or as they say hard work pays at the end. Nd if you are not ready for the task you are not fit to be a journalist cause its a job of passion for truth. And not survival. |
ivolt:Every profession has his own role, risk and consequences. I carru out mine with all my heart and am proud of that even facing big time risk, not to mention i voice out my opinion when it seems fit. I expect you guys....journalists to do the same give us your all and and lets see result. |

Can I touch and hold my newborn baby if I have COVID-19? Yes. Close contact and early, exclusive breastfeeding helps a baby to thrive. You should be supported to Breastfeed safely, with good respiratory hygiene; Hold your newborn skin-to-skin, and Share a room with your baby You should wash your hands before and after touching your baby, and keep all surfaces clean. Are smokers and tobacco users at higher risk of COVID-19 infection? Smokers are likely to be more vulnerable to COVID-19 as the act of smoking means that fingers (and possibly contaminated cigarettes) are in contact with lips which increases the possibility of transmission of virus from hand to mouth. Smokers may also already have lung disease or reduced lung capacity which would greatly increase risk of serious illness. Smoking products such as water pipes often involve the sharing of mouth pieces and hoses, which could facilitate the transmission of COVID-19 in communal and social settings. Conditions that increase oxygen needs or reduce the ability of the body to use it properly will put patients at higher risk of serious lung conditions such as pneumonia. |

Are there any risks from interacting with animals or consuming animal products? There is no evidence of any animal including pets playing a role in the spread of the virus. As a general practice when caring for any kind of animals, always wash your hands before and after interacting with them. Meat from healthy animals that is cooked thoroughly remains safe to eat. People should not handle, slaughter, dress, sell, prepare or consume meat that originates from wild animals or livestock that are sick or that have died from unknown causes. Raw wild meat or uncooked dishes based on the blood of wild animals should not be consumed. These practices place people at high risk of contracting any number of infections. Any unusual morbidity or mortality of animals should be reported to the animal health authorities. FAO urges animal owners to treat their animals humanely. Misleading information exists on the possible risks posed by animals in the virus’s spread. |
How do I stay active in and around the home? Try and reduce long periods of time spent sitting, whether for work, studying, watching TV, reading, or using social media or playing games using screens. Reduce sitting for long periods by taking short 3-5 minute breaks every 20-30 minutes. Simply stand up and stretch or even better, take a walk around the house, up and down the stairs, or into the garden. By just moving around and stretching you can improve your health and wellbeing. For more ideas and illustrations of healthy stretches see (EURO weblink[1]) Set up a regular routine to be active every day, by planning a physical activity or exercise break either by yourself, by joining an online class, or by setting up a time to be active online with your friends or colleagues. Making a specific time to be active helps ensure you get your daily physical activity. Put the time in your diary, and it will help remind you. Stick with it, as this will help you build a regular routine, and help you adjust to new ways of working, study and family life under COVID-19 restrictions Be active with your family and friends, connecting with others can help you and your family in the home and elsewhere spend time together and be active. Planning time to be active with your children with active games at home, walks in the parks, or cycling can be a way the whole family can relax, be together and be active and healthy whilst at home. Set yourself and your family Be Active goals, by choosing a specific type of activity, time of day and/or number of minutes you will do every day. Get each family member to choose their own goal which sets a bit of a challenge but is realistic with help from family or friends and motivation. Record your progress on a weekly activity chart and, if you think it would help, reward yourself with something you value. For Children under 5 years of age Active play in and around the home – invent games which involve being active and can develop skills in throwing, catching, kicking, as well as developing posture and balance. Active play and games where children get out of breath, such as running around, skipping and jumping. For Children and adolescents aged 5-17 years Active games and active play with family. Join in online active games or activity classes, also look for online physical education classes as well as exercise routines suitable for adolescents. Set up playground games indoors such as Jump rope and hop-scotch – make up new games and challenges that involve being active. Learn a new skill – for example try an learn to juggle. Encourage doing some muscle strength training activities such as lifting weights or use improvised weight such as bottles full of water or sand. For Adults Climb up the stairs as much as you can, think of it as an opportunity to be active. Use household chores as a way to be more physical activity. Join in an online exercise class or make up your own routine to music you enjoy that uses the major muscle groups and raises you heart rate. Do some muscle strengthening activities such as lifting weights or improvise using full bottles of water or simply use your own body weight and do sets of press ups, sit ups and squats. Make time for fun, such as dancing to music. |
