madridguy:Tinubu and the APC disappointed him and the entire state. Tell us why the people of Benue, especially the people Yeltawa and Agatu should vote for the APC. |
Burob:Relax. I never said he wasn’t the best governor Edo State ever had. I simply pointed out that for someone with such a loud reputation, his idea of ‘foreign investment’ seemed to begin and end with importing a woman from Cape Verde. Two things can be true at once , he performed well as governor and he still gave the people of Edo state that international ‘romantic investment’ they didn’t ask for |

That look like a court order. Shouldn’t we first understand the real issue before jumping to conclusions about something we don’t fully know? |
Max24:there is no politician, dead or alive, who has looted Southern Nigeria’s money, especially Lagos funds, more than Tinubu, the current president of Nigeria. This is a man who built a concrete conduit pipe linking the Lagos State treasury and by extension Southern Nigeria to his personal pocket, milking and siphoning the people’s common wealth for more than two decades and counting |
Oshiomhole is a huge disgrace. As governor, the only so-called ‘foreign direct investment’ he brought to Edo State was importing a woman from Cape Verde. |

*Awards N5m Compensation and Medicare Barely one month after ordering the release and compensation of one Abuja-based business woman, Mrs Chineze Ozoadibe, the Director General, State Security Services (DSS), Oluwatosin Adeola Ajayi, has ordered the release of one Kenneth Okechukwu Nwafor, arrested in July 2022, for his alleged involvement in the activities of the proscribed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB). The DG also awarded Nwafor, who hails from Isuikwuato LGA of Abia state, N5 million as compensation for the wrongful arrest and free medicare. Credible security sources revealed that detailed investigation conducted by personnel of the Service exonerated Nwafor. The source noted that the release and compensation are in line with the Director General’s directive that all the cases he inherited be reviewed to ensure due process and prompt dispensation of justice. “The DG directed his investigation officers to conduct detailed review of all pending cases and they have been dutifully doing that. Nwafor’s case is one of such cases’,” the source offered. “The gesture, one of the several by the DG, is a testament to his resolve to comply with the rule of law and adherence to the service standard operating procedure,” he stated, adding, three Abia men, Udemba, Onyedikachi and Eze, suspected of belongings to IPOB, were equally released. “Mr Tosin Ajayi acknowledges that as humans, we sometimes make mistakes. He also believes that when such mistakes are made, the right thing is to make amends. That is why he has established a culture of accountability and humanly makes efforts to remedy the mistakes of the Agency,” added the source. “Remember he paid N20 million as compensation to one Jos- based businessman who was erroneously shot on the leg in the course of a security operation in 2016. Even when the court awarded N10 million in damages against the DSS, the agency refused to pay until Ajayi became DG. He doubled the money. “Nwafor isn’t the first Igbo to be released and compensated under similar circumstances. Some months ago, the DG ordered the release of three young men wrongfully detained for belonging to IPOB. “Last month, he paid N10 million as compensation to the Abuja-based Igbo businesswoman arrested by a sister security agency for alleged illegal oil bunkering. The DG added N10 million for five others to share, explained the source, adding, “This has become the trend since the new DSS leadership.” https://independent.ng/dss-releases-suspected-ipob-member-detained-since-2022/ |
Based on your title, you are asking whether Biafrans have accepted the Osu people. My question to you is: are the Osu people from Congo? |
Educationalserv:Remove the thugs, agberos, hoodlums, governors, GAC influence, senators, House of Representatives members, LGA chairmen, voter intimidation, electoral banditry, compromised INEC officials, compromised security agencies, and the usual ‘system glitches,’ you and I know too well that Tinubu would not even be worth 50,000 votes. Without all these factors, Tinubu would not be able to defeat any presidential candidate today What is Tinubu's electoral value without electoral banditary thuggery agberoism and compromised INEC and security agencies |
Bayo Onanuga is a maád man. He left his principal, who is the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, as well as the police and other security agencies, and is instead attacking CAN. Is CAN a security agency? Why should he rely on CAN for information regarding the kidnapped and rescued students? |

