The South West Muslims and Christians have been co-habiting for years in peace because we are all related and love one another. But these Hausa Muslims bringing up this issue of Sharia is like stirring the hornet's nest.
We don't want Sharia in the SW...Fullstop. This is a secular country and the Christians must be respected too. The law of the land is okay the way it is.

This is not the first time that the refineries have been fixed by previous governments and eventually something still went wrong. I do hope that this time will be different because it is a win for Nigeria as a whole. However I seriously have my doubts and I strongly believe that allowing them run successfully over a period of time is expedient.

Well I do not owe you an explanation but can we start with the fact that I successfully ran 2 offshore facilities with 80k bopd installed capacity successfully for over 5 years, increasing production from the wells. I moved into drilling and successfully drilled several wells, one was one of the deepest in onshore Niger delta drilled to over 17k ft along hole; an exploratory well which led to discovery of a field with over 200 million barrels of oil in place. That field is currently producing at over 20k bopd. I ll stop there for now and if required I can go further. So, you, what have you successfully run in your life?

Yes government are failures in running businesses on Thier own for sure but I think the difference between OBJ's NNPC and NNPCL now is the involvement of partnership with foreign private entities which will not allow failures. Moreso, Dangote as a running private firm will put a challenge to them not to fail. Thier operations might not be smooth at the beginning or up to the expected capacity, but I still believe they will run successfully over time.

Time will tell. I hope this will be a paradigm shift.

It was because the government was still paying subsidy then they rejected the offer nothing more, now it has been deregulatted no more subsidy, if by 2years from now this refineries function effectively then they should also remove subsidy for electricity let it be fully deregulated my greatest dream is to see this nation work in my life time

You need to watch a recent interview of Tonye Cole on Channels TV, then you will understand some of the reasons Shell refused to manage the refineries. I pray for the Nigeria of my dreams but.....

NNPC as currently structured CAN NOT run the refineries successfully. Mark my words, in a few months, something will go wrong again. I am not happy to say this but it's the way the country is wired. Government of Nigeria can not run any business effectively. The corruption and bureaucracy will eventually kill the business. You think Shell was stupid to reject the offers?
NNPC should not be in a hurry to gloat. They should at least wait for 1 year before formally inviting OBJ on a facility tour.

You truly followed the trend. Many that went with Obi to LP and Atiku to PDP would have gone with Osibanjo. Many that left APC then would not have left many that was still in APC that worked against it, would not have done so.
I don't know why some people are comparing Osibanjo capacity to that of Tinubu that know but nothing. No doubt Tinubu is a political guru but when it comes to governance, he is a mediocre. All the progress he made in Lagos were the brain work of people like Osibanjo Fashola and Aregbesola. If the three are still with him, we would have felt the difference by now because Osibanjo would have been drawing out the plans for him the way he did in Lagos during Tinubu's administration. Today those Tinubu surrounds himself with are average thinkers and not genius like Osibanjo.

Imagine how easy it would have been to sell the Osinbajo candidacy throughout the nation. APC struggled to sell Tinubu and that's why he avoided debates. Imagine an Osinbajo debate with any other candidate...landslide victory.

Let me add to it. A great number of those who voted for Peter Obi would have voted for Osinbajo.

People seem to forget that when PYO was Ag. President for 3 months, that was the only time in Buhari's administration that the country actually seemed to be working but PMB came back and retrogressed again.

Osinbajo is a combination of capacity, capability and integrity; qualities that we need in a Nigerian Leader that will cause a change towards the realization of our Nigerian dream. This is a temporary situation. As long as we remain a consuming economy without doing much to earn FX and reduce importation, Naira will continue to be a poor performing currency.

While the idea of Tinubu as Nigeria's President continues to infuriate me, I don't blame him at all for appointing more Yorubas. I agree with Ozekhome on this. Infact, it would have annoyed me more if he didn't. Buhari set the precedence and it's good to give the North a taste of their own medicine. The problem I have is just that he hasn't appointed the right Yorubas in many cases and that's to be expected of Tinubu, a man for whom personal aggrandisement trumps everything else.

The truth is Christian TV stations are more hence you are likely to find more Christian programs out there. Rather than blame GOTV, I think MURIC should encourage Ansarudeen, Nawalrudeen and other Islamic organizations to invest in broadcasting. That way you can have as many Islamic programs out there. Do you even know how many Muslims go to RCCG Holy Ghost services. I know a number of them and that's because Christianity is out there in people's faces.

Fuel price is now almost the same in Canada and Nigeria. Even 1 bag of 50kg rice is now more expensive in Nigeria than Canada, whereas minimum wage in Canada is $15 per hr compared to 33 cents per hr in Nigeria. Unfortunately, to average Southerners whether NW, NC or NE, mallam na mallam as long as they speak Hausa.

Let me start by saying left to me, I don't care what tribe or religion anyone is from, I just want competent and efficient people in power. The reason we are complaining now is because the country has taken a nosedive. If the country was working, no one would care about tribe or religion of the appointees.
Having said that, while I am a critic of the Tinubu government, I can only say that Buhari did the same thing and nothing happened so Tinubu may just be justified by doing same. The problem is that it's not working!
The best economy we have had so far since 1999 was Obasanjo's administration and it can be recalled that the people who made that administration shine were mostly from other tribes. People like Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Soludo, Chikelue, Ribadu, El Rufai, Ezekwesili, and my darling Dora Akunyili of blessed memory, to mention just a few. So, you see what a President can achieve without nepotism!