How large does a meeting or event need to be in order to be a “mass gathering”? High profile international sporting events such as the Olympics or World Cups as well as international religious events such as the Hajj count as mass gatherings. However, lower profile conferences and events can also meet WHO’s definition of a mass gathering. An event counts as a “mass gatherings” if the number of people it brings together is so large that it has the potential to strain the planning and response resources of the health system in the community where it takes place. You need to consider the location and duration of the event as well as the number of participants. For example, if the event takes place over several days in a small island state where the capacity of the health system is quite limited then even an event with just a few thousand participants could place a big strain on the health system and then be considered a “mass gathering” event. Conversely, if the event is held in a big city in a country with a large, well-resourced health system and lasts just a few hours, the event may not constitute a “mass gathering” event. How much physical activity is recommended? WHO has detailed recommendations on the amount of physical activity people of all ages should do to benefit their health and wellbeing (weblink)[1]. Here are the minimum levels we recommend: Infants under the age of 1 year need to be physically active several times a day. Children under 5 years of age should spend at least 180 minutes a day in physical activities, with 3-4 year-olds being moderately or vigorously active for an hour a day. Children and adolescents aged 5-17years all children and adolescents should do at least 60 minutes a day of moderate to vigorous-intensity physical activity, including activities that strengthen muscle and bone, at least 3 days per week. Adults aged over 18 years should do a total of at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity throughout the week, or at least 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity physical activity throughout the week, including muscle-strengthening activities 2 or more days per week. older adults with poor mobility should do physical activity to enhance balance and prevent falls on 3 or more days per week. But any physical activity is better than none. Start with small amounts and gradually increase duration, frequency and intensity over time. Being active during the COVID-19 pandemic is challenging for us all. Because the opportunities to be physically active seem to be more restricted, it is even more important to plan in every day the ways to be active and to reduce the time spent sitting for long periods. Put simply, it is a critical time to ensure we all move more and sit less. |
How do we ensure human rights and reduce stigma and discrimination? As the world scales up public health responses to the COVID19 pandemic, countries are being urged to take decisive action to control the epidemic. WHO has urged all countries to ensure an appropriate balance between protecting health, preventing economic and social disruption, and respecting human rights. WHO is working with partners including the UNAIDS Joint Programme and the Global Network of People Living with HIV to ensure that human rights are not eroded in the response to COVID-19 and to ensure that people living with or affected by HIV are offered the same access to services as others and to ensure HIV-related services continue without disruption. To mitigate potential prison outbreaks of COVID19 and reduce morbidity and mortality among people in prisons and other closed settings, it is crucial that prisons and immigration detention centres are embedded within the broader public health response. This requires close collaboration between health and justice ministries and includes protocols for entry screening, personal protection measures, physical distancing, environmental cleaning and disinfection, and restriction of movement, including limitation of transfers and access for non-essential staff and visitors. In the current context it is of critical importance that countries work toward developing non-custodial strategies to prevent overcrowding in closed settings[10]. Governance of prison health by a ministry of health, rather than a ministry of justice or similar, is likely to facilitate this[11]. 10] Effectiveness of interventions to address HIV in prisons. Are people living with HIV at increased risk of being infected with the virus that causes COVID-19? People living with HIV with advanced disease, those with low CD4 and high viral load and those who are not taking antiretroviral treatment have an increased risk of infections and related complications in general. It is unknown if the immunosuppression of HIV will put a person at greater risk for COVID-19, thus, until more is known, additional precautions for all people with advanced HIV or poorly controlled HIV, should be employed[1],[2]. At present there is no evidence that the risk of infection or complications of COVID-19 is different among people living with HIV who are clinically and immunologically stable on antiretroviral treatment when compared with the general population. Some people living with HIV may have known risk factors for COVID-19 complications, such as diabetes, hypertension and other noncommunicable diseases and as such may have increased risk of COVID-19 unrelated to HIV. We know that during the SARS and MERS outbreaks there were only a few case reports of mild disease among people living with HIV. To date, there is a case report of a person living with HIV who had COVID-19 and recovered[3] and a small study on risk factors and antiretrovirals used among people living with HIV with COVID-19 from China. This study reported similar rates of COVID-19 disease as compared to the entire population and increased risk with older age, but not with low CD4, high viral load level or antiretroviral regimen[4]. Current clinical data suggest the main mortality risk factors are linked to older age and other comorbidities including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and hypertension. Some very healthy people have also developed severe disease from the coronavirus infection[5]. PLHIV are advised to take the same precautions as the general population[6],[7]: wash hands often cough etiquette physical distancing seek medical care if symptomatic self-isolation if in contact with someone with COVID-19 and other actions per the government response People living with HIV who are taking antiretroviral drugs should ensure that they have at least 30 days and up to 6-month supply of medicines and ensure that their vaccinations are up to date (influenza and pneumococcal vaccines). Adequate supplies of medicines to treat co-infections and comorbidities and addiction should also be ensured. |
