Nigeria is a country with two regions and six geo political zones... Three zones in the north and three zones in the south..

Lets assume southern region re asked to chose who will represent them at the National level, between these two great politicians Peter Obi and Bola Tinubu who has more regional support.. ?

Why not wait till after election to conclude that SS people have moved on?, or you want to create an Impression that they have moved on to feel good ?

As for that Bayelsa politics, you should know what really played out there during governorship election .....

Politics / 2023: Amaechi Gets Extra Security After Rumours Of Endorsement From Buhari by oilPUSSY(f): 7:40am On Mar 27, 2022

Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi now has extra security, a development linked to the race for Nigeria’s 2023 presidency.

Sources claim President Muhammadu Buhari is favourably disposed towards seeing the former Rivers Governor succeed him.

“The President will not raise an objection if Amaechi desires to contest. In the interim, the calculation is he will run alongside (Governor) El-Rufai.

“Also, I can confirm that security around the minister has been doubled. This could not have happened without Mr President’s clearance”, one said.

Apart from additional protective operatives keeping watch, Amaechi currently moves about in a recently purchased bulletproof Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV).

During an interview in January, the Nigerian leader declined to reveal his preferred choice for the country’s topmost job.

“I would not (mention) because he may be eliminated if I do. I better keep that a secret”, Buhari said.

Amaechi was Rivers State House of Assembly Speaker from 1999 to 2007 and Rivers Governor from 2007 till 2015.

Last weekend, supporters of the 56-year-old marched round major streets of Calabar, the capital of Cross River.

Bearing placards and other promotional items, they urged him to declare an intention to run in 2023, insisting he is qualified.

The loyalists, under the aegis of Unity House Foundation (UHF), are spread across the six South-South states.

“We are here to join voices, with our members and other youths across Nigeria, to call on the Minister to declare his aspiration to run for President.

“He has a track record, from his days as Speaker through Governor of Rivers, Chairman of Governors Forum, and Speakers.

“He has been able to revitalise the railway system in the country, the Maritime Academy in Oron, among others”, said UHF Chairman, Chima Onuoha.

Some All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains have signified their interest to vie for the presidential ticket.

They include ex-Lagos Governor Bola Tinubu, ex-Abia Governor Orji Kalu, Ebonyi Governor David Umahi. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Ekiti Governor are reportedly eyeing the seat but yet to declare.

Crime / Couple Arrested For Stealing A Baby In Osun For Mining by oilPUSSY(f): 8:26am On Mar 26, 2022
A housewife resident in Iwo, Osun State, Ganiyat Abbass, and her husband, Olatunbosun, have been arrested by the police for allegedly stealing a six-day-old baby.

The couple was paraded on Friday by the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Wale Olokode.

Also paraded were two suspected fraudsters, identified as Olaolu James and Favour Ige; as well as four suspected armed robbers – Agbebaku David, Olubunmi Adewale, Oderinde Oluwaseun, and Oluwaseun Adejuyigbe.

Giving details of the crimes committed by the suspects, the Osun police boss said the Abbass were reported to habe on Thursday, March 24 stolen a six-day-old baby girl from its lactating mother, Jemilat Musa.

Ganiyat was alleged to have tricked the mother, said to be having a medical challenge, with some wraps of cornmeal and N200 for bean cake.

“Shortly after the baby’s mother left to buy the bean cake, the suspect quickly put the baby inside a sack and ran away. The suspects were arrested in the early hours of Friday, March 25, 2022, in collaboration with the civilian JTF,” Olokode said.

Responding to questions from Saturday PUNCH, Ganiyat, who said she had yet to have her own baby, explained that she did not intend to steal the baby.

Speaking in Yoruba language, Ganiyat said, “I live in the same house with the mother of the baby. On Thursday, I bought cornmeal for her and she requested for bean pod. I gave her N200 to buy it. Immediately she left, the baby started crying and I tried all tricks to make her stop crying but the baby did not stop crying.

The police boss said all the suspects would be taken to court after an investigation into their various crimes had been concluded.

Politics / Anambra State Government To Begin Digital Revenue Collection by oilPUSSY(f): 8:17pm On Mar 25, 2022
The Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, on Friday, met with market and transport union leaders on the proposed digital revenue collection method to be introduced by his administration.

At the meeting attended by several market and transport union leaders, the governor explained that the move was geared towards protecting the residents, including the various union leaders from attendant harassment of the analogue mode of revenue collection.

Sharing the outcome of the meeting on his Facebook page on Friday, the governor noted that part of matters discussed bordered on welfare of traders, artisans and business owners in the state.

According to him, we further agreed with the market and transport union leaders to put an end to the “Monday sit at home” that has proven to be counter-productive.

He wrote, “I have just concluded the first in what would become a regular interaction with Market leaders and leaders of various transport unions in the State. Part of our interaction bordered on the welfare of our traders, artisans, and business owners.

“I reiterated the commitment of the State to phase out the old method of revenue collection. The new method we would deploy, will leverage the use of technology and ensure that a larger percentage of government revenues from this source fully comes into government coffers for effective use.

