Umar Tata, a former governorship candidate in the Katsina, has written an open letter to the Nigeria’s secret police saying that Northern clerics are spreading rumors of an alleged poisoning of President Muhammadu Buhari. Read his unedited open letter below; AN OPEN LETTER TO THE DG DIRECTORATE OF STATE SECURITY SERVICES (DSS) Sir I wish to draw your attention to the new dangerous twist to the unfortunate sickness of President Muhammadu Buhari being falsely perpetrated in our mosques which has the tendency to create serious anarchy in Katsina state. Today Friday 24 February, 2016 at the Izala mosque, popularly called General Tsiga mosque on Katsina road in Funtua local government, the Imam, during the jumuat sermon, apologized to the congregation for coming late. This, according to him, was because he was just out of a state meeting of the Izala sect in Katsina where they were accordingly informed and directed to inform all Muslims that the sickness of President Buhari was as a result of poisoning. According to the Imam, malam Nasir Abdurrahman, Buhari was poisoned by those close to him because he has amassed over N70 trillion and they want to steal it. To steal it they must kill him and that was why they poisoned him. This to him could be explained better by the sudden stoppage of Kano-Katsina dual carriage way which work stopped since the president became sick. Malam Nasir continued by asserting that the same way Tafawa Balewa was killed was the same way Murtala Mohammed was killed and is the same way they want to kill President Buhari. Enough is enough according to him as we are not going to accept that. This is the summary of the message he was directed to convey. I don’t know if it was the same in all other Izala mosques across the state, but even if it was not I am scared of what will happen if we allow this lie and hate speech in our mosques to go unchecked. Funtua is a hotbed of radicalism and has always been the boiling center of religious crises in the state. In 2011 after the presidential elections that then GMB lost to Jonathan, innocent Christian lives were lost and properties worth hundred of millions were lost. All because of this kind of misleading sermons by our half literate imams. I had to confront General Buhari on this and sought for his participation in my effort at compensating the Christians who suffered loses as a result of that post election uprising. He did not come but we still went ahead to compensate them in our own small way. Now we are about to tread the same path all over again! If Buhari dies today, may Allah do what is right for him and us, what do you think will happen? Innocent lives will be made sacrificial lambs of this loss more so if we consider the fact that, Prof Osinbajo, a Christian being the VP is the constitutional beneficiary of whatever outcome from this debacle. Are we going to allow this to happen. I think people of conscience owe it a duty not to be silent in the face of this madness. Malam Nasir should tell us who poisoned President Buhari so that the law should take its natural course if he fails to do that he should be arrested and prosecuted for incitement. How can somebody who has amassed N70 trillion want to borrow N17 trillion for which the National Assembly is yet to grant him that approval? Who is the fool here? They have lied to us in 2015 telling us that Buhari is superior to God and now that he is discovered to be human they want to make him God all over again! No way! They have never shown us love, care or concern under this regime for all the hardship wrought on the common man and they now want to lead innocent souls to death and destruction. We will not allow that. We have been misled far too much for far too long and it is time to expose these people for what they are, cheats and liers that think we are dumb. If you do the right thing to nip this in the bud fine; if you do not, let it be on record that I have reported to you my fears. Thank you very much! Abuja – Malam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special
Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on
Media and Publicity, has narrated how he
missed the President’s phone call on Saturday. The presidential aide, who made this known on his Facebook page on Saturday, said the Buhari originated a call to him from his London abode after he (Buhari) had spoken with some members of the presidential media team. He, however, revealed that he received a text message from the President after missing the call. According to him, the President had earlier spoken with the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed and his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina. He said: “A day for the Presidential Media Team. “We are thankful to the President, Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) for sparing the time to make calls to the Media team. “The Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed and the Special Adviser, Femi Adesina responded to the calls, exchanged greetings and thanked him for calling. “I had an SMS from him thereafter because I missed my call! I humbly join them to say thank you, Baba Buhari!! “We are together with other Nigerians of all faiths, in praying for his safe return.’’ Femi Adesina had earlier published his phone conversation with the president, on his Facebook page, on Saturday. Adesina said: “And President Buhari called at 2:43p.m “At exactly 2.43 p.m today, Saturday, February 25, 2017, my phone rang. Who was at the other end? Tunde Sabiu, personal assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari. “Hold on for Mr President,” Tunde said. And in a matter of seconds, the very familiar voice came: “Femi, how are you?” (He calls me Adesina most times, but today, he opted for Femi) I screamed :”Mr President, I have missed you. How are you sir?” He first laughed. That familiar laugh. Then he said: “I am still resting. Thank you for holding out against mischief makers.” I said it was my duty, the very least I could do, adding how happy I was to speak with him. “How is your family?” I said we were fine, and he asked me to extend his greetings to them. “I hope to call you again, ” Mr President said, and I bade him farewell, adding: “Best wishes, sir.” “It was a defining moment for me. For more than a month, I had always spoken with aides who are with the President in London. “Not once did I ask them to take the phone to him, deliberately so, because I didn’t need to speak with him to validate the fact that he was alive. And since he was on vacation, he had a right to his privacy. “Of his own volition, President Buhari spoke with me. It made my day. Even if he hadn’t done so, he would have remained my President, my leader, and my man. Any day.’’ President Buhari had proceeded on a 10-day vacation and a routine medical check in UK on Jan. 19. In a letter he sent to both arms of the National Assembly the president said Vice President Yemi Osinbajo would act as president pending his return. The president, who could not make it back to the country on Feb. 6, transmitted another letter to the Senate requesting extension of time to complete his medical check-up in London. |

“I am not directly in touch with the president, but I speak with those around him in London,” “I am not saying I speak with him directly but I am in touch with London daily. People around him, we speak daily” Those are the words of Mr Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to President Buhari on media and publicity. Femi is supposed to be the President's mouth piece. He is supposed to hear directly from the president and tell others. But by his own admission, others hear directly from the president and tell him. And so, when Femi tells us that the President is hale and hearty, and that he needs more time to rest until the doctors are satisfied, he's not telling us what he knows or what the president told him but what 'those around' the president told to say. He has no direct access to the president as it is now. And I think this is the way things has always been because Mr Adesina, by the way he spoke about it, seems not bothered. He sees it as absolutely normal! One is therefore compelled to ask, who does Femi Adesina speak for? The president or those around the president? Recall that the wife of the president, Aisha Buhari, had last year made it clear that PMB is not in charge of the government but those she called the 'Cabal'. These are the people that tell Mr Adesina what to say to Nigerians on behalf of the president. These are the people he calls 'those around the president'. Conclusion: Femi Adesina does not speak for president Muhammed Buhari, he speaks for the Cabal! |
A Second Republic lawmaker Junaid Mohammed had raised alarm over some cabal allegedly surrounding President Muhammadu Buhari. Mohammed said the cabal around the president is intent on destroying Nigeria as a country. He said if Nigerians are not careful the incident will continue until the country is destroyed. The former republican lawmaker also condemned the manner at which the presidency was handling issues of President Buhari's health. He said: “What is happening right now is very unfortunate because evidence has since shown that the President’s handlers are not telling us the truth." "They are playing on the intelligence of the masses, who took time to register, vote and some even died while voting. I feel Nigerians deserve better than what we are getting right now," Mohammed said. He also said the 1999 Constitution (as amended) is clear on the inability of the president to perform his duty. He urged President Buhari to resign rather than hold onto power. "If the National Assembly does not move to impeach the President, corruption will continue in this government. The plan by the cabal around Buhari is to bundle him into the country and make it look as if he is ruling when he is not actually in charge. "The cabal does not mean well for this country and if we are not careful, they will ruin this country," he said. https://www.naij.com/1089839-the-cabal-buhari-destroy-nigeria-junaid-mohammed.html |
The European Union has responded to the issue of the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu and other Biafra agitators and said it is monitoring his trial. This was contained in a letter signed by Federica Mogherini who is the vice president of the European Commission to Members of the European Parliament who were signatories to a letter to him sent in December 2016 accusing Nigeria of human rights abuse. Julie Ward who is a member of the EU has been supporter and advocate of Biafra and has spoken strongly against the detention of Kanu. In his response dated February 13, Mogherini said since the beginning of Kanu’s trial, the EU has been monitoring it and said Biafra agitators should be allowed to protest and express themselves as long as it is within the scope of the constitution. She wrote: “I fully share your concern on the violence that has erupted in relation to the Biafra movement. Individuals should be allowed to protest and express themselves freely as long as they exercise this right in a peaceful manner. Their prosecution, if founded on facts, should be carried out in full compliance of the rule of law, their human rights and judicial due process.” The European Commission vice president said with the European Development Fund, Nigeria is expected to fulfil human rights commitments as 166 million euros was allocated to support the “fairness, transparency and accessibility of the justice sector governance reform and the fight against corruption.” Mogherini said the EU raises human rights concern with Nigeria at every opportunity and promised that this will also be reiterated “through concerted effort, including parliamentary contacts.” https://www.naij.com/1089999-eu-comments-kanus-trial-biafra-agitation.html |
StOla:Then why was Ozekhome's bank acct frozen for having #75 million in the acct. The money is now being suspected to be a proceed of corruption. Is it because it was paid by Fayose? |
