kmst1:Is portugal also the best team in europe bro?? Juve used to own serie A but not anymore bro, remove all of cr7's serie a goals last season, juve would have finished in mid table |
tesppidd:No need stressing myself to read the rubbish you just posted.. All I know is that messi never delivers when he plays for Argentina.. simple Have a nice day |
tesppidd:Cr7 did not complete that euro 18 final match due to injury, so I dont know whether you were expecting him to score from the stands Cr7 flopped badly during that NL final match against france, I doubt if you even watched the match cuz he actually played well, just that he didn't score.. afterall you once said, a player can play a world class match without scoring, or does that theory not apply to cr7? Argentina needed Messi against Germany in 2014 when they went behind, but he went into airplane as usual.. Even during that copa 2016 match, they needed him to score his spotkick just to make them believe they can win, but instead he sent the ball to the stands.. imagine if you were an Argentina player that day, how would you feel seeing your talisman, captain and one of the best ever missing a spot kick? Would you feel confident while taking yours or will your morale drop a bit?? And please stop comparing messi and cr7 in the international scene.. the fact that cr7 has a trophy with Portugal is itself a miracle This is actually the first time that cr7 is having a large amount of world class players to play with in portugal.. besides portugal before cr7 were crap, they had no trophies and evem had difficulties qualifying for competition.. now compare that to argentina before messi, two world cup trophies and a number of copa america titles.. that history coupled with the amount of world class players messi has played with means he should have at least won a trophy.. In america, argentina are usually the second favorites to win the copa america title after brazil, but in europe, you would pick ten favourites to win the euros and I doubt portugal would be among.. but of course, I am sure you already know all these Yes, team work not individual brilliance wins your trophies, but for that to happen, you need leaders on the pitch and in the dressing room.. another area where cr7 dwarfs Messi.. infact Messi's leadership skills is closer to zero than to ten.. Its funny how you keep on criticizing higuian for that WC final miss.. while failing to mention how he carried his team into the semi final after his match winning strike against Belgium.. Bottom line is Messi's team mates support him just the same way cr7's support him.. |
tesppidd:Oga, whenever he's needed the most, he never delivers.. period |
tesppidd:Portugal needed cr7 the most during those finals?? Please was there ever a time when they went behind and needed someone to bail them out during those times?? You don't need people when things are going well in life( e.g in football, when your team is winning or the score is tied) rather you need them when things are going bad(e.g when you're losing)... |
tesppidd:Even if Messi likes let him score 1 million goals and give 1 millions assist.. without winning a trophy, his legacy can never be complete.. simple I don't know why this is very hard for you to accept Higuain goals-to-game ratio for Argentina is almost similar to Messi.. that would have also been the case for aguero if not because most of his appearances were substitute appearances due to the presence of higuain back then.. Tevez and di maria have never really been the best in terms of goals for their clubs, so I really don't know how you would expect them to post outrageous figures on the international scene.. Besides Messi has played roughly 2X the numbers of games that all these players have played, so its natural for him to have all these records.. Records without trophies mean nothing.. the likes of ali daeli comes to mind, like I said earlier rooney's england legacy can never be appreciated the same way Charlton's would simply because although the former made various records, the latter won a trophy.. Messi, di maria, huguain, etc were fantastic players for their clubs but without a trophy for Argentina, their legacy on the international scene can never be considered a success |
tesppidd:Di maria, tevez, higuain shines in europe but deceives for Argentina... But somehow Messi always gives 10/10 for his country.. wow Messi is a fantastic player, no doubt.. but till he wins a trophy with Argentina.. he will never be considered as a great player in international football.. simple as abc |
tesppidd:Messi scored a lot of goals during that 2016 copa america tournament, but when his team needed him the most to set an example for his team mates to follow, he sent his penalty kick to mars |
tesppidd:Yes Maradona was average during those other world cups, but he only needed to win one in order to cement his legacy, which he did.. tell Messi to win a trophy with Argentina first, then we will start taking him seriously, even if its copa america trophy, I don't care, let him just have one Yes bucharragia scored the world cup winning goal, but it would interest you to know that maradona gave the assist.. lets not forget that Argentina scored two goals during the quarter final and another two during the semi final that year.. and all four goals were scored by maradona.. meaning he was a major part of the reason why they even got to the finals that year.. just take a look at the match against England, the odds were against Argentina and they needed something special to win, which maradona provided... Messi plays well for Argentina, no doubt.. but far too often, when his team needs him the most, he usually goes missing.. I was patiently waiting for you to bring cr7 into the conversation, because the obsession you Messi fanboys have with him is something I can never truly understand.. I choose not to comment on this though because I really dont have the strength to be comparing Messi's and cr7's influence on their respective national teams |
