You can apply before it expires but if u can be patient a little wait for her to get an extension reason is that if you apply now they will grant you visa until the date her current visa expires and will extend it only when her new application is approved so u see the choice is yours

My wife study permit & student visa expires July next year. The plan is to extend her study permit an additional year to 2025. Can I apply for SOWP next year using her study permit alone once her visa expires? Does she need to apply for student visa extension before I can apply for SOWP?

I saw your comment and think it may be helpful for a friend. He used his family as tie. He was issued visa for Study starting in May 2024. He's thinking of applying sowp for spouse and sp for kids. Is this advisable or it's better he lands first. Course duration is one year

In your husband's SOP, ensure you explain the sudden change in plan. That is, why your husband and the children now wish to travel with you.

Your husband's home tie will now be his parents, your parents, his siblings, landed property and his professional associations (if applicable).

I am applying for a study permit for my 5 and 8-year-olds. on form imm1294e it says "If you are less than 17 years of age, you must fill out the Custodian Declaration (IMM 5646) form"

Am I required to fill out form IMM 5646 ie. (The custodianship declaration form for minors)?

@okukuone you didn't get question correctly, my spouse is already in Canada and she went for 8months course, i’m the one that applied for sowp, and her tuition fee remain a sum of $3000 cad, what i’m saying is that, do we need to pay the balance of her tuition fee before my sowp will be approved or proceed to medical, I need an answer to this?

Please I need answer to this? The wait is killing

Someone I know has gotten his PPR but it's late to start coming as school has resumed. He has deferred to sep 2024 and will be coming to Canada around July 2024.
The initial plan was to arrive first before applying for the spouse SOWP, since he can't arrive till July, can the spouse apply for SOWP now while he is still in Nigeria? Or must the spouse wait for him to land first before she applies for SOWP? Thanks

I have Finance background.
I did the first application myself and I got GCMS note for the first refusal for Financial Technology course in 2021

Afterwards, I decided to go to the UK for study. I finished my study in the UK, but I have been an Healthcare Assistant for about 1 year now. So I decided to go for a Continuing Care Assistant program. I explained the reason why I am switching in my SOP. I applied the second time in July 2023. I used about 4 bank statements in pounds with a total of 35,000 pounds balance and 9,000 USD mutual funds balance. That in my calculations was above 60,000 CAD and my school fees is 20,000 CAD.

The second refusal was on Financial reasons so I thought the VO made a mistake because of the multiple bank statements that I submitted. I transferred all my pounds into one account, and reapplied. I also explained the reasons for transferring all the money into one account in the new SOP.

I used an agent for my second and third application. I did not get GCMS notes for the second one.I have attached a copy of the refusal statement.

Please I need recommendations on an immigration lawyer or consultant that can help.

I also sew clothes seldomly but not as a strong source of income

Which one is preferred, an administrator or self employed in my work history?
