In fact, the EFCC should concentrate on arresting individuals who spray Naira at parties and events, that seems to be the only one financial crime conviction they’ve managed to secure since the emergence of the Tinubu regime

Seyi Tinubu is the next governor of Lagos State.
The coast is clear.

Sanwo-Olu can’t install a successor. Obasa has been told to shelve his ambition, while Gbajabiamila, who also showed interest, has been told to swallow it.

Ambode? He can’t come back. The train has long passed. He remains the most disgraced former governor since the return of democracy in 1999.

As a sitting governor, his party denied him the gubernatorial ticket for a re-election that the constitution guaranteed him. Instead of decamping to another party and using state resources to fight back and upstage the GAC and the drug baron, he chickened out. Had he put up a fight, he might have won through sympathy votes. He had absolutely nothing to lose, But he backed down after being warned that if he tried, he would be impeached and rendered irrelevant.

Today, he is still irrelevant and forgotten, like he was never even a governor of Lagos State. He looks pitiful whenever he appears on TV or at any event. Just there, no recognition. He must be regretting.

PoliticsAPC Thug, Kasali Brags About Nearly Attacking Sowore At Ikogosi Marathon by Ofunaofu(op): 2:56am On Nov 10, 2025
...... For Criticising Ekiti Governor

Sowore had criticised Governor Oyebanji for failing to deliver visible development in the state despite numerous campaign billboards and propaganda.

An All Progressives Congress (APC) thug and social media influencer, Oluwafemi Kasali, has admitted that he nearly attacked human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, when the latter came to collect his Ikogosi Marathon package in Ekiti State on Saturday.

Kasali, speaking on social media, said “I would have beaten Sowore up when he came to collect his Ikogosi Marathon package — if someone hadn’t calmed me down.”

He admitted that he was inside the hall where Sowore received his race bib and other materials for the marathon, and that he was restrained by one Aanu Albert Aluko, who advised him against violence.

Kasali said his anger stemmed from Sowore’s public criticism of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji.

Sowore had criticised Governor Oyebanji for failing to deliver visible development in the state despite numerous campaign billboards and propaganda.

Sowore had written, "The day before yesterday and throughout my visit to Ekiti State, I saw no real development, nothing that could justify the flood of glossy billboards scattered across the state, each one urging people to vote again for Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO).

"How do we keep celebrating failure in broad daylight? How do we let propaganda paper over poverty, bad roads, collapsing infrastructure, and the absence of visionary leadership? Not even in his hometown, Ikogosi, could you see anything tangible, I say so because sometimes these do-nothing governors sometimes try to decorate their hometowns."

Sowore, who ran 17.5 kilometres from Ilawe to Ikogosi, had remarked after the event that the state showed “no visible signs of progress” under the current administration.

Also, Sowore confirmed that “Governor Oyebanji’s minions” had threatened his hosts and associates throughout his stay in the state.

But he maintained that he remained committed to spending time with the people of Ekiti and speaking truth to power.

Only in the first week of November, Sowore also came under attack in Lagos State while joining the protests against illegal demolitions in the Oworonshoki area.

A leaked audio obtained by SaharaReporters had exposed an alleged plot by political thugs loyal to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State to assassinate Sowore.

In the audio, one of the thugs could be heard boasting about a standing order to attack and kill Sowore whenever he is spotted in Lagos.

“If they catch Sowore, these people are not police, they are thugs. They are planning to kill him anywhere they see him,” the voice said.

Suspected Lagos APC Thug In Leaked Audio Confirms Alleged Plot To Assassinate Sowore

The voice, which is of one Timileyin Ishola Olafimihan alias "Is nothing" further warned activists and supporters not to accompany Sowore on his next trip to Lagos, insisting that “the boys have been mobilised and paid to do the job.”

SaharaReporters learnt further that the plot was allegedly hatched by a group of APC loyalists who see Sowore’s growing influence among young Nigerians as a “threat” to their political structure in Lagos.

The planned assassination is also not unconnected with Sowore’s recent participation against illegal demolitions of houses at Oworonshoki community in Lagos.

When SaharaReporters contacted Timileyin Ishola who spoke in the audio, he instantly denied any planned assassination against Sowore.

He said, “Don’t mind the audio. I was only joking and the person I sent it to is like my neighbour. No thug is planning to assassinate Sowore.”

