Education › Abnormal Celebration By Students by ogashman(op): 7:53am On Sep 28, 2015
THE ABNORMAL CELEBRATION OF GRADUATION BY NIGERIAN STUDENTS.
I'm really pained n disappointed as I'm writing this.my disappointment is deeply rooted to d way n manner students celebrate graduatn from higher institution. No doubt,In dis country of ours,it is a privilege n blessing for one to successfully pass thru primary, secondary n higher institutn of learning with all d strikes n all d obstacles b4 wearing d tag "graduate".
But dat does not justify d kind of barbaric celebrations engaged in by these purported "graduates" n their fellow undergraduates in higher institutns.students engage in pouring n pelting themselves wit all manner of liquids ranging from dirty water, palm oil n mud water.som of the graduates even get pelted with satchet water. As it hit dem like a blow,it bursted on their bodies.those who couldn't bear the pain, cried. Now this is d mst cruel of all. After my last paper during d just concluded exams,I watched in awe as this archaic tradition began.I observed it started from exam halls.even those in hostels were not spared. Every1 ran helter skelter. I tot I ve seen the worse until I came off campus. buckets n jerrycans of water were littered everywhere. every1 ws in possessn of a bucket of water n a cup which wil aid splashing d water"viciously" on their victims.I watched as d final yr students were identified n same treatmnt metted out to dem.in som cases, they were accosted, while their pleas were given deaf ears as everybody scrambled to show off his "water pouring skills"as if ther is a medal for that.those who made to run were pursued, witout bearing in mind dat the pursuer n d pursued could get injured.Besides, those on moving bikes were not exempted, "water pourers" hanging at every corner made sure they n even the bike men got their shares of d craze.
We may see it as a fun thing, but it has so many dire consequences n negative effects that could lead to death or bodily harm:I witnessed a situation where an asthmatic final yr student fainted while she was being poured water. Immediately she fainted, those pouring water on her scampered away.it took d effort of a close-by nurse to resuscitate her.I ve also read online, where a final yr student who was being pursued ran to his death inside a "soak away".it will be detrimental for the authorities to apprehend you for being responsible for a student's death or injury.u could also sustain injuries dat would give u a permanent scar or even disfigure part of ur body while engaging in dis act.I wonder what it is we re celebrating.u jus graduated, u re yet to see ur final exam results, u re yet to go for service n u ve not even gotten a job.I think all this energy should be channeled towards building a fulfilling career after graduation.
I'm using this medium to implore d generality of Nigerian students to eschew this dangerous act,as some students who do not mean well for others use this opportunity to practically show their anger, resentment n dislike.there re better ways to celebrate graduation.u could hang out with family or ur friends,go to d cinemas, clubs, church, mosque& ve a drink at a bar.these would be cool.

Education › Suggestions For A Departmental President. by ogashman(op): 9:06am On Sep 26, 2015
I ve a frnd in school who jus won d position of d president of his department (chemical engineering),during one of our discussions,he asked dat I tell him some student friendly programs he could execute dat would benefit d dept.although I came up with few, like orientation program, souvenirs, n tutorials. but I think these re just d basics.they re expected to be done yearly(in my school).
I would need ur contributions as to other new programs one could add to these ones.probably any activity or event u did while in school.these would go go a long way to guide my friend to write his name in gold,as that is driving force.

400billionman:
What differenciates it from custard.

What is your selling point ?
it is more nutritious because it is made from whole grains.with its flavor n other additives added, makes it taste better.and also small qty of it gives a large volume after preparation.

Business › Need Suggestions On This New Product by ogashman(op):
I'm a student of chemical engineering.I developed an edible product which I called HAPITARD.it is made out of grains.its in powdered form.u can prepare it the same way u prepare custard.it coagulates jus like custard.after preparation, u can add sugar n milk to taste.it can be consumed by everybody both young n old.

d issue is DAT I'm financially constrained to start carrying out production. if u think its a good n viable product n would like to invest ,u can contact me.
if u also ve any advice pertaining to how best a powdered product can be packaged ,it will be welcomed.
thanks in anticipation of ur responses.
