hi guys , please I have a problem .. my system was reformatted and after that I can't access any external devices in my system. for example if I plug my external hard drive I cannot copy from my system to the external hard drive and vice versa.
if I plug in the external hard drive what I see with the icon is "FAT" .
please I how can I resolve this so I can be accessing my hard drive from my system

The Total coolant is good for Honda cars , I use it and it has been working perfectly. it was recommended to me by car technician at total filing station @ Apapa. the quality is same with that of Honda coolant

it depends on what you want to do , if you have the finance , I think offshore engineering will be a wise move, since you will be given an internship which will give you a first hand feel of the subject. class work + the real deal will give you that extra edge on experience. offshore engineering is not paper work.
...but if you don't have the finance ....a beg hold your job o

good day guys , I have a Honda pilot 2004 model, I notice any time I am on speed if I brake a little bit , I will start noticing vibrations in the front wheels, its so bad especially when I am on a smooth road, please what is the cause of this and how can it be remedied thanks

pls my Honda pilot 2004 emission control light is on , after diagnosing the fault it brought out p1456 which indicates the fuel tank emission. Also I have been experiencing high consumption of fuel .
What could be the problem and how can I resolve this?

Guy in as much as I don't want to start commenting negatively on your actions, I dare say you played your card too early, you should have told them that they should give you like a day to think about it maybe that will give you time to discuss it with your wife.
as it stands now , there is 90 % chance those guys might not call you again , because you exhibited an altitude that shows u were just after the money and not the growth of the company or what value you are bringing into the company. masters degree aside, you should have taken the job, learn the ropes and show you are indispensable before hammering on pay rise with your direct boss who will then take it to the HR.
Just pray they call you back or better still call them now!! and take the offer, anything can happen between now and when they get back to you. they know you are out of job that's why they started with your last job pay, there is nothing wrong in asking for a raise but it should be done with tact and wisdom.

chitexy: @Dr, @okez and @all I have a second class upper degree in materials and metallurgical engineering and i am currently working(2nd hitch) as a roustabout in Transocean installation thou not a direct staff of transocean. what do i do to grow in the job? although a lot of in house on job training, what external courses do i have to do to grow. i have a target of being a driller before 8yrs from now. how possible is it? age not a barrier on my side

learn all you can , make acquaintance at the rig with senior drillers, ask questions, develop a bond with the guys in charge, then if you have money , go for iwcf/Iadc certification for well control. although further training is still encouraged, but it should be in drilling or well completions.

^^^^^ there is room for everybody...the market is very big to accommodate more...he who seek knowledge , will definitely find it,and he who shares freely , will lack nothing!!

Age is not a barrier, all you need is stamina and good positve attitude, if the opportunity comes go for it and learn all you can, read this thread from the beginning you will get an idea of what i am talking about.

computer science is related, afterall the oil and gas use computers, you can start with certification courses, especially security and oracle, or SAP.

go for drilling, very related to mechanical, most drilling equipment are mechanically operated.
Petroleum engineering is cut out from mechanical.

nerilove: Hi all, can someone without previous drilling knowledge and does not have a degree be qualified to receive IADC/IWCP certification and still find employment in the field?

i too have wondered about this , because i have seen some expatriates that have these certs but no formal tertiary education, my take in this is that those that have such certs without formal education started from the lower ranks, like righand, rough neck and grew up through the ranks and along the way they did their IWCF/iadc , because the drilling industry is now asking for such certs for higher responsibilities, its a kind of continuos education format, to show that you are up-to-date with all the rig maths and safety procedures associated with drilling.
if you already have a job that is associated with drilling , you can go for the course , if not don't even try,because of the cost implications and it is not a gaurantee that you will get a job in the drilling industry, i think the course is tailored for those with appreciable experience in the oil and gas industry and still practicing.

you can do masters in pipeline engineering if you want to , it will give you a solid footing on the subject, since you don't have any experience it will be wise to do a masters on pipeline engineering if you have the time and resources, you will be exposed to all aspects of the course.
give it a shot, it makes sense.

I'm currently studying Purchasing and Supply Chain Management at the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen and My first degree was in Geology. During an International Recruitment event held on the campus, I met the HR representatives of Transocean and they said they particularly came here to recruit Nigerian graduates looking to come back and work in Nigeria. She mentioned something about ART(Accelerated Rig Trainee) program for 3 yrs if one is successful with their recruitment process.

My question is how is the Career progression like after the ART program? Is there a clear path forward? Also is it worth it? I have been trying to get like insider info on how Transocean is in Nigeria and if it is worth pursuing full throttle.I just want to make sure I am not in anyway selling myself short with a decision to work for transocean because I heard some work may not require college degrees and all that...

guy na wa for you sha, you met the hr ONE ON ONE , YOU would have ask him/her all these question , the HR is in a better position to give you concise straight to the point answers, go to transocean's website and read about them, they are the second largest drilling company in the world,with over 200+ rigs scattered all over the world, dem no dey look for work, na where to spend money dem dey look for,you should consider yourself lucky, grab the job offer with both hands before, they blink twice, here in Nigeria the ART program is a rigorious and stressful ordeal of doing series of test and interviews just to screen of some candidates off!, but abroad , i doubt if applicants will be made to write test, because most foreigners will not come to naija waters to get kidnapped by angry militants/oil bunkerers, sending a nigerian graduate from abroad to nigeria is cost effective for them , you are going back home to your country, no work permit , no relocation expenses,so make up your mind.

my pilot maintenance required light blinks when i start the suv, after diagnosing the fault, it gave this code p1457, on further research via goggle i found out it has to do with the fuel canister system, what parts or item is responsible for this? and where can i get the parts, i am afraid to give it to these road side mechanic to use my suv for Industrial Training.pls ur advice will be greatly apprecatted
