If CAN thinks that christians should not vote for a muslim, then they should not vote for a muslim . Whther muslim muslim or christian christian.

CAN and Abioye are becoming the christian version of MURIC.

At the end, vote for policies, not for religion. If you as a christian is scared of islamisation, maybe you should read your scripture which says...The gates of hell shall never prevail against it.

Good afternoon. Even if everyone hates me because I am a christian, I will not hate them because they are muslims or any other religion. And it does not mean I am voting for Tinubu either. Nor have I ever voted for PDP or APC or its precusors. We need realistic polices, not religion.
Don't put words in CAN's mouth
CAN said don't vote for Muslim Muslim ticket. Is that not simple English for anyone with a clear and unbiased mind
I wonder why those who call themselves Christians derive so much joy in dragging CAN and Christian bodies in the mud just to look enlightened and politically correct, something you will never see a Muslim do.
How are CAN and Abioye like MURIC. MURIC specifically said they will not be voting a Christian not even Christian Muslim but Christian and that is after 8 years of a Muslim president.
There is no policy greater than representation and inclusion. Even if the person you are angling to vote for is planning to do all you ask, if he is coming to divide the country and create exclusion, you can bet there will be no atmosphere to achieve your so-called good policies.
Nobody is talking about hate or love. We are talking here about right and wrong.
You sound too unprincipled for my liking. Trying to stand on either side of the fence and you end up looking awkward. Have you ever thought for a moment about the Christians in the North who have died on account of their religion? I don't know your tribe but I can boldly tell you no tribe has been spared where religious crisis is concerned in the North, not even the Yoruba Muslims!!

Good

Since the new line is that we should condemm Mulsim-muslim ticket of APC

1.Let Bishop Abioye also condemn Peter Obi for choosing a Muslim vice presidential candidate...since it shows he is working hand in glove with a muslim.

2.Let him also condemm Okowa for agreeing to be Atiku's VP , since he is serving a muslim

3.Let him also condemm Bishop Idahosa for agreeing to be Kwankwaso's VP, since he is serving a muslim too.

4.Let him condemm all their supporters who are christians, for supporting a Muslim candidate
.

Because that is the logical conclusion from condemning APC's muslim-muslim candidate.

Before anyone starts...I ain't voting anyone from APC or PDP because they have left this country in a mess, and that includes Obi and Kwankwaso. Especially Tinubu because he was not that great as a governor of Lagos, and he still has issues...including Alpha beta and so forth.

And no, I am no APC supporter. I support candidates who will

1.Remove subsidies on fuel and petrol completely. Not partially

2.Remove subsidies on power....

3.Actually fight corruption.

4.Improve or have a plan to improve our tax to gdp ratio.
What's the similarity between a Muslim Muslim and Muslim Christian ticket?
And I used to think you're wise.
No wonder you want to vote for a candidate that does not exist

Dear VP Atiku, some of us are old enough to still remember how OBJ rubbished you.

The man you ran to for succour is now the person you are attempting to rubbish.

You went for balance and ran with Ben Obi, where did that take you?

When you finally left AC to go back to PDP, many of us heaved a sign of relief as it was clear that you were never a progressive.

In 2011, ACN choose Nuhu Ribadu a Muslim and Fola Adeola (former MD of GTBank) another Muslim, but there was NO UPROAR. Why? Because they weren't seen as threats. It was clear that they didn't have the required structure to win.

Now that Asiwaju has seen a partner that he can work with, someone with a true progressive mindset in the person of Kashim Shettima, I personally and many others like me will look beyond religion and vote for them on the basis of their antecedents and planned programmes for rescuing our shared future.

As for you, enjoy your balancing with Dr. Okowa. Let's earnestly watch and see how far you will go this time.
But what is Tinubu's obsession with Muslim Muslim ticket

Sowore is not a full blooded yoruba man so therefore yorubas have no business voting for him especially when he categorically denounced the yorubas.

The rest of the non sense you wrote are not my business. It shows how sad and bitter you are. The true fact is that you are a f**king imposter and I caught you.

It as now become a trend for you imposters to come on nairaland pretending to be yorubas just to create an atmosphere of division among yorubas.

