Good evening all. If I am studying in a dli not eligible for pgwp( I intend to change dli to one eligible for pgwp or finish my current program and enter another program eligible for pgwp), when is the best time to apply for SOWP for my spouse and kids??

Can I apply for them now even with my current school(dli not eligible for pgwp)

I believe the application is been processed separately as she's on a visitors permit .

My question now is Can I submit my passport alone to vfs while waiting for her own ppr? Or we have to submit together .

I applied for visitor visa for myself and my daughter since January no update, then i reapply for sowp in March 30 and last week I received a medical request for my daughter I uploaded our upfront medical and this night I received this message few hours ago.
Thanks to everyone here and I pray for goodnews to the rest of us here .

My daughter medical is still showing progress on tracker . Do you advise I send ircc another webform ?

I did an upfront medical last year November but the work permit application I used it for was refused as a result of the short time remaining on my spouse study permit.I did the medical using my old passport.
However,I am in the process of submitting a spouse open work permit for me and study permit for my kids and we now have a new passport,can I use the medical report for this application since it is still valid till November this year or do I need to redo another medical.The medical report is referencing my old passport as the 'identity document presented'

I'm a newbie here though I have been going through the page

My spouse is currently in UK on student Visa. He will be done with study by December 2023. He applied to a school in Canada and got admitted for January intake but want to defy to May 2024.

1. Can he apply for his study visa over there in UK or do he need to come back to Nigeria to apply?

He can apply from anywhere in the world as far as you have a good story to tell. However, it is preferable from where you have full residency.

2. Do we need to apply for my SWOP or it better to apply when he gets his visa. I'm in Nigeria. Note that he has a job,land property and age parent as home tire

All mentioned here are good items to tell a proper love story about home tie. If the money is there, it is always better to apply for the family (SP, SOWP, and VV for minors) same time. Write a good SOP and gather all the supporting doumens and shoot.

My biometric letter has dropped but that of my spouse is yet to drop.

I'm a little confused. Should I go ahead an book for my biometric screening or wait a little longer for that of my spouse?

NB: I'm for September intake. We submitted on the 19th n I got mine same day. We will save some cost if we traveled together as per accomodations-wise (coming from Abakaliki to Abj).

Yes, It's better to be silent than give a wrong info. I might have actually answered the questionnaire wrongly. Guess i will just upload the upfront medical results via webform for the kids. and also still attach it to the spouse's result. Cos i'm not sure there's much option for me.

but from their website, the processing time is 24 weeks and your application is still within this time.

Hello Gurus in the house, I applied for SOWP with visitor’s visa for my 11 months old baby March 12th, did Biometrics March 20th. My husband traveled May 2nd, my eligibility started May 5th, and till now May 17th I haven’t gotten any response. Would it be okay to send webform pleading my application should be expedited ? I checked the application tracker and my application was last updated May 8th.

Please is it normal not to see where to upload medicals for minors in the application for SOWP for spouse and kids? I only saw for the Spouse but nothing for the minors. Although we have not done upfront medicals.

Eligibility review started: 4th of May 2023
Correspondence Letter: 10th of May
Original Passport Request: 10th of May.

For people that sent their passport submission via courier, kindly explain how to me how to go about this in terms of the following.
1) How much will I need to pay for the kids package transmission considering the fact that they did not do biometrics.

You MUST pay transmission fee for all applicants whether or not they did biometric.

Yes pls!

3) Do I need to package all the passports in one envelope or I will the need to separate individual passport using different envelope.

Put each applicant's passport in a smaller envelope, then use one big envelope to send it through speedpost.

My sister got study permit PPR a few days ago. She plans to travel in September and will be married in a few weeks.

She’ll like her husband to come along with her or join her as soon as possible. Is it recommended to apply for SOWP for him before she travels? How strict is the requirement to add study permit and proof of enrolment to the SOWP application?

I’ll like to know if anyone has done something similar and how it turned out.

I will say wait for your husband to finish and get his PGWP, then you can apply for SOWP.
Your husband study will will expire 3 months after his study completion date, and the SOWP is always tired to the principal's expiration date.
So wait, and get maximum stay after he gets his PGWP.

My opinion, others could have better information.

My biggest concern is if the transmission fees i paid to vfs is meant for the return of my passport, as it is now i got an email yesterday "our decision envelope will be returned to you via the courier service offered by the VAC. Collection of decision envelopes in-person at the VAC is not permitted until further notice. Please refer to the 'Buy Services' page of the VAC website for further information on courier services offered by the VAC" Does it mean i need to pay a seprerate fee for the return? If anyone has recently received theirs passports, kindly assist with info on the new process....

Firstly, my hubby applied for study visa about 2years ago. He got the visa, but he didn’t go because he said he didn’t have the heart to leave his family behind. Now I want to apply for study visa and apply with my family. I don’t know if it will be an issue.

For this I don't think is an issue, but you can add it to you LOI. But no real knowledge on this.

Secondly, I am going for a years course, do I need to show pof for the 2 years tuition plus cost of living for 2 years.

You only need to show POF for a year, for both tuition and living expenses.

This strongly depends on the size of your family. A family of 5 is diff from a family of 3.

Well, if your family have the funds, please go ahead.
