MEND's position in reply to MNN is posted on this llnk:

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-743963.0.html

I did a summary then.

I think both sides raised very good points that must form the basis of any SNC, including separation, which we must have on the table too.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Will Never Break Up - GEJ by okadaman2: 9:38pm On Sep 13, 2011
I posted this on another thread. I think it's relevant here.

I'll post a full message from MNN and MEND later -after UEFA. "MEND" replied and disagreed with some parts but generally they are both seeking the same thing -deep and fundamental restructuring that will be binding on all regions willing to be a part of New Nigeria.

I agree with most of MNN and "MEND" 's point. I'm pacing MEND in quote because it's hard to know which MEND is real or fake these days. But I like the MEND that replied MNN.

The Nigerian constitution is a forgery - MNN

The Constitution started with "We the people hereby agree"

some transcribed points from the video below:

But We did not agree to give The President and 36 Governors immunity

We the people couldn't have agreed to give the key of the treasury to the executive branch

Nigeria has become a criminal enterprise where few people are using a forged document to rule 150Million people

We cannot be united by fraud and forgery

Nigerians have been calling for a Sovereign national conference but those who have secured themselves in Abuja have refused to listen

Who created the 36 states? Few Military elites!

Who created the 68 item exclusive lists in the Constitution that prevented a state like Lagos from generating her own electricity, do her own rail and manage her own sea port?

Less that 1% of the country's population has 90% of the assets of the country and you cannot break in, you are locked out!

Somebody will sit in Abuja and say he's (IG) Inspector General of Police for a state like Imo, how is that sensible? how will he know how things work locally in Mushin?

We cannot be bound by force for all times!

but how come many of them are mixed. .did the portugese mix with the black pple there?
how come other colonial masters didnt mixed with other African countries
Many Angolans are mixed because Portuguese slave owners are a bunch of r.a.p.i.st racists. They did the same thing in Brazil. They did it everywhere they went.

Of course all slave owners loved to ra.p/e black women, but the portuguese probably enjoyed it more than others. They were more successful with it in their colonies e.g Brazil

They also encouraged race mixing in their former colonies. It's not all bad, the products are beautiful to look at  grin

But the effects on the psyche of those who are seen as coming from the less desirable race "black dark-skinned people" is like a double slap.

It created white, mixed(mulatto), black. it didn't  solve skin color discrimination, it just created a new layer to add to it.

BTW, most of the slaves shipped to Brazil were from present day Nigeria, Angola and other smaller countries along that coast. They are your people mixed with white.

However, hope you've checked other numerous threads where I've been very critical of GEJ and his "talk and no action" governance. I've said it severally that GEJ (and by extension PDP) is not doing a good job at governance at the moment and have even suggested he seeks advices from well-meaning Nigerians rather than his present "we-know-who-they-are" posture. I've also said that I strongly believe that Buhari is as clueless as GEJ when it comes to governance and I gave conditions that would have made me go the Buhari way in spite of his religious bigotry (read below).
If BUHARI had contested while Gen. Idiagbon was alive, may be I would have voted him because I know like what happened in the eighties, BUHARI would have heavily depended on Idiagbon for direction in his governance

I even summarized somewhere that a choice between BUHARI & GEJ is like choosing between the Devil and the deep blue sea: Either way, you're a goner!!!

If you put all these together, then you will know where I stand.

The insults are devices for waking people like you up. I will not take them back until you apologize for spreading unsubstantiated claims as Truth.

After advising you, I went through the trouble and I wasted my time to post information showing that your Claims were wrong, still you ignored.

By the way, I saw the nonsense you posted on the other PDP thread calling me and other people on this thread Boko-Haramist.  How am I a Boko Haramist ?

It is painful to see you waste your time defending the oppressors of your own people.

It is very simple. if you give a job to a worker and he continues to fail at it, you remove him from the job and try another worker, you don't reward failures with promotion. Even if the replacement is a former failure, at least you've sent a clear message that you will continue to punish failures and won't tolerate incompetence.

People like you should stand with us against the oppression, lies and manipulations of PDP owners, but NO you will rather help them feel more powerful and convince other STOOOOOOPID young Nigerians to believe their lies. If you are not getting paid for this, then you are really STOOOOOPID.

My argument is based on utterances by Buhari's CPC and its chieftains, not on any untruths by PDP.
Same kind of utterances that were made by ACN cheiftains and youth groups across the country before that election?

