I later found out myself that the car is way too expensive. 216k mileage 03 highlander not a limited edition o... for $3650 plus $950 for shipping, he got extra $100 on the shipping alone, i dont care about the inland transport to the port he took $250 for that. so.....

I fire the car on Lagos Ibadan this past weekend, and i enjoyed it but still, it is still very expensive. And as i said earlier, i dont have any issues with him whatsoever and we remain distant friends we have always been but i cant do car business with him again. Never.

I was able to get a firm in New Jersey for the pick up from auction to port.

I am just curious, how did you know he charged you too much? I got a 2002 Highlander for almost same price as you've stated just that mine is 140k miles and it's clean title

Hmm... I guess spotless mean accident free as well? That price seem quite low to get a real clean title <150k miles isn't it? Unless the is not making any profit even at that it still seem low.

They're definitely better than the Highlander and Rav4, though. Pathfinder and QX are built on the same platform as the Xterra, while the Highlander is...an elevated Camry.

Just curious why do you say Pathfinder is better than Highlander? Am expecting a tokunbo 02 Highlander and want to be ready for the best/worse as the case may be. ;-)

My car has been throwing code P0138 (Oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 2 high voltage) about some weeks now.
I've changed the oxygen Sensor but I'm still getting the code.

I do have 02 sensor I changed on my Yaris 1NZ when I thought the sensor was the issue, still available at a little fee if it will serve you

I guess you meant doesn't cool well, I experienced this with my Yaris and my guess was that it's because I do not have the ambient sensor for the AC installed (I just could not find the connect it after I bought the sensor)....I resolved to using an external thermostat. Now it cools better in the afternoon.

parasitic Drain. Search for a very goo auto electrician to solve it. Start with checking Alternator by disconnecting it to see if the drain persists.

I am experiencing[1] this faint battery light as well, I thought it was my battery after changing battery I still had the light, I then changed the alternator and that was it. From my reading it's Indeed a leak as Gazzuz hinted and the leak occurs when some of the diode has developed fault, some may be significant leak while some may not depending on the extent of damage.

1: recently I did some mods on my AC (it wasn't cooling well), which also made the electrician work on my alternator, unfortunately he broke my alternator now I am back to the square one and will need to change alternator in near future.

How do i know my charge controller is performing optimally?
I have 12 panels 300watt each, connected 3P4S .
Charge controller is 60A MPPT
3.5kva 4 batteries (200ah each)
But the thing is i hardly get into the absorption stage unless its aided by PHCN power which is not stable.
During peak period i register about 120v for the Panel PV array and a current of 8.5amps going to this battery for charging.
My question is if the current is adequate considering the fact that my CC is rated 60amps

I am not a guru but i think you should get more amps than 8.5 with that configuration. Perhaps this has to do with the kind of cables you used and distance between the panels and controller.

Ah! I used FedEx based on the experience shared by duwdu who used FedEx as well and got delivery of the same inverter (just that mine is 3kva). Now I am worried!!!

TBH, I'm not a guru either but hopefully the following will address why I chose the GK stable over the MK, as well as the high voltage thingy...

First of all, are you referring to the 48V model of the MK, or that you don't want to do 48V, or that it's not offered at 48V? I'll be surprised if any 48V unit is limited to 1500W, so please check again, you may just be good to go.

I don't want the 48v, my setup is 24v for now. It is supposed to replace the current 24v 1.5kva inverter that I currently use. The 3kva MK series is limited to 1500W irrespective of whether it's 24/48v

Having said that, my primary reason for going the GK route is the several advantages of deploying up to 450/500V DC when properly managed. Among these, are:
1. The charge controller portion should wake up earlier and retire later - gives more harvest/production time;
2. Much smaller gauge wire (so less set up cost) can be deployed over longer distances between the array and the inverter as the effect of the % drop in voltage will be negligible since voltages are quite high to begin with, giving better amps/yield;
3. Of course up to 5 KW of array at high voltage; this can be further optimized with up to 20 panels (250W @ 37 VoC each in a 10S2P config, for example) on just one inverter as I look to grow with it if its durability holds well.

Then there are other things mainly found in the GK series, especially the 5 KW model:
1. Support for Batteryless operation. (I consider this a major factor) ;
2. Detachable display/control panel - for wired remote operation up to 30m(?) away, IIRC;
3. Direct supply to load, even when battery is present; that way one bypasses the inefficiency associated with having to pass power through the battery first to the load even when sufficient solar/grid power is available to directly supply the load; (I don't think this is unique to the GK.)
4. BMS interface is already built in for Lithium batteries;
5. Bluetooth is built in;
6. WiFi interface is built in, although the WiFi Card itself is optional component, which I bought;
6. Latest technology & design from the Voltronic/MPP Solar stable, etc.

The main disadvantage I see with the 5 KW GK is that units cannot be parralled. They have to be used separately.

I don't think so, he got a 5kva which does not have the 1500w limit on the 3kva version.

Also, as with the PCM60x that I currently deploy (which I believe is essentially the CC built into these PIPs) — just as with most reputable CC's — the PIP is designed to wake up once the volt coming in from the PV array exceeds 48 VDC by a couple of volts, for a 48 V system. However, as already pointed out by pranil, it won't do MPPT until the array voltage hits 120-450.

Now I am wondering maybe I should get the MK series instead of the GK as it seem the GK high VOC seem not to be of great advantage? But my concern is that the 3kva MK series only does 1500W solar array while GK can allow me up to 4000W.

You are right, I saw it somewhere as well but it's stated up to 450 in the manual. I don't think I will have to get to 300VDC anyway so not a major concern for me.

Am sorry am not a solar guru, can you educate me on why you eventually went for the GK instead of the MK?

Also take care when selecting fuses /breaker etc . They must be rated 250 or 600 V DC based on your final selection . may of them in market like midnight solar are rated only upto 150 V DC