Last Monday, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Moshood Jimoh, unilaterally declared human Sowore ‘wanted’ after he led a protest against injustice in Oworonshoki.

Speaking at the scene of the demolition on Monday, Jimoh had accused Sowore of allegedly storming Lagos to “instigate unrest” and mobilise residents against the state government’s controversial demolition exercise.

Witnesses told SaharaReporters that the protesters, mostly displaced families, were chanting solidarity songs and demanding that the government halt further demolitions and provide alternative shelter.

Reacting, Human rights lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Marshal Abubakar criticised the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Jimoh Moshood.

The prominent lawyers described him as “acting like an illiterate” for unilaterally declaring Sowore wanted

So governors were owing previously because it was fashionable to owe then not for any financial contraints? Including when Buhari had to give them bailouts?
Can you compare the value of the minimum wage under the Jonathan administration with that of the current minimum wage under Tinubu?
By value, I mean what the minimum wage can actually afford in terms of purchasing power.

The reason the Tinubu administration isn’t celebrating the increase in the minimum wage from 30,000 to 70,000 as a major achievement is that it would highlight how poorly the economy has been managed. It will be ian indictment of the government’s performance, given the widespread hardship, rising hunger, and growing poverty.

You can’t remove fuel subsidies, devalue the naira to the point of near worthlessness, and raise the pump price of fuel from below N200 per litre to around 1,000 naira along with the resulting increase in transportation costs, inflation, and food prices and then turn around to boast about giving more money to state governors or claim that they no longer owe salaries. It simply doesn’t make sense.

Ikaeniyan0:
Your state governor is getting more money under Tinubu administration. No state governor in Nigeria is struggling to pay civil servants again. There was a time a lot of states couldn't afford to pay civil servants
The reason governors are no longer owing salaries isn’t because they are receiving significantly more funds. Rather, it’s simply because it’s no longer fashionable to owe salaries in today’s Nigeria, where the 70,000 naira minimum wage can barely afford a single bag of rice. In contrast, under previous regimes, that a minimum wage could buy at least two bags of rice, with some change left to purchase other essentials. So what is there to owe?

You can’t compare the value of the money governors used to receive before Tinubu grabbed, snatched, and ran away with power to what they receive today. Yes, they are receiving more in naira terms, but the value of that money has depreciated by over 400 percent.

For instance, before Tinubu assumed office, a kilometer of road could be built for less than 200 million naira Today, under his administration, the same kilometer costs about 1 billion and or more, in some cases, as much as 7.5 billion naira per kilometer, as seen in the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway project.

PoliticsNo Christian Genocide In Nigeria – Supreme Islamic Council Fires Back At Trump by Ofunaofu(op): 9:22pm On Nov 09, 2025
....alleges US agenda

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, NSCIA, has strongly rejected the designation of Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” by former United States President Donald Trump.

The council described the claim of “Christian genocide” in the country as a dangerous foreign propaganda aimed at destabilising Nigeria.

Speaking in Abuja on Sunday, the National Secretary of the Council, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, said the genocide narrative being peddled by the US government and far-right lobbyists is false, politically motivated, and targeted at inciting religious division in Africa’s most populous nation.

According to him, there is no evidence to support claims that Nigerian Muslims are persecuting Christians. The Muslim Ummah clarified that the insecurity ravaging the country is caused by terrorism, criminality, poverty, and the effects of climate change, which have displaced communities and triggered violent clashes over resources.

“There is no Christian genocide in Nigeria. Both Muslims and Christians are victims of terrorists and criminal gangs,” Oloyede stated. “These attackers do not represent Islam. They kill Muslims, destroy mosques, and target everyone.”

He cited independent investigations, including findings by Amnesty International and global conflict monitors, which concluded that violence in Nigeria does not meet the legal definition of genocide under international law.

Oloyede further claimed that the renewed push to label Nigeria a religious-persecution zone intensified after Nigeria reaffirmed its support for a two-state solution in Palestine at the United Nations. He alleged that pro-Israeli and far-right groups are driving the narrative to divert attention from the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

“The agenda is distraction and destabilisation. The fastest way to break Nigeria is to inflame religious tensions,” he warned.

The Islamic Council called on Nigerians, both Christian and Muslim, to reject foreign interference and resist attempts to turn genuine security challenges into sectarian conflict.

Oloyede urged the US to withdraw its statement and instead support Nigeria with intelligence and logistical aid to combat terrorism.