genearts:N15 million per case. OK. And Buhari had up 70 SANs that represented him in that case. That means he spent as much as a billion naira on dat case instead of just presenting the certificate? |
StOla:A wedding gift of 500K? The lawyer must be earning a million for every appearance in court to able to afford dat. And not to the celebrant himself but his father.. And Buhari chose a lawyer who is a 'close friend' to a judge who is presiding over his case to represent him. Too much coincidences |

Catholic Bishops of Ibadan Province have affirmed that there are no signs that President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration is truly working. The clerics noted that the hardship in the country was one of the reasons some persons were calling for the nation to break up. The bishops raised these concerns in a communiqué signed by its President, Most Reverend Gabriel Abegunrin and Secretary, Bishop John Oyejola at the end of its February meeting held at Oke Ado, Ibadan. The bishops in the communique enjoined the federal government to stop blaming the past administration for the current economic crisis in the country. The communiqué read, “It is difficult to deny that Nigeria is undergoing very serious challenges and problems at the moment. While many of our problems are not peculiar to Nigeria, it is true to say that we as government and people of Nigeria do not seem to know how to confront our challenges. “After nearly two years of the current administration, Nigerians should no longer hear past administrations blamed for the woes of the present.” “Our present governments, especially at Federal and State levels, have had enough time to demonstrate the capability to bring about the changes promised to Nigerians. “It is no longer news that Nigerians are truly suffering. Some of this can be understandable under a recession, however, there ought to be clear signs in national life by now that the government and people of our country are truly working to bring things under control. “Regrettably there is not much evidence of this, currently. Instead, there is a growing sense of desperation in the general populace, that the much expected change has been slowed down. “This unfortunate situation provokes general badwill manifested in the current proliferation of false information, violent clashes, calls for the break-up of Nigeria and pervasive criminality. It is necessary and urgent to restore the confidence of all Nigerians in the Nigerian nation. “We call on the government at all levels in Nigeria to continue to optimize strategies to bring about positive change in the nation. “As things stand, much of the government’s strategies do not seem to be working well. The campaign against corruption seems to be losing steam as convictions are rare and the initial recovery of stolen funds has slowed down. “The reform of the power sector is at a standstill with only some parts of Nigeria experiencing better or constant supply of electricity; road infrastructure is not improving much. Boko Haram insurgency, which seemed to be the nation’s main security concern, has been largely reduced, its occasional attacks and the alleged Fulani herdsmen clashes with local communities seem to cancel out whatever gains can be celebrated in security. “The freefall of the naira is another force tightening the noose around the neck of ordinary Nigerians, reducing their purchasing power and complicating their woes even further. So far, the effort of government to shore up this major issue can only be described as token and much more needs to be done in these different sectors.” The communiqué also stated, “We condemn the needless loss of life in the Southern Kaduna crisis, which has confirmed an impression that government is lackadaisical in responding to the needs of some sections of the nation. This impression should not be allowed to take firm root. Government exists for all and must never be seen to favour any group or ignore the needs of another. We admonish the government to be more proactive in protecting the life and property of Nigerians. “We appeal to all men and women of goodwill to help the needy and all those affected by the crisis. We acknowledge the recent effort of the Federal government in providing a number of jobs and giving some welfare packages to some poor citizens of Nigeria. “We urge the government to do more in this regard and ask State Governments to replicate this programme in the States.” dailypost.ng/2017/02/10/economic-woes-stop-blaming-jonathan-other-past-leaders-catholic-bishops-tell-buhari/ |

ABUJA- PROMOTERS and supports of the mega
political party, the Action Democratic Party, ADP
yesterday submitted to the Independent National
Electoral Commission, INEC, all required
documents, preparatory to full registration as
one of the major political parties in Nigeria
ahead of the 2019 Presidential and general
elections. Led by the Protem National Chairman, Engr. Yagbayi Sani and other Interim officers, supporters of the association arrived INEC yesterday at 1 00pm in a long motorcade amidst fan fare, drumming, singing and dancing. However, while the members were stopped from gaining entry into the premise of the Commission, the Chairman and a few others with the registration documents were allowed into the Premises. Addressing Journalists shortly after the submission at the office of the ADP, Engr Sani who noted that the Association would scale through the registration huddle and dislodge the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC at the Centre, said that the association when registered as a party, would win majority states and Seats at the National Assembly come 2019 general elections. According to him, the Mega Party came on board because of “the current pathetic and weak conditions of the existing major political parties in Nigeria as well as the Challenging socio- economic and political situation in the country, saying that the party was a child of necessity. “This situation has also led to public frustration