ferhyntorlah: I disagree sir This has nothing to do with popularity but rather scheming.
Saraki schemed with the opposition against the party to clinch the Senate presidency seat. All these happened because Buhari wasn't firm.
The same thing is what Yari wanted to do but he forgot that the new sheriff isn't laid back like the previous ones. but tinubu didn't scheme to win APC ticket and president ABI... Some of u lack understanding... It's not president Job to choose leaders for nass it's duty of nass and all members have right to contest which Yari just exercised... By the way nass isn't APC headquarters it's has PDP LP NNPP guys too... |

But isn’t this true?
A first time senator isn’t eligible become a SP.. is just convention not constitutional |
Politics › Re: Akpabio Wins Senate President Election by OGHENAOGIE(m): 9:41am On Jun 13, 2023 |
GeneralPula: North didn’t support any Yari. Yari visited Buhari and he told Yari straight not to go against party choice!
They stood with Akpabio.. anyone expecting Yari to win is like expecting LP with Obi to beat APC and PDP... Yari wasn't popular Amongst colleagues like Akpabio... Just like Lawan couldn't have beaten saraki in 2015 |

Zico5: The truth of the matter is that the president of Nigeria is too powerful. He gets whatever he wants. I know Akpabio will be the senate president so far he is supported by Tinubu. For those people still looking for their manhood. They are on the long run. I just pray they begin to mend fences as earlier as possible. North no dey joke when it comes to election. If you fail in the North, you have lost already. Akpabio won cos he is popular... Even without tinubu endorsement Akpabio ll win... In 2011 was GEJ not there when tambuwai won speaker ahead of mukailat PDP anionted.. ? 2015 saraki won cos he was popular Amongst his colleagues too... |

But I agree that they should be able to fill up the stadium... I remember when I was serving in Nasarawa, Nasarawa United used to give bonus to corp members, so corp members dey always full their stadium, among normal fans... If other states copy that, I'm sure the number of fans in the stadium will increase why give bonus? Who ll pay for it. See why football isn't business here... Can arsenal give bonus or Al ahly in Egypt... Fans have to love these clubs and be willing to pay |

U can't compare that with Nigeria... Iwuala was earning 500k monthly playing for enyimba when he went to Esperance his salary was around 20m monthly... Working with your enemies is like playing with fire. who told them GEJ wasn't interested in 2011 PDP endorsed David mark for Senate he won unopposed... It was rep's tambuwai and ihedioha team up with ACN CPC to twart mukailat that was PDP annioted... Those who wanna contest should be allowed to do it's their rights... Engrduke: A political leader should be able to govern the populace effectively and at the same time put his house (political party) in order.
I think Jagaban has an edge over Buhari here. Another Saraki episode may never succeed under Tinubu. Those who are aversed to the emergence of Akpabio as Senate President should consider something.
Some people have been alleging APC of "Islamization" agenda. The House of Representatives Speaker is definitely going to be a Muslim considering the available contestants. If Yari emerges again as the Senate President, then both NASS leaders will be Muslims and no sincere human being can blame APC for that. Besides, it implies that the Vice President, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senate President and Speaker House of Representatives will all be from the North.
Tuesday's inauguration is not far from us. Till then, fingers crossed. if all are from North ll heaven fall after all president vice na Muslim... 2019 osinbajo gbajia are Yoruba and from Lagos too... It's left for nass members to decide who rules them... |

Yankiss: Why wont the executive allow the National Assembly to elect their respective President and Speaker? Handpicking and endorsing for these elective posts is another way of destroying checks and balances. It only breeds dictatorship. GEJ was never interested in the leadership of the national assembly, same for Yar Adua. We need balanced leadership with all three arms strictly independent. those stepping down no get much support otherwise they ll contest and win... During APC president primaries tinubu opposed consensus went to the Field and won cos he was sure of himself... And mind u whatever happens legislature is independent na Dem go decide who precides over their affairs... |
