Dannyilo: I have seen several post on social media asking why the North is not involved in this #endsars campaign. Let's get this straight, I see no reason for them to protest. That's the truth. I was born and brought up in the north, the police in the north don't behave the way those from the other parts of the country behaves. Yes, I say so. How many times have you heard a police man or SARS shot a civilian in the North because of bribe he/she refuses to pay? I don't think I am aware of any. The average northerner is not a coward, take it or leave it; If you try such in the north, be rest assured that you are not going to leave to tell the story. Policemen are more coordinated in the north. You will hardly see police checkpoints that are solely meant to collect 50 to 500 naira to allow passage of motorists on the highways in the North. To think of it, I think most times we are our own enemies. About 80 to 90% of policemen are usually indigenes of their local environments, so therefore; if there are records of brutalities and exploits, it is same people. Have you ever travelled from down north to the east before? Kindly observe the trends of policemen on checkpoints as you approach the next state. Benue, Enugu, Anambra.... As you go deeper, the greed becomes obvious. Same goes to the West and worse of all, the South South (I even heard some of them use POS). My suggestion is that let all SARS officers be redeployed to the core north for reorientation. My brother, I totally agree with you but lets not forget that the system, that Fulani/Islamization agenda that the north wishes to exert on the whole of Nigeria is one of the reasons why we have such down here. 1. When all these were starting, the government said or did nothing to stop it here. 2. Just like in America where you have systematic racism where you cannot explain why something happens but it does happen for the fact that there is an underlying root problem. This is what we are suffering here. The government is in full support of any form of oppression of the people of the south. to subdue them, to gradually initimidate and kill them so as to reduce their numbers, put them in chains while using other means to push their islamic agenda. This is the underlying problem and its has not been so bad unlike the last five years when we have a jihadist as the number 1 man in the whole country! This should explain to you better why they would quickly send soldiers and police to shoot at sight at IPOB protesters and label them terrorists when we know that the real terrorists in Nigeria are up north. Does that make any sense to you? Even the United states labelled Bok Haram, the 2 most deadliest terrorist group in the whole world but the Nigerian govt refuses to see them as such. Shebi northern govrnors have held meeting and are saying that they do not see the need for SARS to be disbanded. Does that also make sense to you? No! its part of the bigger agenda. does it mean that they do not see that people are being killed for nothing? but they do not care as long as it fulfils the greater goal "chain them, reduce their numbers, deny them those things that would make them great because when they have those opportunities they are intimidating." |

fortran12: In which dictionary does protesting means shutting down the economy, there are government offices all over, people can go and protest there. Governments do not reside on major or minor roads. Its irresponsible to put others at risk because you are making a point. You are no different from your oppressors. it is not irresponsible as long as people's properties are safe and lifes' are at no risk. You are the kind of person that feels ok with the status Quo and dont want anybody to disturb your daily business. Not like you are ok with the status quo per say but you dont care enough to do something about it. Hence, it gets you angry that people are distubring you with theirs. You my friend are one of the lazy youth Buhari was talking about. them dey protest for developed countries and trams and buses always arrive late because they cannot pass. Its a disturbance but the police does not do anything to them because they are exercising their right to expression. Blocking the road is apt because during a protest space is needed to freely march and thousands, if not millions would not do it on the walkway or hang in the air, it has to be on the road. |

I was born in the South and stayed a good part of my life there, but trust me very few southern states can rub shoulders with the North in terms of development. Arrewa: i actually don't why you people are so obsessed with Arewa!
We are not like ipobs that are busy dragging Niger Delta into their imaginary Biafra!
We have northern Nigeria and we have Arewa!
Arewa means core north!
Benue is not Arewa
Kwara is not Arewa and will never be...
Kwara should be south west.
The Emir there is just a religious title!
We are no longer in the period of conquest.
Every state in Nigeria have the right to decided for themselves.
Just the way Niger Delta rejected Biafra! whether you like it or not, accept it or not, Niger Delta which was coined to divide the people of the old eastern region are one and same! |

NaMe4: One thing guys need to understand regarding police brutality is that it's almost non-existent in the North. Personally, I only witnessed it when I came to the South. We can only advise guys up North to be careful what they wish for. But one thing I am certain of is the northern youth will not tolerate SARS excesses for up to one month, unlike how it lingered in the South. They'd start lynching them. sars cant even try what they did down south up north. impossible |

I don't blame you. When you see a kid raised in the gutter with no parental care whatsoever it isn't hard to tell.
Do you have a father? Where is his reaction? You must be a very mad man. Is Tinubu my father? Oh so because he is old enough to be my father then I see something amiss and I would not speak my truth to it? Even if my father was in that position as Tinubu, I would tell it to him that he is not fit to be the "person" society puts him to be because he has failed. And you should furck off my mention because naa our keeping quiet put us for the situation where we dey now. The mad man can talk about a governor who is not from his state and advise a set of people to vote another person who his party rejected 4years ago because they were in a fallout with eachother but cannot speak of societal ills because they do not want to offend the government of the day? I have every right to call him out in anyway i wish because he is a hypocrite and he has presidential ambitions in the future. I want to know, is he worth voting for? well, the answer is an apparent No! me and you no get the same home training. If you like carry respect for your head because them old. Any legit Nigerian with me on this ?
I love this too... let's juxtapose it along with the aforementioned. una dey too foolish, shey na so we go dey protest for every topic wey be societal issue? when we go protest finish? why not protest an overraching issue tha covers alot more than just a trivial topic such as yahoo in the larger scheme of things? why are we where we are today if not that the only hope to a better life which by default we should be enjpying has been taken away from us decades ago? why not protest that Buhari resigns? why not protest for electoral reform, in that way it would be difficult for people whp have sinister motives to get into public offices by just doling out cash to electorates? fixthe head and the rest of it would fix itself. electricity, good roads, infrastructure, educatio , law and order, quality of life is way more important and relevant than yahoo. the absence of this would be monsters you would be making and the result of the consequences of wrong decisions bad people in government and the helm of affairs |
