What else is family planning? is a 2year spacing not family planning enough? I don't want to train kids with pension. I'm still young and this is the best time to have kids so as to focus on my life, my family and career.

I wish to see her to really know the reason for the lies. What exactly chased her from my home?

Sincerely, I am so happy mature minds are here. Reasonably thought out comments. Bless you guys a bunch.

Yes, she's never coming back. NEVER. and really, they should look for me.

you will be surprised that she will has no concrete reason. I had an help who left my house, locked my door and gave my keys to the gate man after 10days of staying with us for 'boredom'. Luckily, i dont leave my child with her...my child then 2 year-old attends a school, i drop her off in the morning and pick her on my way back in the evening. Interestingly, i was 6 months pregnant with my 2nd child then too.

Rukemi291:
I work with a very wonderful organization and as my job demands, one of my very crucial academic meetings is always held outside Nigeria.

I am also married with a 1yr 11 month old son and pregnant (few weeks gone).... My husband works and lives in a town that is 4hours away from Lagos where I work.

The need for a house help arose when morning sickness started. So I told a lot of people in the office that I needed a girl. Luckily one of the staff told me she could help me send down her half sister who is 15years old and her mum can no longer carter for because they are poor. She said she's also with the girl's elder sister.

I spoke with the girl's mum, she was so excited and prayed for me and all she requested was for her girl to go to school. I promised her that the girl would go to school. The girl was brought to me on 19th October.

So I went in search of a school and I was lucky she was admited into a Lagos State Government School that is close by. The principal said that it was late actually but she doesn't want the girl to be idle at home, so she could resume immediately but her academic session would be from January. I paid all d fees and got her two sets of uniform. She started school early this month.

My son has also started school, so she drops him in school and picks him up when she's back too.

Fast forward to this time, d official assignment that would take me away from the country was close. I couldn't risk leaving her in Lagos with my super active toddler for almost two weeks that I would be away. I had to take them to my husband.

Early on Thursday, 19th, I received a call that my girl had left home with her belongings and she left a note that she was angry with me that I did not let her go to school and that if not that she loved my son ehn.....

My husband's job is a shift- based job and he was on night duty to be back home by 8am the morning she left.

A neighbour called my husband who was at work that the girl took my son to them very early in d morning that we sent her on an errand and that they should borrow her N500. They took my son from her and told her to wait for my husband to return. They said they did not know when she left.

The girl scattered the whole house took all the pieces of meat in d pot, the juice packs at home. I Knew she wouldn't get money, my husband isn't as careless.

My husband spoke with her mum that didn't sound surprised and all she said was that she would scold her when the girl comes home. Yes, d girl is home now.

I was devastated and destabilized for two days. I never ever maltreated this girl. My conscience is as clear as a gallon of distilled water.

Well, my son is now with my mum.

My mum also spoke with her mum that the girl said neighbors were calling her omo-odo (house girl). She left the 6th day she got there. We stay in a compound of 5 flats where everyone minds his business. So who called her a house-girl.

I think the mistake we made was that we got her a phone and even loaded the phone. My husband said he noticed she was always calling someone and he once heard her telling the receiver the address of where she was.

I really wish to visit her mum when I return and I hope to see her and ask her questions.

I really appreciate my family for staying with me throughout this period and I'm glad I'm not hypertensive maybe I'd have lost this pregnancy. And I thank God most that she didn't hurt my son because I never hurt her.

Well, it's all good. Life goes on.

I am not trying to discourage people from getting house helps....

My dear, accept my hearty congratulations on the safety of your child. Thank God that whatever Devil entered her didnt let her cause him any harm but let her drop him with your neighbour and that she actually left on a day that your husband was on night duty to return in the morning.

Please next time u need to travel ehn, carry your baby go give your mother or your MIL. Then, u could have travelled with your baby na, only that you also will need to go with your mum, or sister and of course you will fot their bill. another thing that has worked in my home is that my husband plans his leave to when i have a course so we can just convert the trip to a family vacation. It is expensive but beter safe than sorry.

It is well with us as we strive to strike a balance betwen family and work.

I wished this case had been handled differently by all the parties involved...I wailed loudly reading this post...it's d saddest narration I've read in recent times.
I wished the lady & d man had presented early enough at d onset of labour.
if only d nurses on duty at egbeda had been more emphatic...if only there was a doc on duty
if only the man had taken his wife to a nearby private hospital as soon as he was told that there was no doc and that they couldn't handle her case...maybe he had anticipated d bill & didn't have it
had there been an ambulance...had there been sufficient bed spaces and specialist attention at igando.
if only I had some super powers to help the poor baby and the mother.
ah! eyi poju!
How did we get here as a nation? no regards for human life except it benefits our pockets?
I can't stop weeping for this seemingly preventable losses!
she could easily have been my sister, my sil, my friend, my colleague...

You caused the pain upon yourself..