Utterances like "defend your vote" were made by all well meaning Nigerians during that election period, youth groups said it, church and mosque people said it, Okija Shriners said it. People even made songs and jingles out of it.

I gave you a verbatim quote from Edo State Governor Adams Ishiomhole who made the same statement in a very strong, very harsh way. Why are you not holding him responsible?

Okada_man said the same stuff, even my grandmama said it and stood proudly at her polling booth to act it out.

People were killed in Delta, Bayelsa, Benin, Akwa Ibom, Ibadan. Violence was present in every region during that election. Not new in Naija politics. More people probably died in the south sef over election violence(non-religious) in the last 12 years than in the North.

It is really sad to see young people like you (I'm assuming you are less than 40) fall for and continue to parrot propaganda and lies toward a party that had less power, less money, zero control over security forces, little to no access to NTA but still tried their best to oppose a party that had it all, spent it all and bribed everyone bribe-able.

Now you are holding up the words of PDP as Truth?  shocked

PDP? The same party that has minimanaged Nigeria for 12 years?  the same party filled with majority of those who ruled Nigeria for the last 30 years. IBB, OBJ, Atiku, Ciroma, Yar'adua, Danjuma. Some of them still contested under PDP in the last election.

It's really sad how this generation has allowed Tribal and religious sentiments to cloud their reason.

Yes, Buhari was a dictator when he ruled Nigeria, just like all of them.

The same PDP you are supporting is a dictatorial party hiding under democracy to continue the impoverishment of our People while enriching those within their circles.

The same PDP is filled with former Dictators and killers like IBB, Danjuma, Aliyu Mohammed and OBJ.  All coup plotters and cold-blooded murderers.

I expect a young Nigerian like you with access to Internet and information to use that power to push for a robust opposition against that party of thieves, but you are here posting their unsubstantiated propaganda as truth. I'm ashamed of you. embarassed

You dissapoint me dude. I was hoping this generation will be better, but evidently we will do worse than our fathers generation with people like you running things.

As your NL handle suggests, if you really desire for Nigeria to discuss fundamental changes that can lead to reorganization of our country, you are definitely backing the wrong people.

PDP will never split naija. How many businessmen have you seen destroy their own shop? Huh?

PDP will NEVER reorganize this foundation. They benefit from the chaos and misrule and you have bought their lies.

See, If you are not related to a PDP powerbroker,, not getting PDP contracts or working and getting paid by looters, then you must be a very STOOOOOPID IDIOOOOT for supporting that evil murderous party For free.

I look around me and I see nothing tangible that PDP has achieved in 13 years, I'll rather bite off my finger than support my oppressors. I don't care if they are from my compound or worship my God.

Buhari Condemns Attack on UN Building

Former Head of State and Presidential Candidate of Congress for Progressive Change, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari has condemned Friday bomb attacks at the United Nations building in Abuja in which many lives were lost and several others wounded. He described the horrendous attack as heart
rending devastation and a great challenge to the emotion. Gen Buhari sends condolences to the United Nations, the mourning people of Nigeria and the grief-stricken families who have lost beloved ones in this unfortunate incident: "It is my prayer that the Almighty will comfort all the bereaved and bring speedy recovery to all the wounded" he said.

Gen Buhari however frowned at the lazy official response that has accompanied serial challenges to security in the country.
"There has yet to be any coordinated response by the security forces in the country. It is unprofessional and incompetent for our security agencies to surrender to this omnibus Boko Haram as the only clue to every security challenge."
He said such portends serious danger to the country: "What that means that even foreign interest can enter Nigeria today and wreck havoc and issue a statement in the name of Boko Haram and we will bury our dead and life continues".
He called on those in charge of the country to seriously address all the social problems confronting the country and show focused leadership which is lacking at the moment.

Nigeria: Those Who Burnt Churches Not Our Supporters - Buhari

Kaduna — Former head of state and presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) General Muhammadu Buhari yesterday condemned the riots that engulfed northern Nigeria as unfortunate and inhuman, stressing that those who burnt churches were not his party supporters. Buhari, who described the dastardly acts as unpatriotic, spoke duing a BBC Hausa interview monitored by LEADERSHIP in Kaduna. "Within the last 24 hours there have been reports of uprisings in different parts of Nigeria. It has led to the burning of Christians' places of worship.

This is condemnable and unpatriotic act."

