Richtaiwo: The thread below has now waddled its way to a fifth page. Out of all the comments, not a single one, yes, not even one, made a serious attempt at rebuttal, let alone with a shred of evidence.
Instead, almost all conveniently abandoned the topic and united around their favourite pastime, hurling insults at Reno Omokri. At least in my case, I offered a correction and the individual actually learned from it. Here, however, learning was clearly not on the agenda. The topic was deserted, reasoning was put on leave, and insults took centre stage, loud, passionate, and completely irrelevant.
Truly impressive consistency, when facts show up, the supporters vanish, when insults are needed, attendance is suddenly 100%. https://www.nairaland.com/8594586/reno-omokri-shows-evidence-misgovernance#138050831 When substance fails, deflection becomes strategy. First it was grammar policing, then character assassination, now a full pivot from Daniel Bwala to Reno Omokri. Classic, predictable and typical of Agbadorians Now, having failed to defend Bwala, you’ve jumped ship to Reno Omokri. We all know Reno Omokri’s playbook, loud rabble rousing, maximal outrage, now followed by quiet reward. This is the same Reno who publicly called Tinubu a known drug lord, dared him to court, and never retracted the claim. No lawsuit, no retraction instead, an ambassadorial appointment. Draw your own conclusions, Richtaiwo And as usual, Reno’s argument against Peter Obi is not policy, data, or outcomes, but cherry-picking optics. He parades a general hospital in Anambra to score cheap points, ignoring the fact that Obi’s investments in healthcare, both as governor and as a private citizen are well documented and verifiable. Anyone genuinely interested in truth can Google that. Meanwhile, under the current Tinubu administration, if healthcare has improved so dramatically, one would expect evidence, not foreign hospital visits. Leaders proud of their healthcare systems don’t routinely fly to France and UK for medical checkups.

Richtaiwo: “Worst” is a superlative, not a comparative, so it doesn’t take ‘than’. Perhaps you should take some time off your obsessive Pitobi fandom and redirect that energy toward improving your English.
After all, you already spent nearly five years trailing Nnamdi Kanu everywhere like a devoted apprentice, and now you’ve simply transferred the same enthusiasm to Pitobi, up and down, left and right.
Are you even aware that Nnamdi Kanu is a school dropout, while Pitobi is a third-class philosophy graduate? Quite amusingly, these two happen to be your role models. When you have no defense for the substance, you retreat to grammar policing and character assassination, classic deflection. Typical of Agbadorians Whether it’s worse than or worst, Daniel Bwala’s political acrobatics are on public record. This is the same man who swore that nothing would work under Tinubu even if he were given 30 years, yet today he’s on government payroll chanting 'on your mandate,' standing on a rotten, dilapidated, and decrepit mandate. Richtaiwo, If you want to debate, debate the facts. If all you have is grammar and name-calling, you’ve already conceded the argument.

