People like you shouldn't be in the midst of the sane..
You don't even know the main body responsible for accreditation of the college of medicine it's MDCN and not NUC.. Mind you ogtavi we got the NUC accreditation years back that's a small thing you see.. Instead of apportioning blame to those who went to a particular school you've to ask questions
1.will there be any accreditation if there're no students around? Which is impossible without having students around..
2. How far have they grown.. Which I'll will answer..
We have full NUC accreditation, we have accreditation for faculty of basic medical sciences so we have just two to go and the stuff delaying is the infrastructures which we're trying to beg the government for just to help us out.
3. Ask your sorry self how much this people pay as school fee.. Close to 400k all is that not fine?
So next time don't just come here and spit all the futile stuff you've in that skul of yours
You could have made your point without the verbal assaults, that wasn't necessary at all..
I admit that I was ignorant about the body that gives final accreditation for medical and dental studies in Nigeria..i also admit that I made un-informed assertions about the major reasons why the college has been without accreditation...

Now,you said the school lacks necessary infrastructures to obtain accreditation yet the students pay 400k without being coerced into it and still do not receive commensurate knowledge and training...I wonder how I appear to be the insane person...

You people can go on begging the government to help you with infrastructures or just realise you have a life and find other means of achieving your goals.

Imagine you are in a bus to ekiti from Lagos, and your bus developed a fault at osun state. the only place you can get another "ekiti bus" is Lagos, so if you need another bus, you have to go back.

would you go back to Lagos all the way from osun state or look for means to make the bus move?
Well...I will find a bus going to Akure from Osun state...when I get to Akure,i can either spend the night there or look for another vehicle and continue my journey to Ekiti..

A distinct privilege/attribute of being human is the ability to make choices and reasonable decisions...everyone must exploit it to survive..

The beautiful ones might not be born yet but certainly the foolish ones have been born and they are in Ekiti....

1) Considering how people must have been admitted into that medical college in Eksu...what were you expecting??

2) If you guys could do better than Eksu, nothing stops you people from writing Jamb and applying in other medical colleges in the country...it is that easy...

3) Your governor is not your problem...but he can't be absolved of certain blames tending towards mismanagement and low funding of the school.

In all,I feel your pain, but you people seem not to know the value of time and the years you are wasting just because you want to become a doctor...

in other news, osun state University had this sort of accreditation problem and the governor (ogbeni aregbesola) flew them out to Ukraine to continue their studies....i don't know the arrangements he had with the students then but those students have graduated now...

abeg, you people should stop making noise,NUC is very strict on accreditation and would not dole out accreditations generously...we have too many quack doctors in the country..

Kayceenaz:
It is unfortunate that the most important factor was left out: Does he have a close rapport with his Maker? Is he born-again? Does God tell me (you have to learn to hear from Him) I'm indeed his missing rib? A man that loves and fears God would hardly cheat on you, keep you as a side-chick, or delude you. He already has an alarm system within in addition to his honour for you that is not limited to time or distance, which checkmates his excesses. So getting answers in the affirmative to these questions raised would cause the aforementioned "things to check" to naturally follow. The man of your dreams is out there; finding him is a function of letting the Almighty God, who sees the end from the beginning, to guide you.
Most reasonable comment on this thread...Its because of comments like this I still know the Truth is out there...
PropertiesRe: Nigerian Architects/Home-builders Lacking Creativity? by ogtavia(m): 12:51am On Sep 27, 2017
Frank Gehry said 'i dont know why people hire Architects and then tell them what to do'.
And dude is right..my grouse with this sort of comment or 'bias' is that people who make such comment have little exposure, you just randomly pick a subject and assume you are right.

I wont go into too much detail, but i can speak for myself and a few others, that Nigerian Architects are not in anyway lazy. It only seems so because we find ourselves in a rigid system that only picks at innovations like a pelican i.e. everyone is comfortable with the status quo. Besides our economy is not so robust to manage certain extremities / construction adventure.

Now to your question, those houses you posted there are modern architecture designs and contrary to your belief, not everyone in your idea of the western world live in houses like that. Houses like that are high end and elitist so to say.

Its just like saying you dont see Ferraris, Aston Martins, Lamborghinis, Bugattis, maseratis , Porsches and similar cars because our car dealers are lazy and refuse to learn new ideas or improve their trade, i mean assertions like that are borderline devoid of sound reasoning.

However, if you feel you can fund such projects with its attendant technicalities, specialist requirements and the need to source for scarce materials, there are a few Nigerian Architects who can change your opinions about them.

BTW, some of those houses you feel are 'basic' have estimates that will scare the taste out of your caviar buds.

