Kylekent59: More reason that American Nigga opted for her and replaced her for Omashola.
They are getting rid of dull and boring people in the house.
Cindy and Venita are going.
Venita that caused their downfall by stepping on the plate.
I would have love it if Ike replaced Mercy with Omashola.
Then we know between Tacha and Mercy who has more fans. NOT tOTALLY CORRECT... ESTHER IS LEAVING , THEN CINDY OR VENITA |

Abuharib: Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Tuesday approved the sum of N500,000 each as bursary to the 120 Oyo State indigenes in the Nigerian Law School.
Makinde, who received an audience of the Law School students in his office, charged them to persevere in the face of ongoing economic challenges.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary(CPS) to the governor, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, quoted the governor as saying that he was approving the sum of N60 million to cater for the 2019/2020 backlog of Oyo state indigenes in the Nigerian Law School.
He stated that his decision was aimed at assisting the students to achieve greatness and encourage them. It would be recalled that the last time Oyo State indigenes in the Law School received a bursary of N100, 000 was in 2012.
The governor told the student forum led by Mr. Olaniyi Ogunlade to ensure that they come back home to make contributions to the state after their studies.
He noted that the state has made an investment on the Law School students by the bursary award and would love them to make returns, urging them not to be carried away by the allure of Lagos and other cities.
Makinde stated that as soon as the ongoing rail project is completed, it would become easy to work in Lagos and live in Ibadan and vice versa.
He also charged the Law School students not to lose hope whatever the challenges they might be facing, adding that “life is not just for those who work hard but those who persevere.”
Ogunlade appreciated the governor, promising that he and his colleagues will come out with the best result in the history of Oyo State students in the Law School. He added that they would be proud to present the results to the governor.
He also made a promise that the beneficiaries of the bursary award would return to contribute their quota to the development of the state.

TV/Movies › Re: 7 Things People Hate About Big Brother Naija by OILOFGLADNESS: 1:00pm On Jul 31, 2019 |
Mrakeli: Big Brother Naija, a reality show in which contestants live in an isolated house and compete for a large cash prize at the end of the show by avoiding being evicted has definitely become one of the most-watched and followed in Africa.
However, it’s amazing that many viewers hardly miss a thing despite that the TV show runs for 24 hours for at least 3 months.
Millions of Naira are splashed from committed viewers and voters on their favourite housemate or housemates – including sponsors from different quarters, but despite the high recognition of the show in Africa, there are things the public has decried about the show.
Here are some of the things people hate about BB Naija:
1: Criteria for selection: Thousands of people churn out for auditioning into the Big Brother Naija house and only 24 are selected without clear criteria.
Cee C, One of the housemates in the Double Wahala edition, claimed she met Ebuka before auditions but didn’t give details of their conversation whether he helped her or not.
Ebuka, the host of the show and Biggie (The voice that represents, the show organizers) are been criticised yearly based on criteria for selection. Allegations have been raised that some of the housemates are selected based on their relationship with the organizers – although no proof but the organizers need to watch their back, someone might be planning an alternative to this show.
2: Vote: The integrity of the voting collation for housemates has been questioned both by the public and some of the ex-housemates.
Ebuka had explained that the organization responsible for collation, Deloitte, are experienced and known for “Integrity” but that doesn’t look convincing to former housemate Anto who complained bitterly about the Voting collation and some of the public are still skeptical about the “Integrity” of the vote revealed per week.
3: Questionable Twist: Suspense and Intriguing decision by Biggie is definitely one of the highlights of the show but it sometimes becomes questionable.
The season 3, Pepper Dem edition recently witnessed a Twist in which two new housemates were introduced after 7 evictions.
The housemates clearly look unhappy with the move and it has raised eyebrows from some quarters.
Were this two introduced to spice up the show or some big men suddenly wake up and decided to throw in their favourites at a time they feel its best?
Is there an external interest for some housemates or influenced decision to intentionally favour a housemate?
Some have raised the allegation that Tacha is the favoured candidate for this season.
4: The show is Big Brother Naija, however, the Nigeria tag has made a lot of people to expect something peculiar to the Nigerian culture to be displayed 24 hours in the house.
It’s a show that should depict what Nigerians love to do and is all about, but the show of nudity, foreign accents, smoking, uncultured attitudes definitely takes some people off.
5. Sex: This is one, if not the most controversial aspect of the show.
Religious leaders come out yearly to call for the ban of the show because of its illicit visuals.
6: 60 million for the winner of the show with loads of sponsorship ahead while Educational program, ICT, Water resources Projects and loads of things are poorly funded in the country, is also one of the reasons some of the public condemn Big Brother Naija.
Some believe such money and publicity should be showered on intellectual programs that will shapen the future of younger generation.
7: Big brother Naija is hosted in South Africa.
Is this a move to make it an African program or an indication that Nigeria is not a much suitable place for entertainment business ?.