“We will not allow foreign interests to fragment Nigeria. We stand for unity, peace, and justice,” he concluded.

The Council also appealed to the Nigerian government to strengthen security, expose sponsors of banditry, and protect all citizens regardless of faith.

Recall that President Trump threatened military action on Nigeria over alleged killings of Christians.

Trump’s comment came after he had earlier designated Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern.

However, the Nigerian government in several responses had rejected Trump’s Trump has rather called on the US and others to fight insecurity in the country.

PoliticsGenocide By Detention': Sowore Condemns Tinubu Government by Ofunaofu(op): 1:02pm On Nov 09, 2025
Genocide By Detention': Sowore Condemns Tinubu Government For Continuing Buhari-Era Secret Detentions At Wawa Barracks In Niger State

Sowore noted that the detainees held inside the facility were being subjected to secret trials presided over by federal judges ferried into the barracks under heavy security.

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has accused the President Bola Tinubu-led Nigerian government for perpetrating what he called “genocide by unlawful detention” through the continued use of Wawa Barracks in Niger State as a secret prison and torture site.

Sowore made the revelation in a post shared on his verified social media pages on Sunday, describing the facility as “a hidden horror” where the Nigerian state has, for years, detained hundreds of citizens incommunicado under inhumane conditions.

According to him, “the Nigerian government has, for years, used Wawa Barracks in Niger State as a secret detention and torture facility, one of the gravest crimes against humanity committed under the regime of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, and shamefully continued under Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

Sowore noted that the detainees held inside the facility were being subjected to secret trials presided over by federal judges ferried into the barracks under heavy security.

He said: “Inside this notorious facility, hundreds are held incommunicado, many accused, without evidence, of being members or sympathisers of IPOB. Federal judges are routinely ferried to Wawa Barracks to conduct secret trials, closed to the public and devoid of transparency.”
The pro-democracy activist also claimed that detainees are routinely denied access to their lawyers and human rights observers, while their families are kept in the dark about their whereabouts."

“Detainees are denied access to lawyers and human rights observers, while their families, unaware of their fate, are left to believe they are either dead or disappeared,” Sowore wrote.

He described the entire operation as “state-sanctioned genocide, a deliberate erasure of human lives through secrecy, silence, and suffering.”

Calling for urgent action, Sowore demanded the immediate and unconditional release of all persons currently detained at Wawa Barracks, insisting that anyone accused of a crime should be charged before a competent court and granted access to legal counsel and their families.

“Those accused of any offence must be charged and tried openly in a court of law, with full access to their families, legal representation, and human rights groups,” he said.

Sowore concluded his statement with a strong rebuke of global silence on the matter, declaring that “the world must no longer look away. Justice delayed is not just denied; it is also destroyed.”

Wawa Barracks, officially known as the Nigerian Army Cantonment, New Bussa, has long been accused by human rights groups of operating as an off-the-record military detention centre, where terror suspects and political detainees are held indefinitely without trial.

SaharaReporters had reported how eleven individuals travelling home to the South-East after attending the court trial of Nnamdi Kanu, detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), were intercepted by the Department of State Services (DSS) near Lokoja, Kogi State in July 2021.

Accused of being members of IPOB’s armed wing, the Eastern Security Network, they were reportedly swiftly detained and held in an underground DSS facility in Abuja.

Within weeks, two of them, Nonso Awoke, a final-year computer science student at Ebonyi State University, and Pius Awoke, a practising lawyer, were separated from the group, shackled, and sent for what authorities called “military investigation.”

They ended up in Wawa Barracks.

Sowore had also described the facility as a secret detention and torture facility that “stands as one of the worst crimes against humanity committed under the regime of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.”

In one of his tweets posted three months ago, Sowore added: “His notorious DSS Director, Yusuf Bichi Magaji (who is currently working to be turbaned as the Emir of Bichi in Kano State after his wife and son absconded to Germany with huge sums looted from Nigeria) actively funneled Nigerians into this dark site.

“In this place, due process was suspended, human rights were trampled, and many were shipped out there but never returned, not even their dead bodies were released.

“We are still pursuing justice for victims like the couple from Enugu, Sunday Ifedi and his wife, Callister, who was abducted and sent to Wawa Barracks by Bichi himself, after accusing the couple of being IPOB members. They reportedly perished there without a trace.

“Buhari and Bichi enabled such wickedness. Wawa Barracks operators, including the judges who go on paid "vacation" there to give kangaroo judgments, must be held accountable.

