I still wait wen Niger deltans would b given waters ways across d nation 2 fish. Marcelini: Well people must always criticize even when they have not read the book. As a good author why don't you write a book and tell us how it should be,maybe we might learn. Just know that with the current system Nigeria is dead at arrival. Jonathan really loved Nigeria by setting up a confab 2 ensure Nigeria doesn't break up. If Buhari truely loves Nigeria he knows what to do. 3 Likes |

Religion / Killing Of Pro-biafran Agitators; Bishop Ikeakor Cautions Buhari. by okonkwo44: 8:46am On Feb 16, 2016 |
Killing of pro-Biafra agitators: Anglican Bishop Ikeakor cautions Buhari By Odogwu Emeka Odogwu (Awka) and Steve Oko (Umuahia) On 16/02/2016 04:44:32 AM Worried by the continued killing of pro-Biafra agitators by security agents, the Anglican Bishop of Amichi Diocese, Nnewi, Anambra State, Rt. Rev. Ephraim Ikeakor, has counselled President Muhammadu Buhari to send them for further training on the management of civil protests and conflict resolution. Bishop Ikeakor’s caution followed the recent killings of unarmed protesting members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) and the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) by security agents in the South East zone. Bearing his mind on the development, Bishop Ikeakor told The AUTHORITY that, clearly the security agents need to be retrained on how to handle protest situations by unarmed youths. His words: “I think some of our security outfits need to be trained on how to handle situations of protests. You don’t just shoot guns at the slightest provocation if there is any at all. “That’s my take on it and I know a lot of persons may not be comfortable with it but the truth must be told. The South Easterners need to be given their right place in our country, if not, let us go for a referendum; let’s decide if we still want to remain one Nigeria. “The time to say the blatant truth has come. Now we’re talking about IPOB; you can also see another demonstration coming up from the Christian community. I’m just pre-empting it. “How can you just go and enlist us as a member of Arab League and tell us that we should now join our brother Arab nations to fight ISIS. Nigeria is not an Arab nation. “We’re not a Muslim nation. We should not pretend any longer. The time to tell the leadership of this country that things need to be done right has come. “Concerning the IPOB and MASSOB demonstration, I want to make it clear to Nigerians beginning from our leaders. You can hold a people to ransom for a long time but not all the time. Let’s be frank. I am a religious leader and we must tell the truth.” His warning came as the IPOB leadership denied media reports that it had threatened to begin to bear weapons from tomorrow. In a statement on Sunday in Umuahia, the Abia State capital, a purported spokesman of IPOB, Emma Nmezu said: “Now, we have come to the painful but irreversible conclusion and determination to take our fate and destiny in our own hands. Starting from Wednesday, February 17, 2016, Biafrans will now be in the mode of self-defence as enshrined by the relevant acts and declarations of the United Nations. “Let no country or world leader attempt to tag us as terrorists because we are not terrorists, rather we are fighting for our survival and from being exterminated from the surface of the earth.” “We shall defend ourselves with everything and anything necessary to avoid the continual killing of our mothers, fathers, and children. This is the time for all Biafrans to rise and defend themselves. We cannot fold our arms and watch them kill us the second time after killing over two million of us in 1968.” But in a swift reaction, IPOB stoutly refuted the reports trending in the social media that its members, as well as other Biafran agitators will begin to bear weapons in self-defence from tomorrow. IPOB Media and Publicity Officer, Emma Powerful, dissociated the group from such statement, maintaining that it remains non-violent in its struggle for Biafran autonomy. He urged members of the public to discountenance the report, saying the enemies of Biafra want to use it as excuses for military invasion of the South East region. According to Powerful, detractors of the Biafran struggle are behind such report with a motive to discredit the agitators as terrorists and ultimately pitch them against world leaders. He warned all those behind such reports to retrace their steps or have themselves to blame should anything happen to Biafran agitators as a result of the malicious report. Powerful said IPOB and other pro- Biafra groups were committed to their non-violent stance in their efforts to actualise Biafra Independence. However, Bishop Ikeakor further said: “If we tell you that the Igbo race are not fully relegated to the background as far as the issue of Nigeria is concerned, we are deceiving ourselves. We’re not carried along in this nation. We’re being treated as 3rd class citizens. “I want to make that clear so we don’t deceive ourselves. People are protesting subjugation, humiliation; it’s not marginalisation again; it’s complete abandonment. But the only place I have problem is that you can have the right view but the approach is the problem. “The pattern of the approach is what I say let us look into it. You can’t achieve these things by violence, destruction and confronting the government in existence. That is not the right source:https:///l4easGe4li |