tesppidd:That goal was a match winning goal, therefore making it a crucial goal just like the valdona, burruchaga were also scoring crucial goals according to you |
tesppidd:Its no big deal if a player does not score a goal during a game.. but the way you are saying maradona had the likes of valdano scoring crucial goals, I just wanted to remind you that Messi too had the likes of di maria also scoring goals during crucial moments too.. During the k/o stages of that 2014 wc, by his standards, Messi was crap.. he was not scoring goals nor giving assists, nor creating a lot of chances either.. and of course we all know that superstars like Messi don't press when they are out of possession.. so if as an attacker you are not doing any of these things, I wonder how you can claim to have a good game... Infact if not because he's Messi, he might have been relegated to the bench with kun aguero taking his place.. why do you think the decison to award messi the golden ball in that tournament was widely criticized(even by maradona himself) ? In your previous post, you said Argentina's midfield and defence have always been bad.. now you're saying it was only the 2014 midfield that was good, which one am I gonna believe now? In club football, de lima was a great footballer..but in ucl history, not so much.. In international football, till Messi wins a trophy with Argentina, his legacy is near to non-existent.. Ali daeli holds the record for the most goals scored in international football, and if not because of cr7 threatening to break his record, am sure 90% of soccer fans wouldn't have heard of him because despite that record, his legacy in international football is not so great due to his failure to win a trophy.. Messi has had like nine different opportunities to win a trophy with Argentina, how many more should they give him to change the narrative... Or should they now move the copa america to every year so that messi can wim? After all, copa america was played in both 2015 and 16, and messi still did not win |
tesppidd:You are very funny.. The way you said Maradona had the likes of Valdano scoring goals, it sounded as if Messi was the only one scoring all the goals for Argentina and he had no support from his team mates.. but now that I have reminded you about how messi did not score a goal during the 2014 k/o stages.. you are here saying another thing.. Argentina has always had a mediocre midfield and defence.. wow So the likes of di maria, mascherano, banega, biglia, gago, pastore, roman riquelme, veron, paredes and cambiasso were/are mediocre midfielders.. wow The likes of zabaleta, zanetti, rojo, dimechelis, burdisso, heinze, militto, garay, tagliafico are bang average right? wow.. Please the Argentina team that won the world cup, how many world class midfielders and defenders did it contain abeg? De lima's legacy in the champions league is near to non-existent, but he won other club trophies.. World cup aside, which trophy has messi won with Argentina? |
tesppidd:Oga, nobody is arguing with you here, but rather I was simply trying to correct you when it sounded like you were implying that messi was more loved in Argentina than Maradona.. Yes, Maradona had the likes of Valdano, same way Messi had the likes of di maria, and if not because of these guys scoring the goals during the k/o stages, Messi would not have gone to the 2014 ucl final.. And yes, Messi never turns up 'when needed' .. I dare you to prove me wrong.. and for those records you mentioned, Rooney has all sort of records for england, but you can't compare his legacy to someone like Charlton.. infact our very own jay jay okocha is one of the best players to step out of africa, but can we really say he has excelled while playing for Nigeria.. If Messi can play and win things for barca, then why can't he do the same for Argentina despite having almost the same caliber of players.. He's hardly unlucky with barca, but when he's needed the most in Argentina, suddenly bad luck suddenly creeps in |
tesppidd:No need for harsh worlds bro.. 'Apart from Maradona, Messi is more loved than any other footballer in Argentina'.. I think this would have better than 'Messi is more love than every other footballer in Argentina'.. And bros, you don't have to be the best in the world to be the most loved in your country.. Even if Messi likes, let him break all sort of records with Argentina, till he wins something with Argentina, there's no way the Argentines would ever value him above any member of that world cup winning team.. to them Messi plays well for barca and never turns up when he puts on the Argentina colours |
anonymous1759:Maradona's team mates supported him and Messi's didn't? what kind of biased statement is this? Are you now trying to say that Messi's team mate did not want to win the world cup or not? Higuian missed a chance, yes.. but is there any player who doesn't miss chances in world football? And during the 2014 world cup, Messi only played well during the group stages against average teams like iran, Nigeria.. when it got to the knock out stages, when the big boys came calling and his team needed him most, he disappeared, just like he did against liverpool, bayern, napoli, during the previous ucl.. Now compare that to Maradona who carried that Argentina team on his back like his life depended on it, just check out the game they played against England, then you will know what I am talking about.. The Argentina team Messi have played in contains some of best footballers in world football.. now compare that to Maradona's, most of the people he played with were average players.. The only reason why they played so well then was because of Maradona, he was their captain and talisman, and they believed with him, they could beat anyone, even when the player's morale were dropping, he was always there to cheer him, something you can never see from Messi.. Anytime Messi's team is losing or not playing well, just