We need to understand that when people die, what you bury is just the body that used to be the container of that person. It's lifeless! It makes no sense to spend such amount to bury an ex container. As for me, I pray to live long and when God calls me, my kids can do to what used to be my container, whatever pleases them. That ofcourse will not include wasting money that could have been put into better use for themselves and other people around them. Go to Warri and see the abject poverty around. If its truly 150M, that money can lift 150 families out of poverty. |
Egypt should just boycott the World Cup and maybe FIFA will pick Nigeria as a replacement. Who knows, we may go ahead and pull off a Denmark Euro 92.😀 |
Must have done it over 100 times! I have lost count and it's a mutual thing...lol |
The man who acted like it's real life. So pure! He will be sorely missed. RIP, Papa. Your legacy lives on |
Nobody in government will ever accept paying ransome. They dont want to send a signal to kidnappers that they can always make money from kidnapping so, anyone expecting them to accept, will wait in vain. As for me, I really dont care how they do it, I just want my brothers and sisters to be safe!!! |
The day I saw the boy walk out on his mum and grandfather during an interview, I knew his arrogance was of irredeemable dimension and a fall was imminent. I hope he retraces his steps and finds help that he seriously needs. He's extremely talented, pride to the continent but he MUST work seriously on his character - TOP PRIORITY! |
Dharram Veer remains my favorite Indian film of all time. Thanks, Dhamendra for the joy you added to our childhood, growing up in the 80s to 90s. We will miss you very dearly. Rest in Peace, Legend. |
3 points. 1. Does Kanu deserve the sentence: This man incited violence that led to deaths via IPOB and EndSars. The sentence is justifiable! In fact, capital punishment wouldn't have been out of place so, I commend the government for the life imprisonment sentence. 2. Did Government manage it well? He's been in custody since the Buhari administration and spent half of Tinubu 's administration still in custody. I believe this trial should have been wrapped up during the Buhari administration. The delay further complicated matters. 3. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. If Kanu is jailed, then so must ALL who have ever been involved in Terrorism and Banditory. Unfortunately, that is not the case. Some of them have been called repentant and absorbed into the military, I stand corrected. What a shame! |
Tuggar is more of a Disgrace for putting out inaccurate figures about Christians who have died from terrorists attacks in the last 5 years! |
I live in Canada and I can tell you that if there is any venture that competes with medicine in terms of financial rewards, it's agriculture |
The Most Inconsistent Government in History. Always going back on their words. Do they ever think things through before making pronouncements?? |
May Lord Lugard's soul continue to suffer in hell for the 1914 amalgamation. We have absolutely no business being one Nigeria with the North. Absolutely Nothing in common but the Britons amalgamated us for the consolidation of their business interest. May God punish Britain!!! |
My Take on The Threat of US Military Action in Nigeria. 1. Is there widespread killing of Christians in Nigeria? Yes. Are Muslims and members of other religions being killed too? Yes. Can we conclude there is Christian genocide in Nigeria? Well, majority of the killings have been in the North which is highly populated by Muslims. In contrast, available data seems to suggest that majority of the victims of the killings have been Christians. 2. I do not know of any country in the world where the aftermath of a US military action has been positive for the nation. Please correct me if I'm wrong. 3. US Military action in any country will definitely have collateral damage - That's an unfortunate inevitable situation. 4. Military action in Nigeria is going to adversely impact the economy. It will erode investors' confidence and the consequences will be catastrophic especially in a country that's just attempting to navigate an economic recovery path. 5. However, I think there could be positives from this situation. The US threatened they would release names of Nigerians supporting terrorism. It's about time someone did that. This may help in the fight against terrorism. The sources of the funding can be identified and eliminated, the sponsors can be arrested and they can have their day in court. 6. Rather than a full blown US military action, I see an opportunity for Nigerian military to leverage on US intelligence and equipment to decimate the enemy. I only hope that Nigerian government can diplomatically explore this option to our advantage. 7. This threat is the much needed wake up call for the Nigerian government to act. We recently learnt of an attempted coup which led to the restructuring of the security forces. This is the time to ACT. 8. Lastly, I am wondering how this affects Tinubu's choice of running mate for the next election. Another Muslim-Muslim ticket may not be optically appealing as they try to prove to the world that we are a secular state where Christian or any faith genocide is not tolerated. Patriotic Nigerian |
Elzazzi:You dont need a fortune, you know. As long as you can afford ALL your needs and some of your wants, you should be good. |