Politics › You’re Not Our Member: APC Official Asks Wike To Stop Meddling In Party’s Affair by Ofunaofu(op): 12:33am On Jan 08 |
‘You’re not our member’: APC official asks Wike to stop meddling in party’s affairs
The APC chieftain's comments followed a recent warning by Mr Wike to the party's National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, to steer clear of Rivers State politics.
The National Director of Information for the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bala Ibrahim, has asked the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to stop meddling in the party’s affairs.
Mr Ibrahim, who spoke when he appeared as a guest on a Trust TV News programme on Wednesday, threatened that he would “cut off” Mr Wike’s “wings” if the FCT minister does not stop meddling into the APC affairs.
The APC chieftain claimed Mr Wike was “mixing right and wrong” and does not know what it means to be called a “busybody” in law.
“He’s a lawyer, and anybody who meddles in affairs that don’t belong to him is a busybody,” the APC chieftain argued.
‘He is not our member, he has no right’ Mr Ibrahim stressed that as far as membership of the party is concerned, Mr Wike is not a member of the APC and that the FCT minister has no right to interfere in the affairs of the party.
“And if you meddle in affairs that are not within the purview of your rights, you have to get your wings cut to size. And Wike has attempted to interfere in the affairs of the APC, and his wings will be cut unless he decides to do the right thing,” he said.
The APC chieftain said the right thing for the FCT minister to do is to resign from the membership of the PDP and join the APC.
“You cannot say you think he (Mr Wike) belongs to the APC. You can guess that he belongs to the PDP. It is for the PDP now to say whether he is a legitimate or rightful member of the party or not.
“As far as PDP is concerned, I don’t even know which one is the rightful or legitimate PDP,” he said.
“So, I don’t know which faction said he is not their member. But wherever it is, Wike does not belong to the APC where I belong. And if he interferes in the affairs of the APC, he is a busybody.”
Mr Wike was among the people expelled by a faction of the PDP over anti-party activities in November 2025.
‘His support for President Tinubu does not make him our member’ Mr Ibrahim said he appreciates Mr Wike’s support for President Bola Tinubu, but argued that that does not give the minister the power to interfere in the affairs of the APC.
“Since the president is a member of our party, by extension, our party is a beneficiary of Wike’s support for the president. But that does not give him the power to interfere with the affairs of the APC,” he said.
The APC chieftain argued that Mr Wike is only working for Mr Tinubu, not the APC.
He stressed that until the FCT minister declares support for the APC, he will not make inputs in the party’s affairs.
“He (Wike) is working for the success of the president. And there is a difference between the president, the presidency, and the party where the president belongs,“ Mr Ibrahim said.
The politician emphasised that Governor Sliminalayi Fubara is the APC leader in Rivers State.
Background Mr Ibrahim’s comments followed a recent warning by the FCT minister to the APC National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, to steer clear of Rivers State politics.
Mr Wike’s warning was in response to Mr Basiru’s criticism of Victor Giadom, the APC national vice chairperson (South-South), who described Governor Fubara as “so-called governor.”
In response, Mr Basiru called on Mr Wike to resign as the FCT minister.
Meanwhile, there has been political tension in Rivers State due to intense exchanges between Messrs Fubara and Wike in recent times.
The relationship between Messrs Fubara and Wike appears to have broken down after the FCT minister accused the governor of reneging on the terms of the peace deal brokered between them by President Bola Tinubu in June last year.
Previously, a political crisis in Rivers, triggered by the feud between Governor Fubara and Mr Wike, resulted in the declaration of emergency rule in the state by President Tinubu in March 2025.
Mr Fubara, who was suspended by Mr Tinubu for six months alongside all elected officials in the state, only returned to office in September of that year after the president declared an end to the emergency rule.
This was after President Tinubu brokered a second peace deal in June between Messrs Fubara and Wike alongside their supporters. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/regional/south-south-regional/848157-youre-not-our-member-apc-official-asks-wike-to-stop-meddling-in-partys-affairs.html8

Politics › Rivers: You Can’t Cry Foul Now — PDP Blasts APC Over Wike by Ofunaofu(op): 8:03pm On Jan 06 |
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) has no right to complain about the conduct of Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, insisting that the ruling party must manage the political consequences of its own actions in Rivers State.
The PDP said Wike is no longer a member of the party and accused the APC of knowingly engaging him for political advantage, only to raise objections now that the relationship has become problematic.
The party’s position was stated on Tuesday in Abuja by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, while reacting to a public exchange between Wike and the APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, over political developments in Rivers State.
The PDP spokesman said, “The National Secretary of the APC may genuinely not know who is or is not a member of the PDP, and may therefore be relying on outdated information suggesting that Wike was a PDP member. Wike was expelled from the PDP, along with his supporters, and that is why we sympathise with the problem the APC has brought upon itself by engaging Wike; someone they now lack the moral or legal standing to disown.
“The law does not allow you to benefit from a wrong you created, nor can you complain of a voluntary injury. You cannot complain about an act you willingly undertook. So they should manage the situation they have created. After all, what was once seen as an asset has now become a liability, and they must deal with it.”
He rejected attempts to draw the PDP into the controversy, noting that the conduct now being criticised was previously applauded when it appeared to serve the APC’s interests.
“As for his (Basiru’s) comments, he should not drag the PDP into this. It is the same conduct he is now complaining about. When he was engaging in this conduct in a way that favoured the APC, they were jubilating and laughing. This same National Secretary did not complain even once.
“I have looked closely at his (Basiru’s) so-called activist credentials. We must be able to look at issues beyond partisan lines. When something is wrong, it is wrong. As a citizen, and as the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, if someone engages in anti-party activity or aligns with another party, I will call that person out. I will say clearly: this does not look good. Either leave that party and join us, or remain independent and support us openly,” the party said.
Ememobong maintained that the APC alone enjoyed whatever political gains arose from Wike’s actions and must therefore deal with the fallout.
“What the APC is experiencing is a voluntary injury they inflicted on themselves, so they must manage him. After all, the benefits of this nuisance accrued to the APC, and they must now manage the fallout.
“This is what happens when you keep feeding a monster. One day, you become food in the belly of that monster. Some people keep feeding the monster, thinking they will always escape, believing they will always have enough food to offer it. They forget that one day the monster may tire of the food being fed to it and ask instead, what would this person taste like? And then, they end up in the belly of the monster,” he added. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vanguardngr.com/2026/01/rivers-you-cant-cry-foul-now-pdp-blasts-apc-over-wike/amp/

