LadyExcellency:
African leaders should stop begging and talk like equals. What's the distance between Israel and Egypt (an African giant)?

It's time we take a stand, d and stand our ground as Benjamin Netanyahu does.
Guess that was why they killed Gaddafi... He was gaining traction with his united Africa campaign hence he had to leave the scene.
Forget about all the human rights gibberish they fronted for their action the truth remains that a united Africa will be a force to reckon with.

tesppidd:
Just balling.

The men are really enjoying the attention on them and their newly acquired celebrity status.

It is just unfortunate that in Nigeria we only see injustice in Abuja or the Federal level whereas the biggest injustices take place at state levels.

The governors are lords and autocrats in their states but screem injustice everywhere.

Wike removed Secondus and put Ayu at a time when he must have thought that Secondus was from the core Northern state of Kano while Ayu was from the Southern state of Akwa Ibom, as a fight for the South.

Wike then lost the battle to be VP candidate and all of a sudden he became a crusader for Southern rights.

Ortom was the chairman of PDP zoning committee and he presided and threw the race open instead of speaking for Southern presidency.

In Rivers state Wike handpicked both the PDP state Chairman and the PDP governorship candidate from the same senatorial zone but that is not unfair because it happens at state level.
It only becomes unfair if it happens at national level.

Just let it be known, these G5 people are fighting for their pockets.

But at the end of the day let the division continue for PDP,
the more the wahala the merrier the wahala.
May your days be long and may you continue to say things the way they are. You have said it all bro.

Ikpeazu has no say in Abia politics. He is a stooge planted by his benefactor, Orji. Ikonne is a replacement Orji brought to take over from ikpeazu. Whatever you see ikonne do is ordered by Orji, which means ikpeazu is on his own with wike.

BusinessRe: Aloy Chife Asks CBN To Abolish Official FOREX Market, Allow Naira Float by ogmask: 8:29am On Nov 04, 2022
Emeskhalifa:
THE CURRENCY SITUATION: A MUST READ

1). So many Nigerians have stacked Naira notes in their closets and are cut up with this policy of the CBN. There is a rush by ignorant Nigerians to convert their Naira to Dollars. Naira is at all time low against dollar and it's going to go even lower. For example a man converts #10m to 12,500 USD at the current exchange rate. It's easier to keep it with himself than to deposit in a Domiciliary account with a DMB because of the stringent policies around FX cash deposits. He hopes that by December when the new Nigeria is floated, he'd have his FX converted back to Naira from the Aboki guys he bought his USD from.

2)The Aboki man who sold FX to his customers at exorbitant rate excitedly goes to the DMB to deposit the millions of Naira he got the the FX swap he did. He knows he is getting richer in geometric proportion by this new policy by the CBN. He awaits the printing of the new Naira notes so as to reconvert the Naira he has in his account today USD and continue making more money.

3). All customers who deposited their Naira notes, those depositing and those who would be depositing are eagerly waiting for December 15. The DMBs are also waiting for the said date. Meanwhile there is a cashless policy waiting to hit all Nigerians by January 2023. On December 15th, customers would rush to the DMBs for new notes so as to withdraw as much as they can before January when the cashless policy would be effected 100%. The DMBS would rush to the central bank branches to withdraw new notes. The branches would go to the H/O for new notes. H/O would release just a little to branches based on cash management policies. CBN Branches would release in trinkets to DMB branches and tell them to go manage their customers. DMBs would revert back to their customers based on the low available new cash notes. There would be slight panicking as customers who deposited old naira notes cannot retrieve same notes from the DMBs anymore because of unavailability. Remember, digital money and paper money is still money and so customers would be advised to use electronic channels to make payments.

4) The Aboki guy who kept millions of Naira is also a victim of the shortage of new notes and so he cannot buy back FX from his customers who were hoping to return the ones the got earlier ones the new notes are in place. Aboki begins to panick as well. Those who have FX and need naira notes begin to sell their FX to people who have naira whether old or new just to cash in before January. In doing so, USD begins to crash as rapidly as it rose. Much of the FX becomes deposited in DMBs as carrying the raw cash isn't useful anymore. The CBN is happy because there is more FX in the banking system to give for Forms A, M and Q. Naira begins to gain rapidly against the dollar.