Nigeria’s security challenges need more than pulling police from VIPs, ADC tells Tinubu He added that the claims that the directive would add 100,000 men to the police would only fill numerical gaps. The African Democratic Congress (ADC), on Monday, called for a comprehensive national security strategy that integrates all security agencies into a holistic counter-insurgency force nationwide. In a statement by its national publicity secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, in Abuja, the party said President Bola Tinubu’s directive withdrawing police from VIPs would not meaningfully improve national security. According to Mr Abdullahi, Nigeria’s security challenge is beyond the police and requires broader national collaboration to ensure effective responses within communities nationwide. “While the directive makes good headlines, it is not new and shows the government misunderstands the true nature and complexity of Nigeria’s worsening security crisis. “A country battling terrorism, banditry, mass abductions and violent crime cannot afford to confuse public relations for policy during this national emergency. “To start with, this is not the first time we are hearing this from the government. “In 2025 alone, such orders were issued twice by the IGP, reportedly acting under presidential directives, yet no meaningful actions followed despite expectations for enforcement. “Nevertheless, even if the president succeeds in relieving the police of VIP duties, the security crisis will remain unresolved without systemic reforms and modernised coordination. “We must face the concern that, by their training, mentality and orientation, these policemen are ill-suited and ill-equipped for the desperate emergency confronting the nation,” he said. Mr Abdullahi stated that removing police security from VIPs might please the public or appeal to popular opinion, but the action might fail to address Nigeria’s security problem. He added that the claims that the directive would add 100,000 men to the police would only fill numerical gaps, stressing that the problem was about capability rather than headcount alone. “Even our military struggles with the sophistication and adaptability of insurgents, let alone policemen who are ill-equipped, ill-trained and ill-motivated for counter-insurgency work. “We find it intriguing that while policemen are withdrawn from VIPs, the government replaces them with NSCDC officers whose mandate covers disaster risk reduction and community protection,” he added. The ADC spokesman emphasised that Nigeria’s security challenges must be addressed comprehensively rather than cosmetically, requiring coordinated strategies capable of confronting persistent threats undermining national stability. “What the country’s needs is not reshuffling personnel for headlines but a coherent national security strategy grounded in modernisation, intelligence and institutional integration to produce solutions. “For the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to perform effectively, they must be restructured, re-equipped and retrained to confront contemporary threats. “This work is urgent, and half measures will not suffice because Nigeria requires decisive action and comprehensive reforms to restore security, stability and public confidence,” he stated. Mr Abdullahi urged the government to go beyond pronouncements and initiate a comprehensive overhaul of the country’s entire security architecture. https://gazettengr.com/nigerias-security-challenges-need-more-than-pulling-police-from-vips-adc-tells-tinubu/ |

EFCC nabs archbishop after video shows church members spraying naira notes on cow during service The anti-graft agency said she will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, on Tuesday, arrested a female Archbishop and founder of Faith Healing Ministry, Warri, Delta State, for alleged naira mutilation and money laundering. In a statement on X, on Wednesday, the anti-graft agency said the cleric was nabbed after congregation members under her supervision, sprayed naira notes on a cow. We regret agitating for national chairman to return to North-Central – APC Forum apologizes The North-Central All Progressives Congress, APC, Forum has said it regrets pushing for the appointment of a person from the region as national chairman of the APC. The position of APC national chairman was zoned to the North-Central at the party’s convention in 2022, leading to the emergence of ex-Nasarawa governor Adamu Abdullahi. But following his resignation in 2023 without completing the tenure, Abdullahi Ganduje, a former governor of Kano State in the North-West was appointed the party’s national chairman. The North-Central APC Forum – a group of APC stakeholders from the North-Central states – embarked on a campaign to return the position to the zone. The Forum staged protests, held rallies, organised series of press conferences, issued statements and wrote to organs of the party, particularly the Progressive Governors Forum, over the matter. Eventually, on July 24, 2025, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, from Plateau State in the North-Central, was appointed the party’s national chairman. However, the North-Central APC Forum has said it is disappointed with Yilwatda’s performance, noting that he has not demonstrated the capacity to lead the party. The Forum equally accused the APC national chairman of promoting a religious agenda, and using the office to advance his selfish political interests in Plateau State. The North-Central APC Forum spoke in a statement released on Sunday in Abuja by its Chairman, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga. The statement came after a video clip showed Yilwatda, at a church service, saying