Hi. Thank you for the information. Please I am planning to stand as guarantor for my brother who is due capture tomorrow, but my national ID has expired. Will that be a challenge even if my passport is still valid?
BJanta:
The Newly enhanced e-Passport - Validity and Cost

- 32 pages valid 5 years is N26, 000
- 64 pages valid 5 years is N35, 000
- 64 pages valid 10 years is N70,000

NOTE: These prices are valid for only three states; Lagos, Abuja and Rivers and all ages will pay same price for ONLY these 3 locations.

For the rest of the 33 states, price is as follows;

- 32 pages valid for 5 years N17,800
- 64 pages valid for 5 years N23,000

NOTE: Children less than 16 and adults 60 and above pay 11,000 for 32 pages which is valid for 5 years.

Also, be aware you'll be paying online, not like before where you pay exorbitant amount on counter, based on who you know.

If you are applying in Nigeria, You don’t need any immigration officer to help you. Simply pay online, print your receipts and forms online and go with all your documents to their office.

Any documentary requirements that will be asked are specifically stated on the portal below.

https://immigration.gov.ng/standard-passport/

Then when you want to apply online, click on fresh passport, if you have never had a passport.

If you have had a passport click on renewal

I used Ikoyi, Lagos State, so I will be using Ikoyi as an example.

*Doc to take to Ikoyi, passport office*

He/she will collect all your document vet it and return it with another documents and ask you to photo it and fill (make sure you photocopy it before filling)

After filling retire it to the "ServiceCom" person . He or she will open a file for you and write places you have to go for signing and stamping.

After stamping in one place, ask the person "where is next" politely and follow through the process.

When you're done with capturing, before stepping out of the capturing hall, a man will collect your file and register it.

After that, take your file back to the "ServiceCom" personnel and your DONE.

Did you install the battery properly? There's a liquid ( electrolyte) you should pour into the battery case before connecting it. If you can upload pictures, it will help.

Thanks a lot sir. I initially thought it was an extra. I got a battery person to fill it. He said to wait till tomorrow to start it.Recoil option is working.

Thanks everyone for the help and feedback

Unbox and check the manual, recommended oil will likely be 20W-50.
Check under the gen around the engine block to get the engine number , that's what the customer care people should check.

Yes I did. It's 20W-50 that was recommended. I bought Total as I couldn't get Mobil around. Is it okay to continue with Mobil later on?

The engine start isn't working. I am not sure if I'm doing something wrong. I had to manual start before it came up. What could be the issue?

No, sku is for jumia. When the item arrives, there should be a serial number for it. Open it to see it.

Thanks sir. It has been delivered. I called but they said they'll get back to me.

I am yet to unbox it. So I don't know the recommended oil type to by. That's why I asked the above question? I need to set it up today

check your manual...oil change interval is specified there...its usually in run hours,
visco 2000 is the oil I prefer, its reddish in color. seahorse may be ok ,, don't know. just try and change the oil as per the change interval recommended by the manufacturer. 20w 50 is the grade of oil recommended by most gen manufacturers, using a thinner oil 0w 30, will result in shortages

Please is there any repercussion if I use a 20w 50 oil for a generator that recommended 10w 30?

When it arrives, call the customer service again to confirm the serial number.

Thanks sir. Do you mean the SKU number here? And is it something I should do before the dispatch person leaves?

Thanks

Generally not a good idea to buy generators online. If you must go ahead, call their customer care line so you can send them the serial number to confirm its genuine.

Just seeing this...

I also just ordered for the thermocool bobo 2800ES from jumia express. It's currently not in the thermocool store and several other vendors I checked with. I however called their customer care to confirm it's availability before processing the order.

I'm hoping I made the right call. I needed a generator urgently and it seemed like a good fit.

1.8kva is about 1.5kw, yes..it should power a 70watts, 0.55amps fridge. Once the gen is in good shape. The fridge and all motor based appliance draw upto x6 of their current rating at startup. For 10secs. So i believe your 1.5kw gen would power it easy peasy

Thanks a lot sir. Any brand recommendations please?

Good evening sirs

I am making a decision to buy a generator;

1. Will a 1.8kva power my fridge (Features in the picture) fridge. That's all I need to power for now
2. Can anyone recommend stores where I can get key start generators around Ejigbo?

Please I'll appreciate your advise on a durable, pocket friendly generator to buy. I see a lot of recommendations around thermocool and fireman but they seem to be pricey.

Normally 473 would be a good score but the OP was looking to see if he could get in through OINP (who only invite people with CRS in a given range)...his problem was that his CRS was too high for OINP and he can't say when the next FSW draw will be or what the CRS will be then.

Regarding future FSW draws, if I was in the 450 range, I would be looking for something that would put me in a region where I won't be competing with anyone (learning French) or I would explore PNP e.g. SINP or any other (New Brunswick Nigeria event has been posted here twice already).

