50 only? There are thousands of illegal refining sites in Bayelsa. I have flown in choppers over a hundred times over Bayelsa state to the Atlantic Ocean, and the number of illegal refining operations I see each time is mind boggling!!! |
If LIRS comes after this one now, she will start recanting. Fake Life Gang! |
Love love this video! May you all prosper in this land. Amen. |
LOVEALAIGBO:Well, Austin Avuru played into their hands. He should know better! |
Seeing comments here from some people who do not understand the business and the technicality of the O&G industry. We don't have to comment on every post, please! |
Talabi Adebayo Braithwaite - never knew this man was that rich as at 1965. No wonder he owned a good number of the properties on Osborne, one of which he gave to Lagos State as the Dep Governor's lodge. Respect, TAB, The Insurance Doyen! |
Invest my hard earned dollar in Tinubu/Sanwoolu administration? I reject it. Once beaten, twice shy! |
2027 will be different. They won't see us coming. #FreeLagos |
Nigeria should have 1 day dedicated as the Mike Adenuga Day to celebrate this man who broke the monopoly of international operators and freed Nigerians from extortion by debuting with per second billing! MA, here are your flowers! |
It is clear that APC is a party of Impunity...Period. Election is in 3 years. We know what to do! Change! |
Shameless country. Charged for Naira Mutilation? All of us should be in jail then. Selective justice. |
20 yrs ago, a certain Globacom came into the telecoms space and instead of lowering the call rates from N50 to N40 per minute, Adenuga debuted with per second billing. It was daring, revolutionary and a paradigm shift. He forced the international operators to follow suit and effectively ended the exploitation of Nigerians. That act signaled the beginning of price wars and other forms of competition within the industry. Today, the Nigerian economy is better for it. Air Peace should restrategize and get on with the war, it's business where everyone wants to be a winner. Our thoughts and prayers are with Air Peace to thrive and be around for a long time. Too early to start crying foul, it's business war, and if you intend to be a big player, you must be ready for the consequences. Break a leg, Alex! |
okito:So when I wrote the piece above, my wife was pregnant with our 3rd child. She eventually delivered on Wednesday, was discharged on Friday and on Saturday, April 6th, she on her own accord went to the kitchen to make ewa agonyi with the sauce despite my insistence o her not doing anything. So, you see, I was absolutely right that some women would gladly do these things out of their own volition especially when there is love. |
I left Naija at 40. Left an oil and gas jib and worked remotely for a while before fully integrating into the Canadian workforce. I do not regret the move. A lot of my colleagues back home now ask me of I knew Naija would be like this when I made my move. Don't be deceived, if you have an opportunity to relocate legally and you can afford it, and you want it, please leave. If you are in Nigeria and you are comfortable and feel good about it, please stay. Different strokes for different folks! |
For Nigeria to truly flourish, we need to borrow a leaf from the Canadian System of Government. Every Province functions independently yet in consonance with the Federal Government in Ottawa. |
Another educated Northern fool. Educated enough to acknowledge the oil and other natural resources belong to the Nigerian state but foolish enough to lay Northern claim to the ownership under any guise! |
When I saw the caption, my initial reaction was of disdain and I was ready to chastise the man because I love my wife and mum so much that I can't bear to see any woman being maltreated, I can't. But when I watched the video, I got a sense of a house filled with love and the woman even said she would remarry the guy in another life. It looked like what my wife would want to do if she's fit as she just beleives no one can cook for her husband like herself. So, if there are no complications and the woman feels good and she did look good in that video, then it may not be so bad after all, as long as she hasn't been forced to do it. |
Praying for similar outcome in 2027 Nigeria elections to further deepen democracy in Africa. |