5). In January, cashless policy takes effect. So even if the CBN makes available more new notes to DMBs, customers cannot withdraw above the stipulated across-the-counter limit to avoid heavy charges. Customers are forced to use electronic payments, FX policy and transfer and withdrawal is so stiff that swapping FX and Naira is no more a gain. USD parallel and black market prices crash all the way down to CBN rate. Inflation based on importation of goods and services is checked as Naira becomes strong against dollar. People who have physical dollars would lose. There would be limited access to naira notes as electronic transfers become prevalent. Enaira purchases also become more as Nigerians look for most seamless methods to do payments. By June, whoever takes over power would have a soft landing as this policy by the CBN has controlled a whole lot of inflation, corruption and economic degradation.

6). If you have Naira notes stashed with you, return them back to the bank through your account. Don't try to play smart trying to beat the system, you may become the architect of your own loss. Your 12,500 USD may fall from #10,000,000 to #5,000,000 in June, 2023. Meanwhile if you put same #10,000,000 in Treasury Bills at the current 14.5%, you should be gaining about #725,000 at the same period.

Let's try and look at the bright side of things, Nigeria shall be great by God's grace.
Thanks for this brother.
You know with this country reality is far from theory. I just hope we get it right with this policy. I am a car dealer and I know what I pass thru to buy, ship and clear my cars at the wharf. Hopefully, I should be able to access Fx more easily for my biz when the new policy sits in.

Ask those who live in the City to tell you the impact of the flyovers
I live in the city, the money spent on those flyovers should have been put to better and more useful options. The flyovers are too many and almost counter productive when you branch off to the minor roads.

Airport, Seaport and whatever you wish to add have been in PH for eons. PH first Seaport was built in 1912( 110years ago). Airport was in 1970s thereabout. So what the fuss.

We are talking urban renewal and redevelopment due to expansion in population.

So would Wike build more airport's and seaports when we already have atleast 2 of each??
So why is Lagos building more airport and seaport if it wasn't necessary. So when there's is expansion in population you build bridges? Whatever happens to opening up new areas like the greater Portharcourt his predecessor started or completing some of the housing projects or even initiate new ones. Apart from Lagos state other state are lagging in urban renewal my brother. The thing is, like is not a standard when it comes to good governance. No elected leader in Nigeria is tho.

This Flyover alleviates the perennial traffic jam witnessed at the Ikoku junction that motorists avoided like a leprous junction.
Go to your state you won't go. Your business is to criticize efforts made by others .
Your problem is ignorance and lack of exposure. If you swallow everything like this hook line and sinker you'd remain forever a slave. The fly overs are mostly unnecessary but you are as blind as a bat to see.

Udom has not done anything. Akwa Ibom is still a village compared to Rivers. undecided
Rivers is not same thing as Phc bro. Udom has opened up many rural roads and also done we'll with the airport and airline. What about the deep sea port to mention a few.
As for rivers, it is just a glorified concrete jungle. No plans no direction. The gov wakes up and builds over bloated fly overs where he could have blocks maybe an intersection to redirect traffic.
TravelRe: Rivers State Completes Ikoku Flyover by ogmask: 9:35am On Nov 02, 2022

If you're moving about with your leg or public transport (which is not a bad thing) you may not appreciate the flyovers.

I moved from Zenith bank Rumuola road to tank junction in 8 minutes. That journey would have taken 30-45 minutes in the past. I would have used more fuel, put more wear and tear on the engine and spent productive time on the road

You say having 8 flyovers on Aba road is useless. My brother you are very wrong. Look at what is happening at First bank Junction along the same Aba road. The hold up sometimes starts from that junction down to Rivers state government ICT centre opposite pleasure Park. This is because the volume of vehicles coming from Rumuola and the Volume coming from Artillery is too much for that junction. If he had constructed another flyover there, you would have thought it was useless. However, it would have prevented the gridlock sometimes experienced at that place. Hopefully the incoming governor will put another one there.

Now let's talk of people oriented projects. Is the law school a people oriented project? How about the campuses of Rivers state University he built in remote areas to bring developments to those places? The Dr. ODILI cancer center nko? Is it people oriented?