The unification of yorubas had been sealed before the creation of Nigeria. That is why we don't see religion. Regardless of your faith and believes, yoruba comes first and no alien, refugees and bastard can unseal it.

To think of it, who in his/her right mind will say anything negative about awolowo. The greatest yoruba in the history of yorubaland/nigeria.

Awolowo was the greatest, no region as every produce someone as productive and intelligent when it comes to leadership. It is you bastard, children of hate and jealously that will find something negative to say about awolowo. Imagine we continued with regional government, yorubaland will be the first developed region in Africa without a doubt.

I understand that you are bitter and suffering, you are fully stuck in extreme poverty but tinubu and yoruba people are not responsible for your problems.

Don't worry tinubu will fix Nigeria and help your life so that you won't wake up everyday of your life in bitterness. By the time tinubu is done with nigeria, you will wake up every day, go on your knees, look up to God and thank tinubu and yoruba people for making your life meaningful.

Let me remind you again, regardless whatsoever you think, tinubu will be the president and real yorubas will vote for him.
It is obvious now that your poor education is the reason you're jumping around like a stray dog to defend Tinubu. How and where did I insult Awolowo.
And a bumbling idiot like you is deciding who is full-blooded Yoruba and who is not. The fact that is undeniable is that you're supporting Tinubu because of what you'll get.
If not because poverty has shut down the little brain you have, will you carry Tinubu on your head and be hawking him like gala? If I were poor or miserable like you, I will also hang on to Tinubu's coattails in the dull hope that he's coming to fix my life for me.
Even in Lagos, Tinubu's party has never secured 80% votes. They just lost Osun that some people believe it's his original state of origin. Do you now mean that all the yorubas who voted out APC in Osun and have never voted APC in Lagos are bastards? You're just a foolish soul.
Tell your Tinubu to go and fix Lagos first. There's no public water supply in Lagos to start with. I believe that's something basic. Open defecation by you agberos and Omo ita is also very high.
Let him get decent jobs for folks like you who go about foaming at the mouth with a bottle of paraga forming Yoruba nationalist.
If not, abeg getat!!

It has come down to semantics right?

"insist"
"must emerge"

lol

CAN cannot even insist in the first place, CAN cannot use the word must.

Cus at the end of the day it is a democratic process.

The point of argument was whether CAN can even ask for a southern Christian in the first place.

So you can see them asking for a Southern Christian to succeed Buhari.

So would you then accept now that they were discriminating against the Northern Christians?

Before those were your own words. grin

The earlier you accepted that CAN are displaying double standards in their handling of APC and PDP the better for you.
No. You're twisting things. I already pasted the exact words of Pastor Ayokunle. Like I told you, of Tinubu had picked a northern Christian VP, CAN will have no problem with him. Though it's not ideal, but the balance is still there. It's about choosing between balance and extremism. Presently, the Tinubu ticket is the most extreme of all the pairings. Kwankwaso is a northern Muslim with southern Christian Vice. If CAN was going the way you're painting it, then surely CAN will have to support Peter Obi because his combination suits that requirement. But have you seen CAN insist on a southern Christian? No, because there are tickets of Muslims-Christians which have balance.

How is CAN displaying double standard? Your headline was in march. PDP had not yet done their primaries then so it's obvious they were not saying that to APC alone, but to all the parties. The Muslim Muslim ticket became an issue after Tinubu emerged. CAN did not condemn Tinubu or Atiku's emergence. They only asked that they pick a Christian VP which Tinubu obviously refused.