Wit d kind of comments av seen so far I think nigerians deserve the kind of rulers dey av. In a sane country y wud political parties interfer in senate rulings and activities? You are below d law once you bit ur paymaster. Y wasn't he charged to court all dis while? Is he d only public official wt fake assets declaration,98% of our politicians commits dis same crime. According to the constitution d candidate with the highest number of vote wins d seat not d party wit d highest number of candidates in d senate. Every member should be free 2 vote whoever he/she wants irrespective of d party. Pdp did this all their 16yrs of ruling this country. Now change has come, I expect the change should be doing positives dat pdp cudnt do. But dey are still following same path. Nigeria is heading no where forward. Apc,pdp are all scams. Nigeria nids a revolution. 1 Like |
Family / 11 Pro/post Steps Of Marital Ethics. by okonkwo44: 1:35pm On Sep 18, 2015 |
#Most young people dream of being married some day and, of course, they want a happy and successful marriage. But such a marriage is not easy to come by. In fact one of every five marriages ends in divorce or separation. This means that half of these people, who thought they were "in love" quickly became disillusioned, bitter, unhappy, and ready to call it quits on their marriage. Is marriage just a big gamble in which most people are losers who end up hating each other, while a few lucky ones manage to have a good relationship? No, it isn't that way at all. There are certain specific ingredients in a happy marriage. #Number one ingreedient is Agape love which is the love which gives and sacrifices for the highest good of another person. #Agape love is not just a wonderful feeling;it is the definite choice of the will. One of the amazing things about agape love is this: when you choose to love a person unselfishly and act lovingly toward them, in time you will have the feeling of love toward them. #God has given us a wonderful place in which to learn agape love. That place is the home. If you are living at home, God wants you to begin to show unselfish love to the other members of your family. Remember, you do not have to wait until you feel loving toward the others in your family. You can choose to love them and begin acting unselfishly toward them. This is excellent training for marriage. #Any girl or fellow can act lovingly toward someone that he or she is planning to marry. It is in their interest to do so. But once they are married and the routine of daily living sets in, their basic nature will express itself. If they are selfish and self-centered in their present family situation, they will be the same way in their marriage. #One of the biggest mistakes young people make is rushing in to marriage because they cannot stand to live at home. But until you learn to live at home, accepting and loving the other members of your family, you are not ready for marriage. #Before considering marriage you need to know that you have agape love for that special person and that he or she has the same kind of love for you. #A happy marriage is not a marriage between two "perfect" people who just happened to meet each other and get married. There is no such thing as "perfect" people! #A happy marriage is a marriage between two imperfect people who love each other with unselfish, committed love. Agape love is not blind-it sees the faults of the other person, but it covers them with love. When you really love someone, you don't try to change them. You accept them and love them as they are. Agape love says, "I love you no matter what happens, and I always will." You can see why this kind of love is so essential in a happy and successful marriage. Wish all my pals good luck in establishing a good home.Have a great day. |
Career / True Life Management Principle by okonkwo44: 2:18pm On Aug 26, 2015 |
Two important management lessons I learnt from a 500 Naira note. 1. It happened some time ago but . I was in an audience listening to a motivational speaker. The speaker got out his wallet & pulled out a 500 Naira note. Holding it up, he asked, "Who wants this 500 naira note?" Lots of hands went up. Including mine. A slow chorus began to build as people began to shout "Me!" "Me!" I began to wonder who the lucky one would be who the speaker would choose. And I also secretly wondered (and I am sure others did too ) why he would simply give away 500 naira. Even as the shouts of "I want it" grew louder, I noticed a young woman running down the aisle. She ran up onto the stage, went up to the speaker, and grabbed the five 500 naira note from his hand. "Well done, young lady," said the speaker into the microphone. The speaker simply say "Most of us just sit and wait for good things to happen. That's of no use. You've got to make things happen. Make a move" 'Simply thinking about doing something is of no use and not gud enough'. Our lives are like that. We all see opportunities around us. We all want the good things. But the problem is we don't take action. We all want the 500 naira notes on offer. But we don't make the move. We look at it longingly. Get up, and do something about it. Don't worry about what other people might think. Take action. 2. later, the speaker got another 500 naira note and held it up for all to see, I thought I knew what's up. But he just asked a simple question. "How much is this worth?" "Five Hundred naira!" the crowd yelled in unison. "Right," said the speaker. He then took the note and crumpled it into a ball and asked "How much is it worth now?" "Five Hundred naira!" screamed the audience. He then threw the note on the ground, stamped all over it and picked up the note and asked one more time: "And how much is it worth now?" "Five Hundred naira!" was the response. " I want you to remember this," said the speaker. "Just because someone crumples it, or stamps on it, the value of the note does not diminish. We should all be like the 500 naira note.. In our lives, there will be times when we feel crushed, stamped over, beaten. But never let your self-worth diminish. Just because someone chooses to crush you -- that doesn't change your worth one bit! Don't allow your self-worth to diminish because someone says something nasty -- or does something dirty -- to you." Never let your self-worth diminish. |
