Catholic churches are well known for such efforts, even though it has been proven that the majority of the time it has been for dubious purposes.

Let him also know that every country in Europe and America, that pastor(s) have no business with church offertory or tittles... First thing first, none of the businesses you mentioned are small businesses so I don't understand why you think government should step in to fund any of the projects that they embark on in any one of their select communities particularly since their take home alone exceeds the amount spent in any of those cases. Second, the Deeper Life project was instead said to have been funded by members and not Deeper Life itself.
Third, for a community program, the particular church in a particular community spearheads a project to benefit the lay folk in that community that it then requests a grant from the government to help with. These cases you have here are of massive companies— many of them international corporations with millions of dollars in yearly revenue — doing what other corporations sometimes do and mostly for the benefit of the brand.

My church member who relocated to Calgary in Canada last month was shocked at the way their churches operate - a Catholic church, by the way. Surprisingly, they don't even collect offerings every Sunday.

Money comes in as freewill donations in huge sums and they only have offerings those Sundays they have special need for money; the reverend father would persuade and apologise to them because he's bugging them. Then, every Sunday, all sums received and spent are displayed on the projector for everyone to see. Everyone knows how much the church has in its accounts