Regardless of what you say about tinubu, it won't stop people from voting for him. You bastard did the same during awolowo and mko abiola. Nobody can buy the presidency, the way you talk clearly shows you are not yoruba but an imposter. You have the blood of hateful and jealous tribe from the east. Tinubu is the only capable and experienced politician to transform Nigeria from the mess it is right now. If you like call him whatsoever, he doesn't care and we the supporters don't care.
In 1999 when we had a full blooded yoruba man called Olu Falae and a bastard yoruba obasanjo who's father is ibo and mother was yoruba. The whole of yorubaland voted for Olu falae in fact obasanjo lost in his own polling unit. What are you talking about, come on yoruba people are pure nationalist? We always back and support our own. Only the bastard like you always f**k up
In 2019, Yele Sowore a Yoruba ran for the presidency. Where was your nationalism to support him. Or is he not Yoruba. The only thing you support is your stomach. That's why you can call OBJ the Balogun of Owu kingdom, one of the towns that originally came from Oduduwa a bastard, but bend over backwards to lick the behind of Tinubu.
To show ur silly disposition, the SW voted for OBJ in 2003. Does that mean the SW were bastards in 2003?
You're first a political jobber before being a Yoruba. You're just hiding behind being Yoruba to hide your predilection for stomach things under being a nationalist.
What exactly do you know about Awolowo that you just invoke his name?
Awolowo was anti-north. You jobbers followed the North for eight years and opened up Yorubaland to fulani invaders just so your god can become president.
Shame!!

See some news items here.

Dated March 2022.

And this mugu is telling me CAN cannot tell parties what to do about Presidential candidates.

CAN was always insisting on a Southern Christian until PDP did their primaries and Atiku won.

Then all of a sudden CAN shut up and stopped talking.

i don't know what Atiku gave to them.

Instead they started chasing Tinubu upandan.

You should always learn to read beyond the headline

Below is a screenshot of what CAN President said.

He said since a Northern Muslim had spent eight years, and it is obvious the next president should come from the south, then it should be a southern Christian. He didn't say a southern Christian must emerge. Also note that the main problem they have with tinubu is the Muslim-Muslim ticket not necessarily him a southern Muslim emerging.
If we are to go with your logic as I said, then they should be fighting Tinubu as well as Atiku. But their issue is with the exclusionary ticket of Muslim-Muslim

Stop spewing gibberish out of your facial orifice.

Again i tell you,; your logic stinks!

Some years back, the Kaduna chapter of CAN was crying about not having a Christian governor.
Even around April this year before the primaries kicked off in earnest, CAN sent a warning to political parties to zine their tickets to the South; they only stopped talking when PDP brought Atiku.

So Mr CAN advocate; who told you that CAN cannot insist on a rotation between Muslims and Christians?

Let the Muslims produce President for 30 years na and then come and tell me CAN cannot tell parties whom to pick as Presidential candidate!

If CAN cannot tell parties whom to choose as their Presidential candidate then CAN also cannot tell parties whom to pick as their running mates.

If CAN do not see anything wrong with a Muslim taking over from another Muslim in a Nation where their Christians are averagely 52 percent of the population then they should also not see nothing wrong with a Muslim Muslim ticket.

The difference between me and you is that I want CAN to condemn both APC and PDP but you and people like yourself want CAN to condemn only APC and pamper PDP.

Your logic stinks, your hypocrisy sucks!

Show evidence of CAN asking for a Christian governor in Kaduna

Show evidence of CAN insisting on power rotation to the south

You don't need to tell lies to defend your position

What I am telling you is that CAN is a national body representing ALL NIGERIAN CHRISTIANS not only Southern Christians. There focus is on full and balanced representation of Christians in the FG especially and not emergence of a southern Christian.
What you are asking of CAN is essentially to discriminate against Christians in the North. For the sake of this argument, let us assume CAN asks that only a Southern Christian should emerge from the two main parties and they oblige CAN that request. After eight years, will CAN ask them now to produce a Northern Christian presidential candidate, or will they ask the parties to produce a Northern Muslim? Answer the riddle yourself and see how shortsighted it sounds.
What you're inadvertently asking CAN to become is a sectional or regional body since it is virtually impossible for CAN to ask for a Southern Christian President now, and then a Northern Christian President or Vice after 8 years. Hope you get it now