EducationRe: See Assignment Given To A Primary 1 Pupil by ogtavia(m): 12:52pm On Sep 23, 2017
kidman96:
you should all be ashamed of yourselves. if that teachers spends 3 minutes on google he/she will get the answers for themselves. why give it to a child to give to its parents who may be bloody illiterates like that fool who posted on Facebook?

if you want to know why this country is so backwards all you have to do is listen to Nigerians speak and behave... if you listen to an american primary 1 child speak you will see the difference between their educational system and ours, you will know why they are far ahead of us, you will know why Nigeria is a country heading backwards instead of forward. children are meant to learn good virtue and goal getting as young as possible, there are no two ways to that. when you pay thousands to go listen to a motivational speaker speaks what do you thing they speak about? its 'goal getting' you bloody morons. they twist and turn it and make it sound like they are speaking on inspirations from above but all they talk about is setting goals and achieving them and here you have a teacher teaching a primary 1 child goal getting and good virtue which will develop their brains fast and hasting their maturity you fcking illiterates are here criticising the teacher... this is just a Nigerian syndrome. we are very good are criticising people doing their job, people who have been trained to do their job we tell them how to do it when we have no idea the basics of it. we criticise the police, the military e even criticise foot ball managers and coaches wgen we never stepped a foot onto a football pitch...
i remember my days in the secondary school, my teacher gave us an assignment and i told my calssmate that i will tell my mom to help me with it and teach me. my classmate reported me to my class teacher and my class teacher rebuked him, telling him that it was a good thing for my parents to teach me the assignment and help me with it. why cant the stupid mother complaining on facebook teach the child GOOD VIRTUE AND GOAL GETTING? is it ever too early in life to learn these things? no. it develops a child faster in their daily lives and makes them better and more mature than their mates. lets not forget that a teacher can give yoyu an assignment he knows will be very difficult because they want you to make mistakes so they can correct them and make you learn.

And you morons here on Nairanland are quick to criticise the teacher.
Dude in support of what you have said, I will like to agree that it's never too early to start molding a child's life though one might argue that primary 1 is too early cos the child's cognitive abilities are barely developed...my former neighbor's toddler son comes to mind here,i mean, kid is so playful and always makes it difficult to get him to do anything...now imagine giving that kid this assignment.

Frankly speaking,i can still remember the first day I stepped into primary 1,a few of the things my dad discussed with my teacher and I was 4 at that time...my point is, teaching a kid theories at that time might be impractical ,but along with some pictures, video clips, physical acts and some other form of visual aids, the child will definitely pick up some important lessons / behavioral patterns as his/her mind develops...

So,probably the Facebook poster had some good reasons to speak out and shouldn't be condemned thusly.

An analytical look at this accident shows clearly the woman shouldn't have probably died,at least not on the spot...

1) The area where the driver sits is clearly unaffected by the impact.
2)There is no sign she was thrown out of the vehicle.
3) There is also no sign to show how fast both both vehicles were moving when they ran into each other to warrant such fatality.

In summary, this accident looks highly questionable but the deed has been done, sadly.

God Rest Her Soul...Amen..

Nairaland GeneralRe: Let Truth Be Told, No Hausa Man Has Ruled Nigeria by ogtavia(m): 11:23am On Sep 18, 2017
The average Nigerian generalizeswhen it comes to tribal classification....most Nigerians assume every one from the North is Hausa...every one from the east is Igbo..infact some people are so ignorant of the South south...I heard someone say sometimes ago, that from Benin i.e Edo State...downwards,everyone is yoruba...

Having said that, its difficult to argue with your statistics or fault your stated premises...
But beyond statistics and analysis, a cursory look at Nigeria's economical allocations ,political appointments and iconic institutions will show that the North has had its more than fair share...and if you say Hausas are majority, then in extension, they have benefited greatly...now lets put sentiments aside...

Muamar Gaddafi opined that Nigeria is divided along ethnic and religious lines and sadly, he isn't far from the truth...like you rightly said,it's time we put aside all kinds of ethnic bigotry and discrimination. In the history of Nigeria's leadership we have had a few villains but sadly,no Victor or messiah...we must as a fact, by all means, encourage and enshrine objectivity and sound leadership, regardless of who he or she is or where he or she comes from..the colonial masters handed to us its "divide and rule" mentality and so far,it hasn't helped us and if care isnt taken,it will ruin us..

We must by all means forgive ourselves and work in unity to build this nation..i am Igbo but I grew up in a core yoruba society but currently I live up north...we must not let ourselves be confused by tribal differences,in fact,we must appreciate the beauty of each cultures and learn as much as its safe to learn..

A great problem we face also is religion..Behind tribe is this hydra headed monster called religion which will consume anyone who allows him or herself to be overtaken by its trappings...

God bless Nigeria.
