When we asked you guys not to vote for Jagaban, you refused. He is known for legitimizing miscreants. KWAM conducted himself in such a shameful manner because he knows he ll get away with it. Jimi Disu is around 70 years so I understand when he says Nigerians abroad will soon be on their way home. When you are that age, to be honest, and you have made money abroad, it's sweeter to be in Nigeria and just go abroad for your medicals and to spend time with the children once in a while. Also, if you are collecting pension abroad and spending it in Nigeria, you will be very very comfortable. That said, if you are still young or mid aged with kids still in school, going back to Naija now will be a hard decision. I live in Canada, my kids go to public schools with standards at the very top globally, and I pay next to nothing. My 15 year old goes to a school where one of his courses is a Cybersecurity course where once he graduates from high school, he gets a diploma which enables him to get an entry level job where he can make $80,000 per annum as an 18 year old. Tell me, how can he get such qualitative education in Nigeria for free? Is it 24-7 electricity you want to talk about? what of my house with no gate and we sometimes don't lock the doors when we go to bed. Health care nko? Available and easy to access funding for business investments? please, uncle Jimi, when all your kids are back home, let us know, then we can start considering it too. Conclusively, I must add that western world is not perfect hence, I wholeheartedly pray that Nigeria can become attractive again for people to return, a semblance of that happened during Obasanjo and Yar adua regimes. Now it's time to elevate this conversation so people are not caught unaware. The proliferation of AI into every industry is a paradigm shift. Very soon, people won't be able to get jobs without AI knowledge as AI tools and techniques will take over, I mean every industry! No industry is exempted. AI will soon be like the advent of computer and MS Application. If you couldn't use them you were out. I recently visited a family doctor and he was using AI. I asked if he considered it a threat. This is one of the primary reasons that nothing Tinubu does will ever make sense to me. Too many lies about primary and secondary schools, as well as the source of his wealth. I agree he went to Chicago, worked in Consulting and Oil&Gas but he should tell us about his early life before Chicago. We deserve to know. It's okay to have been raised by a foster mother, nothing wrong with that but as a political leader, you owe it to us to be transparent about your past, that's if you have nothing to hide! 1 Like |

For someone born in 1972, I expect his WAEC result to be dated circa 1989/1990. This is 2008 so it must either be a resit, probably because he failed Maths in his previous attempt(s) or he never finished secondary school and only had to write the exam later in life for political reasons. While formal education is not a conclusive test of one's abilities, this Okpebolo doesn't represent Edo well at all. Edo is too blessed with materials, to be governed by a mediocre like him. But Sha, that is the Nigerian story! |

yarimo:Disclaimer: I am not for/against the coalition. Just putting out my observation. When APC was formed, it was a coalition of serial losers like Buhari, Tinubu etc whose parties have lost presidential elections to PDP over the years, and disgruntled politicians like Saraki and co who left PDP. This is not different from what is happening now. The only difference is that this coalition feels more confident about their chances considering the precedence set by APC, while Tinubu is also more aware of the possibilities unlike Jonathan who was rather complacent and less ambitious. My thoughts Pastor Paul was well within his rights to refuse to be photographed, absolutely nothing wrong with that. He showed his displeasure without cursing at the guy or pointing any weapon at him so nothing wrong with how he handled that, in my opinion. The Police also confirmed that what he carried was not a lethal firearm but added that the stun gun was a prohibited anti-riot equipment and that's where I believe he has a case to answer. Why was he carrying a stun gun? To protect himself? well, we all know we don't have a reliable security apparatus to protect Nigerians so we must go the extra mile to protect ourselves, but it has to be done within the provisions of the law. |

I have read so many divergent comments here today and one thing is clear. Some don't know but they think they do. How can anyone contest the fact that Buhari sidelined Tinubu? it was so clear. Infact, it was when Buhari was planning for the 2nd term that he beckoned on Tinubu and asked him to accompany him on an overseas trip. Tinubu was already discussing with other parties. Someone even said Buhari campaigned for him. The same Buhari who anointed Lawan as consensus candidate? Buhari had no choice than to campaign for his party's candidate. Let's not be ignorant here, Tinubu just prevailed for 2 reasons; 1. Atiku could not hold PDP together. If the G5 had supported Atiku, he would have won...Period. 2. Tinubu's political sagacity to outsmart his APC detractors in winning the party's ticket and also consolidating by reaching a deal with G5. 3 Likes |

You have got to give it to Hadiza. She does her best to bring sanity to a corrupt institution which unfortunately she's a part of. I interacted with her when she was MD, NPA and you could tell she was on a mission to build an institution to be proud of. She was like a new Sheriff in town at the time and everyone in the Agency had to buckle up. That much i witnessed. Reminds one of Dora Akunyili, though still a long way to go, to match her strides! |

Let me give you few examples ...you can have an AFE of $30M approved for a 12k ft shallow offshore well but while drilling, you get stuck 5 times and spend weeks, even months fishing and sidetracking a fish, that well may end up costing $60M and there's nothing anyone can do about it. What about security, that's a major archiles heel, you don't want to know how much companies pay formally and informally to keep their staff and infrastructure safe and secure. What about the various regulatory authorities that must be taken care of, otherwise they will frustrate you and not give you required approvals; NUPRC, NOSDRA, NIMASA, NCAA, NNPC etc. I can go on and on. That order is a mere rhetoric, it won't move a needle. We can come back 2 years from now to assess how far that order has been effective. |

Generally, things are more expensive at Shoppers. You can get the same Coke for half the price at some other retail stores. That said, even at $2:50, that's what the lowest earning Canadian makes in 10 mins, whereas N400 is what the lowest earning Nigerian makes officially in 1 hr. We know some people even make less than that 70k per month. Bottom line, purchasing power is much lower in Nigeria. By the way, the lowest earning Canadian will also get child care benefits, rents assist etc monthly from the Government. If you have 2 kids less than 10 years and live in a rented apartment in Manitoba for instance, you could be getting at least $2000 monthly from provincial and federal governments added to your regular wages! |

Career fulfilment for me having been a part of OPL 2007 converted to OML 150. This production would have started much earlier had Dieziani allowed Conoil to move at the pace the Company had proposed which was a win-win for everybody but for corruption and bureaucracy! |

As a teenager in the 90s, I knew this Fred Ajudua as a scammer. 30 years after, he's still being arrested for the same offense. When "419" came to be, Fred was the symbol that represented what it stood for. They should just send him to life imprisonment. Full stop! 5 Likes |