Some have criticized this action.
https://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2019/07/31/7-things-people-hate-about-big-brother-naija/ THE OP IS ALREADY DEFORMED DUE TO LACK OF INFORMATION!!!! 6. THIS YEAR BBN IS IN NIGERIA 5. BBN NEVER ASK THE HOUSE MATES TO HAVE SEX, ITS A MATTER OF MATURITY ANS SELF CONTROL!!!!!! FOR SELECTION CRITERIA, YES!!! JUST LIKE IN EVERY OTHER FACET THEIRS IM AND CONNECTION, BUT NOT ALL U MENTIONED CECCEE< CEEECEE, LATER CLEARED THE AIR AND EXPLAINED HERSELF ( GO AND FIND OUT) FOR THE FUNDING,, ( COMPANY SPONSORS IT WILLINGLY AND THEIR PRODUCTS ARE ADVERTISED) I GOT TO KNOW ABOUT SAMVITA AND POTATTO PANDO VIA BBN, AND ALSO PEOPLE DELIGHT JOY IN VOTING SOMEONE THEY NTURALLY LIKE (XTER AND FAN RECUITMENT),, ITS THEIR MONEY< BIGGY NEVER FORCED ANYONE TO VOTE |

Crime › Re: Man Brutalizes Son With Hot Knife For Stealing Meat From The Pot (photos) by OILOFGLADNESS: 9:03am On Jun 27, 2019 |
Amagite: A Nigerian lady has taken to Twitter to narrate story of little boy who was brutalized and sent out of the house by his father.
According to the little boy, his dad scalded him with a hot knife for stealing meat from the pot.
He also sent him out of the house after his step-mum lied on him. Read the story below...
"I have been seeing this little boy for a couple of days, but I thought he was just one random kid that stays around. But he caught my attention yesterday when I saw him standing close to a flower in front of my house... He was acting as if he was hiding from someone...
I called him and asked what he was doing there. He said nothing. I told him to leave that place and go home, he said he couldn't. I asked why, and he told me his story... That his dad is married to another woman, she maltreats him, she doesn't give him food. That his dad
His dad always beat him. The scar on his face was as a result of a knife the dad put in the fire and placed on his jaw because he stole meat from the pot. He said he was hungry so I gave him food, water and then told him to go home and apologise to his dad.
I went out and came back around 11pm to see this little child sleeping in front of one closed shop, Outside. It was drizzling and everywhere was cold. I woke him up and asked why he hasn't gone home. In his words " my father pursue me from house because my auntie break
Television come talk say na me". (I'm trying to post the video but it's not loading i don't know why)
I couldn't leave him outside so I told him to sleep in my corridor. I gave him a wrapper to cover himself. I was even scared. So this morning I took him to one policeman
That lives in my area. He said they're going to arrest the dad. His mum is late. This little boy needs help He is currently at uwanse police station in Calabar."

BecaciaBarbie: IT TURNED OUT TO BE FRAUD!!!!!!
Saying I'm devastated is an understatement!!!!
You got an agent's number, called him requesting for an apartment.. You meet, he takes you to a nice affordable house....you like the house, he asked you to pay on time before someone else takes it up, you did and he said he won't give you the key yet until the completion of the house, because they are still working on it. He said, the keys would be given to you by a lawyer and the lawyer will give you another receipt in exchange for the one given to you by the agent and developer. So you are here waiting till that date given to you for collection after making full payment.
Has anything like this ever happened and turns out to be genuine or are they fraudsters?
YOU ARE FUNNY, ARE YOU LISTENING TO URSELF
IF YU ARE A GUY EEEEE, I WILL QUESTION ALOT OF THINGS
COMMON SENSE IS USABLE!!
They claimed all the houses have been taken, but another number was used to call the agent and he still mentioned the area of this particular house that they claim the apartments are all taken?
If they are fraudsters, what advise do you suggest in finding out their genuineness and what actions to be taken to recover the money before they flee. |
Education › Re: Help....i Have Lost Interest In School (pls Hear My Story) by OILOFGLADNESS: 12:59pm On Jun 21, 2019 |
BathingSoap: This might be a long read guys pls don't be angry with me. I have been a guest on Nland for a while but decided to create this monicker for this purpose.
So this all started when i entered the university in fact i'm now in my finals but as it is now i'm laying on my bed facing the ceiling and we have a test going on in class, i have missed about 3 tests since this semester started but i don't seem to feel alarmed by that, i'll probably have an extra year too the way i'm going but i can't just push myself to get up and read and to wash my uniform being a law student.
Now i feel this is partially because of the fact that i have come to believe school is not for me...i have never been a bright student right from primary school...when i entered the uni as a freshman i had the dreams every fresher had which is to come out with a first class and i worked very hard for it, went for night class every day without sleeping even for a minute, but any time grades came out i always come out at the bottom of the food chain.
I have tried hard to demystify the exact cause of my failure in academics but found no answers, could it be my hand writing, or i don't understand what i read or i'm not good in cramming textbook case laws and sections, or could it be because my brain is just not acclimatized to school and the rigours that come with it.