Putindbutt: I will never turn my back against Wike. Wike could be very temperamental and seems to have an aggressive approach but do not forget he's a lawyer who picks his fights wisely. Wike hardly fights on the wrong side. Fubara ran into APC for protection, Wike didn't run to Tinubu for protection, he supported Tinubu from day one when everyone else was hiding. He stood by the President gidigba during the hardest period and pulled the chestnut out of the fire. The issue is that Fubara is a very stubborn man, he surrounds himself with enemies of Wike in Rivers State, those who did nothing for him to become Governor. Many of them sitting down with him to share dinner did not even support him during the election but Wike put his life on the line for him. However, since the peace deal was brokered, Fubara has refused to honor the agreements. How can a Governor refuse to work with the state lawmakers and LG chairmen?, how can you run governance alone?. That's the issue Wike has with Fubara. Wike needs nothing from Fubara, he is the FCT minister, he has his own budget, he doesn't need Fubara to get money. When Fubara refused to pay the 27 lawmakers, Wike was responsible for their welfare. He was also carrying PDP until Makinde destroyed everything. Wike's demands is simple, work with the lawmakers and chairmen, if you don't, you won't get a second term.. simple!. How can you ignore those who worked for your election and you dinning with the enemies of your godfather?. I hope when the President comes back, he would talk to Fubara to honour his own side of the agreement otherwise, his second term is at risk. Do you mind sharing the content of the agreement? You seem to be well aware of its terms to conclude that Fubara is the only one reneging on the agreement while Wike is honoring his. |

Police Detain Port Harcourt Pastor Over Alleged Plot To Kill Minister Wike, Hunt For Ex-Rivers SSG
A fresh twist has hit the political war between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, following the arrest of a Port Harcourt–based medical doctor and pastor over an alleged plot to assassinate the former Rivers governor.
Security sources told SaharaReporters that operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) have arrested one Dr. Tombari Joseph Gbeneol, a medical doctor and founder of Life Forte Chapel Church, Port Harcourt, over an alleged plan to kill Wike.
According to the sources, the arrest followed the interception of a phone conversation between Gbeneol and the immediate past Secretary to the Rivers State Government (SSG), Dr. Tammy Danagogo.
In the recorded conversation, the suspects allegedly discussed a plot to bring in Israeli nationals to carry out the assassination of the FCT Minister. The discussion reportedly ended with an alleged plan to approach Governor Fubara for funding to execute the operation.
“The content of the call was considered a grave national security threat,” a senior security source said. “That was what triggered the immediate action by the IRT.”
Following the intelligence report, operatives of the IRT, led by Commissioner of Police Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, moved in and arrested Dr. Gbeneol. He has reportedly been in detention for about two weeks.
Security sources further disclosed that efforts are ongoing to arrest Danagogo, who is alleged to have gone underground since the matter came to light.
The Nigeria Police, however confirmed the arrest of the suspect saying the individual is currently in custody while an investigation is ongoing.
"He is in our custody. Investigation is ongoing," Force Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin told SaharaReporters on Monday, without saying more.
Although the police declined to disclose further details about the suspect’s identity or the nature of the alleged offence, sources familiar with the matter said detectives are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the case and possible accomplices https://saharareporters.com/2026/01/05/breaking-police-detain-port-harcourt-pastor-over-alleged-plot-kill-minister-wike-hunt-ex#google_vignette

Do you lots even have the slightest understanding of the law? Conviction isn’t the standard for forfeiture. The reason isn’t due to any improvement in local healthcare services. However, this did not apply to the president of Nigeria, who has never stepped foot in a Nigerian hospital since becoming president.
Generally, people, including the president still travel abroad for medical reasons and source their dollars through the black market. For the president, however, the money would be delivered by bullion vans straight from the CBN vault, off the record |