Stating that those who perpetrated the act are not his supporters, he further said: "What happened is unfortunate and those that did this are not my supporters and our party is not supporting this dastardly act. I am using this opportunity to distance myself from this ungodly act and our party as well. What happened has no relationship with religion, ethnic or other affiliations."
Are you going to apologize for wasting my time?

A government that cannot protect it's peoples vital bio-data information is now arresting and jailing them for trying to protect themselves by avoiding giving out the information?

Nigeria is turning back into a dictatorial police state. A dysfunctional democracy where hapless citizens are at the mercy of incompetent but brutal leaders and their selected representatives.

Even in America with their Big brother patriots act and war against terrorism, They still allow you the option of buying pre-paid mobile phone service with privacy, without submitting your vital details or registering.

From wiki
A concern of police and security agencies worldwide is that prepaid mobile services allow the user to be anonymous and therefore facilitate criminal, or terrorist activities. Prepaid phone users can be anonymous for two reasons:

the prepaid SIM card can be sold in a shop like any other goods. There is no need to register them at point of sale, unlike postpaid phones who have to credit check the user before allowing them to purchase and enter into a contract.
Because prepaid services can often be topped up using cash and vouchers, there is no way to trace the payment and hence determine the identity of a prepaid phone user from payment records.

It has been suggested that a solution to this problem is to register the users of prepaid mobile phones. Such legislation faces heavy opposition from providers and consumers of prepaid service, as many consumers who desire privacy for legitimate purposes or simply by personal preference find anonymity to be the primary selling point of prepaid phones. According to a 2005 study[6] 9 of 24 surveyed OECD countries require prepaid mobile users to register.

These countries are Australia, France, Germany, Hungary, Japan, Norway, Slovak Republic, South Africa and Switzerland.

The freedom and privacy allowed by prepaid cell phones might help circumvent government oppression and censorship, allowing improved reporting and coordination of dissidents under oppressive regimes.

While there is no doubt that criminals and terrorists use telecommunication services, to date there has been no public study that has clearly examined the possible link of non-registration of prepaid mobile phones to greater risk of criminal or terrorist activities. However, mandatory registration may be a breach of a prepaid user privacy, and currently the question various jurisdictions have decided on or are examining is whether this privacy breach is an appropriate action versus the threat that anonymous usage of prepaid services pose.
Apart from the OECD report reference on wikipedia, this column contains some arguments for and against pre-paid registration
http://m.blogs.computerworld.com/16200/pre_paid_burners_aid_terrorists_so_must_be_banned?

My argument is simply this: In a disorganized country like Nigeria, only a LUNATIC should confidently trust the Government with protecting their privacy.

Whatever the benefits of pre-paid registration is, this government cannot take advantage of it or even protect the privacy of regular citizens to justify it's implementation.

An administration that cannot keep a good record of it's own budget implementation? Gimme a break  grin

Nigeria: Buhari Condemns Post-Poll Violence, As Mosque Attacked
19 April 2011

Email|Print|Comment(3)
Share:

The losing candidate in Nigeria's presidential election, Muhammed Buhari, has condemned post-poll violence, as rioting spread to some 14 states Tuesday.

Buhari called for calm in northern Nigeria in an interview with the BBC, in his first public statement since the contested final election results were released on Monday.

They gave 57 per cent of the votes to incumbent Goodluck Jonathan, who was mainly supported in his native, Christian-majority south.

Since then, violence has intensified in the north.

Christian youths burnt a mosque in Kano early Tuesday. Muslims responded by destroying shops.

Earlier a prison was raided and its inmates set free.

The number of deaths has not been released for the moment. But an estimated 15,000 people have already been displaced since the beginning of the troubles at the weekend. Curfews are in place in various places in Kano city and Kaduna state.

The Presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), retired Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, has condemned yesterday’s blast in Abuja and called for a decisive action against terrorism.

A suspected suicide bomber detonated a bomb at the headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force, Abuja, in which two persons died and 73 vehicles damaged.

Buhari said in Lagos through his spokesman, Mr Yinka Odumakin, that “it is unfortunate that Nigeria is fast becoming a terrorist state.”

Buhari noted that “the episodic recurrences of bomb blasts in Nigeria are beginning to instil fears in Nigerians, which is very unhealthy for the nation.

“There must be sustained and coordinated efforts to get to the root of these dastardly acts,’’ he said.