I have put in effort to handle all these supposed problems but none if them have come to fruition, even to the point that i bought a handwriting book to help improve my handwriting ...yeah i was that desperate
Reality dawned on me tho when my year 2 and 3 results were nothing to write home about...then i started losing interest...hardly go to class even though there is a test...i always say to myself stupidity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results so if i can read and study so much without being able to secure even a C in my courses then i'd rather not try.
Its funny tho that in my year 4 i made more than half a million rendering freelance services to people online...this also fueled my loss of interest in school, I'd rather be committed to something that pays me. I feel bad for mum tho, she put in all this effort to make me learned and give me a good future and she has already started saving for my law school but i know deep down that i am a nut case and can't ever compete with my peers academically.
I have tried my best in fact i'm crying right now, school has always made me feel like a lesser human, i always come out last...i really don't know what to do with life anymore ...i mean why is life so partial and unfair, why can't i be like those bright students...
I brought this here because i believe my Nairaland family will help me get through this terrible faze of my life.
I'll really appreciate if more people get to see this
Thank you WAOOO, VERY TOUCHING AND I HOPE YOU READ MY RESPONSE I AM RESPONDING BECAUSE YOU ARE REALLY GENUINE MY DEAR, YOU ARE NOT LESS HUMAN YOU ARE WONDERFULLY INTELLIGENT WHEN YOU FIND THE RIGHT DESTINY FOR YOU I AM VERY SURE THAT IT WAS YOUR MUM THAT PUSHED YOU TO READ LAW AND SURE SHE PAID TO GET YOU INTO SCHOOL , ALOT OF CHILDREN ARE LIKE THAT, THE FACTS: 1.. EVERYONE HAVE A DESTINY: SOMETIMES WHAT WE DESIRE OR WHAT OUR PARENTS DESIRES FOR US IS NEVER OUR DESTINY 2. WHEN YOU MISS YOUR DESTINY PATH, YOU WILL DEFINITELY STRUGGLE 3. YOUR COMING BEHIND IN CLASS WHILE IN ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY IS NOT BECAUSE YOU ARE DULL BUT BECAUSE YOU NEVER FOCUSED AS A CHILD, THERE WAS NO PROPER GUIDANCE ON THE BENEFIT OF EDUCATION, SO YOU GREW SEEING IT AS A FORMALITY 4. I HOPE TO SHARE THE STORY OF SOMEONE I know So MUCH KNOW IN HERE, LACK OF PROPER GUIDANCE MADE HIM TO HATE EDUCATION, WHILE IN PRIMARY SCHOOL, HE REPEATS CLASS, INFACT HE RUNS AWAY FROM CLASS, UNTIL HIS ELDER BROTHER WHO HAPPENED TO BE IN BOARDING SCHOOL VOWED TO COACH HIM,, TO CUT THE LONG STORY SHOT, TODAY HE MADE FIRST CLASS, TODAY HE BAGGED MASTERS FROM PREMIER COLLEGE LONDON ON SCHOLARSHIP, TODAY HE IS DOING HIS PHD OUTSIDE THE COUNTRY ON SCHOLARSHIP. 5. THOUGH IT IS SEEMS TOO LATE TO SHARPEN YOU, BUT LAW IS NOT FOR YOU , I AM SURE YOU WILL DO WELL IN PUBLIC STUDIES, 6.YOU HAVE TO PROMISE YOURSELF TO ATLEAST FINISH YOUR SCHOOL SINCE YOU ARE ALREADY IN YOUR FINAL YEAR FOR THE SAKE OF UR MUM 7. TO DO THIS YOU NEED GOOD FRIEND IN YOUR LEVEL, SERIOUS AND COMMITTED FRIEND, WALK UP TO ONE OF THEM AND SPEAK TO HIM OR HER ( I HAD ALOT OF PERSONS LIKE THIS WHEN I WAS IN SCHOOL ( ENGINEERING), I HELPED ALOT TO SCARE THROUGH, I THOUGHT ALOT HOW TO READ, I GAVE ALOT MY SUMMARY NOTE TO READ FOR EXAM, ALOT OF PERSONS ENGAGED ME IN DISCUSSION 1 WEEK TO EXAMS) I AM PROUD OF IT THOUGH AFTER SCHOOL MOST OF THEM SEEMS TO FORGET EASILY , EXCEPT 3 OF THEM WHO BEGGED TO MARRY ME, AND I REFUSE COS THEIR APPROCH MADE IT LOOK LIKE A PAY BACK GESTURE , THEY EVEN MADE ME BELIEVE THEY WANTED TO USE MARRIAGE AS A PAY BACK,.thats by d way 8.AFTER school, sure you wont use the certificate but please get it for your mum, so that she will be happy, Then find YOUR PATH, YOUR FREELANCING IS GOOD, YOU CAN TAKE IT TO NEXT LEVEL. 9.FINALLY AND TH MOST IMPORTANT,DONT FORGET THAT THE OWNER OF KNOWLEDGE LOVES YOU AND HE IS KNOCKING AT THE DOOR OF YOUR HEART, GIVE HIM CHANCE TODAY AND YOU WILL BE HAPPY EVER AFTER!!! GOD BLESS YOU |