I'm not a lawyer but this kind of suit is rather frivolous as far as I'm concerned.
Asiwaju already has a B.sc from a university in America and it has been proven beyond reasonable doubt that he actually schooled in the Us,but I will allow the law to take its course.
I watch with trepidation the amount of noise and propaganda that has been unleashed on the person of Asiwaju, but for those of us who have made up our mind to vote him we will never be cowed or bullied, our resolve to vote Asiwaju is unshakable.
For those who believe that the Muslim-muslim ticket is a political Haram,we understand their fears but we show them the stastics to back his decision.
The Yoruba/Southern Muslim is a minority in Southern Nigeria, not in South West Nigeria, but in Southern Nigeria.
Our claim is irrefutable,by the time Gov-elect Adeleke of Osun state is sworn in,the whole of Southern Nigerian will not have a single Muslim Governor.
The Yoruba Muslim is exactly like his Christian counterpart in Northern Nigeria, very vocal but the facts on ground show they are minority.
It will be very fool hardy for anyone to think pairing 2 ethnic and religious minority will ever win an election in Nigeria.
I totally believe Asiwaju has the Intellectual acumen to run this country, I'm sure of this because of the massive improvement he initiated while he held away as Governor of Lagos.
God bless Nigeria.

Is Asiwaju representing Southern Muslims or Southern ticket?

Statement from Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre

This morning, President Biden tested positive for COVID-19. He is fully vaccinated and twice boosted and experiencing very mild symptoms. He has begun taking Paxlovid. Consistent with CDC guidelines, he will isolate at the White House and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time.

He has been in contact with members of the White House staff by phone this morning, and will participate in his planned meetings at the White House this morning via phone and Zoom from the residence.

Consistent with White House protocol for positive COVID cases, which goes above and beyond CDC guidance, he will continue to work in isolation until he tests negative. Once he tests negative, he will return to in-person work.
Out of an abundance of transparency, the White House will provide a daily update on the President's status as he continues to carry out the full duties of the office while in isolation.
Per standard protocol for any positive case at the White House, the White House Medical Unit will inform all close contacts of the President during the day today, including any Members of Congress and any members of the press who interacted with the President during yesterday's travel.

The President's last previous test for COVID was Tuesday, when he had a negative test result.

No one is bankrolling CAN, stop being disrespectful.
The Atiku/PDP ticket is by far a safer option because besides the balancing (with a Christian VP) it is a given that a southern Christian will take over from Turaki if they win next year.

It's no surprise therefore that Christians prefer it to the prospect of 24 straight years of Muslim leadership plus a complete shut-out from the 2023 ticket that the APC presents.
...and that's without even talking about the gross injustice the APC-led FG has meted out to Christians since coming on board.

Don't mind the guy. I know him very well. He is an APC urchin trying to form balanced. He was supporting Osinbajo and since Osinbajo lost, he has been looking for a strawman to hold responsible for supporting the APC candidate despite he himself knowing that the ticket is unjust. In his mind now, he has seen a convenient strawman in CAN.

Political parties choose Presidential candidates who have political value and can get the votes for them.

Same way they choose running mates who have political value and can win the votes for them.

Na the same politics!

If CAN can insist on ticket balancing, then CAN can also insist on Rotational balance.

If CAN must insist that Tinubu must pick a Christian VP, then CAN must also insist that PDP must pick a Christian Presidential candidate after 8 years of Buhari.

That is the proper way to fight for the right of Christians.

You cannot play the ostrich here, i won't let you.

CAN is a hypocritical bunch of humans.

What do you think? CAN should also insist that all the 12 northern states repeal sharia. CAN should also insist on security in northern Christian populated areas affected by banditry.
You are only trying to sound balanced but you end up sounding like a fanatic
CAN cannot choose for political parties who they will present as candidates. But CAN can insist on fair representation in the candidacy.
If CAN should insist on a Christian southerner emerging, it will automatically mean CAN are saying that only Christian southerners are capable of emerging president from the south, and Muslim northerner from the north. In other words, what CAN will be saying if they go with your tantrum is that Northern Christians have no business with being president or Vice, while southern Muslims also have no business with being President or Vice.
That is definitely against the constitution of Nigeria. What CAN is saying is the correct position. If a Northern Muslim emerges as presidential candidate, a Southern Christian should be Vice and so on.
At the point you want CAN to be deciding for political parties where their candidates should come from, you have made CAN a constitution of itself. This position is simply dangerous and untenable.
So, I think you should look in the mirror if you are looking for the hypocrite.