and pains, as a result of which the general Public now yearns for an alternative political Party made up of credible Nigerians that will chart a new innovative course of action to put Nigeria on the path of sustainable development and national cohesion “The ADP is poised to rebuild Nigeria to achieve greatness as envisaged and desired by all. It is regrettable that despite the enormous human resources dor development that we are endowed with, the nation wallows in abject poverty, and lack of direction, the ADP is prepared and equipped to halt this slide. “Having complied with all the Constitutional requirements for registration as a full-fledged political Party by INEC, including interim structures in the 36 states of the Federation and the FCT, Abuja, today we are making history by submitting our documents formally and a few of our members decided to join us to this place. “As concerned patriots, like the proverbial sagacious elders who will not allow the head of the newborn child be askew on the back of a slothful mother in the market place, we have risen to the Challenge to correct this normally and reposition of our country”. Sani assured that the Party would be guided by the historic national duty by the three fundamental principles as enshrined in its constitution and manifesto namely: All-inclusive government, Democratic empowerment of young people and Party Supremacy at all times”. He pledged that the party if registered intended. “To do things differently by creating an enabling environment for Nigerians to freely elect their leaders and as well determine their future where impunity, nepotism and mediocrity will have no place. “The party shall run an all-inclusive government that will accommodate and empower our youth, women and other Nigerians irrespective of ethnicity and religious affiliations. Speaking earlier on why they came for the submission of the Registration documents to INEC with such a large crowd, the Protem Chairman, Engr, Sani said,” were here to celebrate democracy with fun fare and not to cause havoc, we are sorry if we have broken any protocol”. www.vanguardngr.com/2017/01/mega-party-adp-submits-documents-inec-registration/ |

…Declares Jan 8, 2017 national day for mourning … Christians to wear black The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has described the silence of President Muhammadu Buhari on the ongoing killings in Southern Kaduna by herdsmen as giving official endorsement to dastardly acts to eliminate Christians in the state. CAN National General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Musa Asake on behalf of CAN President, Rev. Dr. Samson Ayokunle stated this on Friday in Abuja where he declared Jan 8, 2017 national day for mourning in solidarity with Southern Kaduna people. He enjoined Christians to have all celebrations/merriments associated with the New Year to be done low key in solidarity with “our brethren in southern Kaduna who had lost their lives and who have been denied the privilege of celebrating the yuletide. “While we commend President Muhammadu Buhari for waging war against Boko Haram fundamentalists since his Assumption of office, his silence over the on-going genocide in the last few weeks speaks volume over the perceived official endorsement of the dastardly and ungodly acts. “The recent defense of the President’s silence that the President has received briefing from the governor of Kaduna State over the matter is unacceptable, because the Presidency knows that the people of the affected area had already protested against the governor’s unacceptable biased handling of the continuous killings. “Common sense tells anyone that at that instance, the President has to more directly wade in because lives are involved. The continuous killings have shown that the Governor of Kaduna State lacks the will power to arrest the situation and bring it under effective control. “We know that southern Kaduna has been under 24-hour curfew daily as directed by the governor, yet the enemies of the people are still prowling going from house to house killing defenseless people without government protection. “CAN has previously drawn attention to the imbalance in the appointments made in our security Institutions, hence we re-emphasize that leadership/ management of security institutions both at the national and state levels be reviewed to ensure a balance of Muslim and Christian Representation. Such balance, will build trust and confidence among all citizens of Nigeria in the Security empowered to protect our nation,” he stated. Continuing, Asake said: “The current unprecedented onslaught against Christians in southern Kaduna by the Islamic fundamentalists disguising as the Fulani herdsmen under the watch of Kaduna state governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai and President Muhammadu Buhari has reached an alarming stage. “In view of the present predicament, the President of CAN has directed that Sunday January 8 2017, should be declared national day of mourning by Christians including those in Diaspora. We are to pray fervently for our southern Kaduna brothers and sisters who are victims of these wanton killings and also for the peace of our dear country Nigeria. “Therefore, all Christians are to dress in mourning attire of black clothes or dresses in all our church services on January 8, 2017.” He accused security agencies of complicity in the genocide being perpetrated against Christians in the state. “The security operatives in the area appear to be turning blind eyes to the killings. They only rush to trouble spots after the perpetrators of the evils had performed their enterprise of killings and destruction of houses and farmlands. “We implore the state and federal government to increase their efforts in putting an end to these killings and as well ensure that those behind the killings are brought to book under the laws of our land and those affected to be compensated,” he said. kaduna-killings-buharis-official-silence-is-official-endorsement-can |
