This is a temporary situation. As long as we remain a consuming economy without doing much to earn FX and reduce importation, Naira will continue to be a poor performing currency. |
While the idea of Tinubu as Nigeria's President continues to infuriate me, I don't blame him at all for appointing more Yorubas. I agree with Ozekhome on this. Infact, it would have annoyed me more if he didn't. Buhari set the precedence and it's good to give the North a taste of their own medicine. The problem I have is just that he hasn't appointed the right Yorubas in many cases and that's to be expected of Tinubu, a man for whom personal aggrandisement trumps everything else. |
I imagine Ambode will be saying Sanwoolu went back to his Alma mata. |
The truth is Christian TV stations are more hence you are likely to find more Christian programs out there. Rather than blame GOTV, I think MURIC should encourage Ansarudeen, Nawalrudeen and other Islamic organizations to invest in broadcasting. That way you can have as many Islamic programs out there. Do you even know how many Muslims go to RCCG Holy Ghost services. I know a number of them and that's because Christianity is out there in people's faces. |
2027 Governorship ticket in Lagoa is definitely going to tear APC apart as Tinubu struggles to keep his office in Abuja |
When Tax Authorities come calling now, she will change the tune. Ask Iyabo Ojo. |
Nothing will delight me more than someone from another party not affiliated to Tinubu becoming Governor. Let's have a change for once. Is it a monarchy? One man of zero integrity running a state for 25 years!!! O ga o!!! |
After you don chop Pan Ocean money finish, abi? |
Politicians are the same everywhere. They tell you what you want to hear to get your votes. Whether they believe in what they are saying or not, they say it like they mean it, if that's what you want to hear. Don't worry, when she needs you again, she'll come back for you! |
Fuel price is now almost the same in Canada and Nigeria. Even 1 bag of 50kg rice is now more expensive in Nigeria than Canada, whereas minimum wage in Canada is $15 per hr compared to 33 cents per hr in Nigeria. It now looks like prices of everything in Nigeria and Canada/US are the same, except for housing. God save Nigeria. |
Don27tiky:Unfortunately, to average Southerners whether NW, NC or NE, mallam na mallam as long as they speak Hausa. |
Let me start by saying left to me, I don't care what tribe or religion anyone is from, I just want competent and efficient people in power. The reason we are complaining now is because the country has taken a nosedive. If the country was working, no one would care about tribe or religion of the appointees. Having said that, while I am a critic of the Tinubu government, I can only say that Buhari did the same thing and nothing happened so Tinubu may just be justified by doing same. The problem is that it's not working! The best economy we have had so far since 1999 was Obasanjo's administration and it can be recalled that the people who made that administration shine were mostly from other tribes. People like Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Soludo, Chikelue, Ribadu, El Rufai, Ezekwesili, and my darling Dora Akunyili of blessed memory, to mention just a few. So, you see what a President can achieve without nepotism! |
GOFRONT:Is he not? Remember The "off your mic" incidence, he was one of the contracts beneficiaries, then the recent one with humanitarian ministry, his company was involved too. Just because he appears to be doing some work for which he is paid his due wages, that shouldn't excuse him from the corruption he is culpable of. |
My heart bleeds! That could have been anyone |
6 spanners down! May the brave souls of the departed rest in perfect peace. That's why I tell people that the risk associated with offshore E & P outweighs the pay. I begged to be moved back to the Lagos office after years of offshore work. The transportation and operational risks are too much. If chopper doesn't crash, the well may blow out..too much risk mehn but it's a rare privilege to have the experience still. |
SmartPolician:Please change the headline. You don't discover Oil Well. You discover an Oil Field by drilling a successful exploratory well. Thanks |
I had my NYSC in Opobo town 20 years ago. LG Chairmen in ONLGA never stay in Opobo. They stay in PH and only come in when payments are about to be made. Now that there's a road network to Opobo, maybe things have changed. |
We thought Buharis was the most clueless. Tinubu is the new king of cluelessness. I have lost count of the number of decisions he has rescinded. Not fit to be a Leader! |
A conglomerate of stooges |
I was in Nigeria last week and what I experienced was crazy. He's entitled to make his own decisions but from the vantage position where I am, Nigeria is currently not working. I will NEVER advise anyone to japada completely at this point. I will recommend a phased re-relocation, if you must. |
It is an insult to the sensitivity of oil and gas professionals in Nigeria when NNPC says it uncovered illegal refineries. They were never hidden. They were always in plain sight. I can't count the number of illegal refineries I see when I fly from NAF Base, PH or Warri Airport to offshore locations in various Niger Delta states, especially Bayelsa. It is mind-blowing! so, please stop this Nonsense!!! You have the information, you just do selective uncovering! |
Firstly, Demola was not the first son of the King. Hon Jide Akinloye is the eldest. He was the 3rd son. Motive for the killing is yet to be ascertained but there is a suspicion that the royal family was the target and Demola was unfortunate to be the one they could access. Demola was the immediate younger brother of my best friend. I knew him very well. This is so sad and I hope people writing would be sensitive with their comments as the family goes through this grief. May his sweet soul rest in peace. |
Bro, I bulit 40ft x 40 ft in Lekki from May 2023 to Mar 2024. Building alone I spent over 80M so I imagine how much it will cost to build now. When i started, cement was 4k per bag and was around 12k by early this year. Iron also went up from 450k per ton to 1M per ton. I did pile foundation amd that alone was between 15 - 18M, at the time. It is well with Naija. tommy589: |
[uote author=MadamVanessa post=131643077] I will love to know the total number of rooms in it and see the interior designs too. However, 50 or at most 55 million should give you something like this. I spent similar amount to erect something like this in my village for my beloved parents.[/quote]55M for what? Do you know that 1ton of iron is 1M? The exterior is good so I imagine matching interiors. 100M |
So Ambode went to greet the "mad man" and he is not afraid of being bitten? |
As terrible as Abacha was, we won the Nations Cup (94) and Olympic Gold in Soccer and Long Jump Female (96) during his administration. We would have won the 96 Nations Cup as well if he had allowed us to participate cos we were simply the best in Africa at the time, too hot to handle. This Tinubu; I don't understand oooo. Even Tobi who seemed a sure medal hopeful didn't even make it to the final. It is well... |
If APC ever loses Lagos to another party, the pandoras box that will be unearthed will lead to members of Tinubu's family and their cohorts fleeing the land because they will literally be stoned on the streets! |
I am trying to rationalize this. Prof Soyinka has direct access to Tinubu. He must have expressed his thoughts directly to him in person and may just decide that as long as he's able to speak to him directly, there's no need to go public with his criticism. Moreover, they have been friends from the days of NADECO and he is finding it hard to chastise him in public due to their long standing friendship. WS is human afterall. However I think despite all that, he should comment generally about the state of the nation and also let the people know that he has detailed his criticism directly to the President. Keeping quiet till now is capable of eroding the credibility he has built over 7 decades. |
APC making all the wrong moves both at state and national levels, making more enemies. 2027 elections will be interesting #FreeLagos |
Hate him or like him, he has an uncommon grace upon his life. He is the most respected African alive and his government has been the best since 1999 going by all indices. He is not a Saint but he is just a Special One. |