he is representing North-Central christians. Condemning Yilwatda’s conduct, the APC Forum extended apologies to all those it wronged while agitating for the return of the party’s national chairmanship position to the North-Central. Parts of the statement read, “We, the North-Central APC Forum, regret our agitation for the return of the position of APC national chairman to the North-Central region. We hereby apologize to party leaders who we wronged in the course of the agitation. We are apologizing to Mr President, we are apologizing to former national chairman Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje and we apologize to other leaders of the party. “We came to this decision because the person who was appointed as APC national chairman from the North-Central, following our agitation, has not displayed the competence to handle such a sensitive position and lead the party to greater heights. He has shown that he is not competent enough to unite the people of the North-Central. “The North-Central is a secular region but the national chairman has been seen to be taking a sectional religious position on sensitive issues. We have seen a viral video clip where he said he is representing the Christians of the North-Central. This is contrary to both party and national principles. Moreover, such a stand is against the leadership of this country. “Having considered these issues, we have decided to apologize for demanding that somebody from the North-Central should be made the national chairman of the APC. We regret our actions. We spent one year in court, we spent one year and six months, and a lot of resources, agitating for that position to return to North-Central, which at the end of the day Mr President and leaders of the party heard our cry. “We are apologizing because we were the only group involved in the agitation.” The APC Forum noted that Yilwatda lacks the required political experience to occupy the position of party national chairman, having never been elected even as a delegate or councillor. The North-Central APC stakeholders urged President Tinubu to appoint a more competent person, from any zone, as national chairman in December 2025, when the party initially scheduled a national convention. The statement added, “But unfortunately, the position was given to somebody that does not understand politics – somebody that has not been in politics for long. He is just about three years in politics. He has never been elected, even as a delegate or councillor. So he is not supposed to hold that big position. He doesn’t know how to talk, he doesn’t know how to unite the people. His handling of the position has scattered the unity party members were enjoying in Plateau State and the North-Central. “We equally appeal to Mr President to, in December, move the position of APC national chairman to any other zone, as long as the person chosen is competent and can guarantee the party’s victory. Even if the convention does not hold in December as planned, we urge Mr President to appoint a competent person from any zone to lead the party.” The Forum stressed that not having the national chairman from the zone would not affect its promise to deliver six million votes to Tinubu from the North-Central in 2027. “The North-Central has enough positions to sustain the party in the zone, including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the Attorney-General of the Federation. We also have the North-Central Development Commission. We don’t need the position of APC national chairman to deliver votes for Mr President in 2027. We have already promised Mr President that we will deliver and we will fulfill our promise.” In the same vein, the APC Forum said Yilwatda is behind the opposition to Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s possible defection to the APC. The Forum has been championing a campaign to convince Muftwang to dump the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the APC. But the leadership of the APC in Plateau State has been opposing the move, passing a resolution to reject the governor’s coming. The Forum said Yilwatda is blocking Mutfwang because of his intention to contest the Plateau governorship election in 2027. Yilwatda was APC gubernatorial candidate in Plateau in 2023, but lost to Muftwang, of the PDP. The North-Central APC Forum told Yilwatda to resign as party national chairman and face his governorship ambition. Yilwatda was also accused of using his position to discredit the North-Central APC Forum’s certificate, issued since 2018, as a party support group. “The national chairman wants to contest Plateau State governorship election again in 2027, that’s why he is blocking Governor Caleb Mutfwang from joining the party. He is sponsoring people to attack us because we are calling on Muftwang to defect to APC, which we believe is in the best interest of the party. “So we are also asking the national chairman to step down from the position and concentrate on his ambition to contest the Plateau State governorship seat in 2027. If he is a true leader he should not block people from coming in to strengthen the party,” the statement added. https://dailypost.ng/2025/11/23/we-regret-agitating-for-national-chairman-to-return-to-north-central-apc-forum-apologizes/ |
