SARS morphed into what they are today. I remember them stopping me as back as 2016 and they were unprofessional because they searched my phone, my bag, asked me a few questions, did not see anyhting incriminating on my phone and they let me go. How did they get to this point they are now? because they felt untouchable.

Those that started the movement #endsars initially had genuine interest to stop police brutality against innocent citizens. The movement has been hijacked by criminals and elements of disobedient. If SARS is disbanded, does it mean that police will abandon the fight against cyber crime? Another formation can be established with a different name and can be more brutal than SARS. The attack on security agencies on the disguise of protest is unacceptable and uncalled for. Nigerians have right to protest against government but government also has the responsibility to curb breaking down of law and order.

I think your position is not accurate in the sense that this is more than just a rogue unit of the police force, this has transcended to politics, anything that has to do with politics concerns political office holders both home and abroad. An instance is this, if the protest gains the kind of awareness it does in the Uk to get the attention of the prime minister or anyother concerned politician who bring this to the knowledge of the prime minister and he feels concerned and calls Buhari to ask him to look into the issue, do you think that Buhari would not be concerned that it has gone beyond the shores of Nigeria? Many things are intertwined in itself to just brush off the idea that a protest in the UK should be termed "misplaced priority". George Floyd's death should ring a bell to you if my post does not make sense.

That's one of the few reasons of electing elderly men and women into sensitive positions in government. Assuming it was one young protester/agitator that we elected, would he have had the audacity to caution the emir? Age wouldn't favor him and in our culture, irrespective of who you are, you don't have the ethical right to disrespect an elderly person.

Buhari cautioned him briefly and in the most polite manner. Can we just alter our outdated constitution and consider Sai Baba for an additional term? It's just a popular opinion where the opinion of the minorities doesn't really matter.