You see if you remove your bias, you can easily see that Wike has done tremendously well.
Let me day something that most of u may not have thought of. Flyovers do not primarily ease traffic especially when done the way wike did it on Aba road. If you go to benin city you will not fond a single flyover in that city which is almost 5 time bigger than Portharcourt. In time past there was serious hold up especially around the ring road area, akpakpava, new Benin and even 5 junctions to mention a few. What the govt in that state did was put a law in place that forbids private and commercial vehicles from dropping or picking up passengers anywhere close to T junctions and intersections. You do not need flyovers per day to achieve your 8mins drive on Aba road. Think of it this way, remove the bridges at GRA, CFC, and Waterlines junction. Erect medians on that spot to discourage turning then do the following;
1. Build and interchange at the garrison, mile 1, Rumuola and Artillery.
2. Do a one way turning immediately after the mile 1 bridge that takes you back to the garrison end.
3. Do same as 2 at Rumuola interchange that takes you back to garrison end. Same with artillery junction.
4. Stop buses and taxis from waiting or loading anywhere near major junctions.
5. Fix internal/ minor roads to accommodate the traffic from Aba road.
6. Remove the slabs causing blind spots from under the bridges that would have been built.

If you build bridges at every turn you will soon turn the city into a concrete jungle.

Take a cue from the presidential hotel junction by Aba road, you'd notice that you would have to turn right to GRA junction before you can turn towards artillery. That's how GRA, Waterlines, market junction and even the first bank you mentioned should be. Turning into the road at every junction causes gridlock. Block all the T junctions and intersections and build interchanges, mind you not just flyovers, to tackle the volume of traffic.

As for the pple oriented projects you mentioned, yes he has built campuses and the law school. The question is to what end? The law school right at the nose of rivers state university will create no more than shop floor jobs for the pple of the state. Would you compare that to the red or blue rail in Lagos or the Ibeno deep sea port project in Akwa ibom. Let's not even talk of the congestion the law school will bring to that area when it kicks off. If he must do it like he did why not take it to greater Portharcourt or even Etche or igirita. All of this is close to Phc.
You do not spend that amount of money and call it pple oriented when primary and secondary education in your state us in comatoes. What kind if development according to you will the law school attract to that tight area of Phc or rivers state as a whole.

He doesn't have to..
Besides... Sanwo Olu..initiated the Red line rail project which is longer than the blue line only the blue line was met at no less than 50% completed ..
Sanwo Olu also paid for the trains for the redline which are now in Lagos And 2 sets of electric trains for the blue line

The part he is constructing cost no less than 70bn..

The cost of wike's flyover combined will never match the cost of the blue line not to talk of combining it with the red line..

The economic impact.
Contribution to growth, development and ease in transportation can never match

No state governor's project beats sanwo olu's flagship project in just under 4 years..

Wike's flyover have little benefit and impact .they are merely to deceive naive and gullible folks..

Flyovers are something Lagos has been building since the 1970s..no big deal..
With all the flyovers Wike built plus the existing no. of flyovers he met.. the total is not up to the no. of flyovers in Lagos state
God bless you... And I ask how wike was able to get the award for infrastructure with his mediocre and irrelevant bridges. Too much politics and bribery with wike. Udom of Akwa ibom has done far more than 10 wikes combined not to mention sanwo olu

Just curious ... to anyone who knows that area..... from the photo the heavy traffic is going from left to right .... west to east... but the flyover is from south to north... with very light traffic. How would this flyover really help? .... because I can't see how it will reduce the west to east traffic. Can you explain?
I live in Portharcourt and I can tell you that 80% of the flyovers are useless. This particular one is the most useless among them. It leads to nowhere other than his (wike's) father's church. If you look at the picture very well you'd notice something else other than the irrelevance of the bridge on that spot. The flyover is like an elephant seating on a narrow lane. He merely used the flyover to chase out the Igbo traders at Ikoku to pave the way for one of his numerous supermarkets scattered all over.
Imagine having 8 flyovers on a straight road of not more than 10km. The traffic is still very much in Portharcourt because pple don't live on the flyovers, they will branch off to the minor roads at some point and this is where the real traffic is.
Udom, umahi and sanwo Olu are miles apart when it comes to pple oriented projects. Even ganduje's flyover is much more strategic and purposeful than all of Wike's bridges.
