Introduction

The gospel of the kingdom is simple and clear and so the adherent of the christian faith should endeavour to propagate it with simplicity and clarity. There is so much ambiguity in the presentation of the gospel these days that subscribers to the christian faith are daily wallowing in confussion.

This ambiguity in the presentation of the gospel originates from the pulpit. The pulpit as the custodian of the tenets of the christian faith is suppose to lead in the correct interpretation and implementation of the law of God.

However, the reverse is the case today. The pulpit has become a tool in the hands of its handlers to; settle scores, build personal empire, raise strong cult followership, acquire fame and popularity, destroy perceived enemies, and show case riches and opulence. Very often it is used as a weapon of vendetta.

People serve God based on their understanding. And this forms the reasons why there is variations in the life and character of the adherent of the christian faith. The main reason being the fact that why some are for Paul, others have teamed up with Apollos. The reality today is there are too many camps belonging to differnt Pauls and Apollos.

Suffice to say that the pulpit has succeeded in giving so too many interpretations to the law of God, thereby leading to the creation of ambiguities that the Church is experiencing today.

The Beneficiaries
One would have expected that the owner of the might and power behind the pulpit and the pew should be the over all beneficiary of their activities but No, that is not going to be. The beneficiaries are the custodians of the pulpit; the so called Levites, Father in the Lord, Bishops, GOs, men and women who hold more title than the man in whose name they have been priviledged. And for this they have more recognition than the one who sent them!

I read with keen interest a report credited to the Acting Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Mrs Ibim Semenitari on TODAY.ng, that the commission spent #2.4trn on various projects in the last 15 years.

The commission established in year 2000 by the then Obasanjo government, with the aim of facilitating the rapid, even and sustainable development of the Niger Delta into an economically prosperous, socially stable, ecologically regenerative and politically peaceful region as its core mandate, was to serve as a vehicle to address the gap in infrastructures within the oil producing states in Nigreria.

A quick summary of the report showed that 8,557 infrastructural development projects were carried out within the period under review, out of which 3,454 worth #441Bn were completed.

The projects covered areas such as roads, bridges, jetty and shore protection, canalisation and reclaimation, electricity and power, water and buildings, food control and equipping and furnishing. 250 mega projects worth #500 - #24Bn were awarded, while 2,257 projects valued at #1.2trn still ongoing,

The report also indicated that 292 projects worth #81Bn were either stalled or abandoned. A total of 49 projects at the cost of #1.9Bn faced termination during the period. While other government agencies took over 29 projects valued at #16Bn.

If this report represents the true picture of the activities of the commission within the period I think we should appreciate the effort of the federal government at making life better for the people of Niger Delta. This amount represents an average of #160Bn annually. This is more than the budgets of 27 states in the 2016 appropriation year, and in particular more than the budget of Ekiti (#67Bn) & Taraba (#68, cool

, and or Niger (#74.7Bn) & Kogi (#75Bn) combined.

This is huge asides other incentives like the 13% derivation to the oil producing states and the amnesty program for the about 10,000 ex-militants from the region to mention few.

This piece is not to praise the federal government nor to demarket the quest of the Niger Delta region for more attention but a clarion call to the people of the region and Nigerian in general.

There are questions begging for answers if this report is anything to be accepted. The commission should be bold enough to tell it all by releasing the lists of what have been done, where, and by who.

The people on their part should be bold enough to come forward and confirm what has been done within their domain. There must be proof that what is on ground justified what has been spent and that money were recovered from abandoned projects and the culprits prosecuted.

Earlier today my attention was drawn to a report on The Herald, captioned Christians Are Not Fools: CAN President Warns Buhari. The report was credited to Kelechi Uchena.

We are not fools truly but we're to be doves in the midst of ravenous wolves. In my opinion, doves are gentle, calm and peaceful creatures who cannot hurt a fly either with their muscles or wings.

Someone should tell the recently elected CAN president to settle down first. It is good to talk tough in the days before a war; It is a strategy , and a good one for that matter. It helps to instill confidence in your followers, thereby ensuring their loyalty to the course of war. But it is better to put your house in order before going to war.

I do not think that CAN was formed for the sole purpose of throwing tantrums at government at every opportunity. Politicising every action and inaction of the president should not be the strength of a strategic association like the Christian Association of Nigeria.

What CAN represents is neither mundane nor petty. CAN should be the rallying point of the Church in Nigeria. The hope of the hopeless. The pride of all the christians in Nigeria.

Nowhere in my text did I say not live with. Some of those wives may be old. The man has to cater for them and their children. BUT NOT HAVE SEX WITH THEM. And they are no more his wives.

You are still talking about the law when we've moved on to GRACE. Which part of the bible said he can no longer have sex with his wives after been born again? You are trying to introduce doctrine that is not in the bible.

Don't form the habit of always approaching the bible from the angle of the law. We're not God. Judah, Rahab, David were all ifrom the lineage of Jesus, yet God accepted them after they repented and He never winged any rope of the law around their necks. None of them qualified to be in the lineage of Jesus, but for GRAcE!

Think about this, the man had paid dowry on those wives, he's bound by the same law you've quated to remain with them for life.

The word of God is simple and clear. Having sex with the wives doesn't reduce or increase his chance of making or losing eternity.

Did you notice the part that says God hates putting away? For God to say that, there must be something at stake. Because clearly, in Matthew 5 vs 22, But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgement...

Even hating your fellow human isn't allowed. But you should also notice that God didn't say I hate the person. He simply hates putting away.

About having multiple wifes, hear it from the horses' mouth, in Matthew 19 vs 9, And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, COMMITTED ADULTERY: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

Bro, in my own thinking, I would say you succeeded in adding more burden to a man whom Jesus has died for. I think you did a good job by crucifying him under the law.

But what about grace? You see, the question the OP asked is a very sensitive one which requires simple wisdom from the scriptures to handle.

1. Jesus paid for all sinners (including the polygamous) with his blood.
2. Although the sin has been forgiven some will still have to live with certain consequences of their sin i.e abortion that resulted to damaged of womb, polygamy, child out of wedlock etc.

To answer the OP:
The man has to remain with is many wives even though he's now a christian. There is no place in the bible that says a man with many wives should not serve God. The bible only forbade such from leading the Church.