Thanks for your response. It's clearer now.

Mmamaroon:

Even if this were possible, declaring one degree rather than two...doesn't that reduce your CRS by 32 points (112 vs 119 for Education and 25 vs 50 for Skill Transferability/Education)? Thereby leaving you with 441 which is below the OINP CRS range.

Have you had a look at SINP while you wait for FSW draws to begin again?

Another idea is if you actually have CAD1,500 that you were willing to give OINP, then why not use a tiny portion of that to begin French classes while you anticipate FSW instead of just waiting....you can achieve a lot in 6 months (with blood, sweat & determination) and possibly get yourself into the 480s (with 12 points if you get CLB 9 in Listening and Reading.....according to recent TEF takers, there are lots of past questions that you can revise and focus on for these 2 areas only). It is also possible to get CLB 7 across and the 50 mega points will be yours (CRS 540+ leaving everyone else in the dust!)

Also is birthday lurking around the corner......473 becomes 468/467.....if above 30.

Just a thought!!!

@Mmamaroon I am a bit confused here please. Does this mean that a 473 is not a good enough score to just wait till the next draw? What hope does those in the 450s have bayi? I understand that till ITA comes, it's great to look for possible ways to improve CRS as there seems to be a lot of uncertainty in the process...

Just wanted to clarify

Yes it did. Remember I said the person who did it the first time went through the back door without my knowledge... Sorry for the late response, I've been off NL.

Good evening everyone. I just created my profile but my score is showing as 408. However when I earlier calculated using the CRS calculator I was on 463.
I have 2 or more degrees, IELTS result was 9,7.5,7.5,7 LSRW, and have 3+ yrs of work experience... I see a disparity with my 'level of education' score from the CRS calculator and my profile. I am guessing that is the issue but I am not sure what to do to fix it.

Am I supposed to include Secondary education?

What could be the issue, please?

Good evening everyone.

Please am I supposed to list all my work experience while creating my profile or I can just use the ones that cover my selected NOCs and then include the earlier ones post-ITA. The reason is that all these other companies are no longer in existence.

I'll appreciate your responses. Thanks

Dear All.
Kindly assist me. My school made a mistake in my date of birth when sending in my transcript to Wes. Now my Wes report is out and bears that the wrong date of birth.

Please will an affidavit suffice. Or maybe a letter from the school stating that it was an error.

Please is there anyone who has or had a similar case. Please how did you solve this issue. Did you have any issue with IRRC?

Awaiting your responses

I had the same issue. I was advised that the school could send a mail acknowledging the error and sending the correct thing but in my case the person that did the processing the first time did it through the back door without my knowledge. I had to reapply. Once it was completed, the school sent the corrected transcript, and I followed up with a mail to WES. WES will make the correction once they've confirmed receipt.

The only issue is school getting the transcript ready. WES wouldn't take more than a week to correct.

I hope this helps. This is from my experience though.

• Collaborate with client’s finance unit to resolve operational issues and perform other post-reconciliation actions to modify process

The Correct answer is Nigeria.

If you choose UK, they would ask you to provide PCC- Police clearance cert for UK.........Or did you study your ACCA in UK? grin

1. No, you would not be required to pay any fees

2. No. This time it would take about a week as you are not reevaluating, its just a correction.

Big congrats to all who got their surprise ITA. By God's grace, I will also testify.

Please seniors, I need some clarification from anyone who has had a similar experience. My ECA came around August but there was a mistake in my DOB(School's mistake apparently). I had to order for a new transcript and it has taken forever to be ready. I am hopeful it goes through to WES this week.

My questions are:
1. Do I need to make another payment to WES since all I need is a correction of the last ECA.
2. Will WES take the same amount of time (I think about 35days) to deliver the new ECA

I am hoping to enter into the pool and take advantage of the dip in scores before my next birthday in Jan. I will appreciate anyone who has had a similar experience to advise. Thanks

Anyone with this experience please?

472 5000 invites. To all those on 469 don't lose hope. If your birthday is still three months away just be patient you'll get it .

My dilemma

Currently at 463, can get to 469 if I max out However birthday is in mid January. Remark came back as same... Was already thinking of doing TEF(which would take 6-7months to clinch).

Now I don't know if I should take the risk of rewriting IELTS hoping to Max out or just focus my energy on TEF.

On my way to Ikoyi for passport renewal. I hope to come back bearing good news. Wish me luck

Arrived at around past 8am and concluded around 10.30. Took a bit of time making all the necessary copies of required documents.

My only advise will be to do all the printing and photocopying before getting there, you'll be saving money. Only document you'll require photocopying is the form they'll ask you to fill.

Like everyone before me have said, the DIY route is seamless.

They asked me to come back next week. I might just give them an extra week to avoid any stories.

Thanks for the help everyone