True! money doesn't bring happiness but it can sustain it. If a woman marries you out of pure unadulterated love, the expectation is that together you would build a happy and prosperous home. If life happens and money is in short supply, that love may remain but the happiness of that home will be threatened when there's no money. So, please do not be fooled, money is important in a relationship. Push hard to legitimately make money. It will help sustain happiness in the home and also help to strengthen the love. |
It would be up to my children to decide. I would have left that container called body by then. |
RENO's Life needs a serious RENOvation. |
When a drum makes the loudest sound, it's about to burst. Wike, be careful. |
I am a Christian and I intend to remain so, for the rest of my life. But how do I view religion? The same Europeans who brought Christianity to us, brought slavery - the worst of man's inhumanity to man. What about colonialism? The Arabs brought Islam and out of Islam, extremist groups like Alqueda, Boko Haram etc sprang up. Not forgetting the violent Islamic conquest in Nigeria from North to South by Uthman Dan Fodio. So, for me I have decided whether anyone professes Christianity or Islam, it means nothing to me. It's the humanity in them that counts. |
This is an era of multi-cloud. Outage of one CSP shouldn't have such massive impact. You should always replicate your workload on another CSP |
Mr Edun, if you are not well and you allow APC to push you to go out for the optics, then you ll have yourself to blame for the consequences. Nothing wrong with being ill, if you are, take time out to get medical attention. You have only one life. |
My position on Demolitions in Lagos since the beginning of Sanwooku's 2nd term. 1. I agree that houses who have ALL required documents but have been built in a way that it poses dangers to the occupants or the neighborhood, should be taken down. One might ask though how they got the required permits and all in the first instance. If this is found to be due to ineptitude which Government has always been know for, then the owner of that house should get FULL REIMBURSEMENT for today's value for the building, NOT Compensation. 2. I agree that houses who have ALL required documents but the owner went ahead and built against the permit granted and the structure now constitutes a safety risk, should be taken down. Government may elect at its own discretion to compensate the owner. 3. I believe that houses built without required permits but have been built in a standard way with absolutely no safety risk and not obstructing any planned infrastructure, should not be demolished. Owners should be fined and made to process the permits and documents. If they fail to do so after time given passes, government can eject them and take over the property. Government may then auction it, and give due proceeds to the owner after government has taken its portion. 4. In a country like Nigeria where the economy is terrible as it is, knocking down buildings with no structural defect makes absolutely no sense. 5. Lagos state should also desist from the campaign of calumny targeted at the Igbos. It will only strengthen their resolve to vote against APC and you can be sure sympathizers from other ethnic extractions will join then as well 2. |
Another word for bastard is Umahi. |
I am sorry, I put my phone on "silent" every night. Nigeria is 6 hrs ahead of where I reside and folks are fond of calling at 2am my time, just to say "hello" to me, as a reminder to send "that thing". I wake up and unable to sleep again, then headache sets in, eventually BP. Na!! I ve stopped that. Let heaven fall, as Wike would say, I don't want to be continually disturbed while asleep. Only the living can do something! |
I am just ashamed on behalf of the Tinubus who are struggling hard to convince the world that Nigeria has improved significantly when it comes to corruption. I believe this yearning to convince stems from the fact that Tinubu himself is the most corrupt public official in Nigeria's history with corruption records dating back to 50 years ago. A man who says forget about my life prior to when he went to Chicago. A man who plead guilty to benefiting from drug proceeds and paid 460k in a plea bargain in exchange for not going to trial and ratting out the big guns. That's makes Tinubu technically A CRIMINAL. He's only not a convicted criminal so, Sowore is technically right. |
AndroBlaze:Like National Leader of APC - a title not recognized in the party constitution. |
Years after, some people will read what they have posted online and ask "Was I mad when I wrote this'' What is wrong with calling a fellow politician who is now a Monarch, your brother. A brother can be elder or junior and the age difference can be 17 years or more. Brother is usually used when you wish to indicate closeness to a person. As a Yoruba man, I dont see anything wrong with the choice of word. This is why I love the Western world, my CEO is 20 years older than me, a multimillionaire in dollars, and when I need his attention, I just say "Hey! Don...." and no one feels disrespected. Same way college interns who I am 20 years older than, call me by my name, and everyone is happy! |
Atiku' best chance to be President was 2007 but he missed it by not playing his politics well with Obj. His 2nd best and final chance was 2023 but again he was bereft of political sagacity by allowing the G5 to fragment PDP. Imagine if he had all the G5 states, he would have won that election. He failed to learn from GEJ's mistake in 2015 which allowed a faction of PDP to team up with APC leading to the emergence of Buhari. Farewell Atiku, it's game over because this man who is currently there, BAT - only God can prevent his re-election. |
casualobserver:The worst form of ignorance is to be oblivious of it. It's pointless trying to extricate you from this self-imposed cocoon. You have gone too far. What a travesty! |