try and look at his body language, he gives up far too easily, and if you're a player in that team, when you see your best player giving up, you're tempted to do the same.. but with Maradona, it is never over until its over, and as a team mate when you see that kind of attitude from your captain, you follow him till the end This current Argentina team lacks leaders on the pitch, that is why they are struggling, Messi who is supposed to be their captain is not a leader.. same thing is happening with barca.. Messi might be one of the greatest ever, but he's gotta be one of the worst captains ever.. when you talk about captains you mention people like keane, viera, ramos, and even Ronaldo.. and till Messi starts showing some leadership skills, I am afraid he is not gonna win anything with his country.. Messi might be one of the best ever in world football, but he is not the best player in Argentina.. the likes of Maradona are way ahead of him there |
tesppidd:Messi is more loved than any footballer in Argentina?? is this a joke bro?? Those guys from Argentina view Maradona as a god, he made them famous in world football by 'almost single-handedly' winning them the world cup.. what has Messi done for Argentina?? Nothing.. to those Argentina folks, messi plays well for barca and never delivers for his country Ask 10 guys from Argentina who is the GOAT, nine would likely pick Maradona.. |
NoHopeForMe:If penalties were easy, messi would probably have won the 2013 copa america trophy with Argentina |
NoHopeForMe:Messi scored about 17 penalties in 2012,even cr7 is yet to match that figure |
NoHopeForMe:How many goals have messi scored from open play this season?? ![]() |
mdchikezie:Messi has scored 4goals this season (3 for club, 1 for country), all of these goals have come from penalties Cr7 needed just 3mins to score a goal from open play on his return, something Pessi has not done in about ten matches now, so next time bros, talk with sense cuz I hate rubbish...*walks out* |
remigiusizunna:drop ur contact |
Good morning good people of NL.. Please my sister's few months old phone was stolen at our house last night.. afterwards, we quickly went to the atm to withdraw all the money in her account, only to see that the thief had also withdrawn some amount of money.. Please I need advice on how to recover the phone.. any suggestions is highly welcome |
Faller:Jesus!! bros u wicked oo Hahahahahahahaha.... Savagery at its finest |
Slawormir:you go wail tire... whether na penaldo, divenaldo, goalnado. ... there can be only one GOAT.. I know you must be in severe pains right now after the goat produced another masterclass last night |
pquaver:Oga, I really don't get where you are coming from.. Messi IS still a good player while matuidi USED to be a good player, so what are you saying exactly?? Abi you dont understand the difference between is and was Abeg, I nor get power for this kind mumu arguement.. have a nice day Sir |
pquaver:My guy, you are very funny.. matuidi and khedira used to be very good players, no doubt, but their time done pass.. you cant compare present day matuidi and khedira to present day bruno fernandez na Okay bros, if I ask you to list the best midfielders on the planet right now, you will list khedira ahead of de bruyne abi |
pquaver:so just because they won the world cup means that they are world class players and are suddenly better than other midfielders abi? meaning by your way of reasoning, giroud is better than cr7 and messi na The khedira you even mentioned sef, how many games did he play for juve last season?? pls bros next time don't compare juve's midfield of last season to Portugal's current midfield(which is probably the best I have ever seen in their history), the likes of pjanic, matuidi, khedira USED to be great players but not anymore,, if they were still good, all of them would still be at juve right now, so comparing them to the likes of present day stars like bernando silva, bruno fernandes, ruben neves n danilo is somehow |
paulolee:khedira and matuidi world class midfielders?? are you joking bro... its like you stopped watching football in 2016 |
KidDarkness: |
paulolee:Were you in the room where perez and cr7 discussed about an increase in salary?? fact is cr7 never left madrid because of salary issues,, their(perez and cr7) interviews after the transfer proves this statement to be true.. As for Messi, if any club had offered barca a fee in the region of 100m, I'm sure barca would have agreed to sell, but rather Messi wanted to walk out of his contract and leave on a free transfer.. If the likes of messi, coutinho, vidal, rakitic, suarez, etc all left barca for peanuts, where do you expect them to raise funds to sign new players?? Besides madrid was relatively stable when cr7 left, unlike barca Another possible reason why Bartomeu was reluctant to sell was that he probably didn't wanna be remembered as the president who drove Messi out of barca |
gibzzhd:Must you bring cr7 into the conversation?? your obsession with this guy simply validates the fact that he is way better than Messi Back to your post Cr7 did not leave madrid because of salary issues.. infact, I will like to see a video of perez/cr7 saying the latter left because the former did not increase his salary Neither Barca nor la liga said Messi will not be allowed to leave, but rather they said Messi will only be allowed to leave if a club triggers his release clause.. if Messi has his way, he's going to leave for free, something that barca is trying to avoid |
TheStrongest:What's your point exactly?? Cr7 has over 260 assists and yet you Messi fanboys say he is stingy, what would happen then if he wasn't stingy... You came here spewing trash about how messi would provide a lot of assist for cr7, okay list players with more assists than cr7, instead of you to give me names, you're here saying rubbish I have met a lot of stupid Messi fanboys on this forum, but I swear none can match your level of stupidity |
