Isnt it absolute stupidity for a state with so much unemployment, zero power supply, and absolutely no infrastructure, to ware house 75 billion in a cormercial bank like diamond bank.. while bankers wont even borrow the money out to Anambra indegene but to the likes of Dangote and Rabiu of Biu groups

75billion would construct a gas pipeline from Imo gas flaring fields, build a 1000 Megawatt Thermal/gas turbine power station and give Anambra 24/7 electricity with enough to sell to other state while their industries drastically develop

Sources, as reported by the Guardian, alleged that the allegations made against Adesina were orchestrated by the American representative at the bank, Stephen Dowd, whom the French press unmasked. It was also Dowd, a member of the Ethics Committee, who also leaked the complaints to staff, the public, and the press, in what was clearly the beginning of an assault and a major smear campaign

But why does the United States want Adesina removed as President? The reasons are legion. According to sources in and outside of the Africa’s premier development institution, there was and there has always been an insidious attempt by the United States to remove Adesina as president of the bank.

The Guardian’s findings indicate that, the United States of America, one of the non-African shareholders, has not hidden her distaste for the revolutionary manner Adesina has been driving the AfDB as it would wean Africa from relying on the West for solution to the continent’s problems through the dramatic increase in the share capita of the financial institution which will enable it to undertake so much intervention on the continent.

The United States vigorously opposed him during his election in 2015. Ever since, at the board level, the U.S. has done everything possible to derail Adesina and his Africa-focused development agenda.

According to the sources, America believes that Adesina is an unapologetic pan-Africanist, who, more than any other president, has moved the development agenda of the bank and Africa forward in a manner that no other in the bank’s 56-year history has done.

“On the board, he does not kowtow to the U.S. or its whims on critical issues relating to Africa’s development.

“In 2019, he successfully led the bank’s shareholder General Capital Increase from $93 billion to $208 billion. In the process, he became the first bank president to take the risk of championing a case for increasing capital for Africa’s development during a first term in office. It was a gambit that paid off in spite of initial strong American opposition.

“In 2018, Adesina championed and helped create the bank-sponsored Africa Investment Forum which in 2018 and 2019 attracted more than $80 billion in infrastructure investment interests into the continent. This was an unprecedented initiative. The U.S. representative was said to have considered the forum a departure from the bank’s original mandate.

Some also saw this as an attempt by Adesina to help wean African nations off a dependency on foreign aid. Some critics also suggested that he was attempting to burnish his credentials among African heads of state via the investment forum.

“Nigeria is the bank’s largest shareholder, followed by Egypt, Germany, and the United States. In 2019, an OpEd believed to have been crafted by the American Executive Director (Stephen Dowd), appeared in an American newspaper – The Hill. Among other things, it questioned why the U.S. (as the second largest non-regional shareholder and the fourth largest shareholder after Nigeria, Egypt, and Germany), did not have veto power at the African Development Bank.

“The U.S. Treasury Department has not taken kindly to the fact that Adesina has not publicly spoken against China’s increasing economic dominance in Africa. Instead, he has framed his economic argument as follows – ‘Do not be overly concerned about China’s presence in Africa economically. Be more concerned about America’s absence,” the sources said.

In 2019, the U.S. set up DFC – the Development Finance Corporation – with approximately $60 billion. With DFC and firm control of the World Bank, the idea was that the U.S., which has not hidden its anti-multilateral development bias, could easily checkmate China on the African continent.

In view of the above quote, the Association of Social Media Connoisseurs in Rivers State (ASOMEC) wish to draw the attention of all well meaning Rivers people to some facts about the actions of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi as Governor, in response to the consistent hypocritical lies and blackmails of his followers against every single effort by Gov. Nyesom Wike to protect the State against the spread of Covid-19.

3. They accused Gov. Wike of demolishing 2 hotels that violated the State Government's Covid-19 order without a court pronouncement. But they supported Amaechi when (as Governor) he demolished several buildings without court pronouncements and without paying compensation to the owners, some of which were said to be brought down because the owners were his political opponents. They include, but not limited to the following:
a. A building at No.17 Woji Road, New GRA. PH., owned by Chief Maxwell Amadi.
b. A building at No. 22 Onne Road, New GRA. PH. where Bluefontaine Company was (now at the Bic Building, Olu Obasanjo Road), owned by Mr. Sokipri Graham Douglas.
c. A building at No. 9 Bishop Dimiery Street, New GRA. PH., where Dimiery Hotel was, owned by Chief Ebenezer Isokariari.
d. A building at No. 177 Niger Street, PH., owned by Madam Mother George, a single mother who almost died out of the shock.
e. And the slicing of a building at No. 1 Onne Road, New GRA., PH. (by Olu Obasanjo Road) where Everyday Supermarket was, owned by Chief Emma Anyanwu.

4. They also criticized the lockdown of Port Harcourt and Obio / Akpor LGAs. by Gov. Wike led State Government to curb the spread of Covid-19, michevously accusing the Governor of punishing Rivers people who live in both LGAs; but they celebrated Amaechi when he locked down the Courts (as Governor) for his selfish interest.

5. As usual, they're now spreading lies that Gov. Wike threatened that the resumption of the lock down in Port Harcourt and Obio / Akpor LGAs will last for 21 days because residents of the both LGAs didn't appreciate the temporary lifting of the lockdown.

6. These people are clearly enemies of the State who are behind the influx of Covid-19 infected people from the Northern parts of the Country, against the State government's order on boarder closure; using their proximity to the President to perfect their plans. All in a bid to paint Wike as incapable without looking at the security and safety of the lives of Rivers people.

ASOMEC is equally marvelled, as every well meaning citizen of the State and Nation would be, at the level of hatred introduced by these handful of bitter politicians into our polity, that is why we will continue to insist that Rivers people should be vigilant and factual in their reasoning, more especially at this time because, those who are bent on destroying us are not resting on their oars hence they resort to manipulative and deceitful means to incite the good people of Rivers State against the administration of Gov. Wike.

You call yourself a Christian but you see black dey call am white. Rivers state is notorious for this kind of thing. I live here and I can tell you just did a bad job of the situation on ground. Most, if not all, of ameachis demolitions were backed by law. Some of those houses were built on natural water ways, govt land, right of ways, encroachment and so on. Why did you not mention his relatives house he pulled down at ada George because the road needed to be expanded.
Let's talk about compensation abit. Ameachi paid compensation for all the legal structures he pulled down and also paid for many expansion jobs that wike inherited like tran amadi, trans woji and gbalajam. Instead of talking about the legality or not of wikes action you are here trying to justify it with what amaechi did and what he did not do. Is ameachi the person that sent him to demolish pples buildings? Wike goofed big time abeg.