Politics / Oshiomhole, Emefiele's 2023 Presidential Campaign Posters Surface In Abuja by oilPUSSY(f): 5:21pm On Mar 25, 2022
Ahead of the 2023 Presidential election, the campaign posters of a former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole and the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, have surfaced in Abuja.

SaharaReporters gathered that the campaign posters which introduced Oshiomole as 'the man' for the 2023 presidency were sighted in Abuja on Friday.

It is not certain where the posters emanated from as Oshiomole had not publicly indicated an interest in contesting for the 2023 Presidential election.

In 2019, campaign posters of Oshiomhole, an ex-governor of Edo State, and Nasir El-Rufai, governor of Kaduna State, were sighted in Surulere, Lagos State for the 2023 elections.

Oshiomole, at the time, denied the presidential election posters showing him as a presidential aspirant, attributing it to the handiwork of mischief-makers.

Also on Friday, the campaign posters of the CBN governor, Emefiele, who has also not openly declared his intention to join the 2023 presidential race, have flooded Eagle Square in Abuja, the venue of the National Convention of the APC slated for Saturday, March 26.

SaharaReporters had exclusively learnt that a cabal led by the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami was strongly behind the push for Emefiele to succeed Buhari, ahead of other strong contenders in the party.

A top source in the party had told SaharaReporters that the “APC is torn between (Yemi) Osinbajo, (Bola) Tinubu and Emefiele’s people, each pushing their own candidate and agenda.”

Recently, Emefiele’s supporters, mainly youths, spotted white T-Shirts with the inscription MEFFY 2023 at an occasion held in Lagos to draft him into the race.

Convener of the group, Wale Fapohunda, had told the gathering that since Emefiele’s appointment as CBN Governor, he had spent his energy building a resilient financial system that can serve the development needs of the economy, ignoring the glaring fact that Nigeria’s economy had dipped to its worst state ever during Emefiele’s tenure as CBN governor.

Although Osinbajo has also not openly declared his interest in the 2023 presidential race, different groups have been soliciting Nigerians’ support for the vice-president.

In January, a group called the Concerned Citizens of Nigeria launched an online petition, urging Nigerians to persuade him to contest the presidency in 2023.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has been given a seven-day ultimatum to prosecute Bola Tinubu, an All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential aspirant.

Concerned Nigerians advocacy group, issued the ultimatum, in a letter addressed to the EFCC Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, and dated March 25, 2022.

The letter signed by Deji Adeyanju and sighted by DAILY POST urged the EFCC to probe the source of money conveyed in bullion vans to Tinubu’s home during the 2019 Presidential election.

Adeyanju warned that failure to comply within seven days, the group will approach the court to compel the EFCC to carry out its duties.

The activist wondered why the anti-graft agency was yet to probe Tinubu after receiving the body’s petition two years ago.

He accused the EFCC of selected justice with the arrest of former Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State, while Tinubu goes about freely.

Adeyanju urged EFCC to immediately initiate criminal charges against the former governor of Lagos State.

The full text of the letter reads…

Dear Sir,

RE: PETITION TO INVESTIGATE THE SOURCE OF MONEY CONVEYED IN BULLION VANS TO THE HOME OF ASIWAJU AHMED TINUBU ON THE EVE OF 2019 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION.

The above subject matter refers.

You will recall that on the 25th day of October 2019, we submitted a petition to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (E.F.C.C), requesting an investigation into the appearance of bullion vans in the compound of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the eve of the 2019 elections. The petition is herein attached.

However, we note that more than two years after the petition was received and acknowledged by the E.F.C.C, the commission is yet to prosecute Bola Ahmed Tinubu or in the alternative, issue us with a copy of its investigation report. Ironically, in the intervening period between our first letter and this reminder, the commission has investigated several high-profile suspects, mainly of the opposition stock, and even charged some to Court. Just recently, the Commission arrested the former governor of Anambra state, Mr. Willie Obiano, and leaked a video of him under the E.F.C.C’s custody.

We, therefore, wonder, why is the commission unwillingly to investigate and prosecute Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu? The only conclusion we can arrive at is that the commission engages in selective prosecution of suspects, contrary to the clear dictates of the law. It is important to remind the commission that section 1 of the Money Laundering (prohibition) Act states that no person or body corporate shall, except in a transaction through a financial institution, make or accept a cash payment of a sum exceeding N5,000,000 (in the case of an individual) or N10,000,000 (in the case of a body corporate).

You may note that the present government rode on to power on an “anti-corruption mantra”. It is ironic to note that the commission is unwilling to investigate and prosecute one of the government’s major backers, contrary to the president’s stance on total anti-corruption fight, irrespective of whose ox is gored.

Sequel to the foregoing, we, hereby, demand that the commission initiates criminal charges against Mr. Ahmed Bola Tinubu or send us its investigation report on our earlier petition (in the event that the commission finds him innocent), within seven working days from the receipt of this letter.

Please take note that if our demand is not complied with within seven working days from the receipt of this letter, we shall approach a court of competent jurisdiction, seeking an order compelling the commission to perform its statutory duties