‘Tinubu Government Focused On 2027 Election While Nigerians Die Daily’ — CAN Ex-President

Ayokunle condemned what he called the government’s “deliberate inaction” amid the widespread killings of Christians in Plateau, Benue, and Southern Kaduna, saying the silence of Nigerian authorities only confirms their complicity.

A former President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev Samson Ayokunle, has accused the Bola Tinubu-led government of prioritising the 2027 general election over the safety of Nigerians, describing the administration as “shameless and directionless” in the face of rising insecurity and mass killings across the country.

Ayokunle, who served as CAN President between 2016 and 2022, alleged that entire Christian communities in the Middle Belt had been wiped out by armed groups, many of whom he said now occupy lands seized from victims.

Speaking in an interview with PUNCH, Ayokunle condemned what he called the government’s “deliberate inaction” amid the widespread killings of Christians in Plateau, Benue, and Southern Kaduna, saying the silence of Nigerian authorities only confirms their complicity.

"They are only focused on how to win the 2027 election when they have not done the needful for 2025 and 2026. I don’t know why people can be so shameless about their non-performance, especially in the area of security. They are so preoccupied with 2027, instead of focusing on how to save people’s lives," the former CAN leader said.

“How can anyone be playing politics with the blood of innocent people being shed every day?”

He described the killings in the Middle Belt as “deliberate genocide,” challenging the government to prove otherwise.

“Please ask those disputing it — how many people do they want to be killed before they accept that it is genocide?” he said.

“In Miango, Plateau State, 21 people were killed overnight. Twenty were members of my church, the Baptist Convention, and one was a Methodist. Two weeks later, they came back to finish the job. We claim to have the military and the police, yet nothing happened.”

Reacting to claims that both Christians and Muslims are victims of attacks, Ayokunle said the government’s attempt to downplay the religious persecution was “a lazy defence” to mask its failures.

“Now they are coming up with statistics that more Muslims have been killed than Christians. From what research? This is a government that has not conducted a census in 40 years. It’s simply a lazy government that has lost direction,” he declared.

He accused federal authorities of shielding the perpetrators and failing to end the violence for over 16 years, saying successive administrations had “played politics with blood.”

Ayokunle also backed the recent warning by U.S. President Donald Trump, who reportedly threatened to take military action if Nigeria fails to stop what he described as “Christian genocide.”

“It is a wake-up call to our clueless government,” Ayokunle said.

“If what is happening is embarrassing the international community, how come it’s not embarrassing our government? With all the military, police, DSS, and civil defence, what excuse do they have? Don’t dare Trump. He does everything he says he will do.”

When asked if he supports foreign military intervention in Nigeria, Ayokunle said he would welcome it if that was what it would take to restore peace.

“If that will give us peace, let it be. Nigerians just want to live freely in their own country. You cannot just stand in government like imbeciles doing nothing while people die daily.”

The former CAN President accused President Tinubu of hypocrisy, recalling how the APC leader once led protests against former President Goodluck Jonathan over similar killings in the North.

“Didn’t Tinubu and his allies, back in 2014, campaign and protest against Jonathan over these same killings, calling for international intervention?” he asked.

“When it was convenient politically, they called it Christian persecution. Now they say it’s both Christians and Muslims. What has changed?”

Ayokunle warned that history would judge leaders who “choose power over justice.”

“Is your personal ambition worth the shedding of innocent blood? That is the moral question before them. They will answer to God one day,” he added.

The cleric urged the current leadership of CAN to be more vocal on national issues, saying silence in the face of such atrocities was unacceptable.

“If the National Executive Council of CAN feels the present leadership is not doing enough, let them speak out. Journalists should also demand answers from them,” he said.

Ayokunle said Nigeria’s image had been destroyed internationally due to years of weak leadership and corruption.

“Disgraceful leaders will produce a nation of disgrace,” he said.

“A group of young people claiming to fight for Islam has held the entire country hostage for years. Our leaders brought this shame upon us.”

Please, spare us the moral lectures. It’s on record that Tinubu’s APC is a party in bed with terrorists and bandits commiting heinous crimes, sacking villages , razing towns mounting flags. APC and their hoardes of supporters have zero credibility to talk about law and order. This is the same party that claims to ‘negotiate’ with terrorists, absorbs ‘repentant’ fighters into the military, and watches bandits butcher Nigerians daily without consequence.