malcom1X:Emphatically telling me I don't know what am talking about is not only impolite, it is inaccurate. I know the Alakijas cos one of my cousins is married to them. Infact my maternal family has been friends with the Ogbaras (Folorunso's birth family) since the 60s, so I know them to an extent and I have insider information of what has been happening at least in the last 15 years! In addition, as an oil and gas professional myself, I do know the intricacies of getting an oil block whether as sole risk, JV or PSC, even the adventure called the SPV. I understand the obligations of converting an OPL to OML, I know a lot, let's just leave it there. So, when IBB started the indigenization policy in O&G industry circa 1990 to empower Nigerians to own oil blocks, it was a laudable idea but I can't confirm that it was fairly executed considering Nigeria is a country of nepotism and corruption. So, no one can say for sure as you alluded to that she got the block by sleeping around. I know as the owner of Supreme Stitches, she was close to Maryam Babangida and the likes so that definitely paved the way for her. But when an indigenous company was given 6,000 ft of water to explore with very old and uncertain geological data, probably 1D, and she refused to sell like many did, instead partnered with Chevron and even went through years of litigation with Federal Government, you should give her some credit. I am not holding brief for her cos I can't hold brief for any top Nigerian - I do not trust them. |
malcom1X:You know I only expressed my thoughts and you could have done yours politely, if you have it in you. |
Firstly, they ve been married for 48 years. Secondly, this had been coming a long time. Uncle Mo as the hubby is fondly called has been a big time philanderer as the wife embraced gospel work. So I am not suprised at all. I was just hoping they ll stick this out considering their ages and the seeming longevity of their marriage. I wish them the best |
MiddleDimension:Thanks for the post and I have read the whole of 1Cor 7 so I don't quote verse 20 out of context. However, I do not see where it explicitly speaks to a man with more than wife. I guess this chapter is subject to individual interpretation as led by the spirit. |
My thoughts and I stand corrected. Marrying 2 wives cos your culture and old religion permit it is okay. When you become a Christian, old things including polygamy which Christianity frowns at, have passed away and all things have become new so, you shouldn't continue to practise polygamy. I think you should restitute by letting go of the junior wife/wives. A classical example is the Founder of RCCG, Pa Akindayomi whose culture and old religion seemed to permit polygamy but once he became truly born again, he had to painfully restitute by letting go the junior wife and he asked her to take everything she wanted from the family properties. |
Don't take full responsibility. Take full action. |
But you folded your arms for 8 years while Buhari got us into this mess. Bloody Hypocrites...same as that Emir of Kano sending Remi to tell Tinubu that people are hungry....I don't remember any of them voicing out when clueless Buhari was in power. As for BAT, that's what happens when you force your way into power when you could have sat back and encouraged younger technocrats with integrity to be President. |
I don't believe he committed suicide! |
This will not be tolerated in any Mosque in any part of the World. I think the man was just plain stupid! |
lexy2014:Me too. I saw N500 bundle ![]() |
Kenochi:While this is one of the reasons, I ll like to add that divesting of onshore assets by multinationals is not new and has been on for over 10 years now. Most of them have been giving up their onshore assets due to community disturbances and increasing cost of doing business relative to reserves; to focus on deep offshore assets. I was involved in the sale of Shell's OML 30 about 13 years ago, as part of this divestment drive. |
It's a good thing but I am suprised it made headlines. It's his responsibility so why should it be a big deal. I have done a lot more for my wife...a whole lot more and we continue to enjoy our 15 yr old marriage like we started yesterday. I don't beleive we should elevate conversations of this nature so men who do it start thinking they are doing something special. It's our responsibility to take care of our wives and children primarily, then others. Just my humble opinion. |
Hmm. I know one of Adenuga's sole risk oil blocks with a new field discovered few years ago and over 500 million bbls of oil in place. Estimate that even at $50 per bbl. He chose to keep it under the radar. I wont say much.quote author=LegendHero post=127895183]I’m not sure Adenuga will ever meet Dangote unless he diversify his portfolio more. When Dangote refinery come on stream, the gap he will use to lead the second spot will be so wide.[/quote] |
While the decision to marry is a personal one, it's also the most important decision you can take as a human. it can either make you or marr you, then scarr you for life. If the young lady trusts her father so much as to seeking his input before making the commitment, I don't think it's wrong. Like they say, if you are not sure, ask. Lastly, fathers are not usually as intrusive as mothers in their children's relationships. if the husband can treat the girl so well in the marriage to earn her trust and love, she will transfer all the love and trust from her father to her husband, and the man will enjoy her thoroughly. |