Rules in buying a new phone

1:... check our the specs and price
2:.... Wait for several months(read unbiased reviews, hands on videos, first hand experiences etc)
3:..... never spend so much on an unknown brand

For God's sake, why would you spend so much on a product that isn't even known in its home country? The only place where Tecno is sold is Nigeria simply because there aren't regulations here. I can bet you, these Tecno phones don't work abroad. Thats the fact

No Sir, I did not cause any pain for myself. Am I tecnno that made d the phone with inferior parts? Gives only 1 year warranty? Declares a model obsolete? Push another model into the market only few weeks after d previous was released?

1. I checked out the specs of the Phantom A3 and it met my requirements. The price was also ok for me. The 3 questions i asked in d paragraph above made d phone redundant. And d inferior parts made it spoil quickly!

2. Interestingly, i first read of techno here on NL and it had good reviews. With benefit of hindsight now, i think most of the reviewers were students or younger people. I didnt have the extra months to wait. My BB was stolen a few months b4 then, i had been managing one little nokia and i needed to get an android device. Techno with its 'good' review caught my fancy. I decided to go for the flagship A3 then cos it was still within d budget constraint i set.

3. I think i already provided an answer to this in 2. above. Besides, for me it is not so much about the cost but that d phone performance did not match the expected performance based on d cost.

Btw, although i cannot categorically say techno works everywhere abroad but i know it works in d USA. A colleague of mine had one of the Phantoms, i think A when we were on a course in d USA in October/November 2013 and it worked perfectly. U know what? My nokia did not work. Another reason y i went for A3 in January 2014.

@ Ollah1, do not blame me for buying a techno phone. Blame techno for not giving me value for my money. And i that is d summary of my posts.

@ TechRez, much as I think some of the reasons you flagged above are true, I personally will never buy a Techno phone again.
my reasons?
1. they only gave a 1 year warranty on the phantom A3 I bought last year. who does that? give a 1 year warranty on a smart phone that costs 50k?

2. just about 2 months after I bought it, they launched d phantom Z making my A3 look like poo....big fit nothing if u like. when I bought the phone in January 2014, it was the highest brand they had. why release another soo soon?

3. I had enough issues with the phone. first it started charging slowly like 4 months after I bought it. i had to start using a desktop charger. as if that was not enough, d screen broke. that was when someone suggested the Carl care centre. they replaced d screen for 15k and discovered that the slow charging was cos of a bad battery..new phone, fa? but wait for this...they couldn't get a new battery in phc.

when I was in lagos last Dec 2014, I went to the Carl center and I got a battery for 1k. but u know what? I was told that phantom A3 was no longer being made.

4. why would they stop making a brand because they started making an higher brand? thus making its parts scarce and repairs near impossible?

5. fast forward to july 2015. I just opened the phone to receive a call and lo and behold the screen was cracked. I have not able to use it nor repair it since then.

6. I have seen people recieve calls on their cracked Samsung phones. my verdict, techno uses inferior materials.

7. in all d techno phantom A3 cost me 66K and a lot of pains!!!!!
it lays injured (cracked screen ) and maybe dead in my bedside locker. no hope of repairs, no parts anywhere!

I will not recommend techno devices to friends, family nor enemy.
anyone that buys it is does that at their own risk

Travel / Tragedy Averted As Two Aircrafts Collide At Lagos Airport On Eid-el-fitr Day by Ojugunrege(f): 8:29am On Jul 18, 2015
Tragedy was averted on Friday at the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 in Lagos following a ground collision of two aircraft belonging to FirstNation Airways.
A similar incident had occurred at the airport on July 6, following the collision of two aircraft belonging to Emirates and Hak Air.
Friday’s incident which happened at about midday involved two Airbus 330 conveying not fewer than 250 passengers.
The two aircraft were partially damaged as a result of the collision.
A source at the airport said one of the aircraft was taxiing from the runway to the terminal, for passengers to disembark while the other aircraft was preparing to take off to Port-Harcourt from the same terminal.
The source said the pilot may have been misdirected by the marshals who led the pilot to taxi to the wrong part of the apron.
According to the source, the Port Harcourt bound aircraft was parked at Gate 4 while the arriving aircraft was bound for Gate 3 of the terminal.
However, the source claimed that the marshals misdirected the arriving aircraft to the same Gate as the parked aircraft which led to the two wings brushing each other.
Following the incident, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority immediately grounded both aircraft while passengers were asked to disembark by the airline.
It was gathered that the refund of tickets were made to passengers on the Port-Harcourt bound aircraft by the airline.
The NCAA also confirmed the incident in a statement issued by its General Manager, Public Affairs, Fan Ndubuoke.
Mr. Ndubuoke said no passenger was hurt and that the incident had been referred to the Accident Investigation Bureau for further investigation.
He also reiterated NCAA’s commitment to safety and security of passengers. (NAN)

she can even call d lady na....sebi she knows d number. ask that she backs off. if she doesnt stop, tell her u'll come and report her in d office. most offices dont take that kind of crap lightly.
